Please stay away! I’ve been a patient with this office for a couple of years. Even after moving an hour away, I continued my time as a patient. As this business harassed me about an overdue cleaning service, I finally had time to schedule an appointment in which Jessica at the front desk neglected to inform me that my insurance was out of network. I followed proper protocol by providing my insurance at the time of scheduling the appointment (the day prior) and upon checking in at the time of arrival I was still not informed that my insurance was out of network. Following the cleaning that has been free for years via my insurance carrier, I was welcomed with a bill that was several hundred dollars. I asked Jessica, why was I not notified about the discontinuance of my insurance from my last service until now, in which she responded that it is the job of my insurance carrier to do so. However, my insurance carrier later confirmed that it is policy for the dentist practice to inform the patient as they cannot predict which practice their member elects. I asked Jessica if they are able to bill me given that I was never informed prior to initiating the cleaning service in which she denied that request, leaving me to pay. After calling back to inquire about the possibility of a small compensation due to the misunderstanding, Jessica informed me that Dr. Patel did not entertain the issue which leaves me to believe she was ignored as well as my concerns. If you choose this practice, I highly recommend that you confirm the balance prior to the initiation of all services as it appears that their focus is to get you in the door, initiate service and fight you for your money later. Luckily, due to my connections, I’m escalating this matter to authorities to ensure this does not happen to other patients.

The hygienist was great but I was shocked at check out when I was informed that I had an outstanding balance of $500 from a procedure performed 6 months ago. I was given a treatment plan for the previous procedure with the price indicated and what fees the insurance company would pay and what my cost would be which I paid! I have been a patient at this practice for many years and have never experienced this! I was never informed about the bill nor that the dentist is no longer in network. I am very disappointed with the lack of transparency.

The dentist was great! However, the front desk staff and hygienist weren't as efficient in their job. I experienced misinformed price adjustments, codes not given to schedule next appointment, and being hung up on before final question was answered. The change in staff over the years has been a bit of a disappointment. I've been coming to this office for over 15 years, since my children were in elementary school (they are adults with children of there own now). I've never left feeling this dissatisfied before.

I was transfered over to Bhargav Patel, DMD. from the former owner of Melwood fanily dentistry. My experience with Patel was not a good one. He is all about making money instead of proposing the best treatment option and doing the procedure correct. He keeps recommending expensive treatment option which he did not execute correctly. I had a root canal the crown break after a year; Then I had an implant also, it was not done right. I ended up with a hole in my tooth. I had to change my dentist to get this fixed. Please do not go there for any major dental treatment.

My first time going to Melwood Family Dentistry was a great experience. Felt comfortable and have experienced staff that good advice on my dental care. Their x-ray machine had the latest technology that could speak to the technician when the machine was ready to take an x-ray.

I highly recommend Dr Patel. He is a very good dentist. He took great care during tooth extraction and entire experience was painless. Kudos to the staff too who treated patients with care. Overall great experience.

I had been going to the dentist for about 3 plus years and never paid for a cleaning until August 25, 2023, and when I told them I never paid for a Cleaning I was told my provider will only covet 80 percent. After contacting my provider and explaining the situation I was told that the dentist had left the network back in January and thats why I was charge $173. I am no longer a patient because the dentist office was not forthcoming in saying they were no longer in network. I paid a $173 for something that would have been covered 100 percent. Transparency is everything!

The customer service at this office is unmatched. They take care of you as soon as you walk in. They have the best playlists. Can’t forget the doc, he’s really knowledgeable. He doesn’t force anything on you but does provide the warnings. Definitely feel comfortable and would recommend this dental office to anyone!
