First
time
to
Leroy’s
and
I’m
very
curious
of
the
Vietnamese
fusion,
blending
of
modern
and
old
style
cuisine.
The
menu
looks
promising
for
instance
banh
mi
and
the
fried
chicken.
To
be
fair,
I
will
need
at
least
two
or
three
visits
just
to
sample
a
variety
of
items.
For
now
it
gets
three
stars.
Leroy
is
a
nice
establishment
away
from
the
busy
district
of
Canggu.
Heavy
competition
for
tourist
money,
everywhere.
I
ordered
the
calamari
and
the
spicy
chicken
with
egg
noodles.
The
food
came
out
promptly
with
little
time
to
spare,
since
I
was
maybe
the
third
customer
in
the
entire
establishment
and
it
was
5pm.
The
thinly
sliced
calamari
that
was
cooked
just
right-soft,
thin
golden
colored
batter
coated
each
one.
They
had
no
crunch
but
nicely
garnished
with
red
shavings
of
peppers,
green
onion
and
cilantro
leaves.
It
came
with
a
sriracha
mayo
dipping
sauce-that
looked
like
a
long
worm
snacked
itself
into
a
heaping
pile.
The
calamari
was
agreeable
with
my
self
and
the
three
flies
who
kept
me
company.
They
each
took
turn
dive
bombing
the
dish.
It
didn’t
bother
me
much
since
I
grew
up
with
siblings
and
squatting
near
the
ear
for
meals
was
typical
growing
up.
Bugs
were
not
a
challenge
at
meal
time,
it
was
something
that
helped
you
be
more
efficient
at
consuming
your
meal
and
not
wasting
food.
I
felt
like
the
flies
were
a
welcome
distraction,
it
remind
me
that
the
dish
was
appealing
to
someone.
The
chicken
dish
was
a
miss,
like
MIA
poultry.
Hello?
Are
you
in
there?
You
had
to
wonder
if
they
even
put
it
in
the
dish.
The
sauce
had
a
nice
taste
balanced
of
tartness,
semi
sweet
and
some
sort
of
plum
sauce
present.
But
it
was
a
little
thick
like
an
8
year
old
dumping
the
ketchup
on
French
fries.
It
also
made
me
wonder
if
I
could
tell
if
the
sauce
had
an
origin-Indian?nope.
Cantonese?
Nope.
Thai?
No
way.
Then
Asian?
Not
sure.
The
egg
noodle
by
themselves
were
the
best
part
since
it
was
cooked
to
a
nice
soft
texture.
Yeah,
something
right.
I
think
there
was
some
sort
of
leafy
greens.
Maybe
bok
choy
leaves
and
something
else
that
resembles
the
cabbage
family.
Unfortunately
it
was
heavily
masked
by
the
dark
mystery
sauce.
Finally
the
price
of
the
meal,
uhhh...overcharged.
Yes
I
read
the
price
on
the
menu,
did
the
3
grade
math
and
it
was
overcharged.
Yeah
I
will
not
come
back.
Sorry
lowering
the
final
score
1
Star.
And
I
was
so
optimistic...uggh.
