What a wonderful pearl in Battambang. I'm so glad Anuth didn't just stick to renting motorbikes but also opened up a restaurant with John. The food is excellent, they even use their homegrown vegetables and the pineapple juice was pure and fresh. You enter the (upstairs!) Place through a little green paradise and sit in a lofty and stylish place. Anuth and John take their time to talk to you and they are full of little secrets about Battambang and surroundings and will share them with you. Also you can have profound chats with them about Cambodia's history and culture. Would recommend anyone to check this place out. Anuth also started her own little tour business into the country side of Cambodia and away from well trodden tourist paths. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to take one. This family run business is working hard to support their community as they take you on an authentic behind the scenes Cambodian tour. You’ll see them giving some business to the locals plus helping out a local family. Scooters are mechanically up to date, restaurant serves organic farm to table food, much from their own property. Bartender aka Owner aka John creates one of a kind drink just for you. You’d be a fool to go anywhere else for a bike rental, tour or meal. Anut, with the big beautiful smile will set you up and hubby John is right there with making sure you’re happy and satisfied. The hospitality is over the top!

The food is amazing! We had a beef burger ($8), a Khmer curry($6) and fresh watermelon juice ($2.50) all superb. Definitely would return if we ever come back to Battambang Also, the owners are very hospitable and friendly. They actually came to check with us how spicy we want the curry to be, also check on the food with us. Of course, like other reviewers have mentioned, they are very friendly and happy to share interesting stories with us. They also can arrange different kind of tickets and rent motorcycle, though we didn’t use that service but the day we visited the restaurant for early lunch, they already have all motor bikers rented out ($7/day).

A complete gem, in every way. Coming to Bar Ang was the highlight of our month long trip in Asia. My family still talks about the experience, the owners and the food to this day. We will never forget the hospitality and kindness of John, Anut and the rest of their friends and family. The owners, John & Anut, are the loveliest people. Their stories and way they welcome you to their restaurant, and the way of life in Battambang and Cambodia, is unlike anywhere else. We got to meet their cats, try potatoes (pictured below), and swap stories and Canadian jokes. Chatting with them and their friends was such an enjoyable experience. Being at Bar Ang feels like you are a part of a small, unlikely family where you least expect to find it. Menu highlights are the freshly squeezed pineapple juice (this was OUTSTANDING), their homemade French fries, amok, and fried eggplant. (We visited Bar Ang twice in the three days we were in Battambang- you must stop by if you’re in the area!) Thank you Anut and John for an unforgettable time! We miss you! This place is amazing, I would recommend it to anyone staying in Battambang. The food is incredible, I ordered the Khmer Mac and Cheese and whilst it wasn't what I was expecting, it was incredible! One of the most unique and nicest dishes I have experienced in 9 months of travelling. I can also highly recommend the Poutine if you are missing some home comfort food. John, the owner is so welcoming and full of amazing tips for things to do and see around Battambang, after we had finished eating we sat and chatted to John for about an hour! He brought us out some fresh season fruit to snack on whilst we were waiting for our food, I'm not sure what the fruit was, but it was really tasty. John's lovely character was summed up when we gave him a tip when he gave us our change, he gave us the tip back and said "can you give it straight to my chef, I love seeing her face light up". He was right, her face did light up and she was very appreciative of the tip even though it was only a small one. In todays society where everyone is greedy and out for themselves, it was so refreshing to see how selfless John was and how much he appreciates his staff. Bar Ang also rents out motorbiles, whilst we didn't rent one from John as we had already rented one, we did see them and they looked in very good condition, much better than the bike we had rented for only a dollar extra.

Went to Bar Ang last night. Beers are ice cold in a frosted glass, whiskey sours are awesome the owners even made my wife a special drink with the passionfruit fresh from the garden. Hand cut chips and the cats were a hit with the kids. Owners John and Anut are super friendly, such a good spot to sit upstairs and overlook the street below

We arrived at Bar Ang as they were just closing up but Anut didn't hesitate to welcome us with genuineness and hospitality. We enjoyed the delicious food and Anut prepapred a tofu lok lak for me and a (chicken khmer curry for my partner), which was full of freshly picked vegetables from her garden and was 100 times better than the one I had previously had at another place earlier that week. We chatted with both Anut and John who seem like lovely people and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend everyone go for a meal and a welcome at Bar Ang. Thank you both and best wishes.

Amazing place. Great food, big portions. The owners are very friendly and kind. We had extra refilled smoothies, little shot of local booz and fruits in the end. Go and enjoy your time

Still very excellent at their new location! The burger was very nice, even by western standards, with crunchy fries and nice sauce. Pineapple juice is out of this world. Portions were generous and the beer was ice cold! Bravo! I also rented a moto here. It’s worth the walk from town if you need a bike or a great meal!

If you want to feel the real spirit of Cambodia you must have to come here! Dishes have amazing, real and natural tasty! Anut is a fantastic person, with an incredible life story. Follow her in her unconventional tour to discover the real no-turist Cambodia. Super super super recommended!

We arrived here a bit late, after attending the circus show at Phare Battambang. The owners were just going to close, but re-opened the place especially for us (family of 6). They were so friendly and generous! We had an excellent meal, and a pleasant talk with them. Many thanks! So, it's clear: I would recommend this place to everyone!

A cool shack like place that grows some of its own produce to use in their food. A great place for vegetarians - We had the Khmer curry and Amok which was freshly prepared starting from the paste taking into account how spicy we want it to be. Had a great time interacting with the owners and getting to know their interests and plans. We got offered a plate of mango on the house after our meal as well which they didn't have to at all. It was delicious.

Amazing place and the best curry and amok we had so far in Cambodia!! Anut and John are super friendly, you should definitely take the opportunity to chat about their garden and cuisine!! We also rented out scooters on that day, super smooth and easy!

If u want a place in the city but in the same time, quiet and privileged, go to this place ! The owner and his wife are so welcomed and you will feel really comfortable. The food is incredible, one of the best Khmer curry we taste, made from the fresh coconut of the morning in their garden ! And the fries are so perfect. We really enjoy our diner and had a good talk with the owner, very open-minded. Also, you can rent a motorbike for a good price 👌🏼 If we come back to Battambang, we will pass by this place for sure. A lovely couple is running this scooter rental place. But the most amazing is that they serve amazing food in a nice restaurant too at the same place. You can have a delicious Amok with freshly pressed coconut and a fruit juice made in the minute!

We hired a motorbike from the lovely couple who Run Bar Ang for 2 days, the motorbike hire was reasonably priced and a very easy process. Upon returning the bike today we also stopped in for a meal. We had delicious home made pineapple juice, Amok Curry and a beef burger. All were freshly prepared - the fruit and veg also came from their garden which is great. Everything was delicious and we would recommend them to anyone visiting Battambang! Thank you to Anut and John for the great service :)
