I just wanted to give the next unsuspecting person who may book a heads up. It is common for the place directly next to the hotel to play soul crushing music until 3-5am. They went until 3am last night and the bass was so incredibly loud that it vibrated my entire body. It felt like being water boarded, but by sound. Even if I were possible (it wasn’t) to drown out the sound with my headphones, I’m being physically assaulted by Celine Dion and Don Omar. And when the music isn’t going, the DJ is yelling. You’re on a mic, dude. EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOU ALREADY. 😑 This kind of experience can ruin any pleasant feelings you have about where you are staying, so just be aware that it’s a possibility. I looked up reviews, since it’s not like I was able to sleep through this anyway, and this is not an isolated incident. Beautiful room. Lovely staff. Killer location. But not worth losing an entire nights sleep over. There’s not even black out curtains to allow sleeping in. 🫤

Great hotel in an unbeatable location right in the middle of white sand, crystal clear Playa Norte. Note if you arrive early they are pretty strict with check in time 3pm. Thankfully they accommodated us after a red eye 6 am arrival on a nightmare plane ride from LA with screeching toddler. By 12 they had upgraded us to the top floor. If you get here early tho they'll give you full access to pool restaurant and on site bathroom. Room had a nice view of the ocean..spacious clean great staff plus mini fridge and microwave and coffee maker. Big shower as well Food and drinks at the cafe were good, try the chilaquiles and some 7 year cuban rum. Pool was usually empty so that was nice too. Overall great stay and really nice room. Great restaurants all within walking distance too.

Alejandra was amazing in the bar area, very attentive and extremely kind! A very kind and warm smile to be greeted by in the mornings! Emilio was also a wonderful server while we were enjoying the beach! When we needed our umbrella moved, ordered a drink, or food he was quick and efficient as well as kind! Aaron at the front desk also had a kind smile and was always welcoming! The views are amazing, just make sure you get a room with a balcony! A/C is wonderful as well! Conveniently located if you enjoy nightlife.

The Ixchel was a great hotel to stay at in Isla Mujeres. The staff were very attentive and courteous. The rooms and suites were very nice. We were lucky to get upgraded to a downstairs suite with a patio just across from the pool and a few feet from the beach access. The restaurant was good for quick lunches and drinks. The food was good and the menu caters to mostly tourists. The rooms were spacious with the basic room amenities. I definitely recommend the suites with kitchenettes if traveling with a family of small kids. The beach was a great with chairs and umbrellas available for guests along with beach service. Highly recommend!

First of all, I must say that the hotel is not a bad hotel, but a cheek for the price. For 150$ I would have given 4 stars, but for 320$ a night for the cheapest room there are only two stars. - the hotel is very old and has not been renovated for a very long time - the rooms have nearly no decoration or anything beautiful - the beach would actually be nice, if you would not lie stacked up - the beach is not even private, but other providers also rent sunbeds everywhere there, so it is even more crowded - the beach towels are full of stains and holes Very positive are the clean rooms and the very courteous, friendly service.

Fantastic location, excellent beach, nice swimming pools. And it's also next to a few restaurants nearby that serve everything from breakfast to dinner. The one thing to improve is the restaurant. It's good for a snack during the day, but even breakfast wasn't really exciting. There is however a lively scene in the pedestrian area just 2min walking distance from the hotel. We went there for all our breakfasts and dinners.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ixchel Hotel in Isla Mujeres, Cancun Mexico and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, every member of staff provided exceptional customer service and made sure that our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The hotel is located right on the beach, so you can enjoy a wonderful view of the ocean as well as various activities such as snorkeling and swimming. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you could wish for. We had an amazing vacation at Ixchel Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable beachside experience in

Loved staying at this hotel. It was centrally located, next to Playa Norte and the center. The pool was really good and the access to the beach superb. The hotel had a small shack where the juices and smoothies were excellent. The staff, the location and everything was great. The rooms were also of a good size.

Late on this review but we visited in June 2022 for our first summer vacation since Covid. 2 adults and our 9 yr old. It was our 3rd visit to Ixchel Beach Hotel. There’s a reason we keep coming back to the same hotel, every single employee from Front Desk to Concierge to Room Service to Pool Staff/bar made us feel valued and special. We had originally booked our trip for May but because of a tropical storm we decide to reschedule our trip and the staff was understanding, accommodating and changed the dates for our trip with no problem. Arriving from the ferry the walk is easy directly to the hotel. The convenience of a short walk directly to Hidalgo street or anywhere we need to go is a plus. We stayed in the One Bedroom Suite Ocean View and the view was fantastic. We can’t wait to return!!

We were so sad when our vacation was over. This was by far one of the best vacations we have had and it was mainly due to the staff. Everyone was beyond nice and accommodating. The location of the hotel could not be better, direct beach access with nice pools. Even though the room wasn't the most up to date it had so much space and every amenity you would need, I would call it very practical and cute- nothing fancy. I would stay here over and over again and can not wait to return.

Yet another relaxing vacation on the beach here at Ixchell Resort. We have been coming for years & never disappointed. We love to rent a golf cart and sample local restaurants and stores on the island. The staff was excellent as always. The Property continues to be well groomed and exhibit pride.

I would come back in a heartbeat! We got a standard room as we were only staying for 2 days. My sister in law got an upgraded room and next time I come I will be getting the same one! From standard to upgraded they were both clean, comfy, homey. The customer service was 10/10. I can't wait to come back. Thank you Ixchel!

We stayed here in November 2021. Beautiful resort hotel/ resort. They upgraded us to a 4 th floor beachfront with a balcony . The views were amazing. Great customer service from the front desk to management to the workers to the beach service. Clean and beautiful and the best spot with beach bars all around within walking distance . Plenty of chairs and the beach is spectacular. This place is phenomenal and can’t say enough about it. We loved it and would recommend staying here. We plan on booking again this November. Love this place.

Pros: Great location because it was right by the strip with many shops and restaurants nearby. The available beach service was great. We could use the hotels chairs, umbrella and towels. There were a couple of restaurants on the beach. They had two pools on the ground. The covid testing came right to our door. Shower was awesome, like a rainfall. Super big shower. Cons: I would have liked a hot tub and extended pool hours. The bar and pools closed at 8pm. If you don't want to bar hop, it can get a bit boring. The hotel did not allow us to book a standard room for 3 people. When we put it for 2, then we could. We ended up paying $16 more a day just because there were 3 people in the room. I found that odd and misleading.

Perfect for our needs. Staff was very nice. Location is prime. Couldn’t find a better beach on the island if your tried. It does get a little busy mid afternoon because every single tour from cancun stops near the shore because this is the best location on the island. The pool is nothing to write home about. I spent less then 5 minutes in it because the beach is literally perfect. We would stay here again without question.

Our family of five stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it was perfect. Beautiful view from our 2nd floor balcony. Helpful staff and the hotel was very clean. The location could not have been better- right on Playa Norte and at the beginning of Hidalgo St. Anything you needed was no more than a 10 minute walk. Will stay here again.

Love this place. The suites are best in class. Amazing views. Best location. Always meticulously cleaned and improving the rooms. The staff is incredible- really really good people who genuinely care about customers and work hard in every thing they do. Get a 1 or 2 bedroom suite you will not regret it. The standard rooms are ok..

I was very pleased to stay here the weekend of July 15 - 16, 2023. INCREDIBLE location - the sunset views from the beach here are out of this world. Really enjoyed sitting on the beach and just enjoying cold drinks and relaxing. Service was wonderful. Rooms are generous, feel more like condo space than a hotel room. (there was a stuck drain in my bathroom and the shower could be warmer water, but I'm reaching to find criticism.) When/If I come back to Isla, Ixchel Beach Hotel will be at the top of my list!

5 stars to Martha & Augusto. Rest of check in staff on 11/26 needs training on hospitality. We visit Isla 2/3 times a year for the last 6 years. Nothing but compliments until till this last visit. We had a slight confusion on rooms when trying to check in. We have the same special request every trip every year, has never been an issue. This year there is a new staff. The new people on shift simply walked off when I asked a question and did not respond nor return for almost 15 mins. It was a rude and unprofessional way to handle an issue. We did not recognize anyone except 3 ppl left on the staff. Thankfully Martha and Augusto recognized us from our many other visits. These two were the only ones on the check in staff willing to help us! Martha & Augusto are a treasure to this establishment! Thank you Martha for going above and beyond what is expected! We appreciate you. Moving forward we will check to see who is working on the day we check in and will adjust our reservations accordingly. Overall, ixchel is still our go to for isla. Hopefully Martha & Augusto will be permanent greeters for many years to come. P.s- if you go to the beach Chepo is by far the best to do dealing with. Great personality and awesome service.

The location is perfect. This hotel may not have the most updated rooms; however, they are clean. The staff is accommodating and friendly. The view from the hotel is stunning. The beach is kept clean and the water is so blue. You have your own chairs assigned by the property. If you want front row, you do need to get out early. Beachside drinks and food are served. Pools on property are well maintained. Fitness rooms are small. I went here 3x in 2022 and will continue to use this property when visiting Isla Mujeres. The property is also close to many restaurants.

Good value for money in busy location with its own beach area and lots of local restaurants within walking distance. Very helpful staff. They went out of their way to get some medication my husband left in the fridge by accident back to him - amazing service!

4.5 stars. I stayed a 2nd time at this hotel on 2nd girls trip here Aug 2022. 7 girls, 3 bedrooms in a penthouse. We will return. Location 5 stars. Beach chair and towel service - 5 stars. Drinks and food on beach - 5 stars- they track it to your room efficiently. There are ladies that give massages on the beach as well- not associated with the hotel. The hotel was clean & kitchen well stocked. The beach was gorgeous. Seaweed is not an issue on the beach like Cancun. There's a tiny bit in the water in a couple of spots, but nothing rolling in on the sand. The location allowed us to walk to meals and we enjoyed a live salsa band and dancing every night and walked back to our room without issues. It was very safe. We rented golf carts from the hotel (cash only) and they worked out well. The price was comparable to the ones in town- we checked at least 5 of them. Our only complaint was that the hot tub didn't work for us. They sent someone to attempt to fix it when we called about it. The buttons were worn and writing was not readable, so we couldn't figure out what buttons to push to check if they did fix it. The guy fixing it either never finished or if he did- he didn't tell us nor show us how to use it. Everything else was really great.

Amazing! Beautiful beach, excellent service and delicious food and great drinks. This property is located right on the waterfront and is an easy 10 min walk from the pier. We planned on staying one night but stayed three. My favorites include: - Vacation sized margaritas! - Great rooms (clean & contemporary) - Easy walk to other activities on the beach and island (bars, dancing, local restaurants etc) - Friendly service

Love this place. Right on the best beach in the world, friendly and attentive staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and great value. We will be back many times.

The location is very nice. The reception employee is also very kind. BUT with the price / quality it’s not fair. The restaurant for breakfast is not really great actually. The people give you the feeling you are bothering them, the food is not tasty, coffee is ok.. We believe if you pay this much to stay here in comparison to the price it should be much higher. A lot of people complain the pool is too cold. With that being said: the room we are in is really really nice, big clean and modern room with a big balcony and a nice view. But mostly the restaurant experience really is a bummer. We got a sugar that was completely melted and when I asked for another one he said: you get a new one and that’s it. Ok??? And I didn’t even tell them I didn’t like my breakfast because I feel to scared to tell them 😅 have to constantly walk to the bar to ask for a fork or a spoon etc no attention for the costumer..
