I really don’t understand how this place have so high rating. First of all…the dishes are served cold cold. The rice was really hard, unsalted and cold. The rendang beef was hard and too much chewy and cold. The honey chicken was tasty but really hard and cold. The boiled eggs were too much boiled (grey on the inside). Vegetables were cold and the shrimp crackers were old (not crunchy but like bread). If you like cold served food what should be served warm…go ahead but otherwise don’t even try.

Nice place. Delicious local food. In addition to the typical rice and pasta, there are also fried potatoes and eggs. You can order a set or form a plate of your choice. The cost of lunch will be about 20-50K rupees. I also liked that the warung is very neat and well-groomed, it's nice to come here again and again.

Clean, fancy and upscale warung concept in famous canggu area. Serve various protein, side dishes and veggies indonesian warung style. Taste quite nice. They charge IDR 2K for sambal options, and sadly it comes with a super small portion, i guess only one teaspoon portion. Free drink water on a glass bottle, which quite good. Free kerupuk/crackers. Open at 10 am, not an option breakfast spot for early riser.

Great local food! I think it is really good that there are still local entrepreneurs in a touristic Canggu. Food was great, price was reasonable as well. Point of improvement from my perspective is to invest in some microwaves to be able to serve a warm plate.

Ordered for take away today and the price felt completely off in comparison to what we paid a couple of days ago when dining in. I paid 84k for 1xportion of vegetables, 1xshredded chicken, 1x soy chicken and pepper beef. When we asked about the pricing, they explained it’s because of the extra veggie portion. The taste was overall still okay, but the portion (as shown in the picture) felt like a ripoff. Don’t get takeaway and get there early if you want to have a decent amount of choices.

During our 4-day-stay in Canggu we went to get dinner at Warung Local twice because we loved the concept and the food. Everything tasted really fresh and there were so many options to choose from so that there’s definitely something for everyone. Also, the prices are really cheap and still the quality is really high. The staff was really friendly and the place is really cute, especially for getting a quick dinner. I highly recommend trying the Tempeh Satay. :)

Overrated food, in a clean and comfortable environment that panders to the tourist crowd. The food was lukewarm, and placed in unheated trays, similar to a bad school canteen / cai png stall. The restaurant offered complimentary free-flow of garlic crackers which were rather light, and airy. However, they were inconsistent - some contained hard bits of uncooked batter. Made - 1 Chicken, 1 Side, 2 Vegetable 🐔 Ayam Kecap, Chicken with sweet soy sauce (1/5) - Dissapointingly cold, dry, and tough chicken cubes coated in a sweet glazing. 🍟 Vegetable fritters (1/5) - Although this was taken out straight from the kitchen, it was cold, hard, and very oily. Not at all crispy or airy. Fritters contained a mixture of vegetables such as celery, carrots, and garlic. 🌿 Pumpkin Curry (3/5) - Pumpkin might be a mistranslation, as it is closer to a gourd. The pumpkin was soft, tender with a light bite. Curry sauce is milky, and mildly sweet. 🌿 Jackfruit Rendang (3.5/5) - The best tasting dish. Jackfruit had a meaty bite, similar to pulled pork. It was marinated with aromatic spices such as turmeric which made the rendang flavourful. The second best thing I had was my refreshing coconut drink. Restaurant provided ice as it wasn't cold, and the thoughtful service had it packed into 2 cups for takeaway. My experience was slightly redeemed by their attentive service.

I stayed in uluwatu for almost 2 weeks, i felt so home sick! There is hard to find indonesian or local food. As indonesian living in jakarta i know exacly the best taste indonesian food like and what i expected to be. Warung local is THE BEST ONE! IN ULUWATU!!! I came here every lunch and dinner time! The food is amazing! Price? Is cheap!

Absolutely love this place. Plenty of options (meat and vegetables) to choose from and they make it very straightforward where you can just pay for what you order. Card and cash are accepted. Takeaways and dine in welcome. Affordable pricing too, about 27,000 for 3 vegetable dishes and noodles.

I love their choices of carbs, what I chose was obviously the red rice since it’s my favorite one! and they have many options for vegetarian, vegan, or even regular choices of side dishes as well! This type of Indonesian dishes which is called Nasi Campur looks more sophisticated since the variant of side dishes taste has both Indonesian and Western, in my opinion. Yet they’re yummy!

The food is absolutely amazing. Especially if you are working out. There is a large selection of food and they even have brown rice. The only issue is the lack of space. I have witnessed fights here just because there isn’t enough space to sit down during the busy times like lunch and dinner and you are not allowed to reserve tables until after you pay. There is obviously a gap in the market here. Hopefully some entrepreneur will take this concept and open more branches.

Like its name, this restaurant offers local Indonesian dish that most of local Indonesian eat anywhere around the country. Even the way you choose the dish is similar to other local warungs, where you point your fingers to the dishes you want to eat inside the glass box. There are many variety of foods & vegetables that you can choose. You can also order a fresh coconut water. The foods are hygiene & taste incredibly good even for local Indonesian like me :) Recommend for sure.

Decent options but the food weren’t warm. Everything was cold as it’s just been sitting there, which is like most warungs I guess. Flavors weren’t what we expected and were disappointed given the great reviews it has. I wouldn’t specially make a trip out to give it a go. More of trying it if you’re passing by. Busy throughout the day, we had late lunch, roughly 3pm and tables were full. Appreciated the clean tables tho :)

They’ll literally stop traffic for you if needed. The work hard and in the Bali sun all day to make sure there is enough space for all the scooters. The guys always have a smile and a high five for us when we arrive. And if you’re not great at parking, they’ll align your scooter for you. The team at the food counter are amazing. Welcoming always, and if they’re in the middle of changing the dishes for fresh ones they’ll let you know how long it will be. The food is just amazing. Local and true to the Balinese food style, with some dishes catering to the western tastebuds, but still in a Balinese style. Come here to try something different or new. As vegan and plant based couple we are always happy that they also have some dishes for us to eat as well. I’m a huge fan of the curry tofu, the fresh ice cold coconuts, the spring rolls and the peanut sauce! Before I even walk in, I’m asked what I’d like for my Wayan - my usual order. Now that’s attention to detail. Before my current profession I worked around the world in hospitality and lemme tell you, the team at Warung Local have a handle on things, even more so, then some of these new sparkly places around Canggu. We feel welcome, cared for and calm in this space. If you’re thinking of dinner I will note that at 7pm the place is FULL, and there is usually a line out the door. We find a nice brunch at 11:30am is a great time to visit. 🍌🥕🍉 They also have a selection of other dishes and drinks, just check out the menu when you walk in. Yes it has character. Often tables are shared. You order before you sit down and you can watch the street life go on, as you eat. It’s always entertaining let me tell you. I can’t believe how many positive review they have that are nicely photographed… do they trade in their taste buds for nice cameras? Every part of the food tastes disgusting, maybe the best part is their rice and spinach…. all the meat and tofu is badly seasoned overly sweet… with terrible texture. Go to Warung Bu Mi/ Varuna/ Sika , literally anyplace for human food, oh, yeah btw. This place is more expensive too….

So good. For 45k i got a protein, 2 veges and 2 side dish (with rice of course). Tastes great too, homemade feeling. The place is clean and well designed.
