What an amazing place. Staff dressed in character costume and a lovely, authentic museum showing what it would have been like to live here back in the day. The staff showed us how the trebuchet worked (don’t worry about health & safety, as long as no one stands in the target area 100yds away, it’ll be ok). Loved every minute of our visit. Run by the community so please support them with a visit. Extremely reasonable entry cost.

Beautiful and well restored medieval fortress, right at the top of a rocky mount, with plenty of attractions and interesting guided tour. Well worth the trip. Ideal for children and grown ups.

Incredible!!! Friendly staff even dressed up with the terrible August heat (I admire and respect their dedication) a great tour inside the fortress with a lot of interesting things learnt. Tickets were surprisingly affordable (5€ for the guided tour) which I think is cheap for the location and history. There is a little bit of a steep walk uphill to arrive but is definitely worth it when you get to the top. Definitely a place to visit!

Schöne und toll gelegene Festung. Es ist ein leichter Fußmarsch vom Parkplatz aus nötig, der eine schöne Aussicht auf die Gebirgslandschaft bietet. Menschen mit eingeschränkter Mobilität können eine Minizahnradbahn nach vorheriger Anmeldung nutzen. Die Anlage ist insgesamt sehr gepflegt und man bekommt eine Karte mit wichtigen Stationen für den Rundweg mit. Eine gute Idee sind die Tafeln, die aufzeigen wie die Festung restauriert wurde. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Burgen und Festungen in Europa gibt es hier recht wenig zu sehen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich aber auf jeden Fall. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Alles ist mit viel Liebe gestaltet. Hunde sind erlaubt.

Wir waren an einem Donnerstag da und standen leider vor verschlossenen Türen. Aber der Aufstieg hat sich trotzdem gelohnt! Wunderschöne Aussicht rings um die Burg!

Fantastic Fort with medieval history.

Amazing 10th Century fortress, restored, and presented as an interactive experience. Multilingual presentors, in period dress guide you through the site. Worth the 5 euro entry and the steep 10 minute climb.

Wahnsinnige Aussicht, sehr freundliches Personal, tolle Festung. Hatte im Vorfeld die Anfrage ob es die Festung auch ohne Führung gibt und bekam sehr schnell und sehr freundlich eine positive Antwort. Definitv einen Besuch wert.

Ein Ort mit viel Geschichte, sehr sehenswert. Wir sind spontan hingefahren und hatten das Glück, ohne Vorbestellung Tickets für die einstündige Führung zu bekommen. Wer in der Nähe ist, sollte sich die ehemalige Festung unbedingt anschauen 👍🏻

Sehenswerte Festungsruine mit herrlichem Ausblick ins Umland. Vom Parkplatz aus über einen ansteigenden Fußweg zu erreichen. Es werden Führungen geboten. Da diese schon ausgebucht waren, gab es einen Preisnachlass beim Eintritt.

Nach einem ca. 10 minütlichen Anstieg erreicht man die Burg. Nach 4€ Eintritt ist man dann drin. Größe überschaubar, Zustand hervorragend und zudem nette Ausblicke. Ist man in der Nähe auf jeden Fall ein TODO. Eine weite Anreise lohnt sich nicht.

Incredibly restored and well kept castle, with amazing views in all directions. Friendly staff, cheap entrance, cheap food and drinks on-site. Just beware the walk up (from the parking) is quite steep and long (10-15 minutes).

Cosplay guides are magnificent, their English is really good.

Great spot with amazing views. Admission is probably only worth it if you take the tour or it is fully open with events on.

Brilliant place. Walked from the activity centre ..about 30 minutes. Various activities for kids and the views are amazing! Need to plan times if using miniature railway for last section of walk up.

This beautiful Medieval fort has reopened, a historical place to visit. Thank you to the staff for the fun, info-packed tour. We hope more people, children, families will come to enjoy.
