The food was great! Super authentic and tasty. The mariachis were on point and really talented. The venue is very pretty. Our servers Ohlan and Balthazar were amazing. We couldn’t ask for a better dinner night.

If you get servers Jorge and Damian you are lucky! They were amazing!! The food is phenomenal. There isn't anything on the menu that wouldn't be fabulous! The drinks are so delicious!! There is a Mariachi band that comes to each table while dining! Definitely a must stop for dinner while in Cancun Mexico 💙

Great atmosphere but unsure if they were understaffed today. We booked here after hearing amazing reviews. Appetizer came quickly but the main took about 45 minutes. The meal had great presentation but all the meat for my fajitas was cold, and could not seem to get attention of the waiter. Ended up not finishing the meal and leaving before the dessert because we had no chance to order. We were there on an all inclusive so not sure if that contributed to less attention. Waiter was good but seemed like they were understaffed.

A worst dining experience that made me realize that even a highly rated restaurant treats its customers differently(especially Asians). First of all, the lady at the front desk chose a table for two of us, probably the smallest and most marginal table in the restaurant, and when we sat down and found that almost half of the tables were empty and the other two customers were all sitting at a normal tables for 4 and near the center of the restaurant, then we knew we were being treated differently. As other reviews described the restaurant as having excellent service and attitude but did not happen to us. The waiter clearly did not want to interact with us beyond serving our food and taking away our finished plates, and even when we left. The most outrageous thing is that my wife said she only wanted water, not drinks, but the waiter brought us a $170 peso bottle of water and opened it without asking us if we want it, but afterwards I found out that all the other guests drank free water from the restaurant kettle, except for us. Finally, the restaurant manually wrote the tip amount on my bill without asking my opinion, and the us dollar price written to me was 11% more than the price of peso, I'm not sure if all restaurants in Mexico are adding the tip amount they decide without asking their guest, I felt very disrespected. To be fair, the grilled meat at the restaurant was good, but based on my experience, the five star rating is simply not up to par.

The food was absolutely amazing. Had the stew seafood and it was divine. Seasoned to perfection. The rice was amazing. The steak meal was also great. My hubs didn't need any steak sauce. This is real authentic Mexican food. Def worth the time and money if you are in Cancun and want an "experience". The mariachi band played new and old Spanish hits. They were skilled and amazing. Jorge and Miguel treated us amazing!!!! The service was superb!!! The drinks are TEXAS SIZE. LOL!!! The service and staff are amazing and made great recommendations!!!!! Will tell all my friends to come here. It's affiliated with the Krystal Cancun which really sucked. This restaurant is def thier best bet at getting a good review from clients.

Rene & Miguel have provided wonderful service tonight. They have been very polite and helpful throughout. The food was also great and specially modified to suit my vegetarian needs which I appreciate. The live music is very nice and soothing too. Thank you so much for good food and a good night.

Our food was BURNT! I mean to the point that it was inedible. My virgin mango daiquiri and the mariachi band was the highlight of our dinner. Our waiter tried to force us to give a 5 star review he even took our phones and started the review, we snatched our phones back and left. The atmosphere is so beautiful but our appetizers and dessert was a HUGE let down. I have a catering business and I would NEVER allow burnt food to leave my kitchen.

I was really disappointed in this restaurant for a few reasons. First, they don't have a drink menu, so when we ordered a margarita it came out in this absurdly large margarita cup and cost $285 pesos. Which might have been ok if it was a good margarita, but it was way too big and just cheap margarita mix. I expected more of an elevated cocktail at this kind of place. The food wasn't bad, but I thought for the inflated prices it should have been way better. My rice was cold and over cooked with my shrimp. Our service was very slow. I wouldn't recommend going here for the prices they charge. You can get an identical meal for 1/4 of the price almost anywhere else.

This was an awesome experience. Food was excellent. Best in Cancun so far. Gener provided perfect recommendations (House Special a little bit of everything including a HUGE lobster tail ) for our meal and thoughtful and efficient service. Thank you for a wonderful evening:) Bonus points for the terrific Mariachi group that made my Mexican American girlfriend cry with memories of her childhood

Beautiful and authentic Mexican place. Great customer service! When we didn't find any vegetarian options in the menu and the restaurant was willing to accommodate special requests for our dietary restrictions. It was very positive and memorable experience for us. Not only we enjoyed the food and drinks, the live band played on our request added to our celebration. Must visit if you are in Cancun.

Our waiter Juan and Miguel were incredibly kind. Service was nice and quick and we weren’t hungry for long! The food were good portions as well! We were able to get this place included in a resort that we stayed at called Krystal Cancun, but this place would have been pricey without it.

This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and a great way to experience a Mexican style fancy dinner. The mariachi band also comes around playing for each table and are also respectful if you have a sleeping baby! We had dinner here twice and the steak with cheese sauce was to die for! We were served by Miguel and Juan and they were very good at what they do. Highly recommend this restaurant for when you are in and around the area

I highly recommend Hacienda El Mortero! The ambiance was lovely. They have live music with a very talented Mariachi Band. Our servers (Gener and Ohlam) were friendly and very attentive. This place is a definite recommendation for anyone looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food!!

The restaurant looks quite stunning on the inside (it gives you this 50's-60's classv vibe). Although we are not the biggest fan of Mexican food, the food was quite good and the price was okk. The service was really good. The waiters are really friendly. They also had a mariachi band when we were there. They didn't play the whole time, but it was quite good to have it there, but also be able to chat nicely on the more quiet ambient when they were not playing. It was a good mix. In general, if you like Mexican food, it is a good restaurant.

Service started out shaky but improved. Overall was happy with the experience. They do serve you chips and salsa as well as flavored breads

We decided to go to this place for drinks and dinner based on google reviews. So disappointed! Someone got our order and someone else delivered the food. It took us over 10 minutes to get our server attention to ask for the bill. Then we had to sit another 15 minutes waiting for machine to pay. No one showed us. We dropped the cash on the table and left. So I can’t recommend the service at this place. Food was ok. Mexican salad very average an No special dressing or flavour. I let the picture of Mixed fajita talk for it self. Dish would have not missed anything without those 3 over cooked baby shrimps. Store bought nachos were very stale and old. We fined the food overpriced for what we got. I don’t recommend this place.

What an awesome experience!!! From the time we walked in we were treated in the most gracious and professional way! A small coat stand for my handbag, huge margaritas! We got the Mexican platter for an appetizer. We both decided on the filet for dinner which came with a baked potato and steamed veggies. Our plan came with dessert but we opted for tequila!! We were serenaded by the majestic mariachi band!! This will be a go to again place! Wonderful food and the staff that served us Gener and Damian....omg...we couldn't have picked two better guys to tend to us!!

The cuisine was excellent, this is a must visit restaurant if you’re in Cancun on the hotels trip. We had Ramaldo GEN ER as our waiter, And he provided the most excellent service we have ever had. So when you’re in Cancun please visit this restaurant you won’t be disappointed.

All-around excellent meal! Friendly and attentive staff. Giant margarita. Guacamole wasn’t amazing - tasted like avocados weren’t ripe. My daughter loved her chicken fajitas and my tikin xic block of fish (whatever that means) was delicious. Beware of the spicy red sauce with the chips - surprisingly hot.

We had such a great experience! Jorge y Miguel was our server and he was genuinely friendly. There was a fabulous mariachi band and a magician came over and did magic tricks that absolutely thrilled our 5 year old daughter. The food was good and the ambiance was great. Would be a great place for couples, parties or families:)

This was a great place to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was excellent and the service is first class. Special shout out to Gilberto, Baltazar-Rene for taking extra special attention to the fine details. A most memorable meal. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. Don't forget to have your favorite song to request the mariachi band to play. They are the best I've heard.

Everything was excellent, the food the service, the atmosphere is very relaxed, casual attire. Rumaldo and Juan were excellent funny and informative. The cactus salad with shrimp definitely a must have
