Such a memorable time at Rizla. I went there for a post-dinner wine not realising that they have a full food menu. All of the dishes we had were incredible - super fresh and tasty - but the best part was the service. They were so welcoming and chatty. We had a great time here!

Andy, Jake and Tom took great care of us. Excellent food, the tuna tartare starter and the ricotta doughnuts for dessert were particular highlights. Being a Riesling novice, I went with their recommended options and was not disappointed! I look forward to the next time I get the opportunity to go back!

Our first visit was a 5 star experience, this time round I'd have to say it wasn't as great. 4 of us did the $75pp menu. The 2 mains were underwhelming and servings small for 4 people. Sides and entrees were fine. Desserts a standout. Wines great, service fantastic. Ambience nice and cosy.

Andy and his team made sure we were well looked after all night. A small delay to our table; apologised for with some Riesling on the house. Food & wine pairing was excellent. We’ll be back.

Dropped in for a quick wine and a sample of the menu. Wow. Great vibe extensive wine list and the raw fish dish was amazing. Worth coming back just for that. NOT the place to come if you want a beer (a couple of Canberra classics if you really want one). It’s a wine bar. Andy has done a fantastic job. Will be back.

What a memorable experience, the service was out of this world and it was awesome food. The owner was so passionate and really did everything to ensure we had a great Sunday lunch. We will be back for sure. We ordered the “sort it out” menu which was the chefs selections and it was a perfect amount of food. The snapper main and tuna entree were the stand outs!! Thank you

Recommend their set menu which is affordable by Canberra standards ($65pp), tastes good, and is filling (for our group of 4, we were given: x3 entrees, x2 mains with x3 sides, and x2 desserts). The portion sizes are really well considered with equal servings provided for each person in a group (we were pleasantly surprised that each person got to have the same number of dessert donut balls)! The mushroom main was an amazing highlight from an overall tasty menu. Service was good.

Andy and the Rizla team looked after our big group of 21 last weekend for a big celebratory lunch. We did the ‘Sort it out’ menu for $80 per head, and a 2 hour drinks package. Everything was absolutely amazing. The service was fantastic, and all our people felt so looked after, including never an empty drink. The food was delicious and plenty of it, despite warnings of their very small kitchen - you could not tell. We had the beautiful little outdoor area running along the side of the restaurant all to ourselves, which we all loved. Big thanks to Andy and the team. We couldn’t recommend more!

Without a doubt the best wine bar in Canberra! Service was so lovely and personable, the wine list was extensive but easy to manage. First rate. Extraordinary list of Rieslings - and good advice when we were stuck for options on our second bottle. Lovely, wine friendly food with the option to feed the table working well - maybe just a touch too much food, but not complaining! Pleasant, laid back service. Good pacing of the courses. We do like our Rieslings, so this makes a fine alternative to Vincent in Barton.

This is our favourite place to eat in Canberra. From the first time we met Andy just after opening we have never been disappointed in any of our numerous visits. Andy clearly has an eye for choosing staff who, like him, are kind, highly skilled and well informed. This time we took 2 UK friends and 2 WA friends and one of us could only eat steamed rice (not on the menu). All the visitors were amazed by their gastronomic experience. The UK pair said the food was far more exciting than their recent visit to an Ottolenghi restaurant in London. Well done team, we will be back again soon. 🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

My house mate and I love this place. It is consistently great. Amazing food, wine and service! We live in the city and this is our go too! We just ordered take away tonight and they put just as much care into their takeaway orders. A big thanks to Andy, the chef and team!

We've eaten at Rizla 7 times in the past 15 months both in the restaurant & take away during lockdown. It is always fantastic. Food is always on point, generous portion sizes, and the service is some of the best in the Berra. The food is always fresh and seasonal. The team is always wiling to provide wine advice suited to your budget & taste. Andy and the team have created a casual fine dining experience that is unlike any other. Great job guys.

Came here for dinner last Saturday as part of a small group. My partner and I got the option where they just bring you food to suit what you're drinking - and we were extremely well fed! Standouts were the tuna tartare, brussels sprouts, charred corn and the doughnuts. Staff were lovely - never overbearing, made sure we were comfortable at our outdoor table, and gave us some knockout wine recommendations. One person in our party is coeliac, and they made sure to mark all dishes that were gluten free or could be altered to accommodate. We felt like it was good value, a great night and are already planning a return visit.

What a most amazing and delicious meal with fabulous service from Andy. Sorry only one photo as we couldn't wait to eat the delicious offerings!! I'm not usually one for raw seafood, but the tuna tartare with home made crisps was DIVINE! The confit tomato with black garlic and macadamia butter on toast was fresh and zingy. Mains my friend ordered pork loin and kimchi-kraut - was tasty but I think my dish, Spanish mackerel w chickpea cassoulet was the winner. My dessert - ricotta doughnuts with caramelised white chocolate and orange 4 ways - I could eat that every day for the rest of my life and I'd be the happiest gal on earth!!! Will definitely be back to the tiny restaurant that packs a very huge punch!! Good on you Andy and your staff for making Rizla a very special place indeed!!

This place is outstanding. Great wine bar that serves really tasty food ( shared plates). The staff are very friendly and hugely knowledgeable on wines - especially Riesling. Most table are outside ( undercover with heaters) so come well dressed in winter. We are from Melbourne and we have many great wine bars but this place would holds its own amongst the best.

Went for a mid-week dinner with a group of four and it was excellent. The food sounds simple on the menu, but it was all well executed and delicious. Plates came out at a nice pace and were well portioned for easy sharing. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the excellent wine list.

I was looking for wine tastings in Canberra and was recommended to Rizla by a friend of a friend. I was a little hesitant to go as I'm not a white wine person but our friendly waitress was patient enough to recommend some whites and reds according to our palate. The German riesling they served for us was the best white I've ever had! I went 3 weeks ago and every day I wish I could have a glass (and bottle). The food was sensational too- complimented very well with our wines. Great staff, delicious food and a very nice list of regional + international wines. I will definitely go every single time I visit canberra- it's just that good!!!

Loved Risla, even though I’m not a riesling fan! Food and service were top notch. Did I say how good the food was? Seriously unexpected quality. Massive kudos to these guys and to the owner. A promise of more reds in winter will definitely be a plus (well for me at least)

Impromptu dinner at Rizla with a friend last night. So glad we tried it. I have coeliac a disease so eating out can be challenging and stressful sometimes. It was an amazing meal. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable about allergens AND allergen cross contamination. Filled me with confidence it would be a safe option and it was. We enjoyed the beef cheeks and brussel sprouts but they were able to tailor most things on the menu and even offered a delicious gf dessert opinion that wasn’t on the menu (Riesling poached pear) 😋 Great selection of wines too. I would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Didnt get a chance for a photo this time but what a place! Food on point and the wine selection just outstanding. Big on the Riesling but can match anything to their unique fresh food menu. Highly recommended we will go back time and time again when the kids grand parents are over!

Six of us went there during our visit in January. We were lucky enough to be served by Alex(?) the owner who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and most welcoming. The food selection was right on the money and everybody in our party was blown away by the complete dining experience. I would recommend a visit here any time.

The food. The wine. The service. The location. All of it something to applaud. One of the hidden gems of Canberra. Would reccomend for a lowkey date or any occasion where a nice glass of wine could only brighten the evening. Charlotte and Andy were incredible. Brilliant service.

A small restaurant /café with a tapas style menu of small and medium sized dishes to share. There is a good wine list of mostly white wines, many from the Canberra region. Staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Menu items are well prepared with bold flavours.
