3/5 🌟. Great place to visit as this is the shrine of holy water. For those that plan to come here to get a blessing with holy water shower can bring your extra cloths here and there is rental locker available. The place separate into few sections with holy water shower, fish feeding and also praying place (For locals only). Just have to be aware of those ladies that will try to give you some banana before you enter to the shrine and they will hunt you to purchase if you took one of the banana earlier, so please do not take it. Next is the exit path way, the locals built it in such way that all tourist will have to go through the market beside the temple which they will do hard sales to you. I wish I could give this place a full five stars but just have to give extra cautions when visiting here.

Nice temple. You can definitely live the Balinese culture and experience the holy water blessing ritual. It is however a well-built tourist trap. The temple’s flow is built in a way that exposes you to both fruit selling ladies at the entrance and a labyrinth of touristy shops towards the exit. Both tourists and locals are welcome to go through the ritual, keep in mind the entrance fee is slightly higher for tourists. It is definitely worth visiting when exploring the neighboring sites, however I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit.

Beautiful and amazing temple from start to finish. They require you to wear a sarong to cover your legs but will lend you one for free if you don't have your own. You might want to consider hiring a guide to give you a guided tour to give you the history of the sites of the temple and help you to take photos as they know all the best angles and spots. They are not expensive and are worth it. There are lots of tourists there bathing in the holy water, we didn't have time to but I would have if we did. Really recommend this temple.

A sacred temple in this area with a holy spring for purifying the mind and body. The serenity atmosphere dominates when entering this place. A large beautiful koi pond was very attractive.

This sacred temple is a great place to experience the local religious practices on Bali. The locals are kind and open to sharing how to perform the cleansing rituals in the sacred springs. Note that not every spring is to be used, I recommend doing some research beforehand to understand which springs to use. The rest of the temple is beautiful, with dozens of stone statues, some 1000’s of years old.

This is a very spiritual place. You should take a local guide that will explain you what to do exactly in order to get the right experience from this place. They are volunteering but you give them donation at the end, as much as you want. My guide explain me the procedure of what to do and gave me the offerings you should give at the beginning. For me it was one of the spiritual experience I have ever had because I knew exactly what to do.

One of the main attractions at this Temple is to enter the baths and cleanse your mind and body. It is incredibly busy and you will need to allow time to get changed. You must dress appropriately (Sarongs are issued free of charge) This temple sit directly below one of the many presidential homes. So access to some areas are restricted should he be in residence. While they are historic and nice to view, I found there are far better temples to visit if you truly want to take away something unforgettable.

Busy, but worth seeing for the stonework and history alone. No entry fee. You can take a tour, or you rent a grab car with driver by the hour or day and save a lot of money and read an online guide while you go there. I suggest the latter. It's 1000 years old and the spring feeding the pool is amazing, and the purification ritual is an experience. Bring a towel and flip flops, as the changing room floor is not clean.

Holy temple for Balinese Hinduism. It's a place to cleanse yourself. The locker/changing rooms should be much cleaner. Also, stop with those tourist cleansing on days/times that locals are cleansing. Most of the tourist just want to do it for fun. Is has no meaning for them. But they get in de way and make the waiting time much longer.

This is a working temple where lots of locals come here for religious activities and take a cleansing bath. Very impressed to see the recent religious proceedings happening here which provides a glimpse into the Balinese local life. The holy water spring is beautiful!

Learned so much about the culture the temple has to offer. We were fortunate enough to experience it on the day the village was doing their ceremony. Absolutely beautiful how this place is constructed. The holy water comes from the spring and flows right out of the spouts where you can cleanse yourself. Put this place on your planner if you’re coming!

The 'Holy Water' temple is a popular name for this location. Only a few individuals will refer to this location as Tirta Empul Temple. This location also has a fish pond that you will appreciate. There are around 26 showers with various prayers. Many people think that it will rid you of negative energy and bring purity into your life. To have a better understanding of them, I recommend getting some information from locals. Because this is a sacred site, you must dress in long clothing to get access; otherwise, you will be required to wear certain extra materials, which are fairly common.

This place is probably more suited to people who are spiritually inclined. Nice temple but a lot of areas not open to the public. I didn't do the cleansing but it didn't look like a long wait to do so even though it was a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant looked like reasonable prices although nobody was eating. My main gripe about the place is that you are forced to exit through a long market section of very aggressive sellers. The money exchange shop was also closed.

It is absolutely worth the trip! Be patient and respectful to the people who are here to worship. Like all the other temples, there are free sarongs for your convenience, respect the culture you are experiencing.

Very nice place. You can take part of the water purification ritual if you want. And it is exactly how the locals do. There is a restaurant inside. The water you bath is from the Holy Spring just nearby. We don't wait to enter the gate, but if you want to take part of the water cleansing ritual it my take about 45 min (Early morning maybe no waiting time).

This was by far my favorite Hindu Temple that I've been too. Very nice place I did not do the cleaning pool thing. This is just my view but unless you practice the Hindu Religion their is no point to it. Your just in the way of the people who do practice that Religion. 05/08/2022

A truly serene environment. The temple is absolutely beautiful. The holy spring is wonderful. The koi fish (extremely well fed). The only drawback is the souvenir sellers you need to pass on exit. I understand the need for these Balinese stallholders to make a living but we just felt a little intimidated upon exiting such a peaceful environment.

One of the most famous water temples in Ubud. You can sign up to be a part of a ritual purification experience. I haven't tried it, but I have seen a lot of tourists taking part in it. The temple grounds are beautiful to roam around. Make sure to bring a sarong with you, because you won't be allowed to enter normally if your body isn't fully covered with clothes. The temple can get very crowded at times so make sure to try and go their as early as as you can

A very spiritual place, peaceful, and calm. During busy time, it could be quiet hectic. Don't expect a tourist attraction because this is an actual temple that people still actively pray at. We should mind our manners at all times and there's an area off limits for women on their period.

I have to say it wasn't my favourite temple. There was so many people there that I couldn't enjoy it properly. It is still beautiful nonetheless πŸ™πŸ€—. You can also see people from all over the world engaging in the ceremonies ☺️

The main attraction besides the beautiful temples is the purification wash. As amazing as the experience is, you must give yourself time to wait for everyone to get through, change in a locker room into saroungs worn by other people that are wet when you get them and in a change room where there is very little privacy and space.

Beautiful historic temple. Took part in a Hindu bathing/cleansing ritual. Very spiritual experience. Peaceful environment despite the amount of visitors. Watched temple offerings being prepared. Local guides available at a cost, or just explore for yourself.

One of sacred place here in Bali. It's famous with their Holly spring, and a lot of visitor came here to dip themselves to a pool which many believes it will clears any bad vibes and gives a purity. It's a great place to takes a lot of pics, and also great place to pray. There is a fish pond where you can enjoy the view of fishes chasing after food. It's very amazing place and I highly recommend you to go to this sacred place!

This is a lovely place. I can enjoy the beauty of the place because it's pretty empty during the pandemic. You only need to pay 30.000 rupiah per person for the whole experience. Except for the bathing experience, you need to pay 10.000 rupiah for that. The place is relatively small with lots of charm and characteristic. This is a must visited place when you visit Bali.

Really like the temple. It's beautiful and sacred. Unfortunately we were in a hurry so couldn't take dip into the holy water which is said to wash away all the sins because there was a long queue but it was still worth the visit. The water management is good and you can get a locker to keep your stuff and change for the dip into the holy water.

Definitely hire a guide before you get here, there aren't any at the temple. It's really lovely here. The only downside is having to run the gauntlet of market stalls on the way out. I found these ones more aggressive than the average stall holder in Bali.

A lovely experience at this Hindu temple and holy water spring in Bali. At this temple, you can bathe in the holy spring water for ritual purification. There is an entrance fee of 50,000. You will be handed a sarong to wear for free when you enter. You cannot enter the temple with wet dress or hair untied. There are changing rooms and lockers (with a few). You do not need to worry about covering your shoulders at this temple. I’d recommend doing the holy spring water ritual if you come visit. It can be a humbling experience as you bow with everyone else. I’d also recommend researching the meanings of each fountain as it makes the experience more meaningful. If you don’t have a guide maybe ask someone there what fountains you shouldn’t bow to as there are a few you are not allowed to go near.

Beautiful area, peaceful and calm. Very interesting, amazing trees. Ran the gauntlet through the market stalls but everyone was friendly and nice. The toilet was dirty and you had to pay for toilet paper.

Beautiful decorated Hindu temple. Go to visit whether you are of Hindu religion or not. You have to tie a sarong on your waist before entry into the temple. There's a holy spring water used for purification. Locals come in with plastic containers to fetch the water for use at home. There's a shopping area on exit for all sorts of goods. Be ready to bargain hard by paying not more than 30% of offered price.

Temples shouldn't be rated anything less than 5 stars. If you feel that way then don't bother visiting because it's not an attraction, it's part of Balinese culture. The place was great. Remember to be respectful and not getting in the way of people here to pray.

Was a lovely experience. Recommend to bring a towel and read up about the meaning of each fountain and the process before you go. You can pay someone to photograph you on the day. It is one of the most authentic Balinese experiences you can enjoy in Ubud.

Holy place as per Balinese tradition. And trust me very positive vibes one you get in to the holy spring water. Crystal clear water and the area they kept it very clean and tidy. Balinese people follow Hindu tradition better than Indians and I really appreciate that.

This temple is famous for its traditional activities. Here, you can take a bath in the water after wearing their traditional dress from the temple and taken three times shower inside the pool from the elephant. So I should say that the time is famous for its traditional and there is nothing too much to see here here also you can feed fishes. There are a lot of fishes available in this temple and there is nothing special about this temple but it’s like an averageplace to me

I came here for 'melukat', they said it's one of the biggest in Bali. They have about 26 showers with different purpose/prayers. If you came for the first time, you need some guide from the locals, because there are 2 or more showers that prohibited or just simply you don't need to take. A beautiful and also sacred place to pray, no matter what your religion is, pray based on what you believe with the local rituals.

This place is absolutely fantastic. You can do purification of your soul and spirits and enjoy the good energy. If you can come visit it early in the morning when there are not many people and in rainy days is even better. It is really one time experience if you let your energy flow and clear your mind.

It's a nice temple but somehow I didn't have much impression on it. The temple was always crowded when I was there. To enter the temple, everyone has to borrow and wear a sarong. It was a nice experience for tourists. At the 12 streams area, there were many people were their, waiting for their turn to get into the water and pray including many foreigners. The praying area was large and there was no statue. The fish lake was full of fish and it was beautiful to see. To get out of the temple, we had to cross the area where people sold stuff and it took us quite a long time to get out of there.

This temple was called the Holy Water. In the middle of a beautiful forest there were many temples with unique architecture. There was a large pool where pilgrims went to the holy water and washed themselves. To enter the Bali temples, you must wear long clothes, otherwise there are fabrics that are given to you to wear around your waist. The trees here had giant tropical fruits. At the end of the temple was a spring that came out of the ground of holy water. There was good energy in the space and we could feel calm.πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ±πŸŒ±πŸŒ±πŸ™πŸ»

The temple of the local spring is a beautiful location with an active sprint that feeds into the local rivers. Bring a swimsuit or clothes that can get wet to go through the purification ritual I the spring water fountain. The nearby fish pond is a joy to watch as well and the presidential residence on the hill above.

Beautiful temple with a stunning atmosphere. There is also a possibility of cleansing yourself in the temple waters, which is an experience all on its own. A must visit for everyone who is interested in exploring the Balinese spiritual culture.
