We
chose
this
location
as
we
did
not
want
to
be
in
the
madness
of
the
hotel
zone
and
we
were
glad
we
did.
The
cost
of
course
was
a
plus;
the
nearby
restaurants,
all
within
a
5-10
min
walk
were
great
as
we
had
lunch
and
dinner
out.
We
had
cereal
and
our
own
coffee
in
the
room
for
breakfast.
The
owners
and
staff
were
super
friendly
and
helpful
and
gave
advice
on
nearby
things
to
do/places
to
eat.
We
rented
bikes
nearby
and
the
hotel
owner
allowed
us
to
keep
them
overnight
at
their
nearby
laundry…almost
next
door.
We
spent
four
nights
here
in
January
2023,
we
had
no
issue
with
safety
whatsoever
and
we
walked
back
to
the
hotel
at
9-10
pm.
Also,
there
are
frequent
police
patrols
with
flashing
lights.
This
is
a
bit
strange
at
first
if
you
have
not
been
to
Mexico,
but
it
is
reassuring.
(We
have
been
to
Isla
Mujeres
and
Playa
Del
Carmen
and
this
is
typical
in
each
place.)The
suite
is
large
with
a
kitchen,
stove,
fridge
and
5gal
drum
of
bottled
water…a
super
helpful
amenity
as
carrying
water
to
your
room
is
heavy
and
inconvenient.
The
hotel
has
about
15
rooms
and
we
had
no
issue
with
noise.
The
beds,
(two
queens)
were
comfortable.The
the
air
conditioning
was
great
as
was
the
water
pressure
in
sink
and
shower.
About
the
only
item
to
be
aware
in
our
room
was
a
step
up
to
both
the
bathroom
and
the
kitchen.
Also,
there
is
no
elevator,
but
the
rooms
are
on
the
second
floor.
(Pls
check
with
the
hotel
as
not
all
rooms
may
have
steps.)
We
used
the
city
bus
R1
to
go
from
old
Cancun
to
the
hotel
zone….about
a
14
mile
stretch
of
hotels
and
several
public
beaches.
They
run
very
frequently
and
cost
20
pesos
a
trip
($1)/pp.
There
is
not
a
lot
to
do
in
downtown
old
Cancun,
but
a
recommendation
is
to
go
to
the
Mercado
28
and
eat
some
deep
fried
snapper!
Fabulous.
I
would
definitely
come
back
to
this
hotel
in
old
Cancun!
