After my wallet was stolen and I missed my connecting flight I was stuck in Cancun without any cash. My girlfriend transferred cash to a bank so I could pick it up there. Unfortunately it was Friday night when I arrived and all the banks where already closing or already did their maximum number of cash take outs for the day. It was extra hard because I already took a taxi and was planning to pay them with the money I was going to receive. After trying 3 different banks without luck I called the hostel if they could maybe help. They told me to come over and would see how to handle the situation. When I arrived they paid the taxi for me and gave me a bed. The day after it worked out with the bank so I paid them back. The staff is super friendly and did really good with my dog how's travelling with me. There is a good kitchen, the cleaning lady is doing a great job all day around and the location is great! Unlike what you read in a lot of comments the beds are good and there is no bedbugs! Recommend it to everyone how doesn't want to stay in the busy hotel zone or travelling with her/his dog.

The rooms and the bathrooms are very clean! We took a private room for 2 and we had 2 towels and 2 soaps. Having AC makes such a difference!! The staff is super friendly (thank you Lucia and Geraldo who gave us great recommendations to eat). We take off a star because of the pressure and the comfort of the shower and also, because sometimes the electricity cuts off (about an hour) but nothing dramatic. The breakfast is small but enough to start the day! We recommend this place for backpackers!

Not a hotel bunker like any other. No swanky luxury yacht owned by a snooty oligarch. But a place full of warmth. Great team, coolest boss ever and a place where time doesn't matter. Casa Wayak: The house of dreams in a crazy world in 2022

Horrible dirty place. Also the staff help people enter to kidnap and rob the guest. I was a victim. They even went as far as claiming I never checked in after I was threatened by the men to not return. Good thing i took pictures as proof. Stay far away from this place

Located on a shady street; bed sheets are dirty, i have ants on my bed, one towel for 2 persons, no shower gel, dirty floors, water at the shower has no pressure; there was nobody at the reception, not answering the phone, room was not ready event at 3pm. Rules over rules. Very arrogant receptionist. You need to pay a fee for the key, that will be returned after check out. I don t recomand. Not a single good thing to say about.

Upon our arrival the hostel was being painted and it felt like we were interrupting in someone’s home. Room was okay, had ac. Maybe the beds could have an update. As a non Spanish speaker we felt a little like outsiders. Location is a little far out and breakfast is mediocre (toast and watermelon), filter coffee was good.

Love this sweet little place - location is great, staff is great... Rooftop terrace is lovely. Owner is awesome - born and raised here, knows everything about Cancun and enjoys getting to know the people who stay here. She is also well-traveled and bilingual. My room was small but cozy, great air conditioner that was quiet and functional. A little examination of the remote showed me how to direct the air flow so it wasn't coming directly onto the bed. Wifi is steady which is good because I'm working while I'm here. I came here for dental work and didn't expect the work to be as intense as it was, so i wanted to stay in a hostel for the social aspects. Unfortunately, I wound up having some complications and so this wasn't the best place for quiet and convalescence lol... I realize it's Mexico and also downtown Cancun and also a hostel so some noise is to be expected, BUT... My room was central to every bit of noise this place has to offer - late night conversations in the front garden, literally anyone coming up or down the stairs, 7am conversations or people playing music (we are having 9am reggaeton at the moment) in the kitchen downstairs, every single vehicle with amplified advertising cruising through the streets, etc... Regardless - I love this place, have enjoyed my stay. I am leaving Cancun soon and won't be returning until the night before I fly out, but hopefully one of the rooms on the rooftop terrace will be available for a night's stay because I'd love to stay in one and the noise won't be so much of an issue up there.

The place is basic but nice. It can be a bit difficult to find as there is no board or sign outside - so calling the person is the best way to get in. They can be a bit more friendly and welcoming About 15 min walk to the ADO bus station

The staff is very nice, and it’s really affordable, but you get what you pay for. The first room they gave us had dirty linens. They were nice enough to give us a different one, but the door didn’t lock. The shower was awful in both rooms, no pressure, going from lava hot to freezing cold continuously. The facilities were old, and breakfast was not good. It was a really bad start to our Mexican trip, but luckily it was the only bad spot we stayed in.

I spent 2.5 weeks here and I enjoyed it. The included breakfast consists of toast, fruit and coffee or tea. The rooms are pretty clean and so are the shared bathrooms. Unfortunately only one of the 3 has a window but they’re still good. The staff was super nice and helpful. Since it’s located downtown there are many shops and restaurants in short distance and the bus stop to the hotel zone/beaches is also only a 15min walk away. The ADO center is not too far either but I wouldn’t recommend walking there if you have a lot of luggage or suitcase with you.

My wife & I spent 3 nights here with our group, and it’s not a bad place to stay, but we have a few things to say about it. They “provide AC” but they turn it off in the morning and don’t turn it back on until 8pm, so it’s super hot & humid all day if you ever want to be home. Breakfast is good - fruit & toast. Small, but sufficient. The exchange rate is completely wrong - our bank would’ve saved us $40 USD if we paid in pesos instead of USD. The staff is okay, friendly for sure but not overly accommodating. They had no hand soap in their bathrooms, don’t provide towels, and tp is constantly empty and you have to ask them or they don’t replace it. The beds are terrible - uncomfortable and tiny. There are only 2 single bathrooms in the entire place so you’ll have to time it right to get a shower. They don’t clean up after you - it’s all do your own dishes, clean up your own messes; so bathrooms are not very clean (pee on toilet, toothpaste in sink, etc.). Overall a good price for 3 nights (~$100 usd a person), but not a very pleasant place. We would stay here again, but would recommend looking into other hostels before choosing to stay here.

It's close to the ADO terminal and El Centro, the staff/volunteers were pleasant but not overly hospitable. No hot water in our shower and leaking sink drain made for a wet floor. Poor maintenance all around. Old saggy and stained mattress. The AC worked very well and so did the TV. Fruit, toast and good coffee for an included breakfast. The neighborhood is quiet but dirty with lots of graffiti. Not a great value for the money.

This was a very nice place to stay, since the very first day we stay there everyone was so friendly and very helpful. We stayed there for 4 day and had a very pleasant stay. You’ll feel like you are at home, you can use the kitchen to cook anything you need, there’s a nice terrace where you can go chill or you can just simply have a nice conversation with any of the people that works or stay there. 10 stars to this place

I've seen better hostels (Costing similarly). Our room had an attached bathroom which did not have any ventilation. Some times hot water was only luke warm. Bathroom door lock was not working. It was difficult to close bathroom door. The AC was making a lot of noise at night. You can hear your TV till the road. You can use the common kitchen. Some utensils, toaster looked looked very old and dirty. Cutlery and microwave was fine though. TV and wifi was fine. They have a fridge too. There is a supermarket and other stores at walking distance. Currency exchange nearby. Quite a bit of a walk to bus stations.

Stay away from this place! The so-called "family room" is basically a concrete prison cell. Disgusting and dense smell which from which all your clothes will soak the odour in. Impossible to breath without A/C on which is very loud and impossible to adjust reasonably. They also attract you on "breakfast included" - the most ridiculous thing I have experienced. Literally 4 slices of banana, 2 slices of apple and a half of a little bun. Were happy to run away after one night.

I'm giving them five stars because I ran out of cash to tip them and forgot to pay them for doing my laundry. Andy (doesn't work there but lives there and helps out) was the only one who spoke English and would pack sandwiches for us when he knew we had an early day and would miss breakfast. We stayed in the 6-person dorm and they did not have individual lockers. Location was great but getting back to this area from the Hotel Zone was a bit tricky - make sure you learn how to take the buses (no taxis or Ubers will pick you up from the Hotel Zone). Some of the sheets and pillows smelled like body odor so I'm not sure how good they are about changing the sheets out after each guest. We stayed there for four nights and one of the nights, they ran out of hot water for the showers. We also noticed there were a lot of bugs. We weren't sure what they were though. Other than that, the breakfast was very nice. They had a ton of shampoo and stuff leftover from other guests. The showers and restrooms were clean. We were lucky that we went when there were very few people staying here because there was only two restrooms/showers shared by three other rooms (I'm assuming they're all dorms too) downstairs.

Horrible hostel. They took me to my dorm room and the floor is so dirty, hair and dirt everywhere. Tiny uncomfortable beds. No air con in daytime. Bathroom dirty and no hand soap. Would never stay here again and totally regretting this booking in middle of my 2 night stay :(

😠 Ater you get there you wonder how its possible for it to have such a high rating, very dirty and old facilities, not how they make it look online.
