My feelings for this place are mixed. There are already many deserted buildings in place (including the station), on the other hand a big area is used for new construction sites, apparently Chinese investments. There are some trails, that can be used for hiking (marked in OpenStreetMap/Maps.me), one being a maintenance trail for electricity poles (NE), the other very wild ending in nowhere (SE). Interesting nevertheless for an exercise

I’m giving it a 3 stars because it is very impressive to see, especially the older buildings from the 1900’s but the big investment company are totally destroying the national park on top of the mountain. They are demolishing and flattening big acres of nature to put houses on top where I think no body will ever live in.

(Translated by Google) One of the few destinations left in kampot where it is possible to walk by bicycle without being trapped in the comings and goings of the trucks and off-road driving today .... lands around the salt fields for sale or already sold !! A sign that in the near future it will be full of local Chinese, Chinese hotels and Chinese restaurants .... 😠 but today a real pleasure .... you can still breathe Cambodian air .... 👍 ... nice !!!

One of my favorite destinations in Cambodia. There're many places of interest could be found along the way here such as sacred Yeay Mao monument, Bokor Church (old French Catholic church), Pram Pagoda etc. The view here is amazing; especially in the sunset. The breeze here always appears in my mind anytime I think of this place.

(Translated by Google) One of Kampot's specialty products, a salt field that collects natural salt. At the information center in the center, you can visit the exhibits of tools used for collection, the process until reaching salt refining, etc. In addition, you can purchase freshly picked natural salt "Fleur de Sol" cheaply. Only the dry season (December - April) is harvested. If you are lucky you can see the harvest of salt and you can harvest experience. It's a hidden recommended tourist attraction. Fun pitstop on our day trip with a tuk tuk driver. It's the dry season and there was no water in the field so we couldn't see the piles of salt but it was interesting to see in the photos how the salt is formed and the work that goes into harvesting it. Some machinery on display and the option to watch a short video on the salt process. Also some samples to taste and they have salt for sale.

(Translated by Google) Well I did not see any salt, perhaps because the water was too high. However, they look like paddy fields. But they are really beautiful, come and take a ride with the scooter. It is near the city center. It's full of guys that go around there, so beware, I felt calm but you never know. When visiting Kampot, take a pit stop at the salt fields. Harvesting time if I remember correctly is during the warm/hot season, as the ocean water evaporates faster and this results in a bigger harvest. Quite interesting if you have ever wondered where the table salt you are eating is coming from. The "produce" different grade of salt and obviously you can also buy some to take home. At the entrance of the salt fields they even got a little museum with explanations.

Very very good atmosphere and environment here. You can enjoy the cool air here and fog everywhere in this area. This old casino was painted to another color, so it doesn't look original. You cannot have meals in this area. There are more available parking spaces. Free to entrance.

It was beautiful, when I reached at the backside of sokha hotel point I was speechless for a time while I feel this is the haven and I have this feeling after a long time. You can easily experience clouds are going down in the hill from the right side and coming up from the left side and in middle, you can witness that amazing moment with sunset or sunrise at far infinity sea. It was an amazing experience. With my photo, video, or my words you can't experience that, highly recommend visiting. I traveled to the endpoint of the road and it was a full-on nature trip, you can enjoy traveling between clouds if it raining season not sure about all over the year, many small and medium-size waterfalls, and a lot of monkeys 😀. Overall it was worth exploring the trip. It

It's a nice day out if the weather is good. We saw monkeys on the way, but apart from that there isn't much to see. View from the top of the hill is nice. It's not a myst-see if you gave limited time in Cambodia.

Bokor Hill Station and the accompanying national park truly left an indelible mark on my travel experience. Coming from the UK, where national parks are often untouched, this destination offered a different yet captivating perspective. The hill station, a historical gem built by the French and once a stronghold of the Khmer Rouge, fascinated me with its rich history. The garden at the back, boasting exceptional views of the jungle below, provided a serene setting enhanced by the captivating sounds of wildlife. Exploring the area at my own pace was a highlight, and I found the roads to be safe, allowing for a mixed and immersive experience. Bokor Hill Station and the national park exceeded my expectations, offering a perfect blend of history and natural beauty. I highly recommend taking the time to explore this remarkable destination.

Forget the salt mines of Russia, Kampot has its own version & its authentic. Authentic, genuine ,indentured labour on the harsh ,mindbendingly fiercely oppressive salt flats .Have a gander ,buy a fridge magnet ,& thank God above that you or your loved ones aren't working at this location .

There is no picture more capable of reflecting light and salt than this. Piles of sea salt that have been crystallized after several days of exposure. One by one, working hard to get up early for life. This traditional ancient sea salt evaporation process is already very rare. They work really hard and their salary is very low. Starting from 4 o'clock in the dark to start handling, around 10 o'clock is already too hot, it is basically difficult to work in the environment of exposure. Each basket is heavy, and there is a distance to carry it to the warehouse. Every time you go back and forth, you really have to be shocked step by step. It is not good to accidentally slip. At the same time, the seawater is so salty. If there is a wound on the foot, it is difficult to start the work. Sprinkle salt on the wound, you should have heard it. Giving 5 stars for the drive up - great road quality, just grab a scooter, tank two liters and go. We met monkeys on the road. The abandoned buildings are underwhelming - some are now occupied by locals, the old hotel was reconstructed into an ugly 5 star hotel. Still interesting to experience the eerie atmosphere.

Their rooms range from $300 to $2,000 / night even during the pandemic, according to the reception 4 rooms were occupied when we dropped by. Restaurant doesn't serve outside guests. They've got outdoor jacuzzi, but with wind and temperature of 24°C on Bokor mountain I can hardly picture anyone who'd be crazy enough to use it.

Amazing views. Busy due to Water festival but have been told it is usually quieter. Google actually took us short of the viewpoint so had to drive further up the road towards the church. At first it was cloudy, but after a short walk we returned to see the amazing view. There are also other abandoned buildings and a “traditional” village to explore. Road up is a good standard and we did not pay any fees to visit.

The area inside bokor national park is very cool especially to explore via scooter however we drove around for a long time and we’re unable to find the actual bokor hill station building? We did however see the abandoned casino as well as the new casino inside the open hotel which was equally strange The trip is definitely worth it - I’d say using the scooter makes the experience

I’ve been trying to get here for years and finally made it today. The wind, rain and fog made it such that pictures of the “station” were impossible. The big problem? Too late. They refurbished it and turned it into a hotel. The other problem? It’s locked up, closed, and can’t get in. Nothing to see anyway. The whole point was that it was old, French ruins. Those are gone. There is a giant Buddha on the way here as well as hungry monkeys along the road.
