Worst experience ever. If you think you by the name of the hotel that it would have great indian food especially veg, you are totally wrong. Lizards are roaming all around the room. Staff treats indians badly. All the staff are roaming around european guests. Serving stale food is the speciality of their restaurant. They even force you to take a gala dinner on the 31st night for 100 euros per person even though you are not interested in it. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone especially pure veg folks. Manager isnt helpful at all. Full of attitude. I even doubt its a 3 star hotel.

Not worth it, it's a total rip-off. Black mold, stray dogs, and stale food gave me food poisoning. I paid for an all-inclusive package to be told that snacks during the day and beverages between 11pm and 11am are chargeable, and the minibar in the room is empty. Old used towels and bedding and a very tiny strip of sand that can't be called a beach. There are better options on the island for the same money.

Ok so trying to be objective with this review. We came here to what we thought was a 4 star hotel. Sadly this in my experience is at best a low 3 star or high 2 star. I've travelled a lot and this wasnt 4 star standard that I've experienced before. First, the rooms aren't bad. The beds are fine, kept ok. But some aspects really poor, for example the tiles are quite visibly broken, and I even cut my hand on the corner of one in the shower. The cleaning team kept the room clean though. The pool area is fine although not nearly enough chairs out for the guests. It was a daily struggle to find space and this is when the hotel isn't full. The beach attached to the hotel is quite small and can't say much good or bad here, but not worth staying around for long. The service was actually very good from all the staff so can't fault them. All very friendly and professional. The location of the hotel is also not great. There isnt anything to do nearby, even in the nearby town which is a short bus ride away was only good for one market visit. Hotel gyms are notoriously bad. But this is probably the worst one so leave your kit at home. Now the worst part. Sadly the food was very basic. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was a shame that the food was this standard. Each day is very repetitive, and not always something nice. Breakfast was fine in fairness, bacon eggs sausage and fresh omelette. Lunch had a fresh food station sometimes having meat or sausages. Basic but ok. But dinner and snacks not good standard. Drinks also very poor. Order 2 of the same cocktails and you'll get 2 seemingly different drinks. Not made to what the actual cocktail is and taste poor quality too. Also no fresh coffee, just white or black from a machine. Real shame because this is probably a 3 star and wouldn't get hopes up. But there you go. Entertainment wasn't on every night so that's a shame too as nothing else to do here. One evening a week there was a girl singing though and she was the best entertainment the whole 2 weeks. If she was there more that would improve that at least. Overall if you get a good deal this is fine. But don't expect a 4 star. Get a car to travel, and don't come hungry

We had a pleasant stay there for 6nights. Very good for couples. They provide snorkelling and kayaking option on their private beach. Bar on the pool was great. Little bit disappointed with the food as the options were very limited. Location is far away from the tourist spots as well as airport.

Good experience. Warm welcome n quick check in by the receptionist Harshika who was very helpful n accomodating. Everyone was kind n good to us although the number of staff was quite limited..Food lacked variety but still very much ok. Room ok for a 3 star.(keep ur expectations low n reasonable! It's not a 5 star resort!) Beach n swimming pool fantastic especially for kids. Beverages at the bar was a disappointment. Well located. Overall nice experience.

Avoid at all cost. The food is revolting, limited in choice, Luke warm at best and poor hygiene standards. It was that bad we ate out 6 times out of 12. With the exception of two bar staff the rest are rude and and don’t know the meaning of customer service. None of them are happy are and quite sour faced. The bedrooms while spacious, and clean the bathroom is mouldy (black mould on tiles) and the plug holes smell vile. The pool is clean, but the jacuzzi doesn’t work and the swim up bar isn’t open. Sun loungers are either plastic, dirty and cracked or are wooden with cushions on, these are wet, smelly and mouldy. Entertainment is a pull down screen showing old 1980’s pop videos in a bar where the staff work in the restaurant and run up and down the stairs to serve you if they remember. This bar could seat 30 people comfortably but after that there wasn’t the space for anymore. There are several wild dogs who are friendly and don’t cause any problems, but one looks so close to death by starvation and mange that it is heartbreaking. All holiday makers try to feed the dogs but they need veterinary care. The cats on the other hand are well looked after.

Just returned from our stay at the hotel. Had a great stay and the staff were so amazing as were the facilities for the star rating. The only thing I could fault would be the lack of entertainment- there was a couple of people from a club there but to be honest they did very little to actually encourage anyone to join in activities

Extremely poor service. Was going to meet my family today for my Birthday drinks, was told the Hotel was fully booked, and would not accommodate one other person, Spoke with Duty manager who said she would ring back to see if it was possible for me to gain entry. She didn't bother to call me back. I had to ring back just to be told not possible. I won't be recommending this hotel as a Mauritius Resident to any of my Family friends in the future.

Staff working in the hotel nice and helpful, really great people - plus for bartenders and waitresses. Rooms spacious and clean, cleaned daily. Barking dogs in the house next door didn't bother us. Lizards prowling around the hotel didn't bother us either - it's normal in such countries. Breakfast was good, lunch and dinner were monotonous and bad for us. Hotel in terms of building and surroundings 3 stars max. Food selection is 1 star! Lunch and dinner were really terrible :( ... we had to eat out, otherwise I would have starved to death. I suggest changing the person responsible for the menu and introducing variety. French fries were only served once a week for dinner. Certainly the food is not adapted to European guests ... from the entire buffet you could create a maximum of 3 full dishes - it is absurd for me The fruit that was served during the 10 days of my stay - watermelon 3 times and it wasn't crazy, the rest of the days it was pineapple and papaya ... I expected something better for the price we paid for 10 nights...all inclusive over PLN 18,000 for two people...total absurd for me.We've been to many hotels but never in one with such a poor all inclusive...and for that reason I regret that we found ourselves there.I would call the hotel more of a sanatorium for the elderly. The location of the hotel is also so-so - far from everywhere and no shops nearby.I don't recommend a hotel with the all inclusive option, because it's not worth it. The breakfast-only option is relative. Personally, I would never go back to this place because of such poor and bad food. And if someone has weak nerves, it's better to give them a wide berth, my heart ached when I saw dogs coming starving the whole herd and the hotel forbids feeding them! For me, not a human approach, after all.

Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a deluxe room and it was huge, everything you needed but would say the beds were harder than I would like. Everywhere clean, it's a quiet hotel and on its own so good as a get away to relax. There is a drive/bus/taxi needed to visit places. I am coeliac and the restaurant were very helpful at dealing with separate meals etc for me. Would recommend!

The hotel did not meet the expectations. Cons: Pool opens after 8 AM when its time for one to go for activities. Closes before 5 PM when one reaches the hotel. Tell me how access the pool. Zero services at the room. Had to wait some 30 mins for a pint of beer. No room services. Management may take a note here. No night life in the area. Asked for a room upgrade after reaching, been >1 day and still waiting. Pros: Budget hotel. Peaceful location.

I was very disappointed with Vanessa Moonien, the hotel manager, trying to rip me off of 150 Euros for the airport transfer! This is outrageously steep price for the country where the minimum wage is 250 Euros a month!! The hotel receptionist refused to check me in until i have paid unreasonable transfer fee! Awful gesture to be treated this way after being 12 hours on the plane, i had to sit in a hot reception for an hour with my winter clothes on! The most shocking fact was that at the hotel reception they had a board with the airport taxi prices, showing a 2 way journey to the airport for 60 EUROS. So why the heck Vanessa tried to rip me off?! I had an argument with her about it and she promised to refund me the money and help me with a taxi back to the airport. Those were just an empty words, she has failed to help me and i didn't she the money she has promised to refund. Another disappointing fact - i was staying on a half board bases and all the drinks including a simple cup of tea or an orange juice were excluded from the package. I have been to 42 countries in my life, have stayed many times on half board bases but i have never come across that you are not allowed a free glass of orange juice at the dinner! Bearing in mind the orange juice is from the packet that cost hotel 40 cent to buy at the most. The hotel is advertised as with a "private beach". Well, the beach wasn't quite private cause you get local fishermen coming there to fish and the local women walking their kids when they have entire public beach to themselves. The 2 guys at the boathouse, keep remind you that the beach isn't private and the local people have the full right to access it. On a positive side the hotel rooms are big and nice, with a balcony. Food was quite good. Hotel staff is lovely and polite, cleaners do a very good job. It was a very quiet place until a group of drunk Romanians arrived causing nuisance at the pool, the beach and the restaurant. Guys, if you need to book a private airport transfer, do not use hotel services! There is an online company VIATOR and you can book an airport taxi for only $40. The cars they use are very nice - big and new.

Staff are amazing and friendly! Food was proper Mauritian food that reminded me of my childhood. Rooms were spotless. Definitely looking forward to coming back next year for my wedding.

Location is perfect as the beach is so much beautiful with lovely view. Rooms are little bit old but they are ok. Service was great, welcoming but wifi only worked for two phones. One withdraw about the resort is that people just leave their towels early morning in the chairs on the beach and leave it for the whole day without anyone stopping them, you just see towels and bags with no one around, just reserving the place which is unfair

As a 3* this hotel offers lovely food, spacious rooms in nice surroundings. It was advertised to us as a 4* so we expected a better choice of drinks and a bit more luxury but that wasn't the Hotels fault. The drinks were poor but the food generally really good - buffet style with excellent bombay potatoes and dahl. We went in June where it's the start of their winter, so expect mixed weather, the east coast seemed to have the most wind so we travelled north and west for better weather and sunsets. A car is a must for this area of the island if you'd like to explore, we personally felt we couldn't spend 2 weeks just in the hotel. It's an amazing island and worth a visit, Jalsa Beach was a good base for us.

Me and my husband stayed here for Christmas and the new year, when we first got there it was late and dark, we were both shattered from the travelling, as we walked to our room we thought , where have we come🫣 but as we got into the room is was very spacious and clean and the bed really comfortable. The following morning we stepped out onto our veranda the sun was shining and the view over the swimming pool and to the lagoon was incredible so beautiful, our stay was absolutely amazing, all the staff couldn’t do enough to please us, the food was all good especially Christmas Eve and NewYears eve, Rama booked us 4 trips which were all very good, and so was our guides they did an excellent job, we absolutely loved Jalsa beach, only one thing I didn’t like was the lizard in our room 😂 I did make the staff laugh cos I was screaming, thank you Jalsa beach for a really special holiday

Had a fabulous time here. Staff were excellent at all times. Artee and Mesue kept the room and perfect. Manisha was great at the bar , so was Fowder. omelette chef was spot on. Michelin chef front of house did everything for us if needed. Boat house guys were always great and the banter was first class. Sorry if I forgot anyone but would definitely go back to a quiet intimate venue that suited us. Value for money you cannot beat it. Thanks for a great holiday Jalsa. Tony and Lorraine.

Jalsa Beach Resort was a nice plays, I would however not recommend Jalsa for yung people or couples!!! my husband and I went 19 November for our honeymoon. We intended to have fun and romance etc, things people expect om a honeymoon, however Jalsa beach resort felt really dead, our first day we said to each other it feels like we are at a Retirement home for old people, there was no entertainment, not even in the restaurant, there were so many rules making it so boring, the swimming pool was closed at 7 at night already , and we understand that because people needs sleep, but when on holiday you at least want to swim at night as well so make at least the time a reasonable time as people dont sleep at 7 already, the pool lights was not even on, making it so dark, in the day, no fun things happening, just people sitting in silent, reading, so so quite, again not a place for fun but for old people. the hotel was beautiful and service was good, but can really give more attention on being a holiday resort and not a retirement home

Apart from the two women staff at the main bar most of the staff was rude and do not know about what is customer service called. Even if you tell them them you sounds rude still they argue why. I really want to point out about how rude the front staff was they actually destroyed our vacation. Better to choose some other place but not this. I don’t see any option to upload the picture but I have taken few of the mattress photo like some one Masterbated on it and room Service quickly came and put a bedsheet on it.

A luxury experience outside the country. Huge place, spacious rooms. Great sea views, big pool, good Indian as well as English breakfast. The resort offers in-house activities like kayaking, the double kayak experience was the most memorable part of my stay. They also have planned activities for their guests. They also have a souvenir/gift shop in-house.

Best service with the nicest and friendliest employees - whether at the pool bar (thanks for the mojitos ;)), in the restaurant, the maids or at the reception. Consistently great people. Thank you for the great stay. Would have liked to have stayed longer... Thank you and best regards from Germany!

Customer service was terrible. Limited activities in the day package. The food was average but lacked variety. It has only one swimming pool but was a small one too. The person at the boat house was always smoking on duty and was lacking customer professionalism. The extend of the hotel beach was scarse. No gym facilities but availability of carrom board and table tennis for those interested.

Lunch buffet was limited but good. Limited activities in the day package. Swimming pools was very nice and clean. Service was not good enough. The guy at the boathouse provided a terrible customer service. He had an excuse every single time we requested for a water activity.

Lovely hotel , lovely location quiet and very friendly staff . Staff made sure you were very welcomed . Food varied and chef Max tried to accommodate guests food wishes where possible . A lovely Birthday cake was made by the catering staff and they and Restaurant staff went out of their way to make sure I had a memorable day , Thank you all . Restaurant staff were exceptional as were pool bar staff . Reception staff made us welcome on arrival . Rooms could do with a bit of updating but kept clean and tidy by housekeeping staff . Would recommend this Hotel and we ( Husband and myself ) would go there again .

The hotel staff were so friendly as well as professional. Thank you to Dirish, the restaurant staff, Soohas and the rest of the staff in the pool bar. We had a brilliant holiday and you made our birthdays special. Kindest regards and thanks to you all - Janice and Dexter (the two blonde ladies 🤣).

Rooms were not cleaned prior to our arrival. Hotel in need of modernisation. Dinner good choice of main dishes but limited side dishes and almost non existent desserts. Breakfast however was good.

Overall stay was good. It’s a hotel with a private beach. Rooms were big and clean. The star performer is the restaurant staff who is ready to do anything possible to make your choice of food. I specially wants to mention Kajal in the restaurant. She is the gem and star. During our stay, she did everything in her capacity to make our dining experience memorable. Thank you Kajal..

Just beside the beach with a very friendly staff. Really enjoying my stay in the resort with wife and kid. Excellent beach and pool with well stocked bar

Not value. I went for dinner and paid almost same as those staying overnight. Customer Service average. Staff not friendly and do not seem trained to deal with customers. Food average. Entertainment almost nil for a Saturday evening.
