We have been to this restaurant for years and this time we tried their new private section upstairs. The seafood are fresh, the meat are all tender, the chef prepared our Teppanyaki so diligently and put a nice show for us. The owner is friendly with the guests and always say hello and check if everything is okay. I highly recommend this place. Ps: they also have a nice selection of wine.

We were allowed to experience a new level of sushi and Japanese cuisine with you, the best sushi we have ever enjoyed.  It was the first time for us to taste and enjoy otoro and himachi, thank you for this enjoyable experience. The price level is a bit high, but the quality, the preparation and the enjoyment justify the price. We would love to come back and can only recommend a visit to you.👏👏👏

I want to give my compliments to the chef and staff, So sweet and kind , it really felt like home! On our last day we went for a romantic dinner here and i want to recommend everyone this place! Everything was so perfect from the beginning till the end. We really love teppanyaki and this was 10/10! Highlight of the night, the special Bali lobster, i have only one word for this, WOW! We are still thinking about it! We can’t wait to come back!

Great experience here. Our Teppanyaki chef Augustina was wonderful. He was engaging and skilled, had top notch dad jokes you come to expect from a Teppanyaki chef, ("butterfly" for flying butter and such) and he nailed our cooking preferences. Truly the highlight of our meal. The food was great but we come to teppanyaki spots for the fun and we were not disappointed. The Director, Ray (owner perhaps?) takes great pride in the restaurant. He introduced himself shortly after we were sat, and then later checked on us to make sure we were happy with our dinner. We enjoyed our visit and would love to come back on our next trip.

This was the best Japanese restaurant in bali. The sushi and sashimi was super fresh and absolutely delicious. I was so impressed that I even came back a few days later and tried the Shabu shabu. Again it was great. We got two different soup base and later order an extra order of vegetables for I think 20,000 idr which was a great value. We wanted to take the soup base home to try with a rice ans was delighted in that they offer to give us fresh soup. Actually I rather have the soup base we cooked the vegetables and meat as the flavor improves with cooking. So I declined but took notice of the attention to details to delight the customers. The first time I came my brother who was visiting from Thailand insisted that we generously tip the waiter. He is more generous than me but I agree se with the sentiment. Great food and great service should be rewarded. We were delighted and impressed!! Not once but twice. On my list of best of best bali. Great place to eat, clean & we'll run. Owned by an Aussie, Ray. He came out & introduced himself & even gave my wife a birthday cake without being asked. We had 15 of us go. Great experience. We were all very full afterwards.

The is one of the best restaurants we went to in Seminyak, it was that nice we went twice. The food was amazing and good value too. Staff was lovely and help, nice cold towel when you sat down plus the owner come over for a chat and check everything perfect for you. Couldn’t fault it 10 out 10.

Our first time here, and we really loved it! We ordered 2 types of teppanyaki and all of them were awesome 👏🏻 cooked to perfection and tasted very good, I almost mistakenly the tuna with beef because the tuna tasted like beef we can’t believe it 😂 nigiri sashimi also fresh! Hands down to the ingredients and the service as well 👍🏻 I must say this is one of the best of our dining experience, thank you for making our anniversary night memorable, we’d like to come back next time for sure! Sorry I didn’t take many pictures as i want to enjoy the experience 😉

The food here is exceptional! We ate at the tepanyaki bar and marvelled at the skill of the chef. The seafood and meat are cooked to perfection, accompanied by a variety of vegetables and sauces. Special mention for the green tea and black sesame ice cream :) Some might view the price on the high side but it's well worth it compared to what you would pay in Europe. The owner, Ray, makes a point of saying hello to customers, which is nice. All in all, we loved it!

We had a great dinner at this place, enjoyed sake, and Teppanyaki, the lobster was amazing, and the meat was perfectly cooked. Highly recommended 👌

We booked for Teppanyaki, with a Gluten Free participant., those with GF Partners will understand the complexities of finding venues that provide suitable variety. From the confirmation of booking to being seated GF was acknowledged and substitutes provided. Everyone has their own way of starting a meal, mates love a Cold Beer (I was assured they had these) ours is with cocktails. - 1 spicy drink not on the menu, and modified a second to make it spicy was not a trouble at all..... both sensational. Then which set menu? Bram our chef said we were the first in his 6+ plus years to substitute a dish for Lobster 🦞, but we just weren't feeling Barramundi, and we didnt fell.like 6 mains, so it didn't hurt to ask... - naturally it adds to the cost but it was certainly more than fair. Bram is very skilled at his profession, there were a few things, I am optimistic of replicating on my BBQ. We still had left overs, and they tasted as good in the morning, left over Lobster and Champagne is a great way to start the day when on Holidays. Ray thanks for taking the punt on opening a great venue, everything was Fantastic. I need to bring more people to give those T-Bones and especially those Tomahawks a run. My husband I and our 2 children (8 & 2yo) visited for dinner. The staff were AMAZING!! Anticipated what we would like, especially in regards to the kids, they were so accommodating especially with an over tired toddler at the end of dinner. The food was fantastic amd service second to none! Would highly recommend

At this the price it's just valuable. Fresh good funny depending your neighborhood. Get your friends.

Very fun experience, I had the $45 option and my friends both had the $29. Both were equally as delicious and wow was there soooo much food! We ended up taking some home because we couldn’t finish it all! The chef did awesome tricks and kept us entertained all night! The staff are very attentive and friendly and the owner introduced himself ‘ray’ he was very sweet and lovely. Lots of laughs and and all round awesome night!

My husband and I just had our 10th wedding anniversary dinner at Shima Teppanyaki tonight. The food was nice and the service was amazing. The staff were very attentive and the owner Ray was very friendly to check how was everything going to all customers. At the end of our meal, they brought a small dessert and the staff sang a song and congratulated us. We were very surprised and appreciated the gesture. We will definitely come back and recommend this place to others.

Definitely the best Japanese restaurant you can ever find in Bali. They serve the freshest sashimi and the most delightful experience if u go for the teppanyaki.... Been our favourite restaurant since day 1 we step foot here in Bali.. A must try for all, tourists and local alike....

Great food, great staffs, great ambience. Went for dinner, no parking outside the premise but valet service is available to take care of your car. Staffs were great, especially the chef doing the teppanyaki. They were all well-trained, great sense of humor, can really put an entertaining show while cook you a great food. Place could get crowded during dinner time. Everything was nice and clean. Price could get rather pricey tho, but really worth the taste.

Our first time back in Bali post-Covid and our first "must" was Shima on the day of arrival. It did not disappoint. Fantastic food, the cooking, and the produce quality all remain top, top, top. The staff was lovely as always, with smiles and super, super friendly. Yoga did a fantastic job of entertaining us as well as cooking the most delicious food. Lovely to see Ray, the owner, again after all the time that we were not able to come. Highly recommend. We brought my father-in-law who had never been... he has been waxing lyrical all night since we started eating. What higher accolade could you have?
