👍 Beautiful trails with lots of trees, animals, plants, flowers, the Fox River AND TICKS. My husband contracted lime after a walk in these trails. Beware! People often mention River, trails, river,

This is a Lush hiking trail. There are two major trails one mostly for biking, which is paved and the other is by the river, in the woods. There are ticks during spring season. Kayaking, fishing and even speedboat are accessible in the river. There is a beautiful long bridge, which connects to a small island in the middle of the river. A really great view from the place.

Loved it!!! Trails were clear. We hit some great hills, twisty turns and wooded areas.

Just love this forest preserve. Have picnics tables. A trail under the trees a plus. And a River, my favorite part. Have one bathroom very clean and well cared the whole park.

This is a great nature preserve!!! There is wide variety of trees to discover on its beautiful trails.🌳 And the place is full of history. Located on the east side of the 🦊Fox River by Five Islands.🛶

Nice path through the forest down to the river. A little muddy so wear some shoes with lots of grip.

Great place for hiking. Lots of good trails along the Fox River. Trails can take you to south Elgin, Saint Charles or Wayne County.

Beautiful woods scenery right along the river. Muddy after a rain but overall very pretty area.

What a lovely forest preserve with many trails in the woods, ample places to watch birds, butterflies and more and enjoy the freshness around nature. Easily accessible from the Jon Duerr Forest Preserve as well by walking across the wooden bridge that goes across the Fox River. Limited restrooms available near the parking lot.

These woods have a creepy energy if you go off the pavement path. Great for those ghost hunters and adventures. It gets a stronger feeling closer to the river so take the paths closer to the water and deeper into the woods. Just be careful of all the raised up roots that will catch your feet. We found foundations to old cabins and other structures that would be great to run a high quality metal detector around if you are an artifact hunter. They also have a paved parking lot with a built restroom but I don't think they clean it daily or even weekly as you can smell it once you exit your vehicle. So we don't advise picnicking or BBQing here.
