Came here with almost no expectations because our brunch place was packed, and we didn't want to wait forever. First impression was good, we liked the view, lovely lovely green paddy fields. Food taste, need major improvement. Service wise, ok acceptable as you were understaffed. Price wise was decent, it's not expensive and not cheap, fair price for me. To other reviewer, Please don't compare the price with the dumplings you had back in China or Taiwan, that's not fair and will just make you sound ridiculous. Conclusion. The pros : 1. Gorgeous paddy fields view. 2. Extensive menu of dumplings. 3. Also the drinks menu, thank you alcohol, thank you healthy drinks, and thank you tea. 4. Food appearance and presentation : great. 5. There's a few promotion going on and they look fantastic. 6. Clean and cozy seatings. 7. WiFi works very well. 8. Hand wash station is clean, I didn't check the toilet though. 9. 2 parking spots for car, yay and many spaces for bikes. 10. Affordable price range. The cons : 1. Open air restaurant so please come early or late, because 11 am was scorching hot. 2. All the staffs were friendly and quite attentive. But service needs improvement, I waited for them to change my plate but I understand you guys were understaffed but you charge 5 percent for service charge so I expected more. 3. Taste : please please improve. Xiao long bao skin was a major fail, it's thick and leaking. Hint : XLB skin is made using several mixture of flours. Try making your own aspic and not using ready made gelatin. Also please provide ginger so we can have it with black vinegar. We ordered other dumplings and same problem existed, and one set was even over steamed. As for the mala, mala uses Sichuan peppercorns hence that where it gets the name and signature, but your mala stir fry had no sichuan peppercorns at all, so disappointing and so sad because I think this place still has so many potential. Hope on my next visit the taste and service hv improved. Cheers!

Pretty much paying for the ambience here. It's a nice play to sit, relax and enjoy the view. The music choice is good, I enjoyed the cricket orchestra and the sound of the wind as well. The food itself is overpriced in my wallet's opinion. Ordered dumplings and baos, tasted good but I don't think the price point is justified (maybe if it's 10-20k lower per menu). The staff are nice but we arrived an hour before closing, so they're rushing everything which is understandable. It's a place for social media.

We came across this place by chance. From the outside it looks relatively inconspicuous, but if you go inside you will find a large terrace with a great view of a rice field. The restaurant is also stylishly decorated. This gives you a wonderful atmosphere. The selection of dumplings and other dishes is large. We opted for 5 different varieties of which one was better than the other. Definitely the best dumplings we have had so far. You could definitely taste that they were freshly prepared (which is not a given with dumplings). In addition, we had two teas that were also recommended. The staff is courteous and friendly, making you feel very welcome. All in all, we were totally thrilled with the restaurant. Anyone looking for outstanding food should come here. The prices are justified for the quality of the food.

Always LOVE the food at Sista! I'm Chinese and based in Bali - whenever I'm missing food from home I stop by. My favorites are the healthy steamed and sichuan spiced dishes, and they sell amazing sauces too! The presentation is always awe-inspiring and the staff are literally the best. So far this place has various best dumplings in town! My favourite is prawn and lobster dumpling! It has thin skin and juicy filling. The fluffy steamed bun with sweet braised pork belly filling is my second fav. What I don’t like about this restaurant is it was so hot 🥵 to be there at lunch time even they provided fans. *come again for dinner and had their family package. It’s super big menu for around 3-4 people. The price is so so affordable and all the dumplings are delicious. 👍🏽

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Bali. We are Singaporean Chinese, mainland Chinese, Malaysia Chinese and Indonesian. We like here cause it has good location, very multi cultural dynamic, most importantly is the food! Its a bit like Cantonese style but also some fusion from mainland China. Its very convenient to share with friends and have a fun time here chilling in front of the rice field. I'd like to recommend to my friends.

The best Xia Long Bao so far imo. The staff was great and attentive. It's out door venue/non ac but they have fans to keep out the humidity. Plenty of spaces but it gets busy on dinner time (when we were there). Definitely a place to go to if I want some delicious dumplings.

I had been to China and eat xiao long bao there. And I gotta say, the xiao long bao here is either the same or even better than the one I had in China, their dumplings and ramen are also so good. Highly recommend this place! 👍🏻

Wasn’t expecting too much just from first glance, however once you walk in off the street the small shopfront opens up and transforms into a beautifully rustic space overlooking a rice field. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and drinks served. They specialise in dumplings (and are very good at these) but have plenty of other options also. Overall it’s hard to fault. Go have a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Delicious, (not better than China of course), big variety, but a little overpriced, well overpriced. Location is very nice, service can improve a little bit some waitress didnt know the difference between the frozen and cooked one. overall can go back not all of them are wooow but few of them taste super delicious. still 55k for 5 pcs you decide if it is worth or not. However this was the closest taste to China i had in Canggu area so far. need to try more.

a very famous dumpling place in Canggu area, near baked. you can have variety of dumplings overlooking the rice paddy fields. try dumpling sampler to taste every bit of it. they provide soy sauce, vinegar and mala chili oil on the table. and they are so generous with the portion of beverage. you will get almost 1 litre of iced tea.

I came here to try the dunpling and mala. To be honest the dumpling is something else, out of the world. The taste is great, you can feel the fillings of it clearly. The mala soup tastes a little bit blant ( less salty ) but the aroma is there , and not too strong, that's good. Now let's jump to the downside. For mala soup, the restaurant policy requires you to minimum order 4 ingredients , one from the meat , one from the veggies, one from the carb (noodles/dumpling/else) , and one other thing you should select from those option. You can't order just 3 ingredients. I was eating alone and to be honest the portion is okay , probably 4 ingredients may be a little bit too much for someone who is eating alone. The drinks are expensive, i mean , really , no drinks are cheap ( at least for the local budget ). One soup , and one drink , costs me 220k ( This is expensive for eating alone at an average restaurant ). The place is great, a little bit small on the outside , but big on the inside , and have a great view of rice field from the tables. Also you can see the dumpling making process outside near the cashier. Conclusion : would not come here again to have a meal , but might recommend for special occasions.

Tiny and cozy place, for sure the best XiaolongBao in Bali, now they have six different flavors. Also the dumplings are great, I love the one with pork and celery. Noteworthy are the salty duck egg noodles, delicious. I found the shrimp wonton slightly dry, but my wife found them good. Book in advance, as it's always packed, the place fills up relatively quickly. Just a little downside, it seems to me they use MGM for some filling.

Even though this street is full of a wide variety of restaurants, Sista Dumplings should not be missed. The Xiaolongbao which is a soup dumpling is the speciality and is definitely recommended. Although none of the Asian cousine is disappointing. The waiters are well informed and are helpful in recommending you a dish. The ambiance is nice and much better than what it looks from outside.

What an absolute gem 💎 Have been twice now to Sista dumpling after stumbling upon it one afternoon looking for some light eats. I can say this is one of my favourite places in Canggu, the food is delicious and service was excellent. Good cocktails well priced beers and the most beautiful balcony to relax and look out over the rice paddies. Highly recommend, will be revisiting again before I leave this week for more of those hand stretched noodles!🍜

Great hearty neo-Chinese but the beef items tasted strange. Most of the food was amazing - the xiao long bao was insanely good - but the beef dumplings had a strange texture. Definitely worth going over and over again to decide on their winners. Service was a bit slow, but friendly and the place was packed so it was understandable.

Went here and ordered their promo menu consist of 6 dumplings. Our first impression was “...” because the dumplings looks a bit different than what we expected. The skin of the dumplings was hard to chew. I personally feel, maybe we wasn’t lucky choosing this promo menu. Then we’re not sure to add other menu. In terms of the space and the interior design, the place was beautiful. Rice paddy view is definitely the star of this place. Definitely on the expensive side but honestly was worth it. You can see the food being prepared in the kitchen and the view of the rice fields is easy on the eyes. This is our second visit to Sista, good food and wonderful atmosphere. I come by car and it can be very difficult to find parking spot. Lucky I got one right in front of Sista. Hope they have valet service in the future.

Perhaps it might be that I’ve had dumplings pretty often back in SG. I could tell the difference on what’s good. Here’s some things I’ve noticed that I hope will be constructive for the team: 1. Laksa - tasted like lontong, lacked herb spices for flavouring and by right it the soup shouldn’t be too diluted 2. any dumplings with chicken meat - it feels that the chicken is boiled for too long so it’s very soggy and it easily falls apart. Pork on the other hand, is pretty tight and tender so it’s chewy and good. 3. In-house sauces - Mala sauce itself is pretty decent! Vinegar is a little diluted, can potentially use a stronger black vinegar OR white vinegar would go well, though that may be a little too strong and usually goes with gyoza 4. A place with a wide range of selection for Dim sums, especially dumplings. We ordered the family dumplings so we could try different kinds of dumplings and most of it were good. Although I would say they were a bit cold and dumplings are usually served hot when it does arrive on your table. A plus point for the restaurant is its tables that are facing the rice fields, eating dumplings while having a view of a rice field turns out to be cozy. It also took awhile for our food to come out so when you are really hungry maybe it is not the place for you. A good experience overall.

We ordered a lot of different dumplings and kung pao chicken & prawn. None of the dumplings were really good and convincing. The kung pao chicken & prawn (got literally 1 prawn) was okay, but not the og flavor that I like and the rice was too wet. It's a big no for me if you can't even cook your rice properly. Hello we're in Indonesia, not Germany. The view is definitely a big plus and the drinks were pretty good.

This is probably my fave new spot in Canggu, super fast wi-fi, cozy place, friendly staff, and really dependable dimsums (which is a very good food to have while working because its easy to eat while you’re typing away on your laptop).
