Nice place, take your time to go around don't let vendors to push u around. Specifically don't go in jewelery stores. They will trick you in buying something. They started with $400 price by the time we are going trough door, price came down to $80. You can get there by bus, just ask someone to tell you where is station to mercado 28. On return, bus station is front of Walmart and R2 bus

We enjoyed eating the local good, but the main reason why I do not give them such a high rating was because there were really too many of the same vendors selling the exact same item. The bathroom will charge you 5 pesos and provide you with toilet paper. As you eat in the mercado, there will be a lot of people hounding you for money and selling you things. Don’t be scammed and make sure you shop wisely.

This market has something for everyone. We shopped and ate here and were exhausted by the end of it! I’ve been to Mexico before so I knew what to expect with the vendors. They all want you to look at their stuff and you just have to be firm and also know you can just walk away if you don’t like a price. Remember, some prices are completely reasonable for what you’re buying. But, you are more than welcome to bargain! I bought a ring they originally told me was $70 and I walked out paying $20. Maybe they thought I was a crazy tourist and Way overpaid even at $20, but it was worth it to me. Be willing to walk away. 9 times out of 10 they’ll chase you and keep lowering the price ( especially for higher ticket items) Also, there are several money exchange counters located here, as well as restaurants.

This was an interesting place. This is an area where you go to shop. They have food, clothing, souvenirs, restaurants and many other things you might need. The only thing I didn't like about this place was that people will BEG you to buy their stuff and won't go away. If you're American and you're not used to that style of doing business, this can be very very very very annoying and very very very very different from what you're used to. Such people might run you away from Mexico altogether. The best thing to do when encountering these people is to stay silent and keep walking. And if they truly keep pressing you, then tell them "no" and be firm and stand your ground no matter what!! In America, we'd consider this style of business borderline robbery. But, it's the way a lot of business is done in Mexico unfortunately. And in Mexico, this is something that you'd probably run into a lot!! By the way, some might try to guilt you and say "oh, I can't feed my family if you don't buy this!" But unfortunately, unless you're completely rich, you can't save or help everybody! You can't save the world!! And if you're broke in Mexico, who is goimg to save YOU??? Probably nobody if the situation were reversed!! So, don't let them guilt you into buying stuff. Unfortunate, you might even have to literally be cold-hearted when dealing with some of these people. Because, some figure that foreigners are one of the easiest targets for this and guilt is one of the best and oldest tricks in the book in regards to business!! So, consider keeping the latter option on the table as well!

It is a nice souvenir market. If you need souvenirs then stop here. However if you look for true “artesanias”, you can struggle to find what you need. I didn’t expect the market was so big and most of goods were the same stuff so I had to run some circles around to find things I needed and for acceptable price

Lively Mercado with lots of souvenirs. You can do friendly bargaining with them. We did buy a few items to take back to Texas. From the hotel zone, taxis are quite expensive- about $40/- US. Dollars. Red bus costs very little. Anyway enjoyed the shopping.

cool spot plenty of shope and not as many tourists. Prices are DEFINITELY better than the markets across from the hotel areas, by at least HALF!

Some cool, authentic local architecture and artwork, but be prepared for hecklers in Mercado 28. All conversations lead to selling you something handmade (or infinite ‘Cancun’ t-shirts, lol), getting money from you or offering just about anything else to make a buck off you. Know the exchange rate, carry small bills and always negotiate because the price is never final here.

there are a lot of little shops and a square in the middle with restaurants, there are restrooms in the restaurant and in the square there is 02, you have to pay $10 pesos 😒 it's just a little annoying the sellers shouting and calling you insisting that you come in and buy!! they are a little too much. the young man tells me that he had offers of cachaça, vodka, rum, he offered I could try it 😄, I politely replied no thanks 😊 he insisted... I replied I don't drink alcohol!! he replied: it's never too late to start!!😳🤨🧐

Very good flea market. Lot of good local souvenirs that we can get for good prices. We need to bargain and shop around before buying. Most of the stores carry the same merchandise...so keep looking for good bargains before you buy. The store keepers are kind and helpful. Did not find them pushy or putting pressure on us...as mentioned in other posts.

Decent market, but be ready for constant harrasssment. Was called a few nasty words when I wouldn't buy. Almost everything is priced 3 times higher than they will accept. Food was good in the center, but had constant stream of people trying to sell us trinkets while we ate, even 4 yr old kids! Good place to find leather goods, hats and souvenirs.

If you’re visiting Cancun for the first time this is a must do activity. Visiting the market is not only for shopping it’s an experience in it self, there’s lots of restaurants/ little Mexican diners with good food in the middle of the market. The market is decently sized, you will find all the souvenirs you want over here but make sure to bargain.

You can find great things there but always negotiated. Their prices are ridiculously higher then anywhere else and reduce more then half their prices. Mexicans need to understand that is very annoying to be harass and need to stop that. We don't want to be harass everywhere we go and we don't want to buy your things if we get insulted because we ignored you.

I was looking for a local touch, and this place was perfect! We bought a lot of souvenirs, and costs way less than any other souvenirs store around cancun.12 for 100 pesos was a steal deal. Loved the vibrant collection. But bargaining isnt my forte, I am sure could be better deal. Easy parking, and nice place to walk around. The store owners were nice and easy going.

Huge market with a vast range of products on offer. Set out in a square with places to eat in the middle. You can buy just about anything touristy here from leather goods to high-end jewellery. However, the quality can vary greatly, let the buyer beware, and prepare for some serious haggling. When it's quiet, you can pick things up for about half the first price quoted.

There were a few specialty stores but pretty much every store has the same items. I bought a customized mini notebook with cover for $12 usd which is pretty pricey if you asked me. Sidenote: The sales people are very pushy. I understand it’s a tourist town but I feel many people don’t buy because the lack of customer service knowledge.

This is the the best spot for purchasing souvenirs in Cancun. You'll come across numerous cheap items of questionable quality, primarily sourced from Chinese manufacturers. However, if you invest enough time exploring, you'll stumble upon some truly distinctive handmade pieces. It's worth noting that many shops carry identical merchandise. Nevertheless, if you possess the skill of negotiation, you can effortlessly slash prices by a whopping 30%. Be prepared to encounter a multitude of sellers vying for your attention. Within a mere 10 minutes, their persistent attempts to entice you can become quite exasperating.

Lots of souvenir shops, restaurants and just small shops/stalls. Gives a good break to be in a local Mexican markets. The prices for the same product varies a lot. We looked at a tequila bottle that was marked 700/800 pesos different from shop to shop. Bargain away and you will get a good deal!!

The vendors are definitely "aggressive", but they never touch you nor do they pursue after you say no gracias. I purchased a talavera tray for 35$ US. He had offered $40 (I only had $35 in my pocket and when he saw that amount, he agreed to that price). I saw a similar tray at duty free for $120 US and other vendors offered to sell for 50 to 60, so it does pay to walk around. This market has a ton of stores and is easy to get lost down some aisle, which in one way is part of its magic - however, if you do not like being "invited" to look in their shop, I doubt you will enjoy your time

They are really nice people. Happy Shopping !! Recomended here instead of high price malls in Hotel Zone

Flea market, not for everyone though. You will get feel of real Mexico. Food court with plenty of choices for everyone. Free parking and has 4 lots marked 1-4. Remember where you parked

This a gem in downtown Cancun. The prices were far more less expensive than the main hotel strip or tourist stops. It's a must for all your souvenir needs.
