DO NOT stay here by any means. The young guy who says he's the owner is creepy, dishonest and hurts people and damages their belongings, forcing you to spend thousands of pesos getting your belongings fixed. If you're a woman I would stay even farther away from here, if he can get a knife and destroy your things, you can only imagine what he could do to people. They have been reported to the police and hotel management in Cancun and we hope this places gets shut down.

This is the best hotel we stayed during our 3 weeks vacation. Everything is amazing, the decoration of the room and the hotel the wonderful hospitality of Monika, the breakfast, the location, the internet, spoiling shower with hot wateר and lots of scent and candles

We are having a really great experience! The hosts are very kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. The place has chill vibes, very cute decorations, and very clean. Good location, great room, very nice pool area and rooftop area. Definitely recommend!

Unpredictable, rude & lying owner - spare yourself the trouble & don’t go. Disclaimer: we didn’t stay at the place despite a reservation, we got kicked out… 
Summary: the main reason I would advise to NOT GO is that I got DEATH THREATS and images of mutilated bodies from the owner’s contacts accusing me of violence that has not happened. This hotel seems to have quite some good reviews, but rightly so also some very bad ones, so it seems very unpredictable what you get here. 
Better be safe, spare yourself the trouble & go somewhere else! Back story: Me & my girlfriend arrived by car and the owner ‚welcomed‘ us outside, already passive aggressive because we arrived without updating her again on our arrival time while arriving at a totally reasonable hour (6.30pm). After few sentences, she (Monica Moray) asked us to park in a designated parking slot on the street, right in front of the hotel (because there was a surveillance camera). It was difficult for us to park with our rental car & the fact that the owner was watching and commenting on our driving was not helpful and rude. The atmosphere got a bit tense when we firmly asked her to let us park the way we’d like. After a few words back and forth Monica insulted as („you’re horrible people“) because we „didn’t know how to communicate or behave“; also storming into the house and screaming those type of comments. After a short but heated discussion from both sides („how dare you call your guests horrible“), the owner told us to leave and better stay somewhere else; as we felt very uncomfortable by that time, we agreed despite having a reservation. Note that AT NO POINT has there been any violence involved from our side; However, just a few hours later, we received violent messages (quoting:„I will kill you“), accusing me that I tried to hit the woman. After blocking the contact I received more messages from a different number with violent images (dead / mutilated bodies), threatening us. apparently attempts to intimidate and scare me/us.

Brakfast was nice. Room also. The owners are also nice and a good communication. You can Park your car in Front. Because we were the only guests we were allowed to Park in the camera Area with the car. So that it was protected by the surveillance cam. But its not needed. Wonderful one night stay.

A fabulous little hotel. It felt like a calm oasis right next to bustling Cancun. Monica and her son Alberto make you feel so welcome and are very helpful with local knowledge. It's very quirky and colourful and also clean with spacious rooms. Our room even had its own little garden to sit in. It's far more of a hotel than a hostel now, with no bar or nightlife. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The pool is beautiful to swim in and lounge in the courtyard. Breakfast is great - and eaten in such lovely surroundings. We loved it here.

For everyone it is not an hostel. The owner changed. The place is amazing, well placed and worth the stop. The breakfast was really good. The bed comfy and the free parkins usefull. So do not focus on review from 5 years and just GO!!

We stayed for one night here in Downtown Cancun before flying out. The hotel was absolutely lovely, in a great location right next to the main park, and breakfast was very tasty, especially the fresh fruit. They allowed us to have a late check in as our flight was later in the day and continue to use the facilities. The staff were very helpful and relaxed and I wish we stayed for longer!

We had an awesome stay here. The rooms were clean and spacious. The location is super central and easy to reach via bus from the airport. And the breakfast was very delicious. The entry door isn't super obvious to find, the big door facing the park is the correct main entry.

Very nice staff that are very helpful and nice. The hotel is very unique, it looked shady outside when we arrived at night and the entrance is hard to find we considered just going somewhere else, we had to call the staff. You climb up a small ladder stair to get to your room and the breakfast is no menu, but good with coffee, fruits, yoghurt and eggs. For someone from europe who wants to go somewhere unique, go for it. If you just wanted a decent hotel for your stay in cancun, maybe not.

I had a short but sweet stay at The Quetzal. Very friendly and accommodating staff, a great breakfast and big room with good facilities. The only thing to note is there is no reception/front desk so you need to knock if you need to speak to staff.

Amazing small cozy hotel. Really nice host, who gave us a late checkout, the breakfast here is absolutely amazing.. one of the best.. everything fresh. Even has a small but very useful gym. We will come back for sure

Can’t talk a lot about location because we pretty much stayed in the Quetzal the whole time. It’s like a cocoon of comfort in Cancun. Monica is absolutely amazing, very considerate and nice, breakfast is sooo good (amazing coffee and fruits) nice pool and super comfortable beds. We had an amazing time here and will definitely go back! Super recomend it 🤗

Lovely hotel near Cancun Centro. Little oasis garden with pool. Lovely comfortable beds and rooms. Wanted to stay longer. Monica the host is lovely and a pretty cool chica. Highly recommended for a homely stay here. Will return no problemo. Adiós Cancun 🇲🇽🔥🫶🏻

My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights before heading to hotel zone. We wanted to experience downtown Cancun. Location is great. You can walk to everywhere. We enjoyed local foods, street foods and local grocery store, park, mercados and so on. We arrived three hours early but room was ready as we had notified the owner early arrival when we had booked. When we walked in B&B, we saw how much Monica and Maria love their house. Everything was clean and detailed. Breakfast was excellent. We will come back with my kids sometime.

Amazing place to stay, everything was perfect! The staff here are super friendly, and the room is very clean. Wifi is reliable and fast. The common area is beautiful and nicely set up. The location is also extremely convenient and within walking distance to great food and covid testing sites. And I love the breakfast!! Will definitely return and recommend to friends.

Nice place to stay when in Cancún. Very good breakfast, nice swimming pool, clean towels and drinking water. Just bed for 2 ppl was pretty small.

Part 2: She quickly changed tone and went on a menacing and accusing rant that we are the reason they might have troubles with the government and it’s our fault if she looses her job. My girlfriend and I were kinda speechless, where did all this come from? Why are we being accused like that and treated like disrespectful kids? We told her how we felt and that all this situation was unbelievable. Long story short, we got KICKED OUT this morning. Instead of having a breakfast, we got “schooled” for no reason and got kicked out. By far the worst experience I have ever had. We are filing a complaint to Booking this week in order to get our money back. We refuse to pay for being KICKED OUT FOR NO REASON ! Avoid this hostel at all cost, the bad management that does not communicate essential information, the unnecessary rude and threatening tone, the hostess that does not follow the guidelines of the administrator at the expense of the guests left us with a biter feeling. The worst way to start a well deserve holiday and really bad image for this lovely country. Guillaume & Michelle

Wonderful gem, tucked away in in quite area of Cancun. Accomodation ideal for couples of all ages seeking something different with an owner/ manager that cares deeply for her guests. Heartedly recommend.
