I went to Villa Del Palmar in Cancun with my partner to celebrate my birthday. The resort is beautiful and the service was decent overall. Me and my partner had a wonderful time. However, my lower rating is due to the fact that their concierge and front desk were not upfront about all the fees. We got all inclusive and we were told by our personal concierge, Sol Soto, that all our fees were included in the all inclusive package. She mentioned it even included all taxes. Everything was great until we checked out. We were charged additional fees we knew nothing about. They did not inform us that there were additional resort fees which were charged daily. AND we were charged gratuity fees on our meals. We tipped all of our servers, but we were not told gratuity was charged automatically charged to our room. In addition to that, we got a private driver to take us to the airport. The driver left us at the resort before the 10 minute grace period and the resort did not call our room to notify us. And management refused to refund our money for the shuttle. I really like this place, but their lack of communication is shady. My advice to management is to make sure all customers are notified up front about any additional charges. That's not the way to treat your guests. Lastly, there were a few things things that could've been better. 1. The check in process took 45 minutes partly due to language barriers, and the front desk not being organized. 2. Our dryer did not work properly in our room at all. It didn't dry the our clothes at all even after running it for 7+ hours. We came back to the U.S. with wet clothes. 3. The resort lost power multiple times during the stay. It would go off for about a minute and come back on. 4. They were doing construction and we woke up to the sounds of loud noises. Definitely not as relaxing as we hoped. Overall, I would come back because it's a beautiful resort and I genuinely enjoyed myself there. But I'd be weary of management adding additional fees to the bill without my knowledge or consent.

I bought this as a deal on Travelzoo but honestly wished I spent more to go to a better resort. This did not seem like a 5 star resort. Check in was very chaotic and loud. We were then sent with someone who immediately tried to get us to attend a timeshare presentation. The elevators often didn’t work, there was only one option for breakfast, and the bars didn’t open until 10 which meant we weren’t even able to get water until that time. There was SO MUCH seaweed when we went in June that we didn’t get to see crystal clear water and didn’t even get in the ocean. The do try to maintain the seaweed but there’s just too much. Food was pretty good but they made you sign a check with every “purchase” although it was all inclusive. The positive: staff were all very friendly and the guys at the beach bar were awesome!

I bought this as all inclusive from Costco travelling for 5 days in the resort, but honestly wished to have a welcome and service better. We got there at lunch time and our room isn’t ready. After check in the told us to go for lunch, but when we went for the the first restaurant the waiter service said it full, so we have a young kids who is very hungry they told us to go Mexican restaurant after we got there they said it full also it will be 2 hour and half wait than they also told us to go Italian restaurant and also full. We keep walking by our self looking for one restaurant to other, no one help or ask us. We paid more did not seem like a 5 star resort. The elevators often didn’t work, there was only one option for breakfast, and the bars didn’t open until 10 which meant we weren’t even able to get water until that time. There was SO MUCH seaweed and rock under the sea that we didn’t get to see crystal clear water and didn’t even get play in the ocean, because of the rock. The do try to maintain the seaweed but there’s just too much. Food was pretty good but they made you sign a check with every “purchase” although it was all inclusive. Lack of activities and mostly only stay at the pool. Oh I forgot to mention I took a resort taxi for one hour I have to pay 105$ us Recommend better don’t waste your money to this resort. I just came back one day ago.

Always an amazing experience. So relaxing and easy. Rooms are still beautiful and well maintained. The property is also well maintained. Service at the restaurants was definitely lacking this time. It seemed like the servers and cooks didn't care that much. They brought the wrong dishes frequently, were very slow, rarely checked back and charged the wrong room frequently. Bar service was exceptionally poor. Pool service was excellent, but very very slow, and our poor server was very over worked.

We had a 2 bed room beach view on the north side of the hotel from level 5. Food was good picture are from the center Mexican restaurant. We did have to ask for a room change. Levels 1 and L had a view of the restaurant wall not the beach. Maid service was great they even did turn down service. The beach did have a lot of red sea weed but the sand and pool was great. We had a bad experience at the gas station across the street, and cab prices were high so if you want to get to town plan according. The main high way was also under construction so plan extra time to get to the air port. We are owners at the resort too. Hopefully this helps you.

It’s our first time here and we enjoyed every moment of it. The staff and the service is great, very friendly and professional. We feel as if we were part of the family . We will miss coming here but we will be back for another vacation and this time with more family members . The rooms are very spacious has a balcony a hammock , a table to have coffee . Everything you could ask for, it’s there . And every time we ask for help , they help us right away and that’s how it should be . Please please please keep up the good work everyone and thank you ! For having us ! God Bless you all!

The staff & grounds are fantastic. We received excellent service. Most of the restaurants were very good. They were very helpful with setting up Covid testing for the return back to the US. It helps if you speak Spanish - I'm not fluent by any means & in some instances it would have helped.

Good hotel, we had a nice time but there were a few pretty big dealbreakers for us. Phone started ringing 8 AM the morning after we arrived with the hotel concierge trying to sell us a 'VIP package', and BD experience calling to try and sell us travel and adventure packages. After 4 calls before 12 pm on day 1 of my honeymoon, we disconnected the telephones from the wall for the remainder of the trip. Best part of the calls was they asked if my husband was around, I said no and proceeded to decline their services, and they called back later asking for my husband, because my 'no' was apparently not sufficient. Construction was going on in the room above us on the floor above starting at 8-9 every AM and went all day. Like consistent banging, hammering, sanding, all very loud. I woke up to what sounded like a jackhammer above our room multiple days in a row. We were really looking forward to relaxing/ catching up on sleep/ enjoying a lazy honeymoon and that did not happen. The room was nice and was quite literally like paradise, but it was a paradise 12 feet away from a 7 day a week 8 hour a day construction project. The service was wonderful and all of the people amazing, but this is not a spot we will ever be returning to.

We've been here a number of times and the resort as a whole is nice clean and we enjoy staying here. My only compliant with our last trip is our concierge was absolute failure. For the amount of money we pay the lack of help was frustrating and it should not have been a bad stay. It's beyond annoying to have to order room service just to be able to eat because you can't get a reservation anywhere and you can't just walk up and get food. We called for months trying to extend for a couple days due to flight availability and nobody would help nobody would support and they were obviously rooms available while we were there but nobody would help us. I feel like the atmosphere's changed from the last time we went there from a very helpful and supporting line set to now everybody wants you to do a good job just to tip them but they don't actually follow through with taking care of you. It's like their staff is now in a mindset of help you to get you to shut up versus helping you because the right thing to do and making sure you're actually happy not just not complaining anymore. Whether we come back is yet to be determined.

Great resort, wonderful rooms, ours had 2 separate rooms and 2 bathrooms with a huge balcony with tables and a hammock. Roo. Service tool about 30min to deliver. The pool is very big and nice, and very well maintained. Poolside service is awesome and staff came often to ask if we needed something. Restaurants are very decent( we didn't like the Italian food but it might just be us). Alcohol selection is excellent. The only complaint we have is that the pool in some spots has tiles right next to the edge if the pool. Those tiles become very slippery when wet and our daughter slipped and hit her head and left eye area and had a bruise for the whole vacation. Other than that it's a wonderful resort.

The place is beautiful. Well decorated. The service is super great. The only problem was having the buffet closed for dinner on Thursday and Friday. It leaves everyone scrambling for reservations in the other restaurants. Impossible to book a table at any of them even 24 hours before. Fortunately room service is 24 hrs. But the wait is up to 2 hrs. 😠

Just returned from our second consecutive vacation to Villa del Palmar. We truly enjoy the resort so I’ll start with the good. Service from the staff is great, always willing to help and attentive. David (server), Benjamin (morning pool host), Oscar and Carlos are top notch. Food is great however in-law ate at Legends and we’re not impressed whatsoever. It doesn’t fit the resort style, I’d avoid if possible. Breakfast is always good with lots of options. Resort is great with kids due to the layout and short walking distances. Now the not so good. First, Two separate families in two different rooms got colds/breathing issues from age 2 to 65 the second day. On the third night I called the manager and asked if he could change the air filters as there was some build up on the grates. He sent someone right away and all three in our room were BLACK. They bleached the grates and changed filters. The next morning I opened the shade in the shower and there was mold everywhere on the sill. There was also mold in grout throughout the shower. Again, manager sent someone to bleach the shower. Second, the beach area this year felt sub par. There was garbage in the sand seating area - plastic bottle caps, glass, wrappers, etc. There was also a lot of trees debris that they never cleaned each day. Being on the surface, this could easily be cleaned up rake job. Third, the pool heater(s) is very inconsistent. First two days pool temp was perfect, after that it was cold until mid-afternoon each day. I asked about it was told there was an issue. I would think the pool maintenance would be top priority being the main attraction. Lastly, the restaurants. Food and service is good to great, but reservations are a disaster. Make sure to book well in advance of your stay. Overall, it’s a great family resort with amazing staff. Minor corrections would make it a bit better.

This is a beautiful resort but there isn't much to do. If you're looking to relax. This is the place. But if you want to really explore and have a great time off resort...look to spend a few thousand for a group. Not my top 10. But nice.

This resort was definitely a disappointment. Make sure that you book your reservation for dinner weeks in advance because if you don’t you will not get into any restaurant unless you give someone money to get you a table even when the restaurant is empty. There are no lunch buffets and only two restaurants open for lunch so your options are pizza and burgers or Zama restaurant that is very disappointing Mexican food. Even while paying for “all inclusive” there are a lot of this you will still have to pay for. Water shoes is a must for the pools if not be ready to hurt your feet and legs. There are no swim up bars and all the bars close by 8 pm outside. Also there is very very limited night time Entertainment (we have been here for a week and there were two nightly activities by 10pm there is no soul in sight). If you like snorkeling or even going swimming at the beach cross it off your list because the water is always very dirty. The rooms are spacious and beautiful but I expected more from the resort when your paying well over 3 thousand dollars.

Beautiful property and room. However, a few things have brought the rating down. For one, it's a family-friendly resort, but there is not much to do past 10 p.m. It can make it boring and found me and my bf in the room for most nights. Another problem is that when we ordered room service, it took over an hour to come, it was cold, and hair was found in my food. It also took more than two hours for room service to come to clean up the glass that was spilled on the floor. We were told to wait in the room the whole time and we were not allowed to leave. We called them multiple times to come up but were stuck in the room. The food was good and they have a variety of options, but my bf got food poisoning from one of the restaurants. Lastly, since I and my bf are younger, there were two instances where they have tried to take advantage of us. One being, transportation up front tried to increase the price of the taxi even though we took it the day prior and the guy told me the rates. The next day when we actually took it again he told me a higher price. I then said something to the taxi guy who dropped it back to the original. The next instance was booking the excursion where we were stuck in coco bongo till 3 am because one of the ladies at the front desk told us the wrong info and no one came to pick us up. We had to pay for our own taxi back and when we went back and told them this no one wanted to pay back just for the taxi. They said there was nothing they can do for us.

We were in the area the night before and a friend recommended us to eat at one of the restaurants in the hotel. We stopped on our way home and we were told that we could go ahead and have a table, but since it was so close to closing time, our of respect for the employees we decided to come back the next day. So the following day we left our hotel and made it all the way out there just to be told by the gate person that we couldn’t go in. He called someone inside and was told the same thing. If you are not staying in the hotel you can not eat at their restaurants!!! What kind of craziness is that? Is that how you promote your business? By denying entrance to what could be a future client? Let me put it this way, we were so discussed with the treatment that we even refused to use the taxis that they had at the door and just got into the local mini bus and had a blast on our way to the local taco stand that another passenger recommended. Better service, better price and who knows maybe even better tasting food…

Nice resort for family. Nice rooms and staff. We had the all inclusive pricing so everyone enjoyed the unlimited food and drinks. The only thing I was not happy about was the extra "environmental fee" that was tagged at our check out. Even though it was not much, but I think it should have been declared unless I missed it in the fine prints. In general, all good!

Excellent resort, one of the best stays I’ve ever had in Mexico. Can’t think of a single complaint. The rooms are spacious, comfortable. They bring you snacks and water every day. There’s even a washer/dryer in the room and we did laundry. Food was amazing, especially the sushi restaurant. Beach area was clean. We did the private dinner on the beach and the food was amazing. Also did the spa and it was so worth it. We loved our vacation here.

I must say, this resort got everything right: the nicely fresh spacious room, well equipped amenities, bedroom is super comfy, linen is soft and fresh. Daily changes in the room. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Great selections of fine dining restaurants. Foods are delicious here. The only thing I wish they have is a heated pool and no truck going back and forth to clean the seaweed; while guests are trying to enjoy the scenery at the beach( not to smell the fumes from the truck). I highly recommended this place

Overall this is a great place to spend your vacation. My family had all inclusive package and it went really well. Food, rooms, service, just everything was good. Even presentation that we finally didn’t signed wasn’t that terrible. For people who likes cocktails or drink whatever this place will be a paradise. The only thing I didn’t like much is enclosed location. I go running everyday or at least long walks but here it is difficult to do. Even the cost line has limited borders. But again, most of the people come to lay on the beach and sip cocktails and no-one worries about location.

This was a wonderful resort! Very clean and well maintained! The many pools, hot tubs and beach side chairs and loungers were great! The food was Amazing at Caprios... Such great service and a variety of food. I just wished they were open every night for dinner. The other 3 restaurants on site were hit and miss. The surprising thing about Mexico was the prices were higher on most everything, than back in the USA.

I had the all inclusive package and the times I gave an extra tip to the staff in pesos and filled out the receipt in pesos...the final bill gave them dollars instead. Plus I was told I would get a free spa for both my husband and me and the front desk charged me for the spa. I tried to tell them that was wrong and the front desk told me that I was wrong. Also there was a charge on my final bill that was blank. I tried to ask the front desk lady but she couldn't tell me what it was. Not very happy with the front office staff and with the way they choose to make my peso tip be in dollars. If my bill was in pesos and I left a tip...why would it be in dollars especially when I circled the peso amount.

This beautiful resort passed all expectations for my family and I! Alan at the beach bar and Adrian in the lobby bar we’re outstanding and had a passion for their jobs! They truly know how to make you feel like your friends not just a customer! They also know how to make outstanding cocktails! Truly some of the best I’ve ever had! Also huge shoutout to Nadia for setting up my engagement and making the absolute best memory of my life! I am so thankful! The housekeepers were phenomenal! All around it was the absolute best experience due to the resort alone!

Do NOT stay at this hotel. The shower, toilet and sink water smell like a sewer. They are aware it does but play it off like its fixed. Trust me your clothes, skin and hair will smell like a sewer. They only have 4 restaurants to serve you, so when you try to book a reservation to eat, it says you can't book for 7 days as they are full. Do not waste your money. Find another place as there are many hotels in Cancun you can choose from. Run run run from this one!

A legitimately glowing jewel on the coast. Absolutely beautiful place. The majority of the staff are very personable, though finding an English speaker is pretty hit and miss - though most would convince you they understand. Its a reminder that I should've been more attentive in school. Anyway, super comfortable beds - bit soft, but firm below. The provided toiletries were all exquisite, to the point that my wife wants them at home. It was very clean too. The minor issues we encountered were addressed quickly and properly - freezer not cold was the biggest of issues fixed within a few hours.

Although the grounds of the resort are beautiful, the rooms have a lot of updating needed. Upon checking into my room, I immediately noticed several cleanliness issues. The carpet was dirty, the kitchen had crumbs on the counter and stove, and worst of all, there were baby cockroaches crawling all over the sink. I immediately requested a new room, as the presence of cockroaches made the room uninhabitable. After persistently requesting a new room for nearly 30 minutes, I was finally granted one. However, to my dismay, the new room was also dirty, with potato chips on the carpet and hair all over the bathroom floor. Frustrated and unsatisfied, I approached the front desk to express my concerns and inform them that I would like to check out. However, I was informed that even though I was not staying overnight, I would still be charged. Given the overall poor conditions of the rooms, the lack of cleanliness, and the failure to honor the credit I had, I made the difficult decision to book my stay at another hotel. Unfortunately, this meant losing out on the money I had paid for the room in advance.

My tennis shoes were stolen at the tiki bar by the beach, you’d think you wouldn’t have to worry about that at a five star hotel but they were gone in less than five minutes, so do keep that in mind. The place was beautiful and the service was amazing! We had a very good time there, there’s plenty to do and several different places where you can eat. There were also ants in our restroom🥴

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon as part of a marketing package we did a while back. We had an all inclusive package with a garden view one bedroom suite. I just so happened to have sprained my ankle prior to arriving and their staff was wonderful. A worker brought me an ice pack and was able to get me a wheel chair right away. Our room was great with a nice view but could use some more updates (but overall very nice.) The food and drinks in all of the restaurants was delicious. The service was HANDS DOWN the best part of staying here. From the front desk to the bartenders, they were all so friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and well kept. My only con (and it is barely a con) was how far it was from downtown/the airport but we had scheduled complimentary transportation from our marketing package. *if you are there as part of Tafer's marketing package* please brave yourself...they say you have to do a 90 min presentation in order to retain your reservation and all inclusive package but our meeting ended up being almost 3.5 hours long. We had a nice gentleman who was relatable but once we said we weren't interested due to personal reasons, the whole vibe changed. It was honestly a turn off and I am glad we did not sign up for their "membership." We do not like being pressured especially after we already said our peace. And at that point, we were annoyed we had already been there for double the time we should have been.

I’ve stayed here many times but it’s not the same from how it used to be anymore. I will say the resort is well maintained in terms of cleanliness. The cleaning crew for rooms, pool, landscaper is doing an excellent job. I’ve decided not to come back because of the difficulty in making dinner reservations, poor quality of food, and the fact that they took away Hiroshi to their sister hotel. Food is not absolutely terrible, but it is definitely not good at all. Breakfast time is usually a favorite, but I was never looking forward to the morning buffet because of how unappetizing it is. I’m sure more quality food lies within the more upscale restaurants, but what is the point of giving guests QR codes to reserve when the next availability is a week away? What about people who only stay for 3-4 nights? Only the casual restaurants is somewhat available, which we’ve tried and did not like at all. One hostess at Davino told me she can seat our party of 3 in IF we buy a bottle, even after she tells us it’s fully booked the next days. I understand it’s busy, but to say something like that is petty. Pool staff “can do” attitude is a hit and miss. I asked 2 members standing doing nothing if it was possible to blow air in a floaty, he immediately tells me the machine is not working & to try next day. Another staff then sees me struggling to blow it myself, and goes to inflate it…so the machine was in fact working. I will say, I noticed all restaurant hostesses attitudes are unfriendly, while the waiters are much better. One lady in concierge that was really dull and unhelpful in helping make dinner reservations, quickly handed me some codes—which I knew I had no hope. We are so disappointed we didn’t get to enjoy a decent dining experience here. While it’s not just us, as there were many others with the same problem, it’s not a vacation if guests are struggling where they can eat. Lastly, the early morning phone calls to lure you to concierge so they can sell you whatever is NOT PLEASANT. I really want to remember this resort of how it used to be, good food, great staff, my favorite Hiroshi restaurant, but not sure if I’ll ever give it another chance. I’ll miss Villa del Palmar.

Great location to stay at if your goal isn’t to leave the resort. Servers are attentive and will learn your order, their restaurants get busy so they may forget to bring over a small plate for bread, food is good, and most importantly, this is not an “adult only” resort. If you don’t mind families, you will have a relaxing time on the beach or at the pool. On beach: beautiful view but location is inches away from the ferry. If you are concerned about purity of water pick another hotel/resort. Convenient for walking over and taking boat ride to Isla Mujeres.

Overall, this hotel is a nice place to stay. It is not a 5 star resort or luxury resort as advertised, which is somewhat disappointing for the price. We made dinner reservations weeks before traveling to make sure we had them. There is a good variety of options to choose from. The hotel lacked activities, but the ones offered were fun, and the staff was engaging. The chair situation at the pool is a joke. It appears to be more of a side hustle job for the workers. Unfortunately, the guests are not helping the shortage of chairs by "reserving" more chairs than people or reserving a chair for a kid that sits on it for 5 mins. At 7AM, two days in a row, I got the last 1 or 2 chairs and didn't see most "reserved" seats occupied until after 9. If you go, be thoughtful and don't take more chairs than you need. We all paid to be there. The room was comfortable and clean, not a 5-star resort, though. Advertised is that the rooms have hammocks. On day 4 of asking for one I was told it is only for 1 bedroom+ I showed the front desk how it was advertised and he had nothing to add. Mini bar in the room had 4 drinks and 2 candy bars and chips in it. We had to call for more each day and mid stay it took 4 calls over 2 days for it to be refreshed with 2 candy bars and some drinks. Checking out I didn't have surprises on my bill, though I fully expected to because of all the signing of bills for food and drinks. I also didn't trust the hotel after it didn't meet what it was advertising. I did, however, expect a thank you for staying with us or hope you enjoyed your stay. That wasn't the case which confirmed any doubt that this is not a luxury resort. This is not a bad place, it is just similar to most resorts in Mexico but costs more.

Every morning I was up by 6am due to noise from upstairs. We complained but nothing was done. I would not stay in 2nd fl or lower the sewerage smell is so strong your clothes will smell. It was over 3000$ trip for 3 nights in total. Food was great and service was good

Overall positive but there were some instances that dampened our delight, we were a group of 8 travelling together with 5 rooms between us. First the positives -- Food was great, we loved the live stations at breakfast. Davino bar was the best if you wanted well made drinks. Other staples like Mimosas, Palomas and Mojitos were good if you asked for less sweet. The food was good at Zama, Snack and Bite bar near the pool and Davino. I liked loaded Nachos at Legends. The rooms were very spacious and very clean. They had an espresso machine in the room which was nice. Negatives -- Oversweet drinks with diluted alcohol. The custom drinks (cocktails) on the menus were very sugary and didn't taste that good. Didn't like the mixed drinks at Zama or the Lobby bar. It was super hot even in the breakfast area at 9 in the morning. 1. The constant push for tips from the associates/staff, this was happening at every instance so in 5 days of all inclusive it was 25+ times that we had to sign the bill to the room and were nudged to tip. Budget and plan for tips if you want good service otherwise the staff will not be nice the next day. 2. Zama did not give us a table for 8 because 2 of our members were running late, they absolutely refused to have the 2 members join us on the table later. This was hypocritical since they made us wait for 20 minutes the other 2 times when we had a reservation but this time they refused to seat us until we had the complete party present. We told them that 2 members were 15 minutes late and they said they couldn't hold our reservation for more than 5 minutes and we had to leave and go to the dinner buffet. This wasn't even very late or near the closing time, this was at 6:30 PM, we returned from a long day trip and had arrived later than expected. 3. We were asked to remain in the area in front of our lounge chairs because the other family complained that we were encroaching in their pool space that was in a shaded area. This family had occupied all the good lounge chairs since early in the morning on both days and we weren't left with any area in a preferred spot. 4. The tiki bar staff was friendlier and attentive to the white folks, we had to request our drinks 3 times while we saw new people come in order for their drinks and get them quickly, even before ours were acknowledged. 5. There was some repairs/construction happening right above the 2 rooms in our group which created noise and water shut off and the hotel did not inform us in advance. They do not provide toothpaste/ razors and will ask you to buy from the Palmita market (overpriced). There are 2 pharmacies outside on the gas station which might be less expensive for sunscreens/toothpaste/ OTC medicines and other personal essentials. Carry Pesos if you are planning to take any day trips by yourself (Chichen Itza, Cenotes, etc), the toll booths will not take USD or other currencies, some gas stations will also only operate in Pesos.

We just got back from our trip with Villa del Palmar and we had an amazing time. The customer service was top tier (attentive, quick, and fast). The staff was amazing overall. We loved that we got to see the same faces in every part of the hotel on a daily basis. The food was above average at every location on the resorts. The bars were awesome, but a little low on staff which was a little odd. We ran into a few issues, but nothing major. We would suggest not sitting in the swing chairs by the tiki bar when wet, we had a fall and it caused a big scene. Additionally, we felt like we were being watched just a little much. This place could benefit from a better nightlife scene since it’s so far off the hotel zone. Otherwise it is clean, beautiful, and a great time.

This place did not disappoint! The rooms were spacious and very nicely furnished. The restaurants were great but getting a reservation could be difficult. The service staff is beyond friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and the pools were fun and the perfect temperature. We had a few minor issues our room wasn’t restocked stocked daily with the drinks, we had to ask a couple of times for water. But once we asked they were quick about it. The last full day we were there my husband stay in the room due to a sunburn so we declined room service. I called and asked for coffee packets and water for the morning and I was told they would bring it up in the morning and we never saw it. The resort itself is beautiful but the drive to the resort goes through some pretty sketchy areas. I was a bit concerned going there but once at the resort I felt relieved and I never felt unsafe. I would definitely recommend staying here and one day I hope to be able to go back.

Had a wonderful time at Villa del Palmar. Food was AMAZING! Drinks were great, including a huge wine and alcohol selection, as well as an impressive non-alcoholic drink selection! Definitely get the All Inclusive Package, it's more than worth it! The location is great, as it's away from most of the other hotels, and only a sister hotel is near it, and the beach is amazing. But if you want to be closer to the walkable areas, like in Hotel Zone, then you may not like that part. But if the hustle and bustle of the Hotel Zone is not your cup of tea, then you'll love this location, like I did! The transportation service and process was perfect, they even mention to newbie's to walk pass those terrible timeshare people in the airport! The rooms are amazing, and comfortable, definitely well worth the price! The only minor complaints that I had were the mentions of dinner reservations needed at the majority of restaurants, but I found that most did not restrict you from seating without a reservation, it just may take a you a bit longer to get seated. I think one place took about 10 minutes to seat me, when I didn't have a reservation (I did go during weekdays though, so your mileage may vary if you go during the weekend). I am also huge on all-day breakfast, since I'm not a morning person, but I love breakfast food, but this resort is very strict about only offering breakfast food during morning hours. There are no breakfast-type food offerings after 11:30AM! The only other issue I had, which I noticed in some other reviews, is that the shower in my master bath, overflowed on the first day leaving water everywhere in the bathroom and bedroom... but the maintenance staff thoroughly cleaned it up and fixed the drain immediately! I never had an issue after that, during my 4 day stay! Check-in was a bit slow, but fairly thorough. The only thing they should have mentioned is that there is no Express Checkout, and that Checkout at the Front Desk is mandatory, so make sure you allow time for that, when you're trying to leave. It took me approximately 10 to 15 minutes to get checked out. Again, this is where the transportation service shined, as they patiently waited for me to finish that process. If you have a resort credit, make sure you use it INSIDE the resort, for premium food or premium liquor, as you can't use it at their Marketplace or Starbucks. There's not a lot of premium food or premium liquor options, which is great since that means over 90% of items are included in the All-Inclusive package, but there are enough to make use of the credits when you have them! All in all, I would give this place a 4.5 Star rating, and highly recommend staying here!

Pros - Good food and service, rooms are a little dated, but clean and good size. Cons - All inclusive that makes you sign for everything, slows the process. No buffet for lunch, all food was be ordered and takes at least 45 minutes. After 5:30 p.m., there is only 1 outdoor bar open that sits 12 people. After 5:30 p.m. there is no music by the pool. I was here from Dec 26 - Jan 1 and there was short evening entertainment, every other day. One night had a good magic show from 9 - 9:30 p.m. and nothing else. When staying at an all inclusive, most plan to spend a lot of time at the resort. It was disappointing that a peak week did not offer more. I can't imaging what it is like on non-peak weeks. The jets in several of the hot tubs did not work. Do not do the tour for the sister resort Blanca Garza unless you intend to give up an entire morning. We asked directly and was told it was 90 minutes and not high pressure. It was nearly 4 hours and high pressure. Even after declining, you are turned over to another person to sell a smaller package.

Just got back from 5 nights and all expectations were met and exceeded. The room was fantastic, the food delicious, the pool warmed to the perfect temperature, but by far the most important factor was the warmth and hospitality of all staff at the resort. Everyone at the resort showed a genuine interest in our comfort and truly made us feel at home. A huge thanks from our family to all the people that made our trip special and unforgettable.

We enjoyed our stay overall, but Carlos (bartender) really stood out. He took really great care of us during our stay, so much so that we often went out of our way to visit him and Miguel. We were addressed by name, and our cocktails of choice were remembered and made with promptness as we approached the bar. Having work experience as resort bartenders ourselves, we were very impressed to see such care and pride, accompanied with genuine, 5-star service. Thank you for adding to our experience!

HIGHLY recommend! No words can describe how the staff upkeep the grounds, unbelievable service to all customers from the housekeepers, groundsmen, waitstaff, and bartenders. No service compares to any stay in the US!! I want to also put in a great word for one of the staff members Tony Maldonado Gerardo "bar tender". He really made our stay very special, with his skills and had us entertained and laughing all night long. Thank you again and see you next year!

Food was great and the pools were super nice. Plenty of staff around to help with anything you need. The beach was always full of the sea weed, but that is a much larger issue than this one resort. Awesome place to stay and enjoy the all inclusive resort

Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Service was the best I have ever had this side of the globe. Beautiful property with excellent dining options. Every meal was presented in a way to treat you like royalty. We are thoroughly impressed and can't wait to visit again.

This resort is beyond 5-star. Outstanding service, food, accommodations and more. I just returned from my second trip to Villa Del Palmar, Cancun. The staff are genuinely kind and friendly, the food at the restaurants is top notch in both presentation and quality, and the accommodations are superb. The all-inclusive is a bit pricey, but worth it because the service and quality of the food is fantastic. I love this place and will definitely be back again.

This was an amazing hotel. They had several very good restaurants and amazing staff. The food was high class for an all inclusive. The location was a little far from the hotel zone and not alot of shops around the hotel. The price of things in the gift shop was very high but I guess that's normal for hotels. They cleaned the room each day and did a fabulous job. The lawns and pools were clean. for an all inclusive it was a little bit weird because you got a check each time and I was a bit weird because I thought I was going to get like a 3k room service bill. Also the kids were annoying but I guess that is a preference. Another weird thing, no swim up bar and all the bars closed at like 11pm so late night drinking is not really possible. The alcohol was good quality.
