I had a reservation at the Junior city express in Cancun for 10 nights. I got on a plane on thinking everything is confirmed and I was expected to have a room at this hotel. My airport transfer dropped me off to the hotel and a lady in reception named America informed me my booking had been cancelled by city express because of some sort of made up issue with my card. I just want to clarify that there is nothing wrong with my card and it works normally. On booking.com it did not give me an option to pre-pay the only option was pay at property. Which brings me to my next issue, why were city express trying to take funds out of my card and even cancelling my ENTIRE reservation when I was due to pay at property. Meanwhile, I spent 1 hour of my time being told at the hotel by America and another lady who I am assuming is the supervisor who was extremely rude to me and ignored me while I was literally very upset and explained to them I am a solo female traveller and they had no sympathy whatsoever. Perhaps that lady was the one who cancelled my reservation because she could not look me in the eye once. I was treated so disgusting I would not wish that on another human being. America told me there are no rooms available even though 1 hour ago my reservation was still confirmed. I showed them my email reservation and asked if we could proceed with my booking because I could not believe what was going on. They basically told me who is a female who is solo travelling to leave and go elsewhere. At that point I had been up for almost 24 hours travelling. These people in reception had no human understanding and wasted 1 hour of my time. Perhaps they saw I was a booking a room for one person and cancelled my booking to give to someone else perhaps for 2 people so they can make more money. Do not waste your time with these heartless people

I really had a bad experience here. First the room was so old, the towels had holes. The key room didn't work and everytime we wanted to enter our room we had to call security so he can opened the room. It wasn't cheap the hotel to had that service. The only good thing was the breakfast! And the staff of the pool and restaurant.

Go only if you need a quick one night stay near the airport and don’t have other options. Customer service is so-so. Could not connect to wifi and the air conditioning never cooled the room. It was just like a noisy fan. We were informed that the included breakfast was until 9 AM at this hotel and until noon at the City Express Suites next door. Then in the morning, they said that the included breakfast was only until 9AM at both hotels and that after 9 it had extra charge. They ended up giving us a discount on the breakfast after making the claim.

Me and my sister booked a room there, went in and immediately noticed how it smelled like mold. Thought that would be fine, we were going to stay just one night. But then we found cockroaches. Decided to leave, receptionist was friendly until we told him about the issues in the room and asked if it was possible to get our money back. He send a guard to check the room and then they accused us of smoking in there, which we didn't do. Of course, we didn't get our money back :/

Room had cockroaches, dirty sheets and heavy smell of mold. Staff was friendly until we told of these problems, after that they became rude and angry and accused us of smoking inside which we didn’t do. And refused to give us any money back, even though we had to leave in the middle of the night because the room was so bad.

The only reason why we picked this hotel was that our flight to Cancun was at 21.30 and we knew we would need transfer from the airport. This was the place that offered it so we chose it. What a mistake that was. I wrote to them four times- nobody replied. When we arrived I called them 5 times and nobody answered. Nobody was waiting for us, so we were all alone in Mexico, with a tone of strangers proposing transportation. We chose the official taxi which costs 68 USD!!! When we arrived at the hotel, I informed the staff that I want to pay 68 USD less - the exact amount that should be included in the price I pay for the hotel. Instead I received 8 dollars discount and they said that transfer is a courtesy, whatever that means. Oh and they do not speak English. So if you care only for the transfer, I suggest choosing another options.

This hotel has seen better days. It still works a quick stopover with breakfast included. The rooms leave much to be desired (musty air conditioning, slow drains, phones don’t work). However, the staff were all helpful and friendly, and are holding it together.

Unfortunately very bad experience compared to other stays in City Express in other locations. Hotel is old, poorly mantained, aircons are antique and incredibly noisy (if they work at all). Nobody takes care of cleaning during breakfast and it's impossible to eat after 8am, tables and chairs are disgusting. There is a horrible smell in the lobby at the entrance. Some staff are really unprofessional in the reception. Beds are relatively comfy and is good to have a parking just beside...unfortunately not much more of a highlight. Hope thr chain can do something about it, we are not willing to stay in any other City Express again...

The staff were amazing. They were so helpful and patient with my limited Spanish. My family was having a rough time because my mom was in the hospital nearby and they were wonderfully accommodating. The free breakfast was great, lots of variety. I appreciated that the coffee machine was available all the time, not just during breakfast. The rooms are very basic, but decent. Reasonably clean. I'm giving 3 stars because of the terrible smell. The rooms are extremely damp and have an awful, musty, moldy smell.

So here is the breakdown, the place really really smells bad and all your clothes will smell bad also because there’s so much mildew in this hotel. Let’s talk about rooms, simple motel style rooms. Don’t let the Marriott affiliation fool you. Cold water In shower and tiny tiny bathrooms. We had to buy breakfast across he street, be the breakfast absolutely sucks. Definitely not American breakfast as sated on website. For cheap desperate situations, it will do. In our case , my husband got sick and we had to put him in a room,

Very pungent odor throughout the hotel, clogged sinks

Great prices. The rooms are small, but they're just a place to sleep. The shopping centre across the street has a lot of good restaurants.
