My boyfriend and I booked two nights at The Slow as a new year treat during our stay in Canggu and we weren't disappointed. Our suite was large and stylish. All the furnishings are very high quality and the shower is spacious. The team at The Slow are helpful and accommodating. We were given a lovely welcome drink and they carried our very heavy suitcase up and down two flights of stairs. They even turned down the bed when we were out at dinner, a nice touch. All the plugs are international, so you don't need an adapter and there are fast USB points either side of the bed. You can also play the music from the bar in your room and there was always a great playlist on the go. The Slow is really central, close to all the shops, restaurants & bars - would 100% recommend.

The Slow used to be amazing. The rooms are still excellent, but the service has gone way down hill. I really hope that the new management can bring the restaurant and bar back to its former amazingness. If you’ve been here before, it’s a little disappointing and tired now. The coffee and breakfasts weren’t worth the price, the staff didn’t know how to make basic cocktails on the menu and the whole vibe is gone.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. It's beautiful, the design, furnishings, artwork etc is spectacular, inspiring and has the wow factor. However, it's style over substance, which would be fine were it not so expensive to stay here! The first room I stayed in had a private pool which was fabulous - but the room itself was very dark and there was no sun on the pool at all, which I think should have been made clear. It's beautiful but not functional - it was more like having a giant bath tub than a private pool as you can't sit out by it. Then there was a mix up with my booking - at their end - and I was contacted pre arrival to ask if I'd mind moving to a second room for my final night of a 3 night stay. Not great, but I agreed because at that stage it was really my only option - and mistakes happen - I figured they'd look after me. They did not!! The transfer to the second room was handled badly. I had to check out of the first room at 10am and couldn't get into the new room until 2pm - but I paid full price, so I ended up with several hours with no room (on top of the hassel of unpacking, re-packing and unpacking again) having paid for a 3 night stay. There was no consideration of the fact this was their mistake, not mine. When I eventually got to the new room there was no pool access at all. This had not been made clear. I knew there was no private pool but I had no idea that meant no pool at all! There was no mention in the request to change rooms that this meant no pool access. If this was a budget or mid-range hotel I wouldn't mind these things - but this is an expensive luxuary boutique hotel. They described the second room as The Grand Suite - but its actually smaller than the Pool suite, and it's not a suite at all, it's just a double room. I have been SO disappointed. The rooms are beautifully designed - but they are dark, and whilst the seating looks great it's not comfortable all! It's all style over substance. This hotel prides itself on their curated music in every room, but it's nothing special, you get the same music everywhere in Canggu, and after a while I had to switch it off as it just got annoying! For the price you pay here I DO NOT recommend it! Finally, the reviews I read before booking were all about the great vibe. There was ZERO vibe! The bar/restaurant were empty most of my stay. I'm sure this is due to COVID, and I feel terrible for them that this has happened. However, most of the bars around are thriving, full, great atmosphere - The Slow was empty. Something just didn't feel right, it suggests there is a bigger issue at this place.

Very nice atmosphere but the food choice and portion were really disappointing, poor seasoning with not much taste. With that price, there are better places elsewhere in the area. Would recommend here only if you are looking for a nice place to take pictures and chill, instead of food

Stayed at The Slow for 4 nights in August 2022, shortly after they re- opened. Regardless of the bar and restaurant still not being open yet (bummer 😢), we decided to stay at The SLOW (we waited for 3 long years… ) since we had it already booked back in 2019 pre- pandemic with a voucher to be redeemed… The airport pick up service by Putra was top and the ride to the hotel very smooth… (both kids fell asleep immediately ☺️) The welcome at the hotel was very warm. We asked for room No 4 (at the back of the building!) and our wish came true….🙏 The rooms (we looked at various different ones when we were there) are simply perfection. The design is exactly how we would built our home… super clean shic, yet very cosy… Love the artwork! The pool suite is worth the extra money, since you can take a break from the busy Canggu vibe or after a long day on the beach (just a short stroll down the very busy road) Cleanness was also very good and they provided beach towels. The restaurant was still closed with definitely took some of the cool vibe - we could only imagine what a cool and fun place this must be when up on running. They plan to re-open on Sep 1st , 2022. The Slow team is really great! Thank you for the magic, guys!🙏

Loved the food at their restaurant when I visited 4 years ago and patiently waited for them to reopen after COVID. However when I visited again last week, the menu had changed and food was just not up to standard and below average. Service was also so bad the restaurant had barely 3 tables of people but we had such a hard time getting a waiter because they all seem to just disappear?? Only the bartender was there mixing drinks and he had to come to us because there was literally no other staff around. Terrible experience and will not return.

Went here for breakfast. I was disappointed by the food quality and portion size for the price. The coffee was served in mugs that had stains on them. The buns were stale and the tomato chunk was hard to cut with the blunt knife. The ongoing repairs didn't add to the experience. Overall underwhelming.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful pool villa, ultra luxe and the staff make this a must stay spot for Canggu. Super central and on the main drag. Can’t wait to come back in December ❤️

LOVE this place. I stayed right across the street of them so every morning I popped by for breakfast and coffee. Also one afternoon I worked from here and had lunch. All so good - honestly my best breakfast ever here in Bali!! Delicious sourdough bread, tomatoes and eggs. The service super good, so friendly and they knew me already after 1 day. Loved this, made me feel super welcomed and at home.

This review is for our stay at the slow suites. We had a really amazing stay at the grand suite - it is beautiful and extremely spacious. The bed is comfortable and staff are lovely and helpful. I love that you’re able to switch the aircon off and use the room’s ceiling fan instead for more ventilation, and if you’re always feeling cold in hotel rooms like I do! One thing I must say though is that the street and construction noise can get a bit loud - think the windows aren’t really soundproof, but they do provide ear plugs so that should help! Location is amazing too - many cafes around and easily accessible to guardian too if you need basic supplies. Will definitely stay again if we visit canggu.

Absolutely beautiful. The rooms were stunning, the service was amazing and the people were so lovely, friendly and attentive. The food was so yum! I crave their mi goreng noodle dish all the time! Great location and central to all places in Caangu.

Very neat and beautiful place to eat. Staff were very kind to let us eat even though we arrived at 21:30 for dinner. Food was great and the architectural design of the place was very trendy

Cocktails are weak and don't deserve the 145k price tag, but this place has a cool art gallery and rooftop.

Great location , kind staff, average experience. We felt like we were at a once great hotel that lost its way. When we booked we were told there was a hotel pool only to arrive and discover only the ground floor rooms had plunge pools. (Note :it’s easy to access other hotel pools nearby) We had to move rooms on Saturday night as they had a roof top DJ right next to our suite. Given there were only 3 people watching a guy pump out deep house we suggested they use the beautiful bar area downstairs as there was no bar or toilets on the roof top and hotel guests wouldn’t be impacted. The staff revealed they had not thought about the noise ?? However they did receive complaints from every guest in the 12 room hotel. We spent an hour talking to the day manager about possible improvements as she was concerned about the service levels. With a little bit of finesse and passion from the new owners the SLOW could easily regain its place in Canguu.

Great spot for hangout and see high quality art. 10-24 June 2023 CHROMABLUE Cyanotype print Exhibition of 17 local and International artists showing their hand printed photographs. If you are in the area, pop in enjoy cold drink or two and meet new people.

Got our order wrong (twice) and ironically given the name of the venue it took 45mins to make 4 coffees and some cut up fruit. Living up to their name I suppose. Expensive too. Avoid for breakfasts.

The Slow is a beautifully designed boutique hotel right on one of Canggu's main roads. It's an up-and-coming neighborhood with plenty of new restaurants, bars, cafes, spas and yoga studios within a 5-15 minute walk. The Slow is the perfect location to base yourself for several days if you're looking to vacation or work out of Bali. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained with lots of international standard sockets (although they don't come with desks or TVs, and only a couple of suites have pool access). If you need to work, the cafe on the ground floor is spacious and quiet, with lots of seating and tables for working, reading or relaxing any time of day. They also have a good menu of snacks and great cocktails (check out the negronis). Lastly, the staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating to our every request. It made for such a relaxing, homey experience. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Great food, service and attention to detail throughout the dining experience. Cocktails were good but not outstanding (as pretty much everything else was) for the price - seemed like singles where cost would easily justify doubles.

This place is amazing. I wish we have a place like this back home. The restaurant is very well designed. The vibe is chill. The service was wonderful. And the food was great. It made eating healthy so easy as everything was delicious and pleasing to the senses. The prices are very reasonable too, especially considering the quality.
