Overpriced and very ordinary. Good location, however the description of the rooms does not match the reality. “King size bed” means a small double. “Complimentary bottle of wine with each room”, well someone designing the website just made that bit up! Smelly bathroom and bring your torch. Staff were friendly, but mostly NFI. On check-in we mentioned we had an early flight and were advised that reception was open 24 hours. No one to be found when we had to leave, and entrance locked. We had to go behind the reception counter to unlock doors and let ourselves out.

Nomad Enigmatic Hotel we have had the displeasure of experiencing your hotel for two nights in two different private rooms. Upon checking in we had to pay for the room in Mexican pesos which is understandable but as the room rate was reserved in usd and the hostel enforced a very unfair exchange rate, so we ended up paying 5usd a night more! The first room we checked into had dirty bed sheets with blood, makeup and brown stains ( see images).A strong smell of damp, and none of the windows could be opened to air out the room. After bringing this to the attention of your staff they were not very apologetic and offered us another room as their was no spare sheets. The second room also had a very strong smell of damp with mold on the walls and ceiling’s, also the windows could not be opened and the extract fan in the bathroom did not work The air conditioner leaked at night, and every time you turned the shower on a very loud rattling noise came from the pipes. We have been traveling for over 9 months now and experienced many hostels and for this price range $50- $60 this hotel is unfortunately a very big disappointment and has a-lot of work to do as the current standards reflect a hotel of around $15. Hope you take the above feedback onboard.

I'm just speechless about this place. I booked a private room and as soon as I got in, there was a strong damp smell and I noticed some black mould clearly visible on the wall. I obviously asked for another room which had a very similar smell, and although no mould was visible I'm pretty sure it has just been painted over. Next unpleasant surprise was the shower which has not been cleaned - full of hair and a used soap was still lying in the corner. As mentioned by other guests, noise is all around, so don't expect to get a good night of sleep even in a private room - the windows don't help much and it feels like sleeping in the middle of a night club. The photos of this place looked beautiful but the cleanliness and the smell of the rooms is absolutely appalling.

This place is very well maintained. It has many amenities, including pool, tattoo shop, restaurant, etc. The staff are very helpful, in helping find things to do and where to go. The hotel also sets up its own activities to see Cancun. Leonel, Luis and Yas were very helpful and kind

This place is just fantastic. It’s like a little oasis in the concrete jungle. The place has really nice vibes and the staff is extremely friendly. Everybody is really welcoming and kind. It’s good to start every day with a smile. I stayed here for two weeks and I loved every minute of it. They also have a co-working space, which came handy as I work remotely. It’s well-equipped and cozy. Location wise it’s right in the center, very easy to find, a quick walk from the airport bus station. There are great restaurants and all sort of stores nearby.

just look at the pics. Stunning little gem. We have stayed there only for a day before going to Tulum. Place decor is fantastic. Staff is super friendly and shared so many perks which we have used across the country. Room was brilliant. And yes despite is a hostel you can get your private room. Pool is sec away, breakfast cafes only 2 mins away. Beautiful setting with benches and bar area. see it for yourself

This place was beautiful - the photos don't do it justice. There's a lovely spot by the pool with hammocks and palm trees. We had a private room with a large shower, complementary towels and toiletries. Great location close to great spots to eat. The only downside was that when we asked for a local recommendation for great tacos, they recommended their sister party hostel which was fine, but would have preferred an unbiased (and better) recommendation. I'll take that one on the chin though!

We stayed two nights in the Enigmatic Hotel. The location is pretty good, you find some cool and delicious restaurants and coffees around. Our room was not what we expected from the photos. The room smelt like mold and there was only a really small window, we felt like in a cellar. There was not even a bedside table. Phones and books had to stay on the beton floor during the night. A bit disappointed - for what we payed, we wouldn't stay there again.

Very dishonest, tried to charge me more by $20.00 upon arrival and claimed they had their own social exchange rate through HostelWorld. No. Just No.

The hotel is…ok but the staff was quite rude. Not a good atmosphere. Our room was a suite, the AC and the bed were decent, but the bathroom and mobiliary pretty old and decadent. The hotel was practically empty and it was only september.

Now a Nomads hostel/hotel but better than most other Nomads facilities, for the moment at least. A cool boutique hotel and immaculately clean. Dorm aircon 24/7. Nice kitchen in need of some repairs - and cups and glasses. One coffee cup. Excellent friendly cleaning staff and staff in general. Nice little pool with sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon. Walk from ADO. A few issues which should be addressed. Cleaning staff should be given a checklist so that maintenance issues can be addressed or the property will slowly degrade. Examples: broken hinges on the kitchen cabinets, two burners out on the stove, melanine plates are apparently not microwave safe - they are ALL scorched from arcing and the microwave itself has quite a large hole in the back, presumably from an arcing episode. Need some new pans. Toilet supply line was leaking in Tequila Sunrise. I tightened it by hand and it stopped. Shower on the left has something wrong with the cold water tap. Doesn't flow at all and then suddenly gushes. Risk of scalding from hot water in the meantime. Washroom needs a door on it and ventilation fan to prevent odours and humidity from filling the dorm. (Excess humidity will affect aircon, necessitating frequent cleaning and heat from the showers is an unnecessary additional load. Dorm was actually too cold. A degree or even two warmer would be sufficient. These are not complaints. I thoroughly enjoyed my two nights there. The building itself is wonderful, but with hostel loads it will take a bit more effort to keep it that way - and most guests won't tell you these things. The bar is too expensive to be a popular spot, though food prices are in range for occasional meals. I guess that's Cancun in a nutshell though. That's it! Thanks for the wonderful sleep! Cheers!

The positive: It was pretty central to the good food and in close proximity to the ADO. The negative: The room on my first night seemed fine but the other nights out of the time I stayed here the AC was dripping water onto the floor. It was so bad I could have slipped and fallen. There was black mold on the walls. It's all I could smell. Told the reception and the guy didn't seem to care...

Nice boutique hotel/hostel in a great location in Cancun! This hotel is within walking distance to some of the hippest restaurants, bars and coffee shops in Cancun. The decor of the hotel is very lovely, with a hipster vibe that reminded me of Tulum. Hotel staff are friendly, and the guests are mostly young travelers. They also have group activities such as bike tours. The walls are a bit on the thin side, so I would recommend bringing ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. Overall this hotel has a lot of character, good value and a fantastic location in downtown Cancun.

This is by far the best Hostel accommodation in Cancun, safe neighbourhood, fantastic rooms and ambiance—every corner is filled with great details and great taste. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Great places to eat just 50 yards away. Highly recommend

This is my first hostel in Cancun, and it's been a wonderful experience. First of all, the front desk service was excellent. Especially RUBI, she went above and beyond, helping me call the locksmith and made an appointment in Spanish when my car key was locked in the trunk. The room was cleaned every day, and the location is conveniently located closed to transportation, restaurants, and convenient stores. The price is very reasonable for the room. I highly recommend them.

Great. No curtain on the beds for privacy. Gave us sheets for blankets. Other than that great hostel! Beautiful in fact. also my charger kept falling out of the outlet anytime I moved.

Stunning location and a pleasure to stay in this beautiful hotel! The rooms were clean and comfy and all the staff is so friendly and kind. The activities are great and easy to join. It’s easy to move around to other places to visit. I’m happy with my visit and totally worth it! Many thanks to Lisa and Carlos 😊

I had a really nice stay! The room was clean and it was quite calm but i liked that! Also the neighborhood feels very safe and Oxxo is around the corner. The pool is nice as well. The guy, Leonel, helped me really good and spoke English very well.

It was an overall nice experience in Cancun Downtown. The hotel is a nice, chilled spot where you can relax in a hammock, get a tattoo or a massage. The place feels very cozy and is build in a style of a small village. The rooms were tidy, clean and comfy. They were also offering so many activities like yoga (free!), bike rental (350 mxn) and even a BBQ Poolparty or Taco Tour. Many thanks to Carlos, Diamante and Paulina! The staff was amazingly helpful with all my questions what to do and where to find the best cheap places. For under 1$ you can grab a Collectivo and drive to the beautiful beaches. ;) I would definitely come back

Amazing hostel in amazing location! Everything about this place was perfect. Note that there is a nice pool area on the back part that a lot of people don’t know of!

  • 2/5 Alonso C. 2 years ago on Google
Very noisy room, even though was a private one, it happened to have the water pump that distributes the water to the hostel so it was extremely noisy. I had to ask and they somehow stop it. Strong smell to mould in the room too. Service was good they let us keep the bags for the day whilst we discovered Cancun. We have also rented a bike from the hostel which was pretty convenient!

Very well put together hostel, communal areas and rooms in immaculate condition. Our first time in Mexico and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, especially Leonel. Great location next to good value food markets and bars. Will definitely stay again next time in Cancun.

Amazing hostel, we loved our stay here , great location with lots of happening and affordable food and drinks nearby. We enjoyed our stay so much that we chose to book here again for our last night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you Nomads!

We (a couple) stayed here for a couple of nights. Unfortunately, it was not very busy at the time we visited this hostel (or people weren’t really interested in being in the social bits of the hostel). We stayed in a private room, which was good value for money. Air conditioning worked very well and the room was very clean and nicely decorated. Nothing much, no tv and no bed stands, so it’s just a private room in a hostel. We really liked this hostel because of the location, you’re in the middle of Cancun downtown and close to everything. There’s a bar strip quite close and there are a lot of nice restaurants close by. Furthermore, the neighborhood feels relatively safe for Cancun. The ADO bus to the airport or other cities leaves at the bus station in downtown, which is a five minute walk from the hostel. Finally, the hostel staff really tried to help us many times and we could go there with multiple questions during our stay. So that’s why it’s five stars, mostly because of the service and the location.

Do not, I repeat: DO NOT, go with their option of car rental. It's called Ask & Go, but it's nowhere to be found online so I guess this is my way to leave a review. That was my worst experience with renting a car, period. They tried screwing me every which way they could. An example, the hidden 8% fee you pay over your 'deposit'. Normally the deposit constitutes a certain amount blocked on your card. Here, they let you pay the deposit, charge you an 8% fee (which they never say anything about) and pay you back in dollars at their own made-up exchange rate. If I would've made a show out of this, this would've cost me about an extra day of rental. Furthermore, they were three hours late, the car had dog hairs, no window fluid and the contact I had kept calling me 'bro' every chance he got. And then some. I wish I would've chosen another company. Read other reviews for how the rooms are etc. I think it all depends on which room you get, cause ours was rather fine. Guy at the bar was an arse though. A shout-out to the guy who did my reception, but unfortunately I forgot his name. Javier?

The best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, helpful and friendly. The property is immaculate. Every twist and turn feels like a tropical magic garden oasis. My room had vaulted ceilings, a walk in closet with a 7 foot mirror. So many windows creating bright and airy natural light. The photos when I booked my room did not prepare me for how awe dropping it would be ! Hidden diamond. Highly recommend! ❤️

I booked a tour with them using their virtual assistance. The tour was cancelled due to bad weather, I asked for a refund and they agreed. It’s been over a month and they didn’t return the money for this. Please be careful, since they are not reliable.

I don‘t recommend this place, due to my bad experience. The room was very rustical with only a bed. Did not match with the pictures. Three water or toilet pipes were at our ceiling. The air conditioner was not functioning properly and did not cool the room really down. Also the power outlets were not able to hold the power adapter.

We make a reservation for quiet room. We get room with some stupid electric generator or what was it behind wall so it was noisy all night. When we asked receptionist what is that, he asked as if its not water drops falling...Then he came to room and said its cables from outside(whats is bull..., as sound come from behind our wall) and he said he will check it, but he didnt even come back to room say something...Room was also dark because light has stupid cover and on the other hand when we turned off our light in room was light from outside as doors were from glass...Fridge in kitchen was totally full...So not good experience at all

Stayed there for a week for work. What is nice: the green territory is awesome, pool looks nice, food is tasty and people in the restaurant are nice. WiFi worked fine except late evenings. What I didn't like: - The room is super small with a tiny window. Ancient ac (though it was changed during my stay, so should be fine). In general the whole building feels old, the room included. Maybe not hostel ones are better. - Bedsheets are just a disaster. Not pleasant and really old. - The “private bathroom” is outside of the room, smells bad, the faucets work bad in the sink and in the shower too. Need to wait for around 5 min for water to become warm - for a first time I met a receptionist, who doesn't speak english. Overall the hostel room doesn't cost it, but I really LOVED the territory. Another hostel from nomads (party) was way better inside the rooms and costs much less.

This was my first hostel experience. To me it’s the best Nomad in Cancun. I thoroughly enjoyed the environment and meeting all the different people from all around the world. Everything went smoothly and the staff was great with customer service. Areli and the other cleaning crew did a great job at making sure our rooms etc was clean. Angel, Peter, Francisco, Vivi, & Ale made me feel very welcomed ! I’ll be back ☺️

Good place to stay in cancun not too far from the main bus stop. Friendly staff and modern styled room. Only down fall was the shower was really bad and cold also! We only stayed 1 night but would have been a problem if we were there longer.

OK, so if you are looking for a good bed, good conditionair, hot water and of course the swimming pool, this is the place. It’s a very chill place with all you need ( free of the craziness of the hotel area) Oxxo in the corner, good bars and reataurant all around the area, ADO station really close, Palapa walking street 5 mins, you also have really nice activities like beach group everyday, yoga in the morning, drinks at the Rooftop or The Party hostel which are the other two hostels from the same brand. But this one is special, not too crazy not too quiet. They are building a Coworking space so that might me very nice once is running. Habid, Dona, Francisco, Hector, Angel and all the volunteers they will treat you like you’re are home. Thumbs up for this people and place here : )

Nice place to stay and a very good location central to a lot of bars and restaurants and in walking distance from the ADO bus station. The only downside was the first bed we slept in was a little hard and the bathroom was a little smelly but it is a bathroom after all. Overall would recommend this place and would stay here again.

  • 3/5 Van S. 1 year ago on Google
Positive: the hotel is near to the Ado bus station which was all we were looking for. Also, the patio is quite pretty and there is a lot of space to sit & chill. Negative: the bathroom wasn’t clean, everything is a bit overused & the dirt on the walls & ceilings is disgusting. Plus sleeping was impossible as it felt like trying to sleep on a dance floor. The music was incredibly loud although there were not more than 5 people in the bar at 11 p.m. We asked how long the DJ will be playing music & the receptionist said midnight. Unfortunately, he didn’t stop until after 1 a.m. I wish they have told us.

So the rooms are not as the pictures published. Our room was in a very bad shape, humid, with mold smell and no light. For the price we paid we expected more. On the other hand the guys in the reception were always very friendly. The WI fi works very well and the common areas are pretty cool ist a putty that the rooms were not nice at all.

2nd Nomads hotel I have stayed after the rooftop one. Ethnic interior and amenities as library space were nice and impressive. However the washroom was located outside of the room, and only one person could occupy at a time which was pretty inconvenient. The odor and the garbage were not well taken care of either. One of the staff made his(or her) face without eye contacting, and expressed hatred when he faced me check-out. He asked me to untie my bracelet by myself instead of cutting it, and didn't even try to find my ID but asked me what kind and color of ID I left, but I still said thank you with manner. Guess it was actually unprofessional regardless what his personal dislikes were about me.

We had a wonderful stay at Nomads Enigmatic Hotel & Restaurant! It is located in a quite quiet area and the place itself has a very nice atmosphere. There are different types of rooms, I highly recommend getting the deluxe room. Also, they provide good service and are very attentive to your needs!
