Authentic Spanish restaurant and bar. An amazing find 90 minutes south of Sydney centre, and with the trip for their paella. If you're lucky you'll have a Spanish guitarist and maybe a touch of flamenco if someone is moved to get up and dance. I'll be back.

Hands down the best Spanish restaurant in NSW. The amount of attention to detail that Bianca and her team put into their dishes is amazing. I had to go back the day after to try the rest of their dishes and am already planning on going back again. If you haven't, give this place a go. Totally recommended.

Great authentic tasting Spanish food! Next best thing to a trip to Spain. We loved every dish we had. One was a favourite my mother used to make many years ago so I wanted to give it a try. It was so similar- and just as good! I had double the enjoyment of a delicious dish and the nostalgia - thank you! This is a great restaurant to have in the gong and will be added to our list of regulars.

There is no place like AMONA.. The staff make you feel like family and the food is on a different level! Since returning back to Wollongong my partner and I have gone out to dinner 4 times and every time has been to AMONA’s. Absolutely unbeatable! Croquettes and the Calamari are the best I’ve ever had!

What an amazing experience, felt like we were back home! Delicious homemade food, truly grandma's recipes. Forget about any of the other tapas restaurants in the Illawarra and book a table here, you won’t regret it!! The food is to die for and the service was top notch as well! We were a table of 6 who ordered cocktails, beers, 3-4 tapas dishes each plus dessert and the bill came to around $90 each which is very reasonable for the quality food and service… We will 100% be back!!

It was nice, it's not the best Spanish food I've ever had but it was nice. The potata's and prawns were nice. Service was quick and good. The owner came out to greet some customers (not us) I hear she is very passionate. I had a margaritas 🍹 which wasn't that nice and different to what I expected, but the sangria was lovely the best I've had. Overall a good date night location.

What a great restaurant the food is authentic well presented and tatses absolutely wonderful. I'm really impressed with the staff and family atmosphere, how often do you have the owner come to your table to help you find dishes to suit your tastes and make you feel you are special. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our evening there. I'm now about to pre order a specialty meal that takes some time to prepare, it's for a number of people so when we arrive it will ready for us. Now that really is the way you want to be treated. If you are after an authentic Spanish Fiesta then make sure you arrange a night at Amona's. The food is extraordinarily delicious. Make sure you pre order the Paella, we had the vegetarian and it did not disappoint. The service and atmosphere is outstanding.

We were made to feel very welcomed as we celebrated my Father's birthday. Organizing our menu with Blanca was so very easy and she gave us great options. Wonderful service from all the staff, delicious Tapas and Paella made for a very special night for our family. Blanca the owner was a wonderful host, she looked after every detail and made up a wonderful sign for Dad. She made our night so much fun, taking my Dad out to dance was so sweet. Thank you for an amazing evening, we ate and enjoyed ourselves, we will definitely be back!!

Had another fantastic night at Amona's! The service and vibe were just awesome, but let's talk about the real star of the show: the food. It's like a delicious trip back to my grandma's kitchen. You can't go wrong with the Chorizo a la Plancha and those marinated baby octopus – seriously, try them! We got a bit adventurous with our drinks this time and had the frozen margarita and espresso martini, both of which were a pleasant surprise. And the seafood paella? Absolutely amazing! Just remember, if you want any paellas, make sure to order it a day in advance. Big thanks to Amona for another lovely night out! 😊

Fabulous food great atmosphere

We were disappointed, the atmosphere was flat, the service average, and it was a stitch up. I had a mojito, it came in a thimble of a glass, tasted like soda water mixed with something out of a can, the $30 king prawns was literally 3 king prawns with some mayo type sauce, the food was a stitch up for what it was, and nobody likes to feel like they’ve been deliberately stitched up. Always happy to pay good money for quality, so we wont be going back there. Give it a miss.

Paella was 10/10 recently went to Spain and this was better than Spain. Must visit

We were recommended Amona and decided to try it out for our wedding anniversary and weren't dissapointed. Everything was spot on, the service and staff, the food was fabulous. We will be returning :)

Food was delicious,however they charge a 10% surcharge fee on weekends. We were not made aware of this and we also didn't see it. When I rang to to discuss the surchage..they said it's written in the menu. Just a little sneaky I think. Wages do not change on Saturday's to implement this kind of surcharge,and 10% is alot when their prices are not cheap to begin with. It's like forced tipping. Won't go back.

This Tapas Bar was absolutely amazing! The fresh home made food and dips, the baby Octopus so soft, so much flavour! the calamari OMG melts in yout mouth the croquettes were to die for. Everything we ordered was so beautiful you taste and see the love and time put into it. The staff were brilliant with great service. Thank you so much we will definitely be back ❤🤤

Amazing, authentic Spanish food! Not the watered down versions other places offer! I lived in Spain for a year and I have been looking for a place that captured the flavorful simplicity of Spanish cooking. I have finally found it and it’s only down the street from me! Go with friends to get the best of the sharing! And the desserts were perfect!!!

A great menu of appetising, tasty tapa dishes and an impressive selection of Spanish wine and beer. Super friendly service too.

We started with the red wine sangria and garlic and herb bread. Then moved on to a tomato and olive salad, patatas bravas ( excellent) and two types of croquettes - one chicken and one with spinach and cheese, and a wonderfully tasty Spanish omelette and the pork meatballs. We had hoped to enjoy a dessert each - the home made crème caramel sounded great as did the churros served with chocolate sauce….but sadly we were full so finished our evening with an espresso each.The food was truly excellent and reminded me of a happy few days I had spent in San Sebastián.The staff were attentive and friendly and ai thoroughly recommend that you go.

Would give more stars if I could. Food absolutely amazing. Service top shelf even after I accidentally broke the pepper shaker. The food is authentic Spanish food exactly what you would get if you walked the streets of Spain.

Authentic Spanish food and amazing hospitality. A hidden gem that should be much more popular or a must go to stop off if you are travelling through the area. Great for dinner or even a casual drink with tapas.
