Currently my favorite restaurant in Bali. It was so good that the 1st time we, me and my husband, knew this restaurant, we came 3 times in a week. The cocktails selection is a must try. Our favorite were Balinese Margarita and Sumatran Negroni. All the appetizers are so delicious, it is like a festive in your mouth. We have tried all of them and love all of them. 10 out of 10 star. And if you feel like you can have it all, try their tasting menu. Service was also top notch, when my daughter drop a bottle of water, the waiter came right away, I could see they don't just stand but really paid attention to the guest. One restaurant not be missed.

An alternative take on traditional Indonesian food which combines the fine dining presentation with mixture of taste that you have never tried before. From the menu that were recommended, we loved the rib eye and caviar the best. The octopus had a fishy smell to it, the lontong is too similar to Korean Tteok-bokki instead, but the beef cheek is pretty soft. The dessert Pala is the best, the mango sorbet is alright, you should avoid the durian scoop though. Overall, amazing experience and great place for a fusion dining feels.

Fanciful restaurant with quality food prepared from fresh ingredients. Two of us ordered one tasting menu at IDR 750k before tax, and Semur Bebek Betwai at IDR 290k, plus two drinks. The smoked duck was the best we had in Bali so far, though gravy was a tad salty. The 6 dishes of the tasting menu was nicely plated, with different variety of tastes, colours, presentations.

This restaurant is located in Krobokan area. The types of food served are fusion in nature, and experiment with various spices and unusual menus. Most of the food is quite good, but there are types of food that are a mix of types of ingredients and seasonings that are not common. The ambiance of this restaurant is quite comfortable, coincidentally when I came to this place I got an area in the outdoor section close to the main road so it was a bit crowded with the sound of passing vehicles. Over all this restaurant serves food that gives a different experience.. Quite impressive

Dined on Tuesday for Steak Night and had an amazing meal! The ambience of the restaurant is so trendy and lovely. Great for dates or groups. Love that you can see the chefs in the kitchen, and love the lighting of the entire space! The food was incredible. Started with an amuse bouche of beef rendang croquette. Then went for the oysters, tuna/scallop tartare with calamansi. Had the lobster ravioli laksa and then the wagyu short rib and New Zealand ribeye as our pains with duck fat potato and broccoli sides. Ended it with chocolate tart and date puddings. The meal was beyond many experiences I’ve had in NYC (where I’m from) and was so nice to be in a restaurant that made me feel like I was back in a city. Can’t wait to try their other promo nights. Highly recommend!

Decent Indonesian fusion restaurant with a variety of dishes. We had the yellowfin tuna tart, pork belly as starters, lobster dumpling and ink noodles for our carbs and the duck for our mains. We enjoyed the lobster dumpling in laksa soup and the pork belly the most. The portion is actually bigger than the usual fine dining place that we went to which is a pleasant surprise.

We liked the small platters, because it meant that we could try many different dishes. The menu is so special, it would have been hard to select only one meal. The Octopus baked in bamboo was really nice and tender. The complementary bite sized goodies were also lovely. Waiters are always on the watch out to fill our glasses with water. It was a very nice experience, thank you.

Stumbled across this little highlight during my Bali vacation. A cleverly curated fusion of Indonesian fine dining in an ambient & classy setting. Lovely presentation and flavours incorporating a unique take on traditional flavours using wood fired processes. Highlights for me were the rendang crumpets and duck breast with banana blossom with masoyi, delicious! 🙏Also worthy of mention was the attentive service, highly recommended if you're in Seminyak! 🙂

I recently celebrated my birthday at Sangsaka, and it was truly a delightful dinner with my family. The food was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking Indonesian contemporary cuisine. The staff were incredibly courteous and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was memorable. The booking process was also hassle-free, making it convenient to secure a reservation. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Sangsaka and left with happy hearts and satisfied taste buds.

A friend recommended this place and I'm glad he did. The tasting menu was amazing. The lobster dumpling with shellfish bisque was my favourite. I could drink a litre of that bisque. Must have in Bali.

Great food overall and outstanding service. Started with an amuse bouche of beef croquettes followed by selection of well balanced and presented entrees - the quail sate and pork belly were standouts. Also had the squid, octopus and smoked baby chicken (well smoked and tender). Mains were beef cheek curry, and duck with soft shell crab rice and broccoli. Cocktails were great. Change of plates during service was appreciated. We ordered far too much given the generous portions so asked for a takeaway box for leftovers!

I guess you would consider this place “fancy” for Bali standards but the food was well worth it. We ordered the set menu. Highlights: Yellowfin tuna tart (pie tee) Lamb croquette (add on) Lobster dumpling with seafood bisque Duck breast & red cabbage Personally, the octopus dish was a bit too salty for my liking and the crab crumpet was bland. Overall, good food and great service. We did not have to wait too long in between dishes and we were super full at the end. Definitely worth a visit if you wanted to treat yourself on holidays.

Pro tip: - make reservations in advance or come during the off hours. - order multiple different dishes and taste the unique flavor of each. - They offer a few complimentary snacks. - Definitely order the Flower blossom salad, Duck rice, and Charcoal grilled chicken. Bali is one of my most favorite destinations in the world and one of the reasons are because of amazing restaurants like Sangsaka. It’s the combination of fresh food, unique distinct flavors, attentive staff, and the great pricing. We ordered the following dishes - Duck Rice (amazing) - Duck Breast (skip) - Flower blossom salad (Amazing) - Charcoal grilled chicken x 3 (close Amazing) As an added bonus they gave us a a few small appetizer snacks. Lastly, this place will not disappoint and would rank as one of my top 3 restaurants in Bali.

Very well executed, unique food for a reasonable price considering the quality. The only negative to us which lost a star was that we spent over 1,000,000 IDR on food only and were in and out within 50 minutes. It was all a bit rushed unfortunately for what we had hoped to be a nice relaxing night out. Regardless, the food is exceptional and I would still come back during our next visit to Bali. At the start you're offered a complimentary amuse-bouche which was absolutely delicious. For us it was a crumbed beef rendang ball... could have eaten 10! For entree we shared a few of the share items. The Oxtail crumpet was a must have, the mud crab bun was very nice and the lobster dumpling... yum! (the seafood broth is almost the highlight over the lobster). For main we had the duck, coral trout and the fried rice. All were amazing but I have to say the fried rice was the best we've ever had. Highly recommended if you have the opportunity to visit, I'd simply suggest asking for the pace to be slowed down if you are looking for a relaxed night out.

One of the best Indonesian restaurant in Bali, definitely. The balance of the spices and the high quality ingredients make this place one of my favourite for Indonesian food. The chef is an artist, and is able to recreate the Indonesian dishes adding his magic touch.

One of the best meals I've had in Bali. Every dish was spot on, and the portions were good too. It was nice and cosy inside, and the entire experience was 💯💯💯. Strongly recommend the barramundi fillet (2nd pic), pigeon with eggplants (2nd last pic), and the beef shank (last pic). T'was truly a bussin gastronomical experience.

Really good place for slightly fancier food. We broke a glass by accident (grabbing it too hard and it shattered) and they charged us for the replacement beer.. Other than that, the food was really good and reasonably priced, the complimentary amuse bouche was a really nice touch. It’s a great place for a catch up with friends

Literally best restaurant in Bali I've tried. It's fusion which I'm usually not keen on, but this one was just too good. I love the sauce here and the freshness of the food material. Must give credit to the chef.

Wonderful all around! Exciting menu and great ambience and service! I have a shellfish allergy so opted not to do the tasting menu, and there were so many other good choices. The oysters were fabulous as was the amuse bouche beef randang croquette! The pork dish was amazing and although I was curious about the trout dumpling -it was not my favorite and could have done without. Leave room for dessert though! Plus the cocktails were tasty. All around great experience! Highly recommend!

Incredible meal - must go if in Seminyak. We were glad to have over-ordered so that we could have second rounds back at our hotel. After searching far and wide before our trip to Bali, and hoping to find some good Indonesian food for my day trip to Seminyak, I finally made a booking at Sangsaka and it did not disappoint. Highlight here is the food. We were off to a good start with a flavorful amuse bouche, followed by two appetizers: yellowfin tuna and octopus. I'm a big fan of tuna dishes so we were pleased for the fresh taste while the chili and herbs added a good kick and spin to the common dish, while the octopus again was very flavorful with local ingredients and taste, itself extremely tender. The sauce was magnificent, which helped to clear the dish despite my reluctance to finish the filling potatoes. For the hot dishes, the Pangsit Laksa (lobster dumpling) with the shellfish bisque was creative and tasty, a must-order especially considering the price for this. The Mie Udang Kipas (lobster, clams, and noodles) was probably my favorite dish - the lobster was easy to eat and tasted fresh, the chewy noodles cooked to perfection, and the whole plate was just filled with umami. We also had the chicken & prawn fried rice with poached egg which, despite being very simple, was as much a delight as the noodles. The weak link may be the drinks as it did not seem to have many choices of wine available, and the one I picked ultimately did not really taste the best, but this definitely does not take away from the actual food. The ambiance is comfortable with a relatively dark setting for dinner, great for a date night, while the many dishes to offer is also perfect for friend groups so you can try as many dishes possible.

Sangsaka Restaurant it's an amazing place! This is a fact, we tried two different set dinner during the last month and we enjoyed the food experience, dumplings night fulfilled us with a strong taste and the curry night give us a true Indonesian flavour experience. There are no negative part related to the food and the service is very attentive and professional! We will go for a la carte dinner very soon! It's a very amazing discovery!

We had a fantastic dinner experience at Sangsaka. Stunning food & the staff looked after us superbly. Took great care due to our son having a peanut allergy and we didn't wait long for anything. Definitely up there with some of the best restaurants in Australia without the super outrageous prices. Still more expensive than your regular venue in Bali, but great value considering the quality of the food. Highly recommend for people who really appreciate good food & flavour. Met the chef Kieran & his beautiful wife. Lovely!

Dined at Sangsaka in Bali and it was fantastic. The food is top-notch, especially the Timor Punch cocktail. Loved the elegant decor and watching the focused kitchen staff was a joy. Although a few Australian wines would be a great addition, overall, it’s a fabulous experience. Highly recommend!

An Indonesian restaurant managed by an Australian chef. It surprised me how good Indonesian food be in the hand of western chef! All ingredients are superb, the taste of the foods are so so amazing, and the presentations are fabulous. I also love how the chef add a fresh touch of local plants that I’ve never thought they were edible because I always thought they were just wild grasses. Impressive!

I never knew the true meaning of the word ‘’mouthgasm’ until I ate here. We were greeted with attentive and smiling staff with a small plate of hors d’oeurvres that were so delicious and flavoursome that we chose the tasting menu so that we could experience as much of the menu as possible. I tell you, if you do the same: you will not regret it. Nine delicious dishes made there way to the table in a timely manner, that exploded with a fusion of traditional Indonesian flavours and ingredients. The duck breast, Ox Tail, and Yellowtail Tuna stood out in particular, but even the dishes lowest on the list posted far above anything else you can find in Seminyak. A huge thank you to the chef and staff who made tonight such a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back.

If you like Indonesian cuisine, this place is worth trying. I found their selection of cocktails is quite limited. Though, this Sumatra Negroni was quite nice. But I don't see 'Sumatra' in the concoction. This oyster with some granita crumbles aren't bad at all. It was nice one to start off the dinner. Oyster, this was cooked very well. Tender, mixed with spicy Indonesian theme. It was probably the best pick of the restaurant. Main courses, probably my choice wasn't the best. But I don't see any particular 'its own' blend. Tofu salad was nothing more than fancy gado gado. Prawn Mee wasn't my choice, but my friend also didn't particularly enjoy this dish, I'm afraid. Overall, it wasn't bad at all. But if I go back? I have to study their menu again very well, I think.

Without a doubt one of the best meals we have had in Bali in the last 15+ yrs of visiting here and having eaten at plenty of restaurants. We heard about this restaurant in a blog and looking at Google reviews decided to try it, we choose the tasting menu which in my opinion is great value. Every single dish was spectacular, very clean dishes immaculately showcasing the produce but with a nice balance of Balinese touch to it. What we really enjoyed was how good the Indonesian flavours was infused in all the dishes but not too overpowering with strong flavours so as to let the produce be the main hero of the dish. The Australian chef has done a brilliant job of designing the menu, dishes and balance of the dishes with a creative Indonesian touch to it. We both had tasting menu with a drink each and it came to 1.4M rupiah which in my opinion is great value. Both service staff and kitchen staff were very professional, well trained and looked after us brilliantly. Without a doubt this is now gonna become one of our goto restaurants in Seminyak for our future visits.

💛 Second time back and the first reservation I made when planning this trip (after flights and hotel) - that tells you enough! What I love is that Sangsaka’s menu is truly innovative and delicious. For foodies who have tasted the best of Indonesian cuisine, the food here will still spark curiosity and delight your tastebuds. The menu changes regularly though, so dishes I enjoyed during my first visit were sadly no longer available. So glad my favourite Pangsit in Laksa sauce was still on the menu - don’t miss it! I do think it’s on the pricey side, my most expensive meal on this trip - nothing a real foodie wouldn’t shell out for but there are also many other good restos in Seminyak if that is a concern. ✨ Bonus point: made my reservation online with no deposit required, unlike another pretty well-known resto in Seminyak 🫢

With “unbelievably”good value for; Food, beer, cocktails and wine ... no hidden hooks or tricky pricing here, it’s simply fantastic quality and value all the way through and a truly memorable evening! (Translated by Google) A restaurant that discriminates against local tourists !! I requested to sit at a table with a barong dancer background, but was rejected on the grounds that I was already in RSV. If I could rsvd why when I called I wasn't asked where to sit ?? So I was put in another place, not how long with 4 foreigners and sitting next to my table even though there were still many empty tables, at that time there were only 6 guests, me two and 4 foreigners. So the whole restaurant is only 2 tables filled. There are so many tables, why do you have to sit next to mine, huh ??? Don't you care about social distancing ??? Finally I moved to another table. 20 minutes and then 4 more guests (non-local) were again directed to sit next to my table, even though I had already moved from the first table. - [] Apparently the guest chose to sit at another table. This guest chose to sit at the table I requested first (which the waiter couldn't allow on the grounds that I was already on RSV). - [] And this guest is allowed to sit at the table with the background wallpaper of the barong dancer. When I complained he said this side was not filled in, but the proof is that foreigners can sit there, and 2 foreigners are sitting there too, NO SOCIAL DISTANCING !!! What does this mean? Discrimination because I speak Indonesian? Do you have to speak English in your own country to get the seats you want? Already during the time of COVID like this, there are still times of discrimination with local tourists! No wonder the recovery of Bali tourism, because there are still many who like this, underestimating local tourists! Jd whole resto cuma 2 meja yg terisi. Dr segitu banyak meja knp hrs duduk dekatan sebelahan dgn meja gue ya??? Tidak peduli social distancing kah??? Akhirnya gue pindah ke meja lain. 20 mnt kmdn masuk 4 tamu lagi (non lokal) lagi lagi diarahkan untuk duduk sebelahan dengan meja gue , padahal gue uda pindah nih dr meja yg pertama. - [ ] Rupanya si tamu memilih utk duduk meja lain.

Great ambiance and friendly staff. It’s definitely one of the more “up scale” restaurants in Bali. Highly recommend making a reservation and also the pork belly dish + grilled veggies! There dessert options were tasty as well - asked for just coconut ice cream w some pie crust and it was perfect.

The best restaurant in Bali. We have tried many authentic restaurants here but this one was the most memorable experience for us. Thank you very much for the amazing service and high class food.

Honest review: Food is nicely presented but flavours are a bit confusing and some dishes need improvement. The sauces can be overpowering at times. I really hoped the food would represent the culture and tastes of Bali but a bit hit and miss. Service: Attentive staff who seem eager to please and serve professionally. 3.5/5

👍👍 I'd recommend reserving for brunch if you want to sit indoors. I ordered the Full English Bunny Breakfast which was very good. Every ingredient was delicious and it came in a lightly toasted brioche bun. For the drink I ordered the Strong Boy - I highly recommend it 👍
