Love the vibe of this place. Samurai themed skateboard decor, hand painted artwork on the walls, tufted tiger rug, painted brick and vertical subway tiles everywhere. There were even Wakizashi door handles at the front of the restaurant. Good Lo-Fi hip hop music played the entire time we were there, and there were a couple of free to play 16 bit arcade games. The place seems to be the personal expression of an owner who loves japanese street aesthetic and a simple, good tasting bowl of ramen. Now for the food... We had the "Tonkotsu Black Garlic" and "Tonkotsu Classic" ramen, as well as a side of Karaage. Everything tasted as it should and was cooked perfectly. The Karaage was juicy inside and crispy outside, ramen had a great full bodied broth and a little more umami and salty kick in the black garlic version. The noodles were firm, and the ingredients were all in proportion. We loved the black garlic bowl for the novelty, but the classic was more familiar and arguably just as delicious.

Got the Tonkotsu Black Garlic Ramen for about Rp 85,000 which is half the price of what people would typically get in our home country, as well as the chicken karaage and the tamagoyaki. The ramen was really just mid, as much as it looked good it did not taste good. Texture was strange, and was really too savoury at the end. Tasted a lot of MSG and texture was not of ramen soup base. Chicken karaage was ok, but the tamagoyaki was definitely lacking - was cold and not that sweet. Not a satisfactory dinner at all. The atmosphere of the ramen place in general was just not it - the server turned off the lights halfway of an empty corner, while we totally understand it is to save costs, the corner was actually right before we were situated at so lighting became even more dim than it was already. What ruined the impression of the restaurant further was that we were not allowed to drink our own plain water in our own bottles. I understand that some restaurants put out this practice to encourage customers to buy the beverages from them, but ramen is a very savoury dish and to 'ban' people from drinking just their own water is not very tasteful of the outlet. The only saving graces are the photobooths to take pictures and mini arcade, but note that the photobooths require e-payment so do check if you have the relevant card/digital wallet to pay for it.

Here’s my first come and last visit here, Not welcoming at all, the staff only give us the menu and then bye. They only answered I asked something. When they serve the food, we didn’t have the chopsticks and we asked to the cashier girl but the amazing thing, she give us like 3-5 pairs chopsticks while just the two of us sitting on the table? Very disappointed with this kind of place and I think we deserved a good food, good service and same price with other ramen place.

The place has Japanese vibes. The food need more flavour in my opinion but they have a game retro machine which you can play with your friend or family.

Mad ronin, one of good ramen place in bali. Soup tastes above average, ingredients are great , gyoza taste average , the soy sauce for gyoza tastes a bit off. The ramen noodle a little bit flour-y? Place looks comfy with some retro decorations. Two arcade machine is playable inside. Price is average , a little bit more expensive. Not the first option to buy ramen , but would come again sometimes. Also , won't buy the gyoza again.

Bomb ramen and aesthetic place. They didn't have many menus, but they didn't disappoint at all. We ordered the tonkatsu classic and the black garlic, but I very much prefer the classic because the other one was too salty for my liking. The grilled pork gyoza is also good. Notes for ordering here: They will give you a slip of paper of the menu to fill out when you sit down. They will come to your table once you are done filling it. Also, they didn't have QRIS payment, only card and cash.

Very delicious Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. Very rich taste. I love garlic and they make it so Oishi. One of the best Japanese ramen in Bali. Comfort food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and greet me very well. I forget the name of “Bli” but he gives me good impression. Planning to visit the secret bar but it is closed on sunday night. I will be back next time.

Mad Ronin in Bali offers a memorable ramen experience that's hard to beat. With a carefully curated menu, each bowl of ramen is a testament to authentic flavors and quality ingredients. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for casual dining. Service is friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. While the wait times can occasionally stretch longer than expected, the delicious end result justifies the patience required. A definite go-to for ramen lovers in Bali, Mad Ronin falls just short of perfection but remains a solid choice for a flavorful meal.

Unique ramen shop with japanese vibes. We've ordered the original & black garlic. I prefer the black garlic, it tastes strong. But if you prefer mild taste, you can try the original one.

Here’s one thing to takeaway about Mad Ronin: They bring their name to be “authentic Japanese Ramen”. To the extent of authentic being the pork broth soup and specifically its noodle, I have to agree. Taste of the broth was exceptional. And the noodle texture was firm and good. Ordered the Classic and Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. However, the managers need to know a couple of rooms to seriously improve: 1. Pricing wise: 100k (inclusive tax) is way too expensive for a small portion like that. 2. Staff: waiter and waitresses are not attentive towards the customers. Foods are already ready to serve from the kitchen, yet they took new orders from new customers first. Others were just dwelling their time inside the kitchen. 3. Free kaarage Tuesday: does not do justice. What kind of part of the chicken do you guys use? It’s mostly fat. Might as well not serve them to the customers. 4. Pork shoulder slice: this is the most important point. The restaurant does not know how crucial the element of pork meat within a ramen. Texture was too hard — feels like eating something kept in fridge for the last 1 week. Extremely disappointing. Some of the above points have been shared by other reviewers, but clearly they don’t take comments to heart. That’s why I think I’d only come back after the 4 points above have all been catered in the future. Otherwise, there are far better ramen places out there beside MR that claimed to be “authentic”, honestly speaking.

Like most of the reviews state, it was quite average. Not terrible by any means, but the flavours didn't stand out either. Pork slices were a little chewy and the soup flavour was fairly mild.

The menu mostly are porks. I pick the chicken one. Its very tasty tho. The waiter are nice enough when we ask for additional garlic, chili, and we also got additional boiled egg, which is nice.

Came here at 11 am waited a bit until it was opened. The place wasn't so big. I bet if there were many people we would need to queue for a while. I tried the hell tonkotsu and it was great. The broth was tasty and they also gave a generous portion of sliced pork although for me the pork wasn't so tender. They give free egg on Wednesdays. In my opinion it's a bit too pricey, far more expensive than those ramen restaurants in Jakarta. However, it still worths trying.

Good ramen, I like the classic tonkotsu better than the black garlic one. There is a game arcade that you can play while waiting for your food. Btw it's an indoor restaurant with cool air conditioner (an important thing in Bali!).

Quick and reliable ramen joint in Petitenget. The ramen are good with decent noodles and sides. Perfect for giving your stomach a fatty soupy base before spending the night partying. There’s a parking lot next to this place in an abandoned building. Staff was nice, place was relatively clean too. It has retro arcade game machines and a secret bar upstairs.

Im so sorry 4 stars rate, its my personal taste. As for the service, everyone is very friendly, the place is comfortable and clean. The taste of the ramen is very bold for the black garlic ramen, so the taste of the base sauce is a bit annoying, for those who really like 'bold' flavors, I will recommend this, but yeah one day I will come back to try another menu...

Prepare to be transported back to the 90s as you step into their store, which features a captivating game arcade. Not only does this place offer the best ramen in the neighborhood, but even during moments when mineral water may be temporarily unavailable, fear not! Their delightful selection of sodas perfectly complements the dining experience.

a nice interior ramen place in Petitenget. they don't have plenty of seats but the decoration and the ambience is really nice. went here for dinner, and ordered the classic and garlic one + gyoza. they didnt blew me away, it was an okay. the meat was not tender, a little hard to chew. personally we like the garlic better because it has more kick to it the gyoza came really late after we finish our ramen. extra points for friendly service tho not my favorite place to eat ramen but definitely a must try for those who havent tried!

It's my second time coming here, the ramen was good and the broth flavor is so rich and tasty. But kinda bit disappointed with their veggie gyoza taste so plain for me

The ramens were a great subs during this pandemic if you really miss the ramens abroad, it is the closest thing you can get in this country if you have an unsatiable pork ramen craving. The black garlic has a more fragrant soup base compared to their tonkotsu. The noodles were springy, not overly thick or overcooked. The gyoza was kinda meh thou.. i would definitely come back to check out their rice. Price 4.5*/5* Taste 4.5*/5* Service 4*/5*

I would say overall taste is average, not the best ramen I’ve ever taste so far. From all options, Tonkotsu hell is quite enjoyable. Gyoza also so so. Well thumbs up for the staff, great service and attentive.

The broth and noodle are good, although not the best experience of Ramen in Bali for me. Also why the dark vibe at the premises? Parking space is not too spacious and located in the crowded street.

Tried their ramen and gyoza. Both are good in taste but i have to say that i’ll prefer to try other ramen resto instead of coming back here. And maybe they can make the room abit more light, i felt like im entering night club. Haha

👍👍 I'd recommend reserving for brunch if you want to sit indoors. I ordered the Full English Bunny Breakfast which was very good. Every ingredient was delicious and it came in a lightly toasted brioche bun. For the drink I ordered the Strong Boy - I highly recommend it 👍
