A very beautiful and well located boutique family hotel. It is located in the Cancun Hotel Zone, but still in a very quiet and peaceful area. The room was very spacious and had all necessary amenities, although the bed was not very comfortable. Two other points I would like to highlight: - parking car quite limited, so it could be an inconvenience for those who have a car. It was not very easy finding a place to leave our car; - check-in after 10 pm has an extra cost, we’re not aware of this when booking, and it’s not very common either; Still, the property is beautiful, with a swimming pool overlooking the lagoon!

Amazing family-run hotel with beautiful and clean rooms, amazing outdoor area and friendly service. The bed was super large and comfortable, and rooms included kitchen and drinking water. Even provided beach towels. Checkin and support was easy through WhatsApp. We stayed for two nights and were happy about the walkable distance to the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Recommended and will definitely come back when in Cancun. 5/5

This hotel is perfectly located, right on the beautiful lagoon and across the street from Playa Tortuga. It’s close enough to the major hubs of Cancun (15-20 min walk) but far enough away for it to be quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and everything you could want for a vacation away from the chaos! Alex and his family were so helpful throughout our stay - booked reservations, taxis, and provided all necessary info for getting tested before departure. Everything was so lovely. It’s the perfect destination for a relaxing Cancun getaway! I can’t recommend this absolutely beautiful boutique hotel enough! Thank you so much Alex and family!!! We will be back :)

This is an incredible and beautiful place to stay. The sunsets across the lagoon are something to behold! The rooms were gorgeous and being able to have a little convection stove top to cook up breakfast and late night snacks was awesome! Onto the staff...everyone there was incredible from giving reccomendations to setting up reservations Alex was our primary point of contact and was tireless in his efforts to make our stay everything we wanted. Everyone else was fantastic, caring and kind. Would totally recommend for anyone. Isle mujeres port, beach bars and bus stop just across the street!

A nice place to stay, but definitely can not be called a 5-star hotel. Pros: - amazing view, one of the best we ever had - very welcoming hosts, very helpful, always smiling - there’s a nice swimming pool outside - very nice interior, spacious rooms Cons: - if you like to take long hot showers, it would not be possible, as rooms have small water tanks, and which run out of hot water pretty quickly and you need to wait till it heat up again - there was no tea or coffee in the kitchen, which in my opinion are basic necessities nowadays - we needed to ask for a fridge separately, so they can give you everything, but you need to ask for it - in the bathroom we had only one small shampoo bottle (for one time use) and half roll of toilet paper, which was finished the next day and no extra paper was there - the cleaning is once in three days, which in my opinion is not enough - we had a car, so it was not a problem for us, but if you don’t have a car, the place is far away from any restaurants Overall we had a nice experience, but in my opinion you mainly pay for the beautiful view.

This is absolutely the finest hotel in Cancun. It’s location is perfect and the building itself is amazing. The hotel is family owned and operated down to the art and architecture. There rooms are each unique and elegant. I honestly don’t believe you could fine finer accommodations anywhere. Directly across the street is an OXXO the convenience store chain as well as a money exchange, the ferry to Isla Mujeres, the dock for catamaran snorkeling tours and a bus stop. You don’t need to rent a car wile in Cancun so please don’t. The public transit there is excellent the buses run about every 15 minutes maybe more often. And as of 11/2022 the cost is 12pesos a trip and it runs all the way into the city and all along the hotel row and I believe it’s 24 hours. The bottom line is if you’re planning a vacation in Cancun, book the Casa Tortuga Boutique Hotel for your accommodations. It’s centrally located yet off the main strip. The owners are friendly and it’s literally a family run operation. They made our stay the most enjoyable and memorable one.

Everything as advertised and expected. A solid 4.999 stars. First note this is a boutique hotel, so any guest must be ready for that type of experience. A chill atmosphere, owners greeting you by the pool, tight security, and rooms that are not cookie cutter. We loved it! We originally booked a small suite which has no ocean view and were luck that a larger/water facing room opened up. We agreed that the water choice was worth the extra money but if your plan is to simply use the hotel as a base and tour, save the money and get the city facing room. The setting is great. There is a very good restaurant 100 yards away, Across the main street is Tortugas beach with 5 beach bars, tourist shops, and a convenience store - This is the locals hang-out so you get authentic unsterilized experience. A new pharmacy opened in the building next door too. The hotel pool is clean, long enough for lap swims, not a lot of shade but very comfortable. We hit the grocery and had dinner by the pool one night (no glass :-) The hotel is experimenting with a rooftop bar. The setting is awesome and if you stay you must get a drink there at least once. This was our only issue though... The hours are inconsistent and very limited - Wish the hotel posted a simple "open tonight from ..." sign in the lobby, but it all worked out. We are already planning for our next stay.

very beautiful property! note that pool faces the lagoon, not the ocean, but it also faces west for amazing sunsets. we had a street view room but it was on a higher floor and had a nice view of palm trees still could see the lagoon from our window so we did not mind not getting a lagoon view room. our room was very spacious (although a bit sterile looking) with its own water filter and enough supplies to cook ourselves dinner (no cutting board or paper towels though). most amenities but no body lotion and you cannot bring pool towels to the beach. definitely not an all inclusive resort, but there is a bar that opens on weekdays with a beautiful sunset view. i recommend going to the super chedrauri supermarket for groceries. the bus costs 12 pesos a person and there is a stop close to casa tortugas. some of our affordable food recommendations would be ay coz express, pollo rostizado restaurant. we got food poisoning from nearby restaurant krudo, so caution if you plan to visit there. the environment was also very quiet and not busy like most of the hotel zone which we appreciated greatly.

What an amazing hotel. So familiar, personal, and there's so much care put into it. It feels like a new home, I loved my stay there! The owners are super nice and helpful, and all the staff is great as well. The place is so beautiful, and the sunset specially breathtaking. They offer free coffee from 8am to 10am, but don't have any food place inside. They do have a bar on the rooftop, and also give recommendations of restaurants close by to try. The beach is super close to the hotel, just cross the street and you will see the ocean. I would 10/10 recommend you stay there. If I ever go back to Cancun I'd love to stay in this place again.

I looked up this place via Expedia since the last condominium I booked cancelled on me a day before the travel so piece of advise do not book directly. This is place is nothing short of being excellent. My second day at the hotel and it’s so amazing that I am leaving a review before my stay is completed. I will be staying for 5 days. The rooms are super spacious and perfect for families and very safe. They do an excellent job of keep the place clean. Alex is super nice and he did me a solid favor that I am sure I cannot put it in my review since it’s off the rules. He will provide all the instructions you need when you check in The taxi stand is 40 steps away and so is the public bus stop which is really cheap. I highly recommend this place for super peaceful environment. Visiting from Bay Area CA.

This hotel is exceptionally beautiful and not a big hotel bunker like many other hotels in Cancun. It is tastefully designed and the pool is lovely. The family that runs it is very friendly and welcoming and the other staff is also very helpful. We were given very good food and activity tips which we were very grateful for. There is always someone available to help with any queries, even via Whatsapp. From there, you can take the bus to the "party area" for a cheap price. In my opinion, this hotel is especially suitable for those who prefer a quiet hotel a bit away from the crowds.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Tortugas. Compared to the large, sterile all-inclusive resorts in Cancun’s hotel zone, this small boutique hotel offered a much more authentic and Mexican experience. Family owned and operated, Alex and his parents were lovely hosts and we felt so welcome and at home. The room was incredibly large and spacious, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything that we needed (not one of those ‘kitchenettes’ that has nothing!). We also loved that we had our own purified water dispenser in the room, and there were no small single-use plastic bottles. We were lucky to have an incredible view over the pool and lagoon area from our room, with large glass doors that completely retracted, creating an indoor/outdoor feeling in our room. The pool is of course the hero of the property and it is as good as the photos! We had pretty miserable weather during our visit, but we still loved swimming in the pool and admiring the beautiful view. You can’t miss their rooftop area, which opens around 5pm most nights for sunset. They have a fully stocked bar selling cocktails and other drinks, and it was the perfect way to end the day. Oh and I can’t forget all the stunning tiles and design features around the property - this was my favourite part and no matter where in the house you were, there was a beautiful detail to enjoy! Thankyou to Alex and his family for an amazing stay - we couldn’t recommend Casa Tortugas more highly!

We loved our stay in this hotel. The staff is amazing, the roof top has a stunning view plus not to mention their delicious drinks. The location is convenient as well a few minutes away from everything you can even take the bus right outside the hotel. My favorite part is that it is family operated and it tells a beautiful art story from the sculpture to the architecture. You will not regret it.

This place is absolute paradise. If you are someone looking to get away from the touristic and 'all inclusive' seen, then this is the place for you. It's such a hidden gem, and on a quiet lagoon. I wish I found out about this place before. I definitely will be back. Christina and Alex were so accommodating and friendly, it was like being welcomed into their home. My sister and I loved it, we took so many beautiful videos and photos here. Also, the rooms are super spacious and the beds are so comfortable! Thank you so so much Christina and Alex, we will be back!

Oasis of tranquillity in the bustling tourist city Cancun. Very authentic hotel. The room was very spaceous and included a large and fully equiped kitchen and 20L of mineral water. There is also a beautiful, well-kept garden with a pool and an amazing view of the lagoon. The hotel is family-owned and this gave a very personal feel to our experience. The owners are extremely helpful and make you feel at home from the very beginning. This hotel is indeed a hidden gem. The furniture is not too modern and the shower does not have thermostatic mixer, but the bed was superb and everything was very clean. The beach and ferry service to Isla Mujeres are right across the street and the bus stop is a 1-minute walk. Parking is free on the premises of the hotel. If you plan on going to Cancun and prefer to skip the all inclusive resorts, definitely consider staying at Casa Tortugas.

Gotten a chance to stay at this hotel during our recent visit! Its an absolute steal! Very much secluded from hush and bush of the hotel area and you feel very private and home, rooms were neat, pool was clean and a beautiful architecturally locally designed hotel! If you are sucker of details and art this is your place. Hotel is facing the lagoon, coffee is provided in the morning. And literally 50 steps to the bus-top

We have found a quiet gem in the hotel zone! So much so we kind of didn't want to share how much we LOVED Casa Tortugas Boutique Suites! From the incredible staff, to the clean, wonderfully updated suites (ours was a nicely sized 2 bed/2 bath), to the beautiful, calming lagoon views, Casa Tortugas has it all! As a smaller, well-hidden property, Casa Tortugas with its beautiful exterior and interior, won our hearts. Especially unique was that every single person who worked there was welcoming, friendly, and ALWAYS helpful (with a special Muchas Gracias to Daniel and Alex!). The unexpected circumstances that brought us to Casa Tortugas only made our stay that much more enchanting. We had reservations with a different property that was already paid for and the property manager with that other property abruptly cancelled our reservation on the day of our arrival. We were blessed, lucky, or both that Casa Tortugas had one suite left. And it happened to be the perfect size for me, my husband, and our son. We checked in late, but Daniel was so kind, patient, and understanding. Knowing we had had a pretty stressful travel day, he got us all checked in, lugged our heavy luggage up to our beautiful suite, and later that night even had pizza delivered for us. We paid for it of course, but he could tell how tired we were that day and took that extra bit of burden off our shoulders so we could begin what turned out to be an incredibly relaxing vacation.

I stayed three nights and my room wasn't cleaned once. It was fortunate I'm generally a tidy person. I made my own bed. No warm water in the shower. I found out I was paying the same amount and more than some other guests with superior rooms. Alex the host come across very insincere with me. Gave off a used car salesman vibe. First night he recommended me the most expensive cocktail and to be honest it left alot to be desired. Didn't taste great and aesthetically appalling. In a metal mug with ice cubes was all it was. In the end I felt maybe it had something to do with who I was. I mentioned to him that the first night I met some other Indians from the USA, and his response was a bit of giveaway. "Oh those guys!" With a look of disdain. I asked him what it was about them and he didn't or couldn't actually give a good enough response. The smirk he gave instead really grated on me. As I was leaving I said to him I would be back in Cancun after visiting some other islands. He gave me a price that was $20 US more than what I'd got it on booking. $160 instead of $140 per night. I had no intention of staying there again, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't my paranoia about feeling welcome there.

Casa Tortugas is an amazing stay with suites of pure and clean design. The service is excellent and especially the family host is very hospitable. Watching the sunset from the pool area or the rooftop bar is phenomenal. Highly recommended!

Truly a home away from home. Here's what you need to know: Beautiful architectural details, artistic boutique flare, warm, friendly service, modern + minimal spacious rooms, fully equip kitchens, spectacular lagoon view and Infiniti pool lounge area, breathtaking rooftop with full bar service, snacks, and fresh ceviche. "A Hidden Gem" is accurate. I stayed here for 3 weeks during my trip to Mexico and loved it. I was undergoing fertility treatments in DT Cancun, and the owners Cristina, Alejandro, and Alex took very good care of me. They treated me like family, checked in on me daily and went above and beyond in every way. I loved the fact that this is a family owned and operated business that they take great pride in their service, artistic expression, and experience they provide others. The rooms are like little apartments with modern kitchen and amenities (as a designer and chef, I appreciated this a lot), very comfortable beds and linens (with lots of fluffy pillows!), multiple ceiling fans, AC, and large windows with amazing views. I felt so relaxed and at home here. It is not an all-inclusive experience, so this is perfect for those who like a more authentic Mexican experience, love to create their own adventures, and appreciate serenity and peace. Casa Tortugas is conveniently located at the beginning of hotel zone in a tucked away spot right on the lagoon. It feels very private and safe. It is close to Marina Puerto Cancun Mall (a 7 minute drive), a 5 minute drive from the large grocery store (Chedraui), and right across the street from the local beach (Playa Tortugas) and the ferry to Isla Mujeres. There are parking spots right outside. I can't wait to be back in Cancun in 2 months, and from now on when I am in Cancun, I will only stay at Casa Tortugas. Take a look at my photos - pictures do not do it justice. Stay at Casa Tortugas and you will know what I mean.

Our stay at Casa Tortugas was amazing. It is such a tranquil and relaxing hotel. It's in a quiet location with walking distance to the ferry that takes you to Isla Mujeres. The room was very clean and had one of the best views of the lagoon. I highly recommend this hotel if you're wanting a relaxing time in Cancun.

We stayed at Hotel Tortuga for three nights. The room itself was okay but sparsely furnished, the hotel area is nice. Unfortunately some cockroaches came out around the pool area at night. We also had one in our room which was not very pleasant. In General our stay was okay but for our departure to the airport we had booked a shuttle through the Alex the hotel manager which he offered to us. Unfortunately this did not work out at all!! We booked the shuttle and paid this around 50 dollars in advance. The next morning the shuttle unfortunately wasn’t there at the agreed time and also the hotel manager was not available via phone. After waiting for about half an hour, the lady at the reception told us that our shuttle was now on its way. A few minutes later a taxi arrived and we were told that this was our shuttle. Arrived at the airport, however, the cab driver demanded another 150 dollars (absolute tourist rip-off the price) from us with the comment he knew nothing about a paid shuttle! We tried again unsuccessfully to reach someone in the hotel for clarification and finally paid the cab driver who threatened us after some time downright. Unfortunately until now we couldn’t reach anyone from anymore and of course now ask ourselves the question whether this was maybe planned because it seems very dubious and not very serious. In total, we have now unfortunately paid $ 200 for a 20 minute cab ride. At least an explanation or apology from the hotel would have been appropriate or a refund of the shuttle which we had booked through Alex the hotel manager. Is also very mysterious that Alex doesn’t reply to our messages anymore while before he replied very fast. If you like to get ripped off enjoy your stay in hotel tortugas!

The hotel was beautiful! Overall the room itself was amazing, It was very boutique and me being a designer I really appreciated all the colors and attention to the architectural details. Truly a hidden gem. The pool overlooking the lagoon was probably my favorite part! Gorgeous at sunset! The staff treated us excellently.

The Almeda family are the most genial hosts. Their hospitality and passion is evident from the moment you arrive. Highlights of our stay included stunning sea views, memorable sunsets and a generous infinity pool overlooking the lagoon. This condo hotel is ideal for independent travellers offering spacious and comfortable rooms, mini kitchens and strong wifi with Netflix access via smart TVs. Experience great local restaurants including Rino Italian , La Bamba Mexican seafood and Serina Raw fish bar all via a short bus journey from outside the door. Managed to combine a relaxing holiday with some affordable necessary dental work perfectly ! Go there

Excellent place to stay with a friendly family that runs it. It's away from the main strip so it's calmer and more peaceful but also only a cheap five minute bus ride to get there. The rooms are like small apartments and are huge with everything you need

This place is truly special. Clean rooms, gorgeous views. We had a perfect trip here with our 7 year old son. Beach is just across the street. All the tourist attractions are within arm’s reach but coming home to this serene place was always my favorite part of the day. Cristina, Her son Alex, and the whole family were just superb hosts. Wish we could have stayed longer. 5 stars isn’t enough stars.
