Fantastic nature trail. About 2 km easy walk on a stone paved road. Amazing animal sounds and close-up jungle experience. I started from the south and passed by an astonishing temple and waterfall. Highly recommended experience. No entrance fees.

This is one of Bali's top scenic walks. It is a pleasure passing through beautiful villages, rice fields, and green hills, and being able to enjoy the panoramic view over all these beautiful places. Considering all the stops for the photos it's a relatively short walk (20-30 min). It is much more rewarding if you go early in the morning (when fewer people are there) or in the evening! Once you reach the end of it enjoy the cafes around, have a drink and come back to Ubud central from the same patch (or take a taxi).

This is a fairly easy 2 kilometer hike along a paved trail that is easily accessible. You walk off the main road about 400 meters downhill until you reach a bridge. You will see a sign at the bridge pointing you to the right, where you will cross a river on a smaller bridge, then walk alongside a temple to start the trail. The trail is mostly uphill, but paved, so it is easy to walk. There are views of the forest from along the trail, and views of the homes along the tops of the hills. We took about 40 minutes to walk to the top (the north end of the trail) from the starting point on the road, and it was a bit quicker walking downhill on the return. At the northern end (top) of the trail, there is a cafe and a warung where you can get a meal, snacks, dessert, or a drink. They have restrooms available, but only for customers. There are a few shops at the top of the trail, and also an entry “gate” that is great for photos. I would recommend avoiding going on this trail during the hottest part of the day. It can be miserably hot walking the trail in the full sun. Take some water along, too!

Just amazing walk! In the morning or for the sunset! It’s a safe sport and at the beginning are some steps. Not too hard but for wheelchairs not accessible. It’s a holy path so be respectful on the track. By normal walking it takes around 20 mins. Spots for beautiful pics are random on the track. Same as garbage containers. You can spot many amazing animals crawls and cross the the way. Just look at them and have a look, they harmless and just want to pass by. After the track you can go further straight. You will come to an huge rice paddy, in the middle of that is Bamboo Kitchen, that is a must see! Check it out on google maps :)

Such a breathtaking place! If you plan to visit, go there a bit before the sunrise to enjoy the scene at maximum and the cool breeze of early morning. The place is suitable for jogging as well. You might bring some water because at that time, the cafés there are still closed. I enjoyed walking on the stone road with bare feet. It felt so connecting to the nature and the view. If you plan to do so, please be careful to step on the right place so you don't harm your feet, and just be cautious of the muddy spaces. Enjoy the best walk of your journey!

Walking along a narrow footpath, surrounded by the serene beauty of a river and picturesque landscapes, was an experience that felt like stepping into a painting. This path, reserved solely for pedestrians, was a ribbon of tranquility, weaving through a breathtaking tableau of nature. The walk began with the gentle sound of the river flowing alongside the path. Its rhythmic babbling seemed to sing a soothing lullaby, harmonizing with the soft rustle of the wind through the trees. The river, a glimmering mirror, reflected the vast, open sky and the lush, green foliage that bordered its banks, creating a scene so peaceful it almost felt surreal. As I ventured further, the path took a turn, unveiling expansive rice fields that stretched as far as the eye could see. These fields, a vibrant green, were like a patchwork quilt, meticulously laid out under the watchful eye of the sun. The sight of farmers tending to their crops, their movements methodical and rhythmic, added a human touch to the vastness of nature. They moved with a grace that spoke of years of tradition and a deep connection to the land. The path itself was a narrow, winding trail, just wide enough for a single person to pass. Its intimacy with the surrounding nature made the experience more personal, as if the journey was a private audience with the beauty of the countryside. Every turn brought a new vista, a fresh perspective of the river or the fields, each view more stunning than the last. The tranquility of the walk was profound. It was an escape from the chaos of everyday life, a chance to reconnect with nature. The simplicity of the path, the river, and the fields was a reminder of the beauty that lies in the ordinary, often overlooked aspects of the world. This walk was not just a physical journey, but a meditative one, providing a space for reflection and peace.

The social media almost fool me. You need to walk quite far to get to the actual picturesque view. Though for me, that’s actually just because of filters and presets. And it looks good only because of drones. However, if you really want to take a walk and inhale Ubud’s refreshing air, you can just walk down here while having your calories burned. Oh anyway no entrance ticket 💯

We visited this place in the evening but could not complete the entire trek so the review is as per our limited trip. The place is accessible through some stairs and about 2 km long. During peak hours of sunrise and sunset expect a lot of crowds. There are very few places to stop without causing a traffic jam behind you. The place however is serene and since it is quite close to Ubud town, it can be visited in the evening.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk is a picturesque trail in Ubud, Bali, known for its stunning views of lush landscapes. Visitors often praise its serene atmosphere, making it a perfect escape from the bustling city. The trail is relatively easy, offering a leisurely stroll through rice fields and scenic hills. Many appreciate the cultural and natural beauty, making it a popular spot for both nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat. Its free so not mutch to complain. Its only to bad the river under the 2 bridges is poluted.

Even though the path through nature doesn't offer the most stunning views, it's still a very nice walk and if you start from the south, you'll have a beautiful temple at the beginning, and once you reach the street, it's still nice to continue for a bit - or stop and have a coffee or shake in one of the cafés!

A lovely walk, not much of a view due to high weeds either side of the path. Would’ve been nice to see the ridge! Lots of people using for their morning run. Beautiful temple at the beginning of the walk. Quite a inconspicuous entry, google maps is super helpful, save offline so you don’t need to use your data 👍🏻

Unfortunately not what it used to be. Very over grown now with practically no more views over the valleys on either side of the ridge. Lots more development as well on the northern side. My recommendation, if you have lots of time to spare by all means do it. Otherwise do the sweet orange or sari walks, they are much more scenic.

A top notch walk to get the heart pumping to then dive into all the seriously amazing food in Ubud. This walk is portrayed as a 2km walk and whilst I was there a lot of people were dressed inappropriately in flip flops and no shirts. The sun is fierce here and there are bugs and snakes that bite here, so if you plan to walk the trail, wear a good pair of covered shoes and keep covered up. The path has several hilly parts, so not recommended unless you have a good pair of knees. A lot of fun when you complete it. At the end of the trail is a French cafe and a coffee house to relax before hiking back along the trail where you started.

The temple at the start of the trek near the mini mart is beautiful but it’s only accessible to the locals & apart from that, this is just a walking trek that locals & expats use to get to the next place, to jog, run & walk their dogs. It’s by no means a tourist attraction that’s a ‘must see’ when you’re in Ubud, unless you don’t have anywhere else to catch a nice view of the sunset & sunrise. I’d recommend giving it a miss.

The skies were very clear. Not sure if this is the normal setting but make sure you wear sunscreens. The walk have its ups and downs, literally. With the sun shining brightly, it's very refreshing to have a bottle of cold water. The walk itself actually doesn't have a predefined set. You could stop anywhere or just continue until you find the main road again. If you continue to walk until you are near the main road, you will find a restaurant named Bamboo Kitchen Ubud where you can relax after walking maybe 3-4 kms.

Great hike. It can get hot. Take water. Beautiful views. There are places for drinks etc. near the end. If you get close to the village amazing restaurants and places to stay. There are a few art galleries.

Big anti climax. Based on the pictures I saw , I thought this was going to be a really good walk with amazing views either side of the path . Either side if the bath was very long grass that was taller than most people and many trees , so you couldn't see anything. Maybe they trim the grass sometimes? You walk for 2km, get to the other side and that's it really . Good for a bit of fitness but not much else. We didn't see any Sunset due to poor visibility . So yeah I wouldn't break your neck to try and come here, unless you're near by or want some fitness.

Nice little walk, not too strenuous at all, with paving stones and only a few stairs. I continued through the small village at the top and onwards through the rice patties and did a long loop back to Ubud. It was a long walk with some hills and some sketchy portions of road where pedestrians need to yield to cars, but it was a beautiful, relaxing morning. Recommend going early before it gets too warm and bringing some water. Note, access to the path from the bottom is next to the Ibah resort entrance.

Don't let the pictures of this walk fool you. Nonetheless, it's a lovely walk through the countryside not far from Ubud centre. I'd recommend coming early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat! Trainer's are not essential.

super accessible and pretty easy trail to complete, thought the views would be slightly better than they are though. if you continue on there are some pretty rice paddies to look at but the main ridge line is not quite as exciting as expected. worth a visit as part of a day out, maybe 30 mins to the end and another 30 if you walk round to the road instead of doubling back.

If you like an easy walk, start out of town. It’s downhill! Starting from town makes for a more strenuous climb. It’s worth it either way. The views are lovely and you will find peace and quiet. Doing a loop is also very manageable.

A nice paved walk, best done early in the morning to avoid the heat. There were already a fair amount of people there at 6.30 am, some running! Earlier might be better. We had nice cool juices at the top warung. Beautiful to sit there and enjoy the views from the restaurant over the jungle.

Lovely hiking trail indeed. It takes roughly half an hour one way if you walk fast. But make sure you wear proper shoes, as the ground can be tough for slippers. It's great for couples and families who are into hiking and spending time together. Can be very relaxing and romantic.

The track itself is mid-moderate intensity but should be OK for one who doesn't exercise much. Go early, you can see houses in the distance along the way as well as some rice fields. Was told by a couple on the trek that the actual route is 10 km if u like. After the past 2km, it was shops and resorts. Found a lovely resort with nice infinity pool view.

Beautiful and peaceful, easy trek to the artistic village. Once in the village, walk to Kastara resort for a drink, lunch and a dip in their fantastic infinity pool right on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the jungle across. On your way you will walk among paddies on each sides, but no terraces here. Small art stores and cafes are open in the village. Easy access to the hike, easy, paved trek and not too long but a bit of a climb.

The trail was lightly traveled and short enough for a quick 30 minutes or less stroll. Physical distancing was easy enough to do. It is great to catch the sunrise during your nothing walks since that side is less obstructed by vegetations whereas the sunset could only be viewed at the open sections of the route. The rice terraces would be much better for sunrise than this path though. The temple at one side of the ridge is a great place to stop and rest with lots of shaded areas (in case you went on the afternoon). Very much a beginner's hiking trail so any age group could manage this without much effort.

About 2km of wonderful walk (and then you have to return; it’s not in a circle) through the jungle and rice fields. Absolute must while you are in Ubud. We did in rain but it was amazing though. You can park your car at the beginning of the walk, it was quite empty when we were there. No entrance fee.

The Campuhan Ridge walk is a favourite amongst travellers for sunset and it’s no secret why. You have unrestricted views all around you, the path is easy walking and ambience is a mixture of wind in palm trees with a hint of river. There is a swing quite early along the route which you can pay to use if you feel like shaking up your perspective a little. The section at the end of the walk is filled with cafes, rice paddies and uninterrupted sunsets. It’s sparsely populated but closely connected to town via the ridge. We loved it so much that we moved here for a month and tried out every place along the road! We wouldn’t suggest walking further than The Shed (where you can get a delicious meal) before heading back. If you have extra time, be sure to cross the bridge and head down to the river in front of the temple - a very peaceful and historically important river that is still a pilgrimage site today.

Great views and an easy walk. For sunset, walk from the direction of Karsa Cafe to the temple (otherwise the sunset will be behind you). Take your time and enjoy the views + birds flying overhead. Some parts of the path are overgrown, but that's to be expected from a nature path. However, watch out for the many inconsiderate people not wearing masks on the path.

Easy to miss the entrance for motorbike parking (you got to drive down and park on the left). The walk was great but hot even at 11am. Do check google maps because after you reach the place with coffee places in general, that's about the end of the walk. Don't forget to bring some cash to reward yourself for your hard work after 2km walk! I wanted to visit Yoga cafe for their 10k idr watermelon juice but had forgotten to put monies in the bag I brought out 🥺

A great trail to enjoy sunrise! You can either start from the north part or the south part. I recommend to start from the south part at around 6 AM so you will get the sunrise when you reached the north part which has a village to get quick breakfast or coffee. And then go back south when the sun is up and enjoy the ridge walk view without hurting you eves!

We walked from our hotel as it was all tracks and the scenery is amazing, going through rice fields, alleyways and the ridge walk itself. The track is open and exposed in places and it can get very hot and tiring, so a good hat and water is a must, once you reach the settlement it's easy walk and there's plenty of places for food and drinks, we chose the coconut. Avoid midday as the heat can be intense. Overall a great walk.

Now this is a wonderful walk. Take it steady , and enjoy it 😉. Get your transport to drop you off somewhere before Ubud. Pick a place baced on how far you want to walk so you finish in Ubud. Ubud end would then be on the down hill end. Go and enjoy.

Ridge walk is the wrong definition. Expectations need to be lowered for this walk. Only came here as it was mentioned in Things to do in Ubud. Which should be removed off the list. There are hundreds of better locations and walks around Ubud. Hire a driver and you will find. Only saving grace was it's free.

Nice, short walk along the ridge line with jungle views and sounds. Not overly busy during the day but recommend going early if you can. It’s free and free parking. There’s some hills but not really strenuous. Take some water and a hat and enjoy the green.

Nice and easy walk. Average view and lots of traffic during peak hours, though. There are places along the way where you can rest and have some drink, which was nice. It's a good getaway if you are staying in the busy city, but there definitely are better sights in Bali that are more spectacular.

It's a trek of 2 km anyone who are interested and love trekking should try this for sure. Surroundings are covered in trees if good whether it will be a nice trek. Starting of trek will be upward side on path and near the path you can hear flowing of water and can be seen as well.

Nice walk, but not much of a view. We bumped into a local man there who must have owned the little stop at the side which sold water etc.. The other bonus is the temple which is quite and 20k donation to come in, which was great bcos you can move around without people photo bombing you😅 it was really well kept and peaceful. Great stop on the way. It is very uneven so wearing shoes is probably better than flip flops etc

A nice trail with light trekking. Been there a couple of times during various timing. It's difficult to catch sunrise as the sun is beyond vegetation, but we have only tried once for that. For early morning walks, most time you have the trail for yourself with a few passerby. The stream down there is nice (to be viewed from far). I love that I can take my dog there as well, and now there is an additional parking space on the entrance slope. I usually end my walk with breakfast overlooking paddy field. Love to bring friends and families there.

Beautiful ridge walk, 2 km long. This hike is pretty exposed, so I would recommend going in the early am or pm for beautiful mist, lighting, and lowered crowds and temperatures. Not very touristy, I went mid-day and only saw maybe 20 people total. Expect uneven terrain, those concrete pavers are all over the place and many will tip on you! Hike starts along a beautiful river and next to a mossy temple. Definitely find the small path to the riverside just opposite the temple spire, the steep dirt and rock path is worth the view next to the river below. Beautiful plant and animal life along the trail, find the 'sleeping plants' with their puffy pink flowers and many leaves and try touching it, they'll instantly fall asleep, very cool for kids to see (see my attached video)! Many lizards of all sizes too. Some of the hike is steep, but ends in lovely cafes and has many shady resting places along the way, and it's only 2 km, almost anyone could do it. Once you reach the end, I recommend cafe Rare Angon (and NOT the yoga cafe in the rice Paddy just before them! They are not very nice there!)

  • 5/5 Bronwyn W. 1 year ago on Google
Not exactly what we expected, it was much better. It was a bit hard to find the start, which was odd because it’s so heavily advertised as a tourist attraction. It’s quite steep to start, but worth the views, and the warungs along the way are in picturesque rice paddies. Also, the end of the ’walk’ isn’t obvious, maybe we missed something! I would definitely recommend it.

Probably the best view of Ubud skyline that you will get for free 😍🙌 The rolling hills and meadows will mesmerize you. The view is unique and perfect for being together with friends or families. Highly recommended on a sunny morning. We went here with our dog in the afternoon and it was still stunning. It is a perfect place for tourists who loves to walk and do some trekking. It is roughly 40-50 mins walk from the starting point which is a small bridge. Wanting to do some outdoor activities so I came to this place since it was not far from where I stayed. I was unprepared and the trails caught me off guard—some are rocky with extreme slopes. However the view was mesmerizing—natural greeneries and beautiful temples became one with the clear blue sky. Some people brought their bikes and dogs to walk with.

DEFINITELY a must visited once in your life when you’re in Bali. The path is easy and built well. You can take one step at a time, because maybe after 15-25 minutes you’ll get a bit thirsty. Yeah, aging. I was here with my friend and my dog. Look how happy my dog at that time. Fresh air. Beautiful scenery. If you’re hungry, you can always find a cafe to stop by (on the other side, not here). Pause whatever you are doing and take a look at those scene. Remember through your eyes and mind. Feel those serene and peacefulness inside of your heart. 💚

(Translated by Google) There is no better place to walk in nature in Ubud. Better to go in the morning before 9 o'clock or closer to sunset from 17 o'clock. There and back - it takes half an hour. It's hot during the day and you won't get pleasure. There is no shadow. Take water anyway, there are small rises.

(Translated by Google) You can go to stretch your legs, as there are few places in Bali where you can walk. If you have a drone, you will get beautiful photos. (Original) Можно поехать размять ноги, так как на Бали мало мест где можно прогуляться. Если есть дрон, то получатся красивые фотографии.

2 km beginner friendly hiking trail. Very scenic as it’s located between two rivers. Best early in the morning before the heat as there is not much shade.

Nice place to walk, the air is clean. There is no entry fee. You enter the place either from the north entrance where you can find the tracking path right away or the south entrance where you need to put more effort. For the south part enter the villa and then go to your left, it is kinda have the same entrance as the villa

The view is good. It just somehow and sometime too crowded and you need to adjust your position to take a photo. Painful.

I obviously cannot add anything more about this famous walk except for you to wear comfy shoes and bring sun screen for extra protection. I would like to thank the security guard in Ibah that never tired to answer people questions on where is campuhan ridge and where to park. Salute

Perfect for morning walk. So quite and less touristy during the pandemic. Go from the north side if you bring motorcycle / car. The south side has minimart nearby if you need to buy water first. It'd be more comfortable if you wear proper shoes
