Came here recently with friends and had an AMAZING stay here! We got a 2 Bedroom Villa (they have a timeshare)—it was so spacious, clean and had all the amenities including your own kitchen area (fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher, etc) and a washing machine! There’s a door to separate both living areas so you can have privacy. EACH bedroom has plenty of space and a nice balcony ocean view!! The view was beautiful. The resort is pretty huge! The pool is massive as well and overlooks the beach (it’s an infinity pool) and has a swim up pool bar too. There is a snack shop downstairs where you get buy coffee, drinks, snacks, etc.—you can charge it to the room if you don’t have your credit card. Service wise, everyone was great—very friendly and helpful, and concierge spoke fluent English. Also, they have security at the gate where they check each car that comes through, so it’s safe—however, they don’t check those who are walking by foot. Location is good too! Across the street is a mall complex with many food places, shopping stores, and a casino! Further down the street are more restaurants and cigar lounge if you prefer other options. One thing I wished this resort was—is an all-inclusive resort, but it’s not—so be prepared and plan ahead for food and drinks!

We were shocked at the level of awesome hospitality from every single department. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and taken care of. Our room was phenomenal with breathtaking views. Service from the bellmen, restaurants, fabulous entertainment/shows, bartenders and pool staff were some of the best we have had. We felt safe, comfortable and appreciative of the Covid protocols. We will 100% return to this paradise! Thank you for helping to make our vacation so amazing.

The Westin Lagunamar is a fantastic beachfront resort with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Local buses appear to run every few minutes and can take you to nearby points of interest. If you’ve got a 5-7 day stay there’s no need to rent a car, unless perhaps you were doing an excursion, but I’m sure that the hotel could arrange transport. The staff is super nice and refers to everyone in your party as “family.” I’m sure employees are well trained, but their kindness comes across as genuine. Well done, Westin! This resort isn’t all-inclusive, but the prices for food and beverages are reasonable.

Our condo had the most breath-taking view of the ocean as well as gorgeous pool that butts up to the ocean. The condo was beautifully decorated, clean, updated appliances with kitchen cabinets filled with all the necessary cookware. Bathroom was equipped with all the necessary hygiene essentials. The location is so conveniently located close to mall shopping and restaurants. Special activities were available such as water aerobics, salsa dance classes, and my favorite... Mayan dishes in buffet style while watching a presentation of dancers portraying the Mayan history & culture. The swim-up bar & restaurant was my husband's favorite.

We were offered a $150 resort credit for listening to the time share presentation. We received the credit after the presentation. When we checked out they would not check our bill because of their night audit. After we left the country we found out they added some hidden bills to our account. We caught one and got it reversed. We also were denied the resort credit. Be careful. These people are sneak and try to trick you by offering you resort credit and then not applying it to your account.

To say that we had a wonderful time at this location would be an understatement. Upon arrival it was our appointed concierge was Karla, who took wonderful care of us and salt are every needs being only a phone call or email away. The place was extremely clean everybody was extremely friendly. The view from where we was was a spectacular and turns out that a mile in each direction the resort has the largest cleanest part of the beach on the ocean. Lenin, was our primary bellhop and was very informative and gave us suggestions of where to go off the beaten path as well as how to hit the taxi system or the bus system. All the bartenders were extremely helpful and funny Javier was the one that we had the most interaction with and he was fantastic as well. . The food at the sports bar was meh the food at the other location restaurant was much better that would be the only complaints that we had at all at the same time it is a apartment setup so bring your own food or do your shopping and you'll be great. That said looking forward to going back next year extremely highly recommend it.

Our family visited The Westin Lagunamar Resort in July. We reserved a car service that was recommended by the hotel and they were amazing! We love our entire experience at the resort. The food was great, the attentiveness of the staff was perfect! We spent everyday at the pool and a few days at the beach. The pool bartenders knew our names and room numbers - not sure if that was a good thing 😉 We walked across the street for shopping, dolphin swimming and dinner. The kids enjoyed the Kids Club so that we could relax one of the days. We will definitely be back soon!

We just got back from a vacation to this resort and might I say it exceeded our expectations. The service, 5/5 was the best service we have received anywhere and we travel often. They are just dying to help you, every single employee, and make your stay the best stay possible. The spa was lovely, my husband had an amazing massage experience… however, the pedicuring was very slow (2 hours for a pedicure) and seemed uncertain of what she was doing. It turned out fine, but I wasn’t expecting that. The food, at all locations, was super yummy. The resort is super close to fantastic shopping and tons of other yummy restaurants, gelato and even a Starbucks. Our only complaint, the ac in our room didn’t “refrigerate” the air or fully cool it down. Therefore everything in our room was constantly damp… our passports even curled up. I think it’s a solo situation, they are doing some renovations so maybe we just got an unlucky one, but other than that… the room was spacious, the view was gorgeous and we loved our stay. The beach is absolutely one of the loveliest and the sand is just so soft. The pools are massive, the hot tubs are plenty and honestly, I would highly recommend Westin Lagunamar! We plan to visit again very soon.

Great location! Great beach with well groomed sand. Has great good options for lunch and breakfast. Their restaurants close early by 10pm, after which you won’t get anything to eat. Room are spacious and has everything you need. Staff is kind and helpful. We lived the pools and pool water temperature. Overall worth the cost we paid during peak season!

Just finished a two week stay at the Westin Lagunamar and I must say this is truly one of our favorite places in the whole world! We just love everything about the resort - the rooms, the beach, the pool, the staff, the location, the food it’s all wonderful. It has the perfect mix of all of these factors. Can you find a resort that is better in anyone one of those factors, sure! But the Westin Lagunamar is consistent across all of them which makes a huge difference. For example the food - are their resorts with better food? Of course! But given that the resort is directly across the street from La Isla Mall with all of its fantastic restaurants makes up for it plus you have a full kitchen to make any meals you want. The other thing is that isn’t a “party place” so often people assume Cancun Hotel Zone is all party people and not relaxing and that is simply not true. The Westin Lagunamar is perfect for relaxing and lounging my the pool or beach with a cold drink in hand. But if you want to party your just minutes from the party spots! The other thing I can say is the that they really work to keep the place in tip top shape! They are always doing proactive maintenance and painting and cleaning to keep things looking nice and it shows. If I had to make a critique it would be that their alcoholic drinks aren’t the strongest unless you stay close to the pool bar and really work the bartender with tips. That’s probably my only complaint!

So far not great couldn't get into room until almost 6p.m. Went into one of the restaurants didn't seem adequately staffed no one was on the floor to hand out menus or take drink orders. Major walking to be done so if you have issues not the place for you, unless you want to rent scooters. Rooms are nice even though we had water pooling by the fridge. No pens or paper. Stayed in Orlando in a sprawling resort & you could have a cart take you wherever you wanted to go. Maybe I'll feel better about the place after a few days. BTW great view I was supposedly getting is vegetation & some ruins. This is what I pay some pretty hefty fees for every year. I hope it improves. I must add the manager was very helpful in making our move to another unit for our second week. The pools are awesome & staff for the most part are very helpful. For us it was just not ideal with some mobility issues which made it more difficult to explore the dining options across the street. We did take a taxi a few times at $10 US each way.

Westin staff was amazing. Right across from a shopping plaza and everything you need is within a 10 minute walk. The Spa was amazing and ask for Daniella. 80 minute massage and she fixed my lower back pain so I could enjoy my trip with the family. Food at poolside was great and happy hour is crazy hour at the swim up bar. The resort was so good my and my wife are now vacation owners. Excellent staff with no pressure during the presentation. Thank you Westin for some great memories and more to.come

Lagunamar is an excellent property with 2 pools that provide enough room for every guest and there is plenty of seating. The beach is very big and cleaned every day. Plenty of chairs on the beach as well. The rooms provide a great view of the ocean/pool area. Rooms have a kitchen, washer/dryer and living area (studio rooms have less space). The buildings are kept clean inside and out. There are outdoor barbecues for guests to use. The spa is excellent, workout area is very good and there are saunas, steam rooms and locker rooms adjacent to the workout room. The store on the property is well stocked with essentials. The sports bar food is very good. The property is conveniently located next to a large mall with many food and shopping opportunities (La Isla). We have been coming to this property since it opened many years ago and it never grows old. The highlight of this property for us is the staff that make this paradise function. Over the years we have made long lasting friendships with the people who work here and they always greet us by name when we return.

Overall fantastic hotel for a great price with rooms that have full kitchenettes and laundry machines. Location is wonderful, right across from the La Isla shopping center. It’s easy to take the bus up and down the hotel strip. My one word of caution is the lack of availability of seating by the pool. There are many pool chairs present, but unfortunately it’s very difficult to find one you are allowed to sit it. There is a policy that one person is able to reserve up to four seats for other members of their family *indefinitely*, regardless of whether that person is ever present. This is abused by many people, who wake up early to hoard seats for hours for people who aren’t at the pool area. So if you want to sit down by the pool, it’s essentially not possible unless you wake up very early while on vacation. Very few gluten free options available, though the kitchenette is stocked with pots and pans and it was great to cook breakfast every morning.

Nice resort that met all of our needs. Rented the villa because I wanted the kitchen and washer and dryer, which was very convenient. Infiniti pool looking over the ocean was amazing. If you're not interested in time share then just let them know and they will leave it at that. We did not eat at any of the two restaurants because we preferred to explore the ones across the street. The grocery store downstairs allowed us to buy things and we cooked a lot as well. Did order food by the pool and it was excellent. If ever in Cancun again, I would choose this resort. Some little cons: the room (especially the toilet room) had a displeasing smell. Consider bringing an air freshener. Also, the AC temperature control does not go below 68. The room had fans though so it was never hot. The AC fan does not have an option to be "on" all the time so if you like white noise like me, that's a little inconvenient.

This is an awesome hotel with mostly suites and kitchens. The main pool is breathtaking and the beach and water fantastic. A great place to stay in Cancun. There is also a secondary pool which is quite large of you want a little quieter space. Their kids pool is also fantastic and there is a water slide in main pool. Both pools have swim up bars.

We enjoyed this hotel from start to finish. Very high class and attention to details was phenomenal. We arrived and we were greeted every step of the way. From someone upfront, to the lobby, to check in and then to concierge. They day we checked out we were catching a late flight so we left our luggage and bags with barbell storage. What we loved the most was that the rooms were equipped with full kitchen and also a hot tub. The day we checked out, we were still able to go into the gym and locker rooms to shower and freshen up prior to going to the airport.

The resort is very nice. Beautiful grounds and pools. Lots of lounges for sunbathing, and lots of umbrellas, also. Swim up bars were nice. Food was good at the restaurants. Spa treatments, such as massages, were enjoyable. The rooms are being renovated, and we were in a building that was not yet done. Some of the locks didn't work, but overall the villas were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The conscierge staff was very nice and courteous, but seemed to give us conflicting information at times in answer to our questions. Perhaps a little more info provided to them in training would be good. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience at this resort. Glad we stayed there.

Well kept beautiful beach front resort, full of amenities, on-site dining, and activities. If you want a slow pace relaxing vacation, you really won't have to leave the resort to achieve that. There are Spa services and multiple pool options. Staff is friendly and helpful with information for any local need or restaurant recommendations. 5-star treatment and facilities!

3rd year back as a guest there. Room is nice, however there was 3 roaches in 2 separate rooms on the 1st and 3rd floor that our party stayed in. First time seeing roaches there. Also, the aging room amenities needs to be updated. Beds were not comfortable, knifes and scissors in kitchen were super dull. Menu hasn't changed at all. Aside from those it was a great experience.

Every room comes with a terrace and ocean view. Rooms were clean despite being seaside, with a spacious layout. Location is nice in the hotel zone, but if you don’t have a car there’s limited walkable options.

Westin Lagunamar is a great hotel with a nice beachfront location. The rooms are comfortable but food and drinks are expensive, so make sure you are prepared for high prices or eat/drink in places nearby with excellent food. My main disappointment was customer service after departure. I made the mistake, and admit it, to leave my Apple Watch charger in the room when I checked out. As soon as I arrived home (USA) I reached out to our assigned concierge and then to customer service to report and ask for help retrieving it. Despite going through the Digital Concierge and the Guest Experience Manager nothing was done because it was considered a "lost item". I clarified it was not lost; it was left in the room, and that I would appreciate it if the hotel would take responsibility. After that I never heard back, which significantly took away from the mostly nice experience while there.

Make sure to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This resort is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't regret it. Very nice!! Most of the food options were pretty good but not every dish was amazing. Awesome pools and decent beach. To waves were too crazy to swim in the ocean, and too much seaweed. Directly across is the shopping center and this resort is perfect location for it.

We visited this hotel for a well needed vacation. The Westin Lagunamar resort & property was beautiful and the ocean views awesome and lovely white beach sands refreshing. The Westin front desk did not welcome any of us, we are Marriott members and have been for years. My first impression was not a good one, is this Marriott! The concierge team was a bit more warm & friendly. I concluded that the main focus of the resort during the entire visit was about how many pesos the could empty from our pockets, food & drinks overpriced and bad quality. I tried to order food at the beach/pool bar and I was told to go find your waiter! wow, we left the resort and went off-site for food & drinks. Despite the beautiful location, I regret to say that I DO NOT RECOMMEND the Westin Lagunamar to anyone. You wont experience typical Marriott customer service at this location. If you are seeking a pleasant vacation experience, this is not the resort-hotel. The Westin Lagunamar Management nor Staff enforce Mexico's Covid-19 protocols. Although the staff wears masks, many guests did not wear them and Management nor Staff said anything. This resort is money hungry and has poor food & drinks.

Absolutely excellent !!!!! Me and my husband renewed our vows/had our wedding on the beach and it was so memorable. I highly recommend the beach dinner which my husband surprised me with for my birthday it was beautiful. I want to commend Pedro for his excellent service and the photographer! Rosario our concierge was so helpful and assisted with all we needed from start to finish. I have traveled all over the Caribbean and this hotel by far has some of the best customer service! Truly a top notch experience. Everyone from the housekeeping , maintenance , servers and massage manager were truly a delight and I can’t wait to return. I want to recommend Vicky for her beach massage and if you can visit Taboo nearby for a true dining experience . Thank you Westin and Cancun this is home away from home !

This resort is fantastic and family friendly. There are three main pools suitable for kids and adults. The staff are kind and professional in all areas. La Isla shopping center is located right across the street, providing restaurants and shopping if you wanted to go off-resort ,but not travel far. Bus stop is right outside the gates for easy access. If you get bad weather, there is a Kids Zone to stay indoors and play games or do arts and crafts. Real solid place that we have been to twice now and plan to visit again.

Fantastic resort. Staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Resort is also very well staffed so wait times for assistance is short. Rooms are very well kept and the location is great if you want to be away from the loud ruckus of the club scene. Shuttle bus stop is right out front, shopping is walking distance, great beach and pool area.

Very relaxing atmosphere. Great pools, and clean beach with hardly any sea weed. You get to see a stunning sunrise every morning on the beach. The Isla shopping mall is right across for outside food and drinks. Local buses r1 and r2 run into cancun (12 pesos per trip which is peanuts).

While the rooms and dining meet standards, it's unacceptable that I was physically and aggressively attacked by another guest over a simple misunderstanding with hotel-issued bags - especially in front of my family seeking a relaxing luxury getaway. Despite complaints, I received no follow up until I contacted corporate myself. The poor service and handling of this hostile incident - with no real resolution - ruined our stay and family time. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I will not be returning or recommending this hotel if guests' safety and concerns are not appropriately addressed

Avoid! Timeshares, Theft & Poor Food I never write reviews but I’m so disappointed with my experiences at the Westin Lagunamar that I had to share. After booking a "concierge" member will email you. Don't be fooled, nothing is complimentary, including the shuttle service to and from the hotel. When you check into the hotel, the "concierge" staff will try to sell you on Timeshares at the resort. This is no hotel! The Westin Lagunamar is a timeshare which is not stated anywhere in the description. They make guests feel inferior by labeling them as "renters." Due to it being a timeshare, this place is mostly occupied by elderly people. Restaurants and entertainment close end early. There are few food options available and what is available is poor quality, and very expensive. The staff are rude and avoid work by ignoring simple requests for water and condiments. The hotel is aged in appearance but the rooms are okay. The room doors let in a lot of noise. You can clearly hear outside voices and cars. The craftmanship is poor, our shower door was unable to full close. My fault completely, but make sure to use the room provided safe because we had some jewelry stolen after the room was cleaned. I was traveling with friends and family who were very disappointed in the hotel as well. So much so that everyone switched hotels after the first day. I attempted to switch as well but the manager was not very attentive to my needs. Nor was he sympathetic. Since I was the last of 7 families to cancel my reservation I believe they didn't want to lose any more money. So I spent the weekend alone. Lastly, the gym is a poor excuse for a workout area. No views, small, old equipment. Overall a horrible experience. I guess it goes without saying that I will never be staying at this hotel again. Heed my warnings and travel safely!

Excellent service!!! We were invited by our dearest friends to come here, and was by far the best service ever experienced. Premises were super clean. Shopping mall and restaurants are walking distance, so you don't need much of a car other than for ruin excursions. Also, Tacos Villlanos only a ten minute walk, have to try it. Loved this resort, love it! Star⁶.

Love our vacation here! Across from La Isla shopping centre with great shopping. Restaurants close by, and if you want groceries to cook in your condo there are grocery stores that are nearby as well, including one with8n walking distance. Nice condos and staff look after you; answer questions; recommend different areas. Great sunrise views from our balcony! A keeper for us to relax and take your cares away!!

We waisted 1-1/2 days with rooms. When we first arrived we were given a handicap room and we’re not told. We tried to make it work but the bed was broken, the toilet seat was broken also and the chair in the shower was so big you could hardly get in. We asked to change and after going around for a couple of hours we were told to check out at 10AM and they would have a room by 4. This was unacceptable! Finally we’re told a room is available and we can move- it was now about noon - we waited for a call, never came. Finally about 6PM we dot into the unit. The manager told us he would not charge us for the day waisted day. When we checked out, they refused to adjust the room charge. I called Marriott and that went nowhere as well. No one took the initiative to solve the problem including the Marriott Platinum desk. We will not return and I have lost a lot of respect for Marriott.

Food was Very expensive in the resort. Customer Service lacked in all areas. Not much Hotel amenities and long distances from rooms to market place or pools or restaurants. Pools bar requires credit card…who carries credit card to the pools?! Overall very disappointed with our stay there

Fantastic location - Directly across the road from luxury stores and a selection of many higher end restaurants. Close to a grocery store and a short bus ride ($12 pesos/person) to the town of Cancun. Rooms are clean and furnished with modern decor. Pool and beach areas are also well-maintained. Staff are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to find when needed.

We had a great time with family. We were Ocean front, and the pool was beautiful and not crowded. We are owners of the property and ran into some issues, and commmuction was an issue. They only take Visa, MC, or Amex Exp. Nothing in there paper work stated that. We were told our room would be cleaned 1 day in our stay, and we were charged 120 Pecos to just provide towels. No room clean, no trash taken out, and it was our first time to this location. Our concierge Emma was awesome. The bar tender poolside Robert was great!! The front desk check-in associate Matilda was nice as well. Armando is the manager, and we spoke to him about the staff, and he took notes, but nothing was ever done. Location and hotel were amazing. Some staff members are not so great.

Wonderful, elegant resort, attentive staff, delicious drinks and food at the 3 restaurants. If you are looking for a high energy, party atmosphere, this is not for you. The property is awesome, lives up to 4-5 star hotel. The pools are huge, and you can find all kinds of facilities and services here. Love this resort. Staff is always trying to make sure you are enjoying your vacation. The bellboys have great suggestions depending on your interests. Most beautiful hotel with incredible beach. I had read before we came that it was the best beach in the area. Very true. Soft white sand!!! One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Lovely professional staff. Best spa!! Units have kitchens, so we shopped at the nearby Costco. Only negative was the pressure to have a talk about a timeshare.
