My fav beach in Cancun… long and wide strip of white powdered and cool sand post card scene… Right behind Plaza Forum Shopping Mall, at Kilometer 9.5 of Cancun’s Hotel Zone lies Gaviota Azul Beach. It is one of the favorite beaches for tourists due to its long and wide strip of white powdered and cool sand as well as the many bars and beach clubs around it. In Cancun, I have been to 8-9 beaches from north to south and found this beach very beautiful. I had been to Playa Norte but due to storm reef-seaweed was all over the shore so could not enjoy there. And I found this beach next to Playa Norte. It is right behind the Hard-rock café-coco bongo nightclubs. You can go inside the water and still you 'll find yourself till waist height. There is one small hill and you can have perfect postcard picture from here with turquoise beach, building, sun and sand. Vendors are there to rent you out reclining chairs and umbrellas for 200-300 pesos. It gets pretty crowded during Spring Break as many events take place on it. Even though most of the time the water is calm, when the wind blows hard the waves get pretty big; an opportunity not missed by local surfers. As this is in the hotel zone, you 'll have to find an access point. Right down to coco bongo signboard, you can find small street going towards the beach. Take that. We found it that good, we even came In the evening to sit on the hill. Breezy wind, waves, sunset, making the time more beautiful. If this beach is not better than not even less than Playa Norte beach.

Umbelievable the various shades of blue and green. Love this beach. I like the Mandala beach club where you get either a big lounge bed or chaise lounges and umbrella. You pay a fee but you use that to order food and drinks. An excellent way to spend an afternoon.

The only beach with public access and without big waves and sargasso. It is protected from the east winds.

This is my family's favorite beach! Parking is easy to find if you drive past the clubs and snag a spot on the street leading up to the hotels. The entrance to this beach is on the right hand side of MANDALA. Type in Mandala Beach Club on maps and it'll show you the way in. From there you can take a left all the way to the very end where they have the large wall of rocks (breakers to slow the waves) which keeps this beach relatively peaceful. This is the cleanest beach we've found. Gorgeous blue water and white, powdery sand. There is very little debris and kelp wash up. You can choose to stay where the partiers are by the 7-eleven by Mandala to enjoy the EDM, club music or walk all the way left to the end by Hyatt Hotel where it is quieter and more calm. Overall the best beach in Hotel Zone and Cancun area that we've found!

Hidden gem of a beach! The only public access we could find was at Playa Forum (street right next to Coco Bongos). So it was a bit of a walk, but well worth it to have more sand space. Calmer waves, and some AWESOME snorkeling if the waters are calm enough or if you have a kayak or paddleboard to take you out past the man-made rock/concrete jetty. Saw tons of tropical fish.

Hard to get to if you're not staying at one of the hotels. Only access is by Coco Bongo and it's far. No seating, no food no fun. God forbid you try to go through any of the hotels to try and get to the street. Guy at Hotel Ziva (Hyatt) threatened to call the police on my wife and I and we are far from the type to cause trouble. Big reason why tourism is in decline here. Get it together Cancun. Te pasas.

One of the best Cancun's beaches. You can find both high and low waves, good music and amazing spots for your photos

An exceptionally love beach. It is a bit of a trek to initially get onto the beach and work your way to the point and because it is fronted by big hotels there are no parasols available to hire, so bring your own. The whole coastal area is very shallow, so great for kids.

Beautiful white sand, very clear water, but so much seaweed. They do try to clean the beach, but it's like a never ending battle and the weed wins. Sometimes there is so much in the water it's just not nice to swim.

This beach is tucked to the left of forum and is much nicer. There's not as many people and it is calmer.

Beautiful beach with clean water and a decent amount of seaweed dried up on the sand. Perfect for swimming and tanning. Nice waves. Lots of stores, restaurants, bars around.

Best beach best swim in cancun. The breakwater makes for waters calm enough to actually swim in. Great for families or anyone who actually wanted to get in the water. Clean. Fantastic. Easy access not too far of a walk from the entry by the coco bongo and 7-11.

There was a lot of seaweed in the waters but the parts that were clear was very pretty and you were able to bathe
