My husband and I are big fans of Omakase, and Sushi Koen exceeded our expectations! Impressive presentation, well-balanced flavors, and the nigiri practically melted in my mouth. Delightful way to end a day of snorkeling in Bali.

Utterly disgusted. If you are looking for a classy sushi omakase experience then save your money and go elsewhere. It's overpriced sushi train using expensive ingredients and a fancy decor. The service was horrendous with staff chatter as I was trying to enjoy the omakase experience. I went for the koen omakase (most expensive) and was told that the sea urchin was out and they would replace it with foie gra which I was fine with but they combined it with the ootoro which completely overpowered the ootoro (fattiest and most expensive cut of the tuna). During the course they said that the a5 wagyu was out which was not mentioned at the beginning. If that had been said then I would've opted for the 2nd highest omakase without the expensive cuts. After some confusion among the staff they said that the sea urchin was replaced with akami (an inexpensive cut of the tuna that can be found at any food court sushi) and the wagyu was replaced with the foie gra that was combined with the ootoro. After showing my dissatisfaction they offered a complementary wagyu and foie gra which they said earlier that it was out! If you brave this place then be extremely careful with what they offer. Go through each individual ingredient with them before agreeing. I would've been okay with this whole mess but the asking price nessitate fine dining quality which this was a very, very poor imitation of. For reference this compares to a general diner sushi in Japan.

This is for Sushi Koen … the place is nice inside and the salmon Sashimi was very good (5*), staff nice and friendly … but the rest was just ok for the pricing which is way too expensive. Maybe why it’s so quiet? Only had 1 beer on the menu (Sapporo) but no stock 🤔🙄… Sake ok .. 300ml for 450k++

Omakase experience you will never forget! All the seafood are freshly from japan. The place is so comfy and the staff are great.

The only good thing we had was some of the nigiri at sushi platter, lovely ratio of rice to fish. But other than that, NOT recommended. For the price you pay, Sushi Koen brags of high end ambiance and top quality Japanese standards but this is definitely not the case. Service is very lacking, servers do not know when to clear a table or notice small details. You can also tell how good a Japanese restaurant is by their tamago and they very much failed. Their tamago is an insult to Japanese cuisine as it basically taste like sugar mixed into scrambled eggs. Their otoro is very low quality, like many restaurants in bali, it’s lacking the fattiness and definitely not from Japan as they claim it to be. Their chefs are not very experienced too as you can tell by how slow they were slicing through the raw fish. Very disappointed, you’re better off paying and dining at Indigo in Berawa.

The place is modern classic with taste of Asian and European. It has cozy atmosphere. If you are looking from the street, you only see a building mostly covered by green plants. But then, you follow the route to the door of the restaurant; nevertheless, you could find another route that leading you to the bar behind the restaurant. The food is good. The restaurant offers Indonesian, European and western food. I love the interior of glass houses the most. The sunshine coming through the glass and make the place warmer and full of bright. The restaurant staff are really friendly. The service is also good. The price is quite expensive. Make sure you do reservation before coming.

Their food is exquisite and reasonably priced! The decor of the interior is fascinating! The only reason I didn't give it a 5* is because their cakes though they looked good, were a let down. For food, a must try is their salted egg yolk pasta with prawns and their Earl grey tea with honey is really good! In short, go with an appetite but dessert when it's time for dessert 😉

We came around 2 pm and were notified that omakase only for dinner but after we met with the chef, he was being very kind to us and allowed us to do the omakase with bar seating. It was a great experience for all 4 of us, the starter salad was very appetizing and the foie gras chawan musi kicked it up a notch. After that we were severed the 9 nigiri courses, the engawa and the dry aged mackerel were the main stars for us. Thanks to all the staffs and chef for being very friendly to us and providing us with such an outstanding experience

I ordered the kyoshi omakase here and the price is pretty reasonable with what you get. It started off with a salad. The gomae dressing was really good. The chawamushi with fois was delicious. The nigiri quality wasn't the best, mainly because the rice was not made right. The grain was a little mushy, not much rice vinegar flavor and it wasn't warm. They did say that this omakase only has a few pieces that are imported and the rest are local. I think the more expensive omakase would have better quality nigiri. The matcha pudding was amazing! It had the perfect consist and sweetness. Of course the service is incredible. Overall great value for your money.

It was a great experience eating at Sushi Koen, the service was great. Had the Hanshi's Omakase and it was beautifully presented, tho didn't had the chance to sit in front of the chef himself but i do felt the love and passion he put into the dish itself. Especially the Otoro, it was *chef's kiss* perfection, it just melted in my mouth. I never thought a simple dish can be that delicious. I would definitely come back and make more memories and try different sets and menus.

Probably one of the best spots for sushi. Not too many people. There is parking for cars as well Nothing for kids in menu. So be ready for it.

Amazing Japanese food here. Lovely venue and staff and everything we picked off the menu was a winner. It is definitely pricier and would be a special occasion for sure but if you are in Bali and want that special place this would be a sure candidate PS to the venue you need to fix or redirect the AC at the far end against the window because including ourselves 3 couples asked to be moved during dinner service - (it's good that the AC is that powerful in Bali but just turn it down a tiny bit...)

Sooo in loveee with this place. Love how they decorate the place with cute lampions on the walls , the colored gothic windows gave myterious aura yet inviting. The music blend well with the whole set up. And the attention to small details are very well thought, the chopsticks and table setting is match with the theme of this place. Koen in japanese means Garden and they print fish and flowers on their table mat which represent little things that you can discover in the garden. The hanging low dim light adding up the sense of romantic and relaxed senses. Food wise is a bit pricey but its worth with the experience. You can choose to sit at the sushi bar or on the table. Nasi goreng seafood was having nasty unfresh seafood smell, with the cracker being not crispy at all. The chicken tenders has no flavor. The trotters were not that recommendable as well. The chicken wings were probably best with its seasonings. We came during lunch and the aircon didnt seem like it was working at all and their portable air cons were not movable. We were advised to sit in the glass house under direct sun if we want to be directly blown by the portable air con. The whole place was stuffy without air flow. Besides that, on a sunday lunch, there were no truffle for truffle fries. There was no prawn for prawn aglio olio. And no coconut for the hot day to go with too. Paid a premium for only the look of the restaurant but without the proper ambience or food to enjoy. We left in sweat and dissappointment despite tonnes of request for the aircon. Highly not recommendable if you are a foodie like me.
