Sadly it's such a competitive market when tourists come around the locals flock & haggle & it tends to be too much. The 1st store we stopped at filled us with tequila & then tries to sell me something for $125. I knew it was way too much & they were very sweet but an hr into shopping I found a nice Cuban guy who had what I wanted & didn't jack the price he was honest & I gave him $35 plus $5 for himself for being kind & not pushy. I've been to markets around the world & its so sad to see it this way. I appreciated the vendors who just said hello & come look. I didn't enjoy the ones who yelled or said come on its my turn. It's so competitive for the same items. I know it's a rat race but i was over it after 2hrs. Now lunch. Lunch was delicious in the center court. Red tablecloth tables.

Expensive, very expensive. Do people really pay $100 USD for a cheap bottle of flavored tequila or 2,975 pesos (about $150 USD) for an admittedly attractive painted skull? But they have letras de Cancun and Cantinflas, so I can't rate them as 1 star 🤭

Do not go here - absolutely overpriced souvenirs which are bad quality. Prices are fixed and completely do not make sense. Easy example - you wanna buy handmade bag - in this shop it is for 800 Mexican pesos and just hundred metres from this place there are another places where you buy it for 250 Mexican pesos. One glass shot is 250 Mexican pesos - I mean - do not support such scam. There are better places to buy stuff than this place - stands in Cancun, Chitzen Itza, Merida.

Some some pretty good deals. Everything in the tourist area and more are available. This place is a huge flea market type of plaza with several hundred booths/ vendors. More importantly you can experience the local cuisine, atmosphere and a little culture. What's the point of going to another country if you don't leave the resort area? The people were friendly but very persistent to sell something.

This is not Market 28. It looks like Market 28. There is tons of stuff there, but little expensive. Make sure you shop at correct Market 28. The actual Market 28 is a few blocks away from this place. It is an open air, flea market type of the place rather than a mall type place.

Beware of plaza, 28 in Cancun We were told it was a place to go to buy cheap stuff and souvenirs but it turns out to be we had a horrible experience with my family. Everyone was pushy there in the had the highest prices then the hotel did They were really trying to take advantage of all of us, foreigners asking the highest prices, and to top things off one of the guys there said he couldn’t bargain with us because everything was manipulated by the cartel as soon as we heard that me and my family left Cancun Plaza 28. We did not want to be around cartel members or finance the cartel with purchasing their stuff. So we went back to the hotel. Things were cheaper in the new mall by the Ferris wheel. Be careful where you going Cancun at be dangerous

This is the tourist trap which attempts to distracted tourists from going to Mercado 28 - the market locals (and tourists!) visit. There is plenty to look at as far as clothing, alcohol, jewelry and souvenirs. It is a nice stop - but there's more to see once you're done here!

There's a wide variety of stores and restaurants. I love all the souvenirs and clothing. They have very good prices. Most of the restaurants are very decent and affordable. Note that most of these places have their hand-made tortillas a soon. As you order your food. I love that about Mexico.

If you're looking for a place for shopping for souvenirs, true is the place. Recommend going here first. Inexpensive and most shops with be willing to bargain with you.

Very expensive! I read that hotel area is expensive and went and bought some items, but when we come to Hotel area we got same tequila at $40 plus tax but we bought it at $70 original quote of $130 at plaza 28. We also bought vanilla at higher price too. Please check mexican outlet store first before going to plaza 28, waste of money, rather enjoy your time in a beach

As others have said the place is a ripoff. The bus drivers ( r2 and r1 bus) are getting paid from the owners there to drop off and tell people (tourists) it's marqueta28. The products are 3× more expensive than the mom and pop shops around the area and at marqueta28. Marqueta28 is about 1/4 mile up the block (just ask a local on the street how to get there its literally up the block) . We got ripped of at this place. When we were done a local on the street who works at marqueta28 told us the scheme. I never right reviews but hopefully someone reads this and becomes aware.

Huge, you can get here almost anything. The items are well displayed, wide selection, easy to browse through and find what you are looking for. The items all have price labels, but they are highly negotiable - the price flexibility also depends on the volume you purchase and your means of payment. Do take advantage of the tequilla and mezcal tasting! They have some of the best bottles open for tasting. We also tried the restaurant. Prices are not the lowest, but the portions were very big! See photos for temptation.

Plaza 28 is a joke everything is way over priced for what there really selling. So what I heard was that if you tell the busdriver on route2 to tell u when u get to marqueta28 they leave u in front of Plaza 28..... that's so messed up especially for tourist that don't know better they get bamboozled all the way home. 😂 They sell cheap stuff for 4 times the price. No thank you we walked 3 more blocks and there was marqueta28 The Bus drivers get money from plaza28 for taking the tourist to that Plaza28.

Vide range of different gifts and items to buy. However, the pressure from the sales teams was a bit much but I understand that's what they need to but yeah didn't really feel like sticking around.

I will say this, despite being jam packed with tourist trap shops, it's a good place to get a cheap meal and see a lityle bit of a more authrnyic mexican experience

The staff is really friendly and helpful. There are many choices. You are sure to find something. I bought 2 espresso cups at 125 pesos/each. My disappointment, I saw exactly the same cups at Walmart 10 minutes walk for 89pesos each 😱 On the jewelry side, I bought a ring and a pendant. My disappointment, when I arrived at the house, the stone was broken. A piece was missing. 😡

Same stuff for sale, just more of it. If you want a lot if souvenirs worth the trip take the R2 bus from the hotel zone to get a feel of downtown Cancun. Yes you will be safe

It's a very large market. If you love haggling this is the place for you, if you don't like being followed & hounded by people trying to sell you something, stay away. You won't really get any bargains here, if you're looking for bargain souvenirs, shoes, hats, vanilla, etc. go across the street to Walmart. From the hotel zone, take an R2 bus for 20 pesos or$1 USD. About a 30 minute ride.

Don’t go here! We thought this was Market 28 because the bus driver said that was were he was taking us. It’s very touristy, which was fine but one member of the staff FOLLOWED US THE WHOLE TIME! I get it’s a business and they are trying to sell, but it was incredibly annoying.

Nice shop to walk around. Not too pushy. Much nicer than mercado 28, where the vendors are super pushy.

Lovely market if you are looking for Mexican crafts and silver, just be careful because they sometimes mix the local items with others, double check. Also prices are higher if you speak in English or ask in dollars. There is a lot of competition amongst the different shops. I still recommend the visit and encourage you to buy there instead of the expensive souvenir shops near the hotel….you will be helping the locals. I specially loved the quality of the Mexican tablecloths and some of the silver and ceramics.

It's a nice little "Plaza" #28 located on Av. Tankah 25, 77509 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico There are some stores with original Mexico souvenirs, clothing, jewelry and spirits/ liquor. The people are nice, friendly and want to sell! The larger Marcado#28 is straight down the street from the taxi station on the left hand side .

It’s a pretty cool vibe. We spent 2hrs there and I think that’s enough. We bought a few cool souvenirs as well. Definitely recommended!
