This ruin has beautiful sea view point. It is free site. You can access easily from beach side. Let's try it when you stay near or walk along beach side.

The ruins worth 5 stars but they loose stars because of the Westin hotel. If you past at the front of the Westin, they run at you to be escorted until the ruins. They waiting you and escorted you through the exit. They are going to offer you a one-day pass at their hotel when they want to sell you a membership under pressure and make you waste 1h30 of your time attending an information session. If you leave your information, they will harass you. That's a scam !! Don't waist your time and take the beach to go through the ruins.

I was really surprised that the only way to get to the ruins is through the Westin security. The guy had to come with us and wait until we're done to escort us back. So strange. I'm just glad the security don't mind doing this. Otherwise it's a nice little temple with beautiful ocean views.

My wife and I went to this historical place that is located behind a Hotel. What made the experience very bad is that this is a historical site for humanity, for tourist. But since it is in the property of the hotel we had to get a permission from security and go and see it. Okay we said fine. We got permission from the front security, waited for 10-15 min and a security guy came to get us and take us to the ruins. He took us to the back of the hotel and up the mount to the location of the historical site. He allowed us to take pictures and see the ruins. On the way back, just as a courtesy, I give him few coins, it was like 10-15 peso. Once we got outside of the hotel he told me he does not want these coins and for this he charges $100 peso. I told him that no one told us that there is a fee to enter why you are asking for money now? he said we took him away from his work and that is going to cost him so we need to pay him. I told him I do not have more money but a $50 peso bill. I took the coins and give him a $50 peso bill. This was unbelievable. Like I said, this is a historical site not only for Mexicans but for all tourist. the fact that the Mexican government allows hotel to build around it is mind boggling and shows the level of corruption. Not only that they do not have a proper way of allowing tourist to go and see it. The security guy told us that the ruin is only available for people inside the hotel not outside. It is sad. I wont go back and do not waste your time for this, there are better ruins in Mexico then this.

It was a journey to get to this place but a fun journey. Not a lot to see in the small area. It does have a great view of the beach and makes for a nice adventure. Make sure you are wearing good walking shoes 😎👟. Best part is that it's FREE to visit

We walked from our resort down the beach and it was a little confusing finding how to enter it but we walked through the pool area of the Westin hotel and found a sign. Beautiful views and cool site

Nice little ruin to see if you're in the area, great views of the beach as well. Enter via The Westin, ignore the private property signs, head up the stairs, follow the path through the walkway towards reception. Then you'll see the sign to the right through the hole in the building.

Don't try to get here through the Westin! It is crazy to me how this could wind up where it is. Kinda sad. Cool lil ruin so glad I found you!

Difficult to locate entrance and to leave it, you have to walk through hotel private property and know where it is . The ruins are very high up, Google Maps doesn't show this fact .

Free access to this smallish Mayan ruin, under federal protection, but directly next to the Westin Lagunamar hotel. A bilingual sign explains a little and the view of the water is superb.

It's public but you have to gain access through the Lagunamar hotel. No one else in there. Not wheelchair accessible but very cool!

Just a quick ferry ride over to the island and there’s quite literally something for everyone here

A wonderful historical site, and a must-see while staying at the Westin Lagunamar Resort. It seems one can simply walk up to the site at any time along the paved walkway from the hotel property. However, the Resort also provides guided tour events once/ week, according to their guest activity schedule, for which you just need to show up on time (advanced reservations not required). Go to the Resort lobby to see (and read) a very thorough interpretive wall display with lots of fascinating historical details.
