Excellent cooking course in Indonesia, good value for money I thought. Start off by visiting the markets and quick tour before heading back to the cooking class. I really liked the pace, 11 dishes or so we cooked. As a team you chop up all the different ingredients and then take it in turns learning how to cook traditional foods. The instructors were very funny and entertaining as well as informative, definitely recommend doing this, just a half day. Plus you walk away with certificate and the recipes. Thank you 😊

This is the best Warung I've eaten at so far. The reason why the food is good here is because the food is marinated beforehand; the sauce isn't necessary but does enhance the dishes. The rack of pork ribs is clearly the star dish. Atmosphere was good, waitress is a natural at her job so I happily tipped her more. The food here is good, and I want them to do well so my only suggestions for improvement is to cook the corn for a bit longer and perhaps have some vegetable dishes. I would recommend this place!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Warung Nia Balinese Food & Pork Ribs for lunch, choosing to forgo a cooking class. The atmosphere was buzzing with multiple cooking classes, all of which seemed engaging and fun – something I'm keen to try with friends on my next visit. The culinary highlight was definitely the pork ribs. They were the best I've had in Bali: superbly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Alongside the ribs, I ordered the Mixed Satay Set A, featuring a generous assortment of eight pieces of pork and chicken satay. The BBQ sauce used here was a standout, lending a delicious and rich flavor to the already tender meat. Among the satay options, the pork was my favorite, thanks to its juiciness. The plethora of side dishes accompanying the meal were all remarkable, each adding its own unique touch to the feast. To combat the sweltering Balinese heat, a Coke Zero with ice was a refreshing choice, perfectly cutting through the oiliness of the grilled meats. Finishing the meal, I was left thoroughly satisfied, already missing the place and counting down to my next visit to Seminyak, where Warung Nia will undoubtedly be a must-go destination.

Absolutely the beeeeeessast food in whole island. Love it so much that i had it on my first day and gotta drive 60km in total from ubud to have it again on my last day. Price is indeed expensive compared to local and other western restaurants but its worth every penny. Ribs and sates are indeed the best, they even gave me a dessert as a thanks, lovely!

UPDATE - DISLIKE this restaurant practice of replying with an insincere pasted text. Especially when they ignore any criticisms and try to put words in your mouth. It's MY review, not your chance to tell us how good you are. Star 🌟 removed - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nice location fairly well hidden Plenty of seating. Service efficient and prices fair Food was good but just missed out on 5 stars because my pork satay were really chewy and poor meat. Chicken was fine All other food was good I'd go back again but I would avoid the mixed satay

The food is really good and fast serving. The staff would come over to talk to customers on the food quality not just once but twice to ensure their food quality is up to the standard. Staff are friendly and as a customer and someone who is not local, I feel great to enjoy my meal here. The atmosphere is cooling but it will be best if there is no houseflies flying around. The price of the food also quite reasonable.

The best ribs in Bali hands down. The vibe is relaxing and cozy. Location is not too far in seminyak area. Kids love the bbq flavour and if you are into spicy food, can order spicy up to level 10. Satay is soft n juicy with tradisional peanut sauce. Just perfect. Service is quick and the waiters are very friendly and eager to hear your feedback. Overall very pleasant dining experience. And oh they have solo live music too... i havent tried their cooking class yet... maybe i should in next trip. Keep it up guys... thumbs up

This was absolutely our favorite meal in Bali! The chicken satay is soooo flavorful, both my husband and I had to take a pause after our first bite to say wow! The staff is also so kind and welcoming and stopped by our table to ask us about ourselves and make sure everything was to our liking. Highly highly recommend this place if you’re nearby!!

Very good indonesian food. We had the chicken satay and fried noodles. Both were delicious, but very large portions. The staff was very helpful and sweet. Unfortunately, the inside area is very small, and since we had a very loud group behind us, it was not pleasant at all. Definitely recommend it!

The cooking class was the best we have ever done. We cooked so many different dishes, there was no rush, we had time to learn and enjoy. The team who facilitated the class was very kind and patient with us, the chef was great fun, we laughed lots and have the most positive memory. It was an absolutely amazing family experience, even for people who do not generally cook. Two people were running late and the team was extremely understanding. The food was finger-licking good, better than any restaurant. We did the cooking class at the villa and it went super smoothly. We have previously done a lot of cooking classes, but this was by far the best. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed and it will be a highlight of your trip. Thank you so much Komang!

Excellent value for its activity and food. If you're a foodie, this is a must! Located in a convinient area. Great instructors. Great menu. My husband and I enjoyed our time cooking Indonesian and Balinese cuisines. The only thing I would ask to improve is a pick up and drop off service.

Restaurant that serves delicious local dish. Very friendly staff and I think they have some kind of training. If you order their complete dish set, the server will explain to you about the dish. Not really child friendly but could be a pretty good place to chat while enjoying your food. Good for large group of people and has a big parking lot. Pretty expensive for local tourist (not a budget meal).

Good ambience, decorated lamps, live music in the evening. For Veggie Lovers, they have a vegetarian dish - essentially a platter with different veg servings. Can work for two people. Mushrooms cooked in banana leaf, papaya salad, a gravy like Thai yellow curry, rice bowl and a couple of more items.

Perfect place to have a good lunch or diner. The prices are affordable, and the sets are enough for 2 person as well. We tried the Grill Pork Ribs Comb, and that was really tasty (but little bit spicy also, so be aware if you don't like chili). The staff is really kind and friendly. We are recommend this warung for everyone.

We came here for lunch and also joined their cooking class. Chef Tommy was funny and he made the class entertaining. We learned a lot about Balinese spices and herbs, and we cooked a lot of food in a few hours. We had a great time and I highly recommend joining the class when in Bali. We also came and ate at the restaurant and the food were very nice. The ribs were exceptionally good, full of flavors and falling off the bone. Pork sate was good but we like the ones at Yulia's better though.

We went here for lunch accidentally after perusing the flea market. The food here definitely lives up to the reviews online! I had the grilled red snapper I believe, and it was so freaking good! The sambal and accompanying dipping sauces really set it over the top. We asked for it to be spicy and they made some adjustments. Nothing but bones left at the end of the meal! It’s big enough to share but we also got the chicken and egg fried noodles with chicken satay, which was also very flavorful and good. I also had a cold coconut from next door that the server brought over and my husband had the passion fruit refresher. We left very very happy! I wish I had planned ahead to do a cooking class here, it sounded super fun. The service was accommodating and very nice, and they made some good recommendations. The food came out pretty fast but we were only one of a few tables. I would definitely come back for the fish, one of the best fish dishes I’ve had on our trip!

I have done many cooking classes around the world and I found Nia cooking class to be very engaging and enjoyable. Chef Bagus is amazing in his humorous management of the group. Everyone had hands on experience and the feast at the end was really good. Thank you so much to the team at Nia cooking school. I look forward to going home and cooking up a Bali feast for family and friends and even more coming back next year to do another enjoyment course with you all.

Took the family here for a cooking class, what a wonderful experience! Starts at 8:15am with a visit to the local market, then back to Warung Nia to learn how to make a range of meals. Good atmosphere, you get to chat to other travellers. Finished at 1pm. Chef Komang and his staff keep everything running smoothly with a good blend of humour and instruction. Very much hands-on, includes chopping & dicing, cooking, and also how to wrap in banana leaves for baking.

Hands down - one of my most incredible experiences in Bali!!!! Honestly, even if you don’t “cook” - you should go just for the food. Best I ate during my entire Bali trip. I went solo and made friends from many other countries. Everyone so friendly. Great solo or bring your group. The chef that runs the class is GREAT. Super smart and knowledgeable regarding all aspects of cooking and culture. Funny and entertaining. Everything was meticulously organized! There was also a great emphasis on CLEANLINESS and freshness of the food. They order the food directly from supplier so it is much fresher than market. I took the class at the Seminak The car picks you up at your villa and takes you to the restaurant location. They take you to an air conditioned seating area with bottled water where you meet the others in your group, get name tags etc. Once everyone is there, they take you to the market in a large vehicle. The head chef gives a tour of the market. You are able to buy a few fun food items that are approved for plane travel. For example: I bought the packaged mix to make peanut sauce and nasi goreng. After the tour they take you back to the restaurant (and AC area) where you can wash hands, etc. They give you a beverage and a delicious little desert treat. Then the cooking begins!!!! We made so many dishes! Like 6 or 8. It is super organized and there is always someone helping. As you make the meals they will have staff grab at certain point and finish in the kitchen. But you get to partake in every aspect of the cooking process but all the food is fresh and hot the way they coordinate it. Fine tuned machine. So impressed!!!! Once the cooking is done, everyone sits to enjoy the delicious food family style. You can buy beverages or bintangs (beer) to enjoy with your meal. They give you a cute certificate and a booklet with all the recipes you make - definitely going to have a Bali food party when I get home! BEST FOOD IN BALI. Don’t hesitate! Take this class!!!

Fantastic cooking school in Seminyak. Chef Bagus and his team are warm, friendly, hospitable and very engaging. Trip to the market first to learn about all the ingredients we would use and then we learnt 12 different Balinese recipes, all very yummy. Don't look anywhere else if you are looking for a cooking class in Bali. You won't be disappointed! 6 Stars.

When I say this is one of the most authentic traditional Warung's you can visit in Bali I truely mean it, with a rustic thatch roof and outdoor eating (as well as indoor) plus ceiling fans to keep you cool in the Balinese heat. You will be greeted by genuinely beautiful people that will work hard to deliver that meal you dreamt about when you booked your trip to Bali. Warung Nia serves amazing meals and having been here twice in two days I can honestly say the Nasi Goreng, Mi Goreng, Pork Ribs, fire roasted corn and Crispy Calamari are all cooked to world class standards using only the highest quality ingredients and will blow your mind. Warung Nia also offer intimate cooking classes with small numbers which we will be also attending tomorrow. If you only get one chance to visit a Warung on your stay ensure you come to Warung Nia.

  • 4/5 Genevieve B. 1 year ago on Google
Update, we visited twice during our stay it was that good, ribs might have been even better the second time round. We tried the pork satay too and it was delicious. We can’t get over the icy goodness of the beer, just amazing. Brilliant ribs and chicken satay. Be careful with the spice on the ribs, spice level 5 out of 10 will knock your socks off. No spice and your ribs have a juicy, flavourful bbq sauce. Fried rice was really good. The gado gado was slightly more watery than I like but better when mixed with some of the sauces. The iciest cold beer I’ve ever had, and each one after was just as refreshing. Wali and the team were amazing, very attentive and helped get us get a taxi for the way home and confirm the price so we didn’t have to haggle. I’d say the salsa dancing was unnecessary, and not really in keeping with the theme, the music kept cutting out and it was clear no customers wanted to join in when asked.

We had an absolute blast doing the cooking class at Warung Nia. We met at the restaurant and then took a short car ride to the local market where the chef walked us through a couple stalls and explained various fruits, vegetables and other Indonesian specialties (how offerings are made each day etc.) the chef was so welcoming and kind, and was very considerate, where the market may have seemed a bit overwhelming to some with all the new smells, heat and hustle of it all! But it was great to see and I likely would never have walked into the local market if we hadn’t done it as part of the class. Then we returned back to the restaurant (all ingredients were pre-prepared and bought so the market trip was purely educational) and worked through elements of multiple dishes under the guidance of the chef. We weren’t working off a recipe or anything like that, which meant we were able to try so many different cooking techniques across multiple dishes. It was very relaxed and we really got to enjoy the process and try food along the way, without feeling the pressure of needing to follow a recipe which is what some cooking classes in Australia can feel like. We got a truly authentic experience. At the end we got to eat all the dishes made which was a massive feast for the group! We got to meet some lovely people as part of our group as well which made the experience that much better. Huge thank you to everyone at Nia and specifically to Jim for being such a wonderful teacher and making us laugh the whole time! We’ll be recommending this class to any of our friends who come to Bali for their next holiday as a must do experience.

5 stars for food. Ordered the pork sate and mie goreng. Probably the best sate I’ve ever tasted. Loved the keropok and sambal that came along as well. The servers were really nice, friendly and seems to take interest of what we think about the food. One set back, there’s only outdoor dining. They mentioned the indoor (air-con) was spoilt. Maybe can get it fixed? Weather can be crazy hot especially after spending some time walking along the beach.

The food was fantastic! Loved the pork ribs and the sauce matches so well. Had the sticky rice dumpling for dessert and it is really good! The staffs and service were impeccable. They were so observant and kind to us, and can tell that they really do love children and took care of my kid and making sure he's alright with the food, not too spicy etc.

  • 5/5 Sam G. 1 year ago on Google
It’s located off the main roads so you wouldn’t find it easily just walking down the street looking for somewhere to eat but this place is worth finding as our experience was superb! You have to talk past another restaurant to actually get into the place. It’s a little weird how the set up is but the staff make sure to ask you if you are eating with them or not. The interior really doesn’t match the dated signage out front though. As it’s really nice and modern inside but the sign above the place looks very old and worn. Just little things. The food was quick, fresh and hot. I ordered the 250g ribs with fries, which was probably a little over a half rack of ribs and ordered them 8 spicy. I like spicy, a lot and these were probably my limit! So if you’re brave, go higher, I dare you!! Ribs fell off the bone and the flavour was fantastic. I tried my partners fried rice which was also great. Beers are ICE cold, I mean they have them chilled at 1.5-2 degrees and served in a coozy. Nice touch. Don’t miss out on the “best ribs in Bali” while in Seminyak!

Awesome ribs so soft and flavoursome with the accompany salad rice and chicken skewers tasty as though it were being cooked for you in a traditional Balanese home. Great work guys great attentive service which made us feel important. Brilliant prices also, back home in the UK the ribs alone for 6 would have been 350rps plus drinks and all the extras. Highly recommended place to enjoy quality food

I visited Warung Nia with my partner and a friend on 8 November 2023 for dinner, and we ordered the grilled ribs, fried chicken, and grilled fish respectively, which were followed up with an assortment of desserts after. I can confidently say that our meal at Warung Nia was among the best meals we had in Bali; everything about it was perfect, from the environment, ambiance, and service to the taste of each delectable plate on our table. If you're in Seminyak and you're looking through reviews, thinking about where to go for your next meal, you've definitely found the perfect place. I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in Bali. :)

I recommend the cooking class as an activity. The host was gracious enough to let us book on with a few hours notice. The class itself was great fun. We learnt about Balinese culture, history and cuisine. After the 3 hour class we all sat down for a feast. This was a memorable experience with the other participants. Thank you Tommy and team. They also cater to dietary requirements.

Embarking on the Balinese food cooking in Warung Nia class was an absolute delight! It was more than just learning to cook; it was a journey into the heart of Bali's rich culture and flavors. From the moment I stepped into the class, I was immersed in a world of vibrant spices, exotic aromas, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The knowledge and skills I gained during this culinary adventure were beyond my expectations. The chef's guidance and expertise and joke on time made every step of the process enjoyable and educational and with taste😈🧑‍🍳😋. From mastering traditional techniques to understanding the significance of each ingredient, it was an eye-opening experience. The highlight for me was of course teaching cooking, eating it and visiting the local market, a treasure trove of fresh and authentic ingredients. Exploring the market and learning about the produce that gives Balinese cuisine its unique taste was truly captivating. Once we began the cooking session, the magic truly unfolded. It was incredible to witness the transformation of simple ingredients into delectable Balinese dishes. The hands-on experience, the sizzle of the pans, and the aroma filling the air made every moment an absolute joy. It was international course with 3 tables full of people: Russia, Germany, Australia, China, France, UK, USA on one friendly atmosphere table! We become friends in the finish and share the contacts and all emotions! It’s so valuable! Overall, this culinary journey was not just about learning recipes; it was a cultural immersion that left me inspired and eager to recreate these flavors at home. I'm incredibly grateful for this enriching experience and the opportunity to delve into the world of Balinese cuisine! And thank you for receipts book and Diploma about graduation 👩‍🎓 of Balinese cooking course! Amazing 🤩 awesome A truly recommend everyone to try! Best wishes to your business, and to every tallest who will come there please Anastasia!

Came here early at 7pm for dinner. Luckily still got a few tables but almost full close to 8pm. They gave us complementary coconut dessert to start which was quite delicious. We ordered a mixed satay set, half pork ribs , with two drinks. And we would like to say everything tasted delicious. The grilled meat was very flavourful. The pork ribs was also very tender and tasty with a lot of meat. We were very full having all the meats but it was so satisfying. I was a bit worried at first seeing some bad reviews but I’m so glad I came. The price was reasonable and service was also friendly. Would come again if I come to Bali again.

A little gem hardly spot by others, There was only a small sign to show Nia Warung, so you better google it, where it just right beside the main road. For the food I would rate it 9/10, we ordered two sets of sates, each cost less than 100K RP, and all of them are delicious, especially the chicken and pork sates! High recommend for if u want try some authentic Balinese food !

Excellent choice for an authentic Indonesian meal, packed full of flavour. The satay and rib options are a must try. The cocktails were nothing much but the food made up for that.

It may not have much frills in terms of atmosphere, but it more than makes up for it in it's flavorful barbeque. My partner and I ordered the Balinese Grill Set A for two in order to sample a lot of their dishes. At first we were worried it would be too much food, but after just a few skewers of the amazing satay we instantly wanted to order some more.

Excellent food. This restaurant has outdoor as well as indoor seating ( AC available). Staff is super friendly and explains all the items in the platter. It also gives cooking classes. Pork ribs and chicken curry platter highly recommended. Best pork ribs ever tried.

Beautiful restaurant. Great service, good food and super nice atmosphere. I was shocked by surprise when I entered the place and the whole staff welcomed us, it was pretty epic, I love it though. They serve quite a lot of food options and you can get traditional Balinese dish as well. Price was good and definitely worth to visit when you’re in Bali.

Just had lunch here. It was excellent. Even though they really push their pork dishes, we opted for vegetarian and chicken and it was delicious. The Mrs wants to come back for dinner.

What is the squid grilled? But the staff are so kind I'm sorry to give you only 3 stars. Not bad but not the best. Peanut sauce of satay was not good, as also fish satay was not great and the smoothies didn't have a strong taste. Coconut pancake was really good though! Very friendly service

Lovely place with live music in the eve. Don't be confused, it looks like an expensive fancy hotel restaurant but is more like the food court area of the flea market nearby. Had the Balinese Rijstafel Set A (its for two and cost about 130 rupees). It was quite nice and enough for us. Had a lovely long chat with one of the waitresses about Indonesian cuisine and culture. Really nice and relaxed people!
