🚨🚨 My experience at Crate Cafe in Canggu was far from satisfactory. My friends and I ordered 2 smoothie bowls and took a seat at the tables like everyone else. Little did we know that it would turn into a painfully long wait. We waited for almost an hour before our smoothie bowls finally arrived, and during that time, everyone else at our table had already received their breakfasts, including dishes like eggs, avocado toast, and more. The service was incredibly slow and disorganized, leaving us feeling neglected and frustrated. It was disheartening to watch other diners enjoy their meals while we just sat there, hungry and waiting for our simple smoothie bowls. We expected a smoothie bowl to be a quick and refreshing option, but the wait time was unacceptable. Even when our orders finally arrived, the food was disappointingly mediocre. The smoothie bowls lacked the freshness and vibrant flavors we anticipated, making the entire experience feel underwhelming. We had heard great things about Crate Cafe, especially in the popular area of Canggu, but our visit left us questioning the hype. Considering the abundance of amazing dining options throughout Bali, spending our time and money at Crate Cafe was definitely a regrettable decision. There are plenty of other establishments in Canggu that offer outstanding food and efficient service, making this cafe fall short in comparison. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Crate Cafe to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience in Canggu. The slow service, lackluster food, and overall disappointment make it clear that there are far better places to visit in the area.

Really delicious food. Coffee was okay. Ordered Pack a Punch Superbowl salad. The plating, size and taste of the salad was amazing. Also had the Why So Cereal smoothie bowl. Also gorgeous and yummy. I ordered piccolo coffee & I think the cups too big for this drink so there was too much milk. Was really busy on a Saturday around noon. Could barely find a seat (just FYI bc you may want to go earlier to get a better seat). The seat we got was super hot under the umbrella & made it really hard to eat. If they add more fans it would make the experience amazing & I’d come back for sure!

I have been to crate many times, since back 2017 until present 2022, and i have never loved a place that much, the menu is delicious and nutritious! The set up of the place is spectacular, it’s connecting people which is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen in a café! The music and atmosphere are magnificent! Merry the owner is a very inspiring person who shines through the cafe every single day! Everyone from the staff are smiling, it’s just as addictive as it could be! I’d recommend this place for all kind of travelers/expats!

Had our breakfast here on our 2nd day visiting Bali. The breakfast vibes are awesome here 👏 We could see the place is full of visitors from all around the world 🌍 I love the "No Surcharge" "No Tax" "No Service Charge" policy here 👍 So we'll be just paying what's being shown on the huge board just beside the counter. Getting seats a bit challenger here because there are tons of people here. You'll just need to be a little bit more patient. But that's actually okay. Food taste okay, portion is huge, you can share with 2 for 1 portion (Subjective). Smoothies is great 👍 Coffee is great as well 👍 Will definitely recommend and worth visiying

Went here because of the rave reviews online, but was kinda disappointed. The coffee isn't much to talk about, and the waiters look bored and distracted, far from the friendliness in other similar places.

A very good and cozy place to have brunch, it's so spacious and unique, topped with good quality food (and also good portion!), fresh juices, and delicious coffee. My personal best is the barber (sweet french toast with bacon and egg topped with maple syrup), and the cold brew is also good... However, you should prepare yourself when it's raining because most of the seats are outdoors.

Cafe fit for Aussies pretty much! Really nice atmosphere, it can get abit warm with only fans above. Great food and best of all no taxes charged! Awesome menu, wish I was there long enough to try it all!

Such a disappointment . My firs visit was fine. I am okay here is hot and not such fancy interior, I think is cool and makes place special. Always bug line for ordering,of course bcs portions are huge and price so affordable. Smoothie bowl was good ,coffe okay ,cupcakes not tasty especially cream,low quality. BUT second time I went there,ordered avotoast and received dish on dirty plate as u can see this dish wasn’t clean after previous toast and they served me. Disgusting 🤢and the biggest disappointment that stuff do not understand what’s wrong after I showed them plate, they changed plate to paper box but of course I didn’t eat and lost my appetite. Incredible breakfast portions! The barber was phenomenal. The French toast was perfectly cooked. The banana was delicious and there was mountains of egg and bacon on top! The food here is incredible, the music is fun and the vibe is energetic. This is not a place to come and linger with your laptop, but it is one of the best breakfast I’ve had! The food was incredible and the price is great as it is a little bit away from the beach. You must come here if you’re in town

Delicious smoothie bowls with fresh ingredients. Their bakery is also tasty. Atmosphere is niche industrial, there are fans above, open-air space. They have people who cover the seats of your motorcycles with a “Crave” cloth to protect it from getting really hot as you eat. We thought this was a nice touch.

I felt this place is more about its story and vibe, rather than food. Food options are limited. Most of them are various kinds of toasts and salads. Salads come in huge bowls. The taste of food is Ok, but nothing special. The atmosphere is great though. Especially the pictures of the customers all over the place give a special vibe.

The atmosphere is not nice there, the staff thinks they be so cool, but rude and lazy. The place closes at 4pm, I arrived at 3pm and sat at an empty table but they told me to sit to another table in front of someone else because this table was closed.. it is really irresponsible to force people to sit next to each other during Covid time just because they want to be done with the cleaning work early.

The place is very good, first they have motorcycle parking which is very comfortable. The service is quite basic, they don't care about you but it's not bad, the food is spectacular, I've been to many brunches and without a doubt this is one of the best. The prices are very good, approximately between 6 and 7 euros. In conclusion, completely recommended.

This place is always crowded especially before the pandemic, we have to queue to order food ,, it's only because the delicious food with not expensive price and the portion is large, the view of the rice fields also adds to the comfort if you want to spend time chatting with friends ,, parking is quite spacious if you come by motorbike.

I ate here every day for 5 months. I’ll miss this cafe and this vibe. Guys, you are the best Salad with chicken - my favorite and the size is huge. Mafia pizza is delicious and Sambo toasts with chicken - perfect.

Loving this place in Canggu. It’s a communal dining place that is huge! It still have some rice paddy in the back area. Also it has indoor & outdoor seating area. Such a perfect place to just have a nice meal & to chill. Got the Dirty Chai, Fast Track (OJ), Why So Cereal smoothie bowl (frozen banana, cacao, PB + goodies), and Kiss (french toast, banana, strawberry, cinnamon & maple). All were just so good. And portion is huge! Totally loving it. Definitely will be coming back for more.

This place is very strategic in Canggu between Eco and Batu Bolong beach. And the portion is BIG enough for 2 persons. The Taste so yummy..no regret. The price so cheap for food and fair for the coffee. From try and become regular customer.. The staffs are friendly and always smile. Must try when you in Bali👍👍

Very yummy food! Waiters are super quick but you should come early as the cafe is always super crowded around 10am and later. Only negative point: the juice I ordered was way too thick like a smoothie. Not what I expect if I order juice.

we had breakfast here a few times and recognized that after 8am it starts to get crowded, and after 9am it is really really crowded. doesn’t matter what day it is of the week. Overall the atmosphere of the cafe is nice, it’s a large space but once again very crowded so if you’re not a fan of crowdedness and loud dining then definitely get there early everything we ordered from the beverages to the food was always delicious, and portions are incredibly generous for the price!

There are a lot of breakfast/brunch places in Canggu. Competition is strong. But Crate cafe did not disappoint. I had massive barber breakfast that had 2 big french toasts, big ommelet and bacon. it wasn't so sweet. Just perfect. I didn't think I could finish it but i did. My husband's meal was pretty good too.

I've been here twice, always coming for brunch after gym. My favorite menu is chick chick boom, big bowl portion of salad its enough for 2-3 peoples. during lunch it looks like a long queue but actually it's not. Eat here with the concept of sharing a table with others people.

All the portions here are big and filling. The food is even tasty! - frozen coffee latte: the reason why I cut back on a star. It was not worth 60K (added soy milk which is an additional 10K). There was no flavor so I had to add a lot of sugar. Too much shaved ice so you can barely taste the coffee. - smoothie bowl: I loved the smoothie bowl. It wasn’t too sweet and they added the perfect amount of peanut butter - pancakes: recommend! They were moist and the coconut whip cream was the cherry on top.

The gluten free bread is so good - I was in love with the French toast (The Barber)! In the 2 weeks we were in Canggu, my husband and I came here every day. We tried lots of different dishes and they were all amazing! Also, the staff is super on top of it and does a great job even when things are really busy.

The price for value is absolutely amazing. Big portions and tastes good! Unfortunately my coffee was bitter/sour, not sure if the oat milk was still good🥴 I personally didn’t like the ambiance because its very loud. The music was so loud that I had to talk very loud to have a conversation and the whole area is just not too comfortable to sit for long. Its also very warm because of no AC. If you just want to get good food for a good price its perfect. Idk if I was unlucky with the coffee or they just don’t have a good one. My boyfriend got the cold brew and that one also wasn’t good. So maybe go for coffee somewhere else or have better luck than us for making the right choice 😂

I HAVE NEVER left any restaurant without finishing my whole plate. Both my wife and I left crate with without even finishing HALF of the plate! The owners should seriously re -think some things. 1- their bread in the Brekkie was so bad, so chewy with no flavor (No wonder saw many left their plates unfinished too) 2- It was so hot and the place is outdoor, that Literally some guests were shirtless, BUT the employees are mandatory to wear long jeans!!? Come on, Its Bali! Who wears Jeans!! poor staff were sweating! 3- Food quality overall was not Bali standards, the avocado, bread, eggs, and even other ingredients all felt tasteless. Ps. We came 3 morning in a row , it’s was amazing, I think this is the busiest restaurant I have seen in Bali, But this does not affect on waiting times that are too long… The food is very good and also the price’s is very fair for what you get.. They gluten free toast that was really good! And their salads are huge!

Love the space, especially in this pandemic (unfortunately) as it’s usually so packed with people that it’s hard to find a seat. The food is great and really affordable for the price and portion. The ingredients taste fresh, the style is innovation and presentation superb. Although I feel that the bread is not as good but overall, it’s worth for the price. I had a strawberry something juice but Juices can get abit too sweet. Remember to tell them to not add sugar when you order. I love the face that they use reed for straws!

Great selection of sweet and savoury feel good food. I got the tofu scrambled egg and it was great. There are many vegetarian and vegan options. Also the small desserts were nice. I got a vegan Snickers Cupcake. The prices are a bit western so you pay 5€+ for every real meal (Cupcake was 2,30€) but it is definitly worth a visit. I can highly recommend this place and will come back if I get the chance

I love this place so much! Super beautiful huge portions and cheap prices! Most of the items are 50-60k. Lots of options for fancy smoothies/drinks and food as well! However, I wouldn't recommend visiting if you are in a hurry, they take a while to get to your order when busy. Crate always had huge line ups before the pandemic :)

However not sure if they took out the salmon in few of their menus due to cutting cost or just it was out during that day. But will come back again for sure! Great place with open air concept. Can accomodate a lot of people since they have many tables for you with motorcycles and cars. The view is amazing and the food is even more amazing. It is definitely affordable with most of them is priced at 55k per dish. The portion of the dish makes it worth the price since they are so generous with their food and drinks. My favorite menu here would be The Barber and Benz Eggz. You can also try the juices, my friend got Surfs Up and it tasted so good but I would not recommend their Ice Latte. Definitely recommended for good food with great price.
