This restaurant is definitely for westerners as locals would never pay this price for food. There was a bit of confusion as the entrance is for two different restaurants and the staff couldn’t find our reservation. Fortunately there really were barely any customers (maybe two other tables), so we could choose a table. That being said, the food was delicious and presented nicely. The staff is very nice and friendly. I think one person was in training. One thing I really dislike is when people pour beer into a glass like water. Please don’t do this as it will foam up — either tilt the glass and pour or just let us pour it ourselves. Note: don’t tip via credit card as the hotel owners will receive the money directly and not the staff. Always tip the staff in cash! This ensures they actually receive the money.

Everything about this place was stunning. Entering through their walkway and see a great hall with a massive in the middle of a platform, was impressive. Staff were kind and welcoming and seated us without having reservations. We took one of the four tasting menus and enjoyed eating it out of a miniature dragon boat.

Loved this dining experience! Each member of the service staff welcomed us and made us feel seen and quite truly like invited guests. Iwa offered a large Indonesian menu with lots of vegetarian options. Both of our dishes were elaborately plated and bursting with flavor! I foresee us returning again during our trip and encourage anyone looking for a great Indonesian dining experience tucked inside an architectural wonder to please check this one out!!

Possible to just order a normal meal but it is also possible for every dish to order a smaller portion so you can share several dishes with your table. One of the other reviews said this isn’t authentic Indonesian food so I was a little worried but to this tourist it seemed very authentic and was the kind of new food experience that I love when traveling. We ordered the set #4 the flavors were intense but balanced and mixing and matching different elements resulted in many little interesting bites of flavor that were each delightful in different ways.

I came here for dinner with my partner and the restaurant has a exclusive ambience. The sittings are far apart to have your own personal space. Food was great, is closer to Indonesian cuisine than Balinese type food. Floor staffs are friendly and knowledgeable with the dishes, I mentioned to the staffs that i the local spinach (kangkung) and he was able to get the kitchen to make me this dish. Would recommend if your live around Canggu and keen for some authentic local food with great atmosphere.

The one that truly blew my mind was the "Pesan Be Pasih Gianyar" - was an absolute gem and well-prepared. The service was great as well. Efficient, they know their menu well, and kids friendly too. Canggu is pretty much covered with new hip-concept restaurants, but this one remains traditional and classy at the same time. Thank you so much for the amazing experience.

We had an unforgettable experience at Iwa! The food was exceptional, they offer both Balinese and Javanese traditional cuisine that is elevated to to the level of some of the best restaurants in Melbourne, Australia. It was both delicious and considered with all of the elements of crunch, acidity, sweetness, umami and salt. It was on the pricier end for Indonesian food, but it is worth it for the effort put in by the chef to prepare such a grand take on the dishes. The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful and our server last night, Putu, was wonderful! She explained the menu, was attentive and we ended up having some great conversation with her as well which made our experience even better! Highly recommended!!!

I saw Barong and Rangda dance and it was breath-taking! I think this is the only Balinese performance available in Canggu area. There is no additional fee for the performance, we just order dinner, juices, and dessert, and the dance is performed almost the whole dinner time. I was amused the whole night! It's very pleasant to watch the performance while enjoying our dinner, the taste was as lovely as its presentation.

Five stars for the friendly staff and great vibe. I don't like the food exactly. Food quality itself is good but it seems to adjust a lot for western flavor... For example, their gado gado is lack of peanut scent and become plain. A pity. If you love vintage and antique arts, definitely a must go. The environment is classy and exotic.
