Attempting to cancel a timeshare contract that was presented there. We followed a cancellation clause within the 5 days period, but no deposit payment was returned after the 15 business day period. We have been attempting to contact the sales person, contact phone numbers and emails, but no responses, not even automated out of office or will respond soon. DO NOT sign anything there - if this is how they work then this timeshare is an example of the poor reputation of many other you hear about. Update after 2 weeks - The facebook contact responds great, I found a number for the memberships - he said they had been trying to call me but no one was answering. My call record has no unanswered call and I have no voicemail either. He gave me a number for the group that handles the returns and you get put on hold for 5 mins then it hangs up (called 3 times). So still unresolved and unimpressed. Still in the process of the return. Email have been received that say it will be cancelled - still waiting for the balance to complete in the accounts.

The purpose of my visit was to go to a promotional event held by the hotel with an offer to become a member. The hotel is very impressive and I am sure they treat there members quite well. Unfortunately for me to not be interested in becoming a member for my own personal reasons was truly frowned upon and they told me that I can see myself out. Then I had to find someone willing to help me find a Suttle back to my hotel. So although there start was lovely there finish was not so much. The point of a good closing during any presentation is to ensure that the person not only thinks about your company again but might also reconsider there choices later simply based on the memory of the way they where treated that day. Think of a runner whom starts out in the race strong but ends it walking. Although they finished they didn't finish with any heart.

We are RCI members and were able to exchange into the Sunset Royal Beach Resort for two weeks starting mid November 2021. We really enjoyed our stay and want to thank Alberto (RCI representative) for going the extra mile for us. As a newly renovated room, there were a few items that had not been restocked and Alberto was most helpful in procuring them. The rest of the review is mostly information about the resort from the perspective of timeshare owners that DO NOT take the all-inclusive package. Here goes There is a decontamination box (not kidding) they ask you to enter on arrival. It sprays you with disinfectant. I’m not sure what you are sprayed with and in hindsight would not enter the booth. After the first spray, you are just asked to use get hand sanitizer when you re-enter the resort. We were told that floors 6 to 9 don't have kitchenettes. We were offered a free welcome meal at the beginning of each week we stayed. Choose the Italian restaurant. You can pick three courses and two beverages. At this time, the 4th floor is under renovation. From 9am to 5pm Mon to Fri it was very noisy. The third floor is the next floor to be renovated. We started with a room on the triangle which was noisy due to the restaurant 6 am till 11 pm. We moved to a renovated studio with kitchenette after the first night. Room was very nice, but missing a few kitchen items (cutting knives, bowls, drying towel, paper towels). The only appliances are a toaster, coffee pot (they provide the coffee) and blender. New induction cook tops have been installed, however the pots and pans supplied are not for induction and therefore would not heat up. Alberto provided a portable thermal hot plate with 2 burners the next day. For Groceries, it’s a 15-minute walk to the Selecto food store. Dairy, produce and meat on third floor. If you just need a box of beer or a jug of water, there is an OXXO and a Circle K about 5 minutes from the resort. Beach loungers’ availability varied; first few days some were free till noon. But over Thanksgiving week, needed to be there earlier. The Royalton Resort next door plays techno, electric, rap part of the day. There’s a nightly show in the lobby and music at 9:30 pm. Free coffee service on 8th floor with a sitting area and nice view to the lagoon. Coffee machine grinds the beans and make the coffee style you choose (espresso, americano, cappuccino). Pastries were available the first few days then only cookies for the remaining days. Beach Towel service is free. The hotel is a triangle. Rooms 01 - 07 face west and are on the lagoon side with balconies. Rooms 08 - 14 have ocean view facing NE. Rooms 15 A & B are corner rooms with a second window. Rooms 16 - 20 face SE looking onto the pool. Rooms 21 - 26 are a wing off the triangle and the view is straight out onto the ocean, these rooms are quieter as the restaurant on the ground floor is in the center of the triangle and can get noisy. Rooms 8 - 26 have a French balcony.

During our stay from Jan 25-29, 2024, with 2 adults, a toddler, and a 10-year-old, we found the room clean, and the food and drink variety was satisfying. The front desk, bar, and restaurant staff were attentive and helpful. However, our experience was marred by the assertive timeshare/vacation club staff, taking over our time without prior notice. Despite the claim of a kids club, it was more of a kids-watching activity, hindering the ability to engage in half-day activities. Mixed feelings arise from our stay due to poor communication, making me feel our time wasn't respected despite my inclination to plan by the rules. While the night activities at the outdoor theatre were enjoyable, overall, the stay left me with reservations.

"Sunset Royal Beach Club in Cancun exceeded our expectations with its incredible value for a lower-cost all-inclusive experience! During our stay from Nov 16-18, we were treated to three fantastic nights at this gem. The resort's atmosphere was imbued with a delightful cultural charm that extended across the entire property. While the food could have been better and late-night room service would have been a plus, these minor points did not overshadow the overall fantastic experience. Considering the price point, these were minor trade-offs we were willing to accept. In fact, the value for money here far surpasses what one might expect to pay $100-$200 more per day at another resort. A highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the pool area, where Alma and Nestor made our days lively and enjoyable. Their dedication to making the 8:30 night activities fun, coupled with their sweet and professional demeanor, truly added to our memorable experience. Kudos to them and the entire resort team for maintaining such high standards of service and hospitality! Moreover, the proximity to the beach was fantastic, and being just four resorts away from the Hotel Fun Zone provided the perfect balance between tranquility and access to entertainment. In summary, Sunset Royal BC in Cancun offers exceptional value, a delightful ambiance, and a dedicated staff that goes above and beyond. Despite minor improvements that could be made, our stay here was nothing short of remarkable, earning this resort a glowing five-star rating!"

Staff is very polite and kind, always there to help. Room we had it had some issues like air conditioning stopped working & small bugs were coming out of the sink. It was also very noisy at night. Kitchen staff was very loud since they were finishing up their shifts. Food was nothing too crazy. Had to leave few times out of the resort to eat something better. Drinks were sometimes too sweet and watered down. Depending who was making them. The resorts beach was clean. Overall we had an OK stay, nothing extraordinary for the money we paid.

Terrible customer service from the moment we entered this place. ALBERTO from front desk was responsible for majority of this, along with miscommunication from their reservations team and the hotel. We had paid for an upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette, and 5 days of all inclusive out of 7. The reservations team FAILED to forward this information to the hotel, and our room was not ready when we arrived. Since we arrived on a Saturday, the hotel couldn’t get a hold of reservations, and the best they could do for us was upgrade us to a 1 bedroom suite without a kitchenette. We had 4 adults and 1 toddler staying with us, and had specifically paid for this upgrade to have a kitchenette for making food for our toddler. Once we managed to talk to reservations on Monday, they said they were extremely sorry for the mistake but refused to compensate us in any way for it. Alberto from front desk was told by reservations of the issue, and kept claiming that there were 2 bedroom suites available. This was in October in an OFF-PEAK SEASON, and the resort was mostly EMPTY. After asking him a couple more times, it seemed pretty obvious that he just did not want to give us the upgrade. On top of this, Alberto CUT OFF our access early on our last day off all inclusive (we were told it was valid until 11 AM) and REFUSED to let us have breakfast. We didn’t even care about breakfast, except for the fact that we did not have a kitchenette as promised and our toddler needed to be fed. It seemed really ridiculous to be arguing over breakfast with the front desk at an all inclusive. The only thing this place has going for it is the workers at the restaurants, specifically MARICELA, as well as the service from the concierge, ROGELIO. Rogelio was the only person that showed any interest in making sure that we enjoyed our time there, and did everything he could to compensate us by giving us an extra day of all inclusive and a free tour for 2 of us to Chichen Itza.

My wife and I had our honeymoon here. Resort is wonderful, location on the beach is excellent! But when it comes to service it is above and beyond. Everyone is so joyful and helpful. My guy Carlos from the pool area was excellent! He was taking care of us all week. Even made his way down to the beach to check on us and bring drinks. Couldn't have asked for a better time and, we will for sure be back.

Do not stay here. Do not purchase the timeshare. THIS RESORT WILL SCAM YOU. They ran my credit without my permission. They put a $6000 loan in my name without my permission. We were just there on August 12 now they are telling me I can’t cancel when the rep guarantee able to pull out whenever we want to and get all money back. Decline to write any of your personal information on any paperwork. Any blank spaces make sure you write 0 in it. I left a space blank and they typed In the requested amount for the loan and then told me I signed for it when I didn’t. I didn’t put my correct social security number and they still put this loan in my name. Once I told the rep I wanted to cancel everything he then told me he could no longer communicate with me. The American side company told me I have to take legal actions. Please BE AWARE I WOULD HATE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE IT IS A NIGHTMARE.

The Sunset Royal Beach hotel is located in the Zona Hotelera of Cancun and it has a very good location. This hotel is nice with a lot of amenities the swimming pool is nice and big. They have live entertainment every day and many activities around the swimming pool area. The food is delicious with a lot to choose from. But one of the best things of this hotel is the beach, is beautiful and you have access right across from the swimming pool. If you are looking to stay in a hotel with a nice beach, this is your place to spend your vacation and have a great time with your family and friends. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will stay here again!!!

A bit disappointed with the place. Overall the resort is nice and the staff is as well. My complaints start with the pool, which closes at 7pm. In my opinion that is a bit early. My next issue is, they don't really have a sofa in the living room. It's more of a bed about 6 inches off of the floor, that converts into a type of sofa on the floor, and if you're in a two bedroom suite (sleeps six), you get two of them. Our biggest issue was we also had construction going on above our room that started at 8:30 am. No memo or warning from the front desk before hand to give us a heads up. It was a bit disturbing to wake up to hammering, drilling and sawing directly above our room bright and early.

The staff here were truly amazing in every way. From the staff at the pool, staff in the restaurants, front desk and the cleaning staff. They truly are stewards of their profession and the utmost of professionalism. Every day the entire staff showed the highest level of respect and sincerity and welcoming every step of the way. Even working Christmas, they still were more than friendly. It was an absolute honor to spend the holidays with this amazing crew and this wonderful place. We actually stayed at sunset marina but went to royal multiple times and were greeted the same at both place, however I'm more partial to the marina crew. If you are on the fence, take my word for it this is the place to be. Very cozy and elegant with delicious food and wonderful drinks. It has views that are almost otherworldly. The beach is gorgeous and pictures look photoshopped they are so beautiful. If any questions, please feel free to reach out!

We visited from one of the partner resorts. The beach is absolutely beautiful, and there is plenty of seating for everyone. Service was great, the pool was nice. Unfortunately the food and drinks were just ok. I'd be shocked if my Miami Vice actually had any alcohol in it. And the food was less than delicious. Great to hang out at the beach and pool for the day though!

We had a wonderful time over the past week. Food was very tasty and service was great. The tequila excursion was especially nice with a beautiful setting for pictures. Housekeepers were most willing to please though the limited English presented some challenges. This place is in the process of being upgraded. There is a shuttle that runs every hour between sister properties for convenience.

This is a wonderful resort with great service. Sure, it's not a 5-star but the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, esp. when you have kids. The pool has fun activities and the staff tries engaging everyone for their pool stuff. They have a "drive-thru" mini bar where they knock on your hotel door to offer you drinks. The buffet at the restaurant in the lobby has delicious food! The pool bar has burgers, hot dogs and nachos. Bar tender was great! The resort has access to the beach and beach side service. The rooms are nice with comfy beds, the showers have rain shower heads and good products. Worth the stay!!!

I am curious why this place has a high rating. This is worst experience i have in Cancun. My family went to cancun total of 5 time, and this hotel offers the worst of all. The hotel has only 1 swimming poor, no kid water park. The food cant be eaten, terrible. They cant even make their national taco dish. The service is too slow. If you want a better family vacation, you should stay away from this hotel.

Let's start with the good: - The hotel is located in an excellent area. - The beach is right at the hotel's doorstep. - The rooms have been renovated and are comfortable. - The food is generally well-prepared and tasty. - There is a water taxi available, but I don't think you'd want to go to the hotel it offers. - The price I paid compared to the hotel's location was good. The bad: - The dining options are incredibly limited. There is no variety. - The few offerings they have frequently run out, leaving even fewer options available. - There is a shortage of staff in the restaurants, so you may end up waiting over an hour and a half to receive your order. (It happened to us on more than one occasion) - The restaurants have limited seating capacity, and you often have to wait in line for up to 30 minutes to get into the à la carte restaurants. - The other hotels they offer to visit are of low quality, even those advertised as 4 stars are not worth visiting. - They only have one pool, which is small, old, and poorly maintained. My daughter cut her foot on a broken tile. - They only have one espresso machine, and it was broken. - The rooms have a terrible odor, like an unflushed bathroom. You won't find any ice cream offers anywhere in their hotels. - Overall, the experience feels cheap (in line with what I paid :) ) The rooms are cleaned late, often after 4 pm. The ugly: - From the moment you arrive, you feel the sales atmosphere that permeates all hotel activities, from check-in to check-out. - The "presentation" you have to attend, which they promise will only last between 90 and 120 minutes, actually takes up the whole morning or afternoon, wasting your midday. - The waiters are overwhelmed, and there is not enough staff to attend to guests in the restaurants. Conclusion: - If you want to have a good and peaceful vacation where you are well taken care of and the service is customer-centered rather than focused on how much they can sell you, then stay away from this place at all costs. However, if you are willing to save some money and spend a few days in the hotel area of Cancun, you might consider this option, especially if you are traveling with 2 adults and 2 children. Just be prepared to sacrifice comfort and experience.

Thought we were getting oceanview but got lagoon view which looks at the street and traffic. Also makes no sense that this side has balconies to sit on but oceanfront doesn't. For all inclusive have limited times and choices of food. Glad I didn't have kids to feed. Other places I've stayed that are all inclusive had buffets not this place! Very disappointing. Room smelled musty.

I don’t even know where to begin!! We had our honeymoon here and it was terrible. The first room we had looked like a room stuck in the 90s. It was so old that they don’t even have a picture of it on their website. Our ac wasn’t working and it took them 3 hours to swap a room. Our clothes were soaked from the broken ac. The next room wasn’t any better we dealt with it until the morning…we bought it to the managers attention in the morning and he showed us rooms for two hours claiming there was nothing better…Each room had visible mold and had the noise of construction. I was sick every day because of the black mold and the front desk said it’s normal and that they are immune to the mold. No solution whatsoever!!! The food was DISGUSTING!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Sunset Royal is like paradise and so very beautiful. You will not be disappointed! The pool, beach, rooms, views and restaurants are excellent. The sunrise and sunsets here are breathtaking. There is a little something here for everyone… from romantic getaway to family fun. They even have awesome entertainment each night. We have been coming back for years. Such a great location.. The staff are friendly and do all they can to accommodate your needs. They honestly feel like family and treat you that way. You’ll want to come back again and again! I promise! The beach here in Cancun is white sand, soft, gorgeous and Raphael over the beach and pool area at Sunset Royal is so very kind and keeps everyone happy and you feel like this place is your new home away from home…Only better!! Welcome to paradise!! Thank you Sunset Royal! The best!!

We only stayed in this resort for couple days. It is considered 4 star hotel but everything about it was average. What is surprising that we stayed in 4 star hotel here in Cancun just couple hotels down and service, facilities, food, rooms are just incomparable. You really get what you pay for. It is not horrible but I would not come back. I stayed in better resorts before.

The stay was nice but the only downfall was that we didn't have hot water in our shower during our entire trip. We complained every day. There was so much seaweed in the water that you couldn't go into it. On the upside, We traveled to the other hotels they owned and swam in their pools and ate at their hotels which was different. Service was great at all hotels. Daniel was an awesome waiter whenever we got him. Vladimir was an awesome host during the presentation that we had to go to.

Overall nice place, clean and all-inclusive available. Great view to the beach from the rooms. Some Staff had the $$ sign in their eyes when they looked at us. Snobby at checkout when you're past 4pm. We had a late flight so didn't get picked up till after 530pm, 4pm forward we were technically nobodies. Bar 95% lonely, except 1 night we gathered many people and made new friends. 👍 Hector at the bar was the only down to earth human being at this ace however. Treated us like guests but also like buddies. 👍 Concierge when we asked many questions on tours etc we got the stinkeye. Liliana was cool but forgot to book our tours and lost a day of fun.

cannot stress enough how bad, not poor, but BAD the food was!! We tried all 3 restaurants and room service, just to be left incredibly disappointed. This is an ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT, which means you are counting on the food and drinks to be good. Not here!! Everything was so bad, we survived on bread, beer, and eating elsewhere! As for the resort, it was average at best. Some of the staff was nice and accomdating, while others seemed disinterested and put out. We actually thought about shortening our trip all together. My advice, stay somewhere else, especially if you plan on eating and drinking on your vacation! Adios Cancun!

Front desk service is hit and miss at this hotel. The rooms were incredible clean and the house keepers are extremely nice and respectful. Why two stars? Because I had a front desk manager during dinner inform me that they are out of masks, nor could i wear a cloth mask. The manager told my pregnant wife that we could eat outside in the rain. That experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I doubt we will return.

My wife and I vacation here last week and it was a wonderful experience. They treated us like we were the only two people there. The entire staff was wonderful and courteous and the service was top notch. The food was wonderful as well as the drinks and entertainment. Our room and accommodations were amazing. Elio and Luis and Rafael on the beach really made our experience a special one. They are the best. Everyday they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of 100 percent. The sunset royal is lucky to have such professional people like them working at their resort. They truly made us feel special and like family. I would definitely recommend this resort if you are looking to go to Cancun. I have been to Cancun at other resorts but this one is definitely my favorite. Thanks for a wonderful vacation and we will definitely be coming back again soon.

My overall experience was great! I don't know what 5 star rating the hotel uses but I was a little disappointed being that it was rated 5 stars. The check in process went well. I LOVED that your room key was a wrist band and not a card key. The room was small and had ABSOLUTELY NO PRIVACY!!! The toilet area and shower had frosted doors and no solid wall separating the bathroom area from the sleeping area (I hated this the most). Then one day our toilet wouldn't flush and when we called for assistance, they came to plung it but told us that the water was off throughout the hotel. It took them 3 times total and 2 days to fix our toilet issue. That was EXTREMELY inconvenient. We had a nice balcony with chairs and a table that had a view of the lagoon and the beach beyond that. When booking the resort they asked if there were any dietary restrictions. I mentioned that I was Vegan. I would have rathered they not even ask because there was absolutely no consideration for that. I even ordered oatmeal from room service and it was swimming in milk 🤦🏾‍♀️. The facilities were standard. The restaurant food was not consistent but the staff did try to accommodate my special food requests. I didn't understand why we had to give our room number to "check out" towels when going to the beach and upon returning them that wasn't noted. We were confused because we saw other guests leaving their towels out that were later collected by hotel staff. The access to the beach was THE BEST part!!! It was a breathtaking view and experience. I also liked that they had nightly shows in their outdoor theater and entertainment in the hotel lobby. That was fun. I attended a timeshare presentation and wasn't impressed. When I travel there in the future, I would not return to this hotel.

The beach was beautiful and the resort was excellent. The food was also good. People were nice. If there is one question or suggestion is that the lobby entertainment always ended at 11pm. I'm sure there's a reason but I would've wanted to enjoy it until 1am at least. my moms friend got married there and they were very accommodating. I spent my bday there and requested a small cake and they delivered. I recommend it.

Sunset Royal Beach resort always makes me feel at home with familiar faces to greet me and catch up with during each stay from arrival to departure. Strangely enough, it feels like a family reunion. The staff genuinely takes pride in maintaining a friendly, safe, and memorable environment for its members and guests.

We enjoyed our stay two weeks ago at Sunset Royal Beach. Room was great and staff very friendly. Special thanks to the food and beverage team for being so attentive and accommodating to my wife’s gluten allergy. William and Israel were especially helpful along with Rodrigo and pool area bartender Jostin. She was able to enjoy her stay thanks to your efforts.

Location is great, rooms spacious but the exhaust in bathroom is broken, was not fix during our stay. Our room nearby the dining room so we can hear plates and other noises from outside early morning and late night. Customer service was terrible, dining employees choose who to serve diligently and not courteous. Suppose to check in at 3:00 the front desk let us know that we have to wait for 30 minutes for our room because it’s not ready. I would understand if it peak season but I visited off peak, ask for a difference ready room they said no we have to wait.

We were staying at one of their other hotels and sadly didn't know we were able to move to this one, but we spent most of our time here because the beach was great, the pool was way better than at our hotel and the food was night and day superior in every way. Staff was again amazing 5 ☆s. We don't know what the rooms were like here but everything else was great. We wish we had stayed here instead of where we were.

Just returned from our family vacation at Sunset Royal - we had a great time. The staff is amazing. My daughter has a lot of food allergies and the Food and Beverage Manager, William, made sure the chef knew what to prepare so she could eat foods that were safe. Additionally, Allen was our waiter and he went above and beyond to make sure our daughter was able to eat every meal safely. Veronica at the concierge desk took great care of us as well. Raffeal, the beach manager, took excellent care of us. Uriel and Havier were so kind and helpful. The beach and the pool here are beautiful.

Our Concierge, Veronica, was fantastic. Be aware this is part of a time share and in the morning it is extremely busy in the lobby with tourists and guides playing their parts in the routine. There are 2 areas near the beach and pool that are members however we had no issues getting a umbrella by the pool or grass hut on the beach.

Rooms were spacious and well-appointed. Check-in was a breeze and the service was great. I was not a fan of the food, which was rather bland. I don't know if I would return because of the food. I have been to other all inclusives in Mexico that had a greater variety and much more flavorful food. Maybe Americans would like it, but as a Mexican, I prefer a little more zest.

Good location. Not the nicest resort. Older location but the staff is great with the exception of the Club Sunset sales staff. They were incredibly pushy and verbally aggressive...very unprofessional and its not a prodcut worth buying. I booked with RCI and Alberto at the front desk was absolutely incredible. By far the best employee at the resort. The concierge staff and spark travel employees were helpful. Overall, I would stay here again.

Stayed at this resort for the first time. Really enjoyed my stay. The staff was awesome, kind, friendly & always willing to help if needed. Rooms were wonderfully clean when we checked in. The food at the restaurants downstairs were good. Authentic and tasty. Would stay here again if we come back to Cancun.

You couldn't ask for a better location. There isn't a bad view, all are water views, most beach and others of the lagoon. The beach is ideal. Soft sand and is kept immaculately. There are plenty of places to set up on the beach under some shade. The pool is perfect for relaxing or kiddos. There is a shallow, one foot deep, surround and the rest is about four feet deep. There's a bar and snacks close by to the pool too. They food was good. Nothing was disappointing, but the Mexican food was the best by far. Room service was pretty quick and definitely easy. Our room was very nice. It had a great balcony with seating. The design wasn't the most modern but everything was in good shape and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Not everyone spoke fluently in English but we had no issues communicating. If you have a lot of electronics, I recommend a brick with multiple ports because there aren't tons of plugs next to the beds. As an all inclusive, this was truly a vacation. Everything needed to relax was there and no need to lift a finger.

Perfect small hotel with quick access to the beach, perfect if you are staying a few nights and can’t afford walk +30min to the beach. Great staff, they do their best. Good it’s OK, only 3 theme restaurants and very few vegetarian options but I had a good time.

I couldn't be more disappointed with my stay, First I booked this hotel from my banks travel portal, I selected the correct number of guest and age, however at check in they informed me that my 13 year old needs to be added as an adult and I need to pay extra $420 for her stay since she is charged as an adult, What?! Secondly, and more important is the hotel amenities, this resort had ONE small pool and that's it for entertainment, not only is the pool small there is no shade or while in the pool , the hotel is run down and needs major upgrades (rooms are nice). Mold all over the place AC week, and food was just okay. If possible stay at another resort, I wish I did.

This place made my vacation awesome! I loved the rooms, didn’t have enough space to sleep and they brought us an extra bed. We’re very welcoming when we first came! Definitely will come back ☺️

Food was great. You get authentic Mexican food every night. Plus two other restaurants. Pool is big. Beach is beautiful . The waiters are exceptionally awsome. Great service. My room was not all that, but they are fixing the place up room by room. Construction was going on when I was there.
