During my recent stay at the Como Hotel in Canggu, I encountered a mixture of high expectations and eventual disappointment. Despite the steep price suggesting a luxurious experience, the hotel’s execution did not match its superb location. The staff and team were commendable, displaying their dedication and helpfulness from the detailed emails before check-in to their attentive service on-site. However, the design of our 2-bedroom pool suite was a significant letdown. The issues, such as impractically tall desks and closets that emitted a moldy scent masked by sprays, suggested that design was an afterthought. This lack of attention to detail in the room’s layout and amenities was disheartening. Sleep quality was another major issue. The uncomfortable bed and poor-quality pillows made for restless nights, which is a fundamental aspect any hotel should excel in. Additionally, the breakfast offerings were limited and failed to impress, especially for my children. On a positive note, the hotel’s spa and gym facilities were outstanding. The couples’ deep tissue massage at the spa was exceptional and the gym was well-equipped, both living up to our high expectations. In conclusion, while Como Hotel boasts an exceptional location and some facilities like the spa and gym are excellent, it falls short in critical areas such as room comfort and food quality. The overall experience was marred by a sense that design and comfort were secondary considerations. For the price, which exceeded that of a 5-star Nusa Dua resort villa, my expectations were much higher, and I left feeling underwhelmed.

Lovely hotel, gym is the best!!!! Room is pretty basic, but provides the usual amenities. But the gym is world class, take a look at the video attached. Yoga classes is complimentary, they even have reformer in the gym (payment required). Breakfast was delicious, very healthy and clean with amazing coffee. Overall Como serves very healthy and delicious cuisine. For anyone who is serious in their workout (can’t do without even during vacation!) this is the go to hotel!

If you are looking for 4 star everything (exceptions listed below) but want to pay 5 star prices then this is the place for you. Good location. Generally a bit worn and underwhelming. Breakfast is very good. Staff very friendly but lack service training expected for 5 star. Excellent gym and spa.

My wife and I were looking for a luxury escape to Bali for our honeymoon. We came across Como Canggu with their ocean "view" room and it seemed like it ticked all the boxes. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with our stay. We had rats burrow into our room on our second night, the hotel plugged the hole in the morning to stop them coming back into the room but no apology or complimentary drink was provided even though they ran over all our belongings and made for a very long sleepless night. The room was fairly old with a constant sqeaky aircon and paint falling off everywhere, broken shower head etc... we were pretty disappointed with the ocean view from the residence which I would describe as more of a glimpse however I don't think we would have minded any of this if it weren't for the rats. My wife was also disappointed that the only time she was referred to directly was when she spoke with female staff. All other times she was ignored (they only reffered to me (the man), opened the door for me, pulled out chairs for me) when my wife would ask a question they would refer back to me as if I had to give permission for everything she wanted even though they had her name on file and hilariously sent the paper work to her after our stay anyway. I think some training for the staff is needed on that front. The positives were that the beach bar was nice, the dinner and lunch food was great (breakfast was OK) and they had regular room service. The amenities and location were great as well. All in all I think it's a great 3 star hotel. It's just absolutely not what you pay for and a total rip off for the price.

The facility is very good, but the staff are very Non-professional. . Room service staff and lobby staff are amateurs. Kids room staff only go to work. They don't take care of their children. They had the children clean on their own. However, the parking guidance staff were kind and knew how to work on their own.

The service is terrible, they treat me as a asian woman so bad. Various staff tell me to get things myself from the buffet (even though they give us a menu to choose from) but when my white husband asks for the exact same thing they will get him it. I ordered 1 pasta and it took 1,5 hour to arrive. After asking the staff 3x with no update, when my white husband ask for it then they take it seriously and offered free drinks for compensation for waiting! To him!! They open the door with a greeting when I walk with my husband but when I walked back alone they were so impolite and started chatting in my face while I was walking through the door. Many other issues during our 4 night stay. Even my husband was appalled by the way they treated us. Horrible, rooms are nice but basic. 4 star facilities at best, 0 star staff service. Will never come back. Outside the hotel was road construction so traffic was bad.

Was surprised to see how many kids there were- way too many running around and screaming that took away from being able to relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoor area. The parents don’t care how annoying it is for other people- they treat it like a day care (I know it’s not the hotels fault). It’s too nice to not be adults only. The room and breakfast buffet were excellent-exceeded our expectations. Great location and service! Unfortunate you can’t see the beach from the pool- obstructed by plants. Walls are thin- was constantly woken up by the kids above us running around (once again parents aren’t considerate of others).

I chose COMO for a birthday celebration, and it was a phenomenal experience. The staff were incredibly attentive, making us feel special throughout our stay. Highlights included the huge pool, rejuvenating morning yoga, and peaceful beach walks. Everything was perfect, and we’re definitely planning a return visit. Thanks for a memorable celebration!

I've spent the day at the COMO beach club to do some remote working / enjoy the pool, service incredible, stunning place, delicous food and all the facilites you need. Wifi works amazingly to handle video conferences calls if needed. Peace and quiet in an dreamy location. Stay until the sunset. the staff couldn't be lovelier specially Wid who was with us at diner and his due dilingence just made our night.

Really cozy place to stay and chill for your holiday. They have 4 types of room to accomodate your stay. The place is very close to the famous Batu Mejan Beach in Canggu You can swim in gigantic swimming pool, chill in their beachclub and stroll in canggu area since there are a lot of restaurant, cafe, and bar surrounding the hotel

Strategically located at Echo Beach, Canggu, COMO Uma Canggu offers easy access to local gems like La Brisa and the nearby BGS coffee shop. The property's standout feature is the COMO Beach Club, a captivating spot for breakfast or sunset admiration. The pool access is excellent, providing a delightful experience. During a special kitchen takeover by Carbon Jakarta, I indulged in a remarkable culinary journey, discovering Mexican and Peruvian flavors with native ingredients, all while overlooking the beach. The set menu was undoubtedly the best. Will definitely return!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed at the end of August and got a room in the main building. It was very expensive. For the price, it’s definitely not worth it. Maybe at around the AU$300 price point, it would be worth it. Unfortunately, the balcony to our room was contained by three very tall cement walls so there was no view. The room was clean but somewhat outdated. The area around the shower edges was mildewy. The gym was also below us, and you can hear people deadlifting and dropping weights until 10ish and commencing at around 7am, so there’s really no sleeping in. The beach club and pool were nice. The complimentary breakfast was also nice.

We enjoyed our stay but will not be rushing back. The hotel is advertised as a 5 star hotel, and has prices to match, but unfortunately it did not meet 5 star hotel standards in my opinion. The rooms are comfortable; but out dated. They are not as good as other luxury hotels. The pool area is nice, and the architecture of the hotel is lovely and modern. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. I must note, the gym is fantastic! While we were underwhelmed by the rooms, one thing that we cannot fault are the staff and service. The staff always went over and beyond to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. They were extremely accomodating when it came to requests we made for our baby. Eg provided plenty of Bottled water, ensured our rooms were one of the first cleaned in the morning etc We had a pleasant stay overall but will not rush back.

Beautiful beautiful hotel with great service and spacious room. We booked the two-bedroom residence and it was more than enough for the four of us. The hotel location was very close to the beach and the facilities were complete. Staffs were hospitable and made sure we have everything we needed. Would definitely come back to stay when we visit Bali👌🏻

It's likely the fanciest hotel in Canggu and it's very nice. The pool area is nice with ocean view and sunsets. Rooms are big with all amenities expected at COMO. I prefer more charm and it feels almost out of place in Canggu. Can't fault the hotel though so if it's your style, go for it.

We initially thought it was from the outside but we started seeing it coming out from the holes in our bathroom. (-) damp room. (-) drinking water is very chalky, i am pregnant right now and was scared it might be bad for me and our baby. Canggu is a young party place, Como is probably the best hotel here. The beach is not as nice as the one in Seminyak. This is a place for learning your surfing and hanging out at the beach bar such as Finns. In front of the hotel is a walkway and you have to walk down 10 steps to be on the beach. The breakfast is quite good and the restaurant is a nice hangout place w seaview. But the seaside pool is quite small. The laguna pool is nice and big. Their gym is probably the highlight of this hotel w nice yoga programs. Room deco is not particularly high end, and many places need a makeover.

We absolutely loved our stay. The gym was one of the best I've experienced and the breakfast buffet was high quality. We really enjoyed watching the ocean while we enjoyed our breakfast. The service was very good and I look forward to staying at another Como property

Upon arrival to the Como Uma property it was very pretty. I was very excited to stay here based on the photos online. I chose this over several other options even though it was certainly much more expensive. The rooms are a bit dated and unimpressive. I had gone to brush my teeth and noticed the bottle of water left by sink was already open and drank from. Having just entered the room I had expectations of it being clean, sanitized and given water that hasn't been contaminated by another person. I took a shower and as soon as the water started running the drain smelled awful. The room was small, apparently not clean and generally disappointing. The hotel itself is extremely noisy. You are perpetually hearing the tinkering of the cleaning crew, slamming doors (as the doors don't close easily and I think people find it necessary to pull them shut which causes a slamming noise) and other peoples conversations. I went down to have a meal after check in and ordered sparkling water which came out a hot bottle of water. This happened almost every time we ate at the beach club so make sure you specify the temperature of water you prefer. I don't think anyone anticipates hot water when ordering a bottle of water; possibly room temperature or cold but certainly not hot. The pool is nice but the views of the beach are completely obstructed by the bushes. You can not see the beach which kind of takes away from the point of staying at a property on the beach. They have a mossy, stagnate bowl of water that is suppose to be used to wash your feet once you come back from the beach but it looks very dirty and the more you think about how many people dip their feet in there, the more uncomfortable you get; however there is no other option. We later had dinner. Around 9:50pm the table lamps were collected and it was clear the staff wanted us to leave. I looked up the hours and it says until 11 pm. I didn't appreciate being made to feel unwelcome especially when their hours of operation says they don't close for quite sometime. In the morning I went to the gym. The gym is extremely nice and one of the reasons we chose this location. I began my work out and when I needed to refill my water there was an empty refrigerator with no water and and an empty water canteen. It took 20 min for this to be rectified. I brought all of this to the attention of management and they upgraded our room. I was thankful to change rooms but it's also a hassle to have to do so. The new room was nice but we were awoken at 6:30am by loud slamming noises appearing to come from the floor above. There's no level on the elevator going to the floor above to I'm left to believe there is some sort of staff area up there in which they're carelessly making so much noise it's impossible to sleep. I went down for breakfast and had avocado toast in which I found larvae in my food. This is just generally unappetizing. After we came up and tried to take a nap after having be woken up so early and every five or ten minutes you hear a door slamming or a vacuum running or other guests waking down the halls. There is zero sound proofing. I tried to use the beautiful outdoor shower in our upgraded room but unfortunately the water only runs cold and has no temperature control. This place had so much potential and so many missed opportunities to make the experience special. They missed almost every time. I don't believe they deserve the alleged 5 star rating they have currently. We stay in 5 stars all over the world and this is worst property donning that title. This is also worst place we stayed in Bali as well as the most expensive. I would advise anyone considering to stay here to look literally anywhere else. It's over priced and extremely disappointing.

We had a very pleasant stay overhere. Good breakfast with fresh juices, a good pool next to the beach and a good clean room. Also loved the central location next to La Brisa and other good places to go! Also they have the best gym we have seen so far at a hotel. What a big gym! Food at the restaurant of the hotel was good and we loved watching sundowners overhere as well. Thank you for having us!

Absolutely loved our stay here, beautiful well maintained rooms, the food at the restaurant was excellent, and the service was very friendly. There was a very large earthquake while we were there but we felt very safe as the building is well built and also has a Tsunami Safe Point on the roof. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Fantastic.

Nice hotel. Fantastic service and really excellent gym. Pool area and beach club also amazing. Only reason not giving it 5 stars because the hotel wing rooms not as plush as the price they charge (still no doubt really nice and comfortable rooms).

Enjoyed our stay at the Como, really tidy, spacious rooms that were cleaned exceptionally well daily. We also liked how you had the option of being able to use either the lagoon pool or beach club area, was nice mixing it up day to day. Food was incredible, the breakfast selection was amazing along with the menu options, some of the best wood fired pizzas I’ve ever had! Location was good however it is a 10-15 minute walk to the main strip where the shops and restaurants are located. Only downside we found with being in Canggu is it isn’t the easiest to get around unless opting to ride a motorbike.. which wasn’t of interest to my mum or I. So organising a taxi was never the quickest or cheapest, but it worked for the 4 nights we were in Canggu. Only frustration we had was we found the staff didn’t listen, we would ask for the most simple things, a glass of ice, napkins, a straw and they’d say yes but then never return. We’d be constantly chasing things up, asking for a third, fourth time, in the end I’d go get it myself as I gave up waiting a near 45 mins for a glass. Sounds pedantic I know, but when it happens at breakfast, lunch & dinner during the duration of your stay, it becomes a bit irritating and you wonder if they even care. However I do have to give credit to the small handful of staff who made our stay a pleasant one.

WOW!! I only have incredible things to say about this hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed here 3 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. 1. the staff is INCREDIBLE --- soo accommodating and welcoming 2. the rooms - MODERN, new, nice, clean and keep out the mosquitos :) 3. the restaurant -- super tasty. love how they have a different lunch and dinner menu 4. the spa --- reasonable prices and super relaxing OVERALL, a 5 star hotel for sure and I would definitely come back

There are a lot of issues with this resort.... 1. The staff keeps forgetting things, it happened like 4-5 times during a 5 days stay 2. On the last day, there was water problems, the staff not only did not proactively inform the guests, but underestimated the water problem... (the water from tap and toilet was constantly running black/brown water for quite some time after the claimed "fix") 3. The local dish at the restaurant is very mediocre 4. The beach out there has a smell as there a 4 "inland water" running into the sea within a 20min walking distance from the resort on the beach.... Many of the tourists do not know what that water is and was washing there feet and shoes there ... 🤢 The 2 things I see that are good there 1. It's a surfers' beach as they have nice waves 2. Beautiful place to watch sunset

  • 4/5 yuyun s. 2 years ago on Google
The place is cosy and looks expensive. The room rate is quite expensive compared to the location of the room which is very far from your drop off. Moreover not many of the hotel surrounding that you can enjoy. You can swim easily if your room is near the pool but there is no privacy as the pool is surrounded by many rooms. Again it is an individual preference. The dining area is at the back whereby you can see the beach when the weather is good. But the beach is not marvellous for you to walk in the beach. Tips. If you stay in this hotel as the room rate is quite high, you will need to spend time in the hotel rather than going out. Just lazy sit in your balcony, swim, reading or enjoy the hotel facilities.

We enjoyed the 1 bedroom residence very much, and the jacuzzi was divine!! Pool was the longest swim ever and the setting made beautiful. We had in dinning with some good New Zealand wine out at the balcony. Early lunch at the beach restaurant with selections of cheeses and cold cuts were delicious. Very attentive and friendly staff. The only problem we had was the mold smell in the room...

We recently had our honeymoon and decided to choose COMO for our accommodation while staying in Bali, we loved our time while we were there, staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you, so polite! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting nice accomadation, great food, good location with a choice of two pools to relax in. Highly recommended A+++

The lobby and facilities in the main reception were superb. However, the room did not meet the same standard as the lobby area. The normal canggu room feels like a chalet to be honest. So if you want to choose this hotel, I recommend you to pick the suite that has the pool view. The air con was under maintenance during the first day but was not communicated to us. The staff were very friendly and service was above satisfactory. The food was super good! We however met with a disappointing experience during our dinner. The fan blade fell from the ceiling. We were lucky it didn’t kill us. Management should look into refurbishing the beach club to ensure a safe environment for guests. Generally a good hotel, but choose a suite if possible.

Amazing stay! I don’t think i could say anything bad about our stay here. Firstly, the service was exceptional- any issues or problems we had were easily resolved at reception. The staff at the restaurant and by the day beds were brilliant. There is a lot of staff so if you ever need anything, they are right there to serve you, you always get it within minutes. The breakfast we had every morning with our accomo was delicious- the nasi goreng is a must try! The coffee is delicious and they have a big selection to choose from. The cleaners literally cleaned our room twice every day so well! Props to them for being amazing! They are perfectionalists- they even fold up your cables so it’s not messy 😂🥲 everything is very precisely tidied up. The only thing I’d say is that the hotel has a lot families and couples but it wasn’t bad. Nice location for a lot of things in Canggu and Seminyak. Thank you so much como uma!

Impeccable service all around. Even with a five star hotel, I felt the staff went above and beyond my expectations -- all we encountered were super courteous and genuinely friendly. We had a later flght out of the island and the team was nice enough to give us another room until 6pm since we had our infant with us. Just very impressed with the hotel overall. Wow.

Amazing hotel and staff! Everyone was super nice, and always with a smile on the face asking if we need help - and with good english (we found this to be a great quality after staying in other hotels in Bali). The quality of the food, and the restaurant's view on top of the beach are amazing! Two great pools to choose, and nearby two great surfing spots: Echo and Batu bolong beach.

The location of the hotel is wonderful and the spa was quite nice. However, being deemed a five star hotel and charging the prices they do, we were quite disappointed. It was the most expensive stay on our trip to Bali and the least maintained. The rooms showed some tiredness and the grounds were not as well maintained (weeds, etc) as some 3 star hotels with significantly less budget.

Such a wonderful stay at the Como Uma in Canggu. The service was exceptional and they take a lot of effort into ensuring your stay is special and memorable. We were upgraded to the One bedroom Residence due to a small issue with our previous room and it was divine. The location is fantastic, the staff are incredible, the beach club is relaxing and the food is very good. A memorable trip due to Como and would highly recommend. Looking forward to returning some day.

This hotel cannot be trusted. When we arrived at breakfast time, and requested day passes, we were told that we would have day beds and pool access. After breakfast suddenly we were informed that the pool is closed and that day beds are full. We wasted several hours, paid for expensive breakfast (quality just OK), and had to move to another hotel… very disappointing from a "5 star" hotel. We will never come back

Great place to stay if you love yoga and healthy food! Nice location by the beach. Nothing special with the facilities, just like any other 5 star hotels. Not sure whether it’s worth the price. They offer nice yoga classes in their gym. Breakfast buffet has limited option.

We booked a 1 King Bed room but was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a 1 suite residence bedroom upon checking in. The entire experience from check in to check out was faultless and the service staff made us feel so welcome! The property was well-maintained, clean, and spotless. The scent of the space was also very calming. At COMO Uma Canggu, it felt like we were miles away from the hustle and bustle of Canggu. There is complimentary pilates and yoga classes and we attended the class by Ray which was conducted so well. The pool was quiet and very large - nice space to relax. The massage at COMO was also one of the best massages and experience I’ve ever had. The therapists are all so well-trained. It is a must-try when you are there! We were only there for 1 night but left COMO feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated. Highly recommend this space to anyone!!

Thank you for resolving your shortcomings. Today my dinner experience was exactly as the Como I remember. This used to be our go to spot. Bottle of cold Chardonnay, free range chicken that was made to perfection (juicy and tender) and excellent service. Now this business is in a complete mess. Service has gone down, I was not attended to until I walked up to the waiter and asked for it, menu even at that point was not given and order taken incorrectly. Bottle of wine arrived warm and left unopened. Later on a glass was poured and that’s the last time I have seen service that evening until I asked for the check. Food was dry and tasteless. Sadly, I have recommended this place to many of my friends based on my experience a year ago. I would not do so after this evening.

From service, to hospitality, to incredible tours and top tier recommendations by the Concierges, we didn't stop being blown away by our increasingly incredible experience at this hotel. The rooms were fantastic, the hotel was stunningly beautiful, and we cannot recommend it enough. It was located just 1.4 km from downtown Ubud, which was convenient and accessible. The guided tours offered by the hotel were outstanding. Breakfast was immaculate. Fantastic experience in every way.

Como is probably the best hotel in the area but it needs a lot of improvements. We really liked a big lagoon pool, bed linen was comfortable, gym was nice. The location is great too. It’s very close to cool cafes like Koast. Besides that the hotel is a bit dated. The bathrooms had some mold, kitchenette looked not maintained. Also the staff there is a bit over the top. It takes them longer to do a polite apologizing for everything speech than to actually do anything. We also didn’t enjoy breakfast that much. It’s better to walk to Koast. In general, we enjoyed our stay but $700 a night is a little too much for what you get. There are better places in seminyak for twice cheaper.

This is a good hotel in canggu but a bit far away from crowd like restaurants or cafe. It's not walking distance to the crowd which mostly at batu bolong area. We stay at direct pool room, it's family of four. The +++ point The staff really welcoming us with warm and friendly and give us plenty of information regarding everything including the room. The room type it's 1 bedroom Lagoon pool residance which are: The room is big big room around 5,5m wide and 15m lenght including the 3m terraces. It came with small kitchen. Light embiance warm and good for relax not too low light but perfect for me. Bed really comfy and soft including the pillow and blanket. Room is clean and they gave me plenty of bottle of water. Bathroom nice clean and water pressure is strong. Bathroom also came with big bathtub so my entire family can jump in all together to enjoy the messages bubble from the tub. Best things for me it's the shampoo and conditioner it has peppermint feel. Refreshing after done shower. Swimming pool is the best, not too crowded peven the hotel look full maybe because the pool is very huge, i'm guessing it's almost 90-100m length. And the water clean. I love to sit at terrace facing the pool in the morning, so many birds sound and beach wave sound and also cricket sound. Relaxing and peaceful. Restaurant view the best for sunset and enjoying the moment with rock close to the beach front. Gym is big place, clean, comfy area. The not too negative but still good: Restaurant food don't really like it maybe we had Indonesian food, but if European or western food it's different. I have review for the restaurant. Beach clean but the sand area for playing around for kids and fot sitting at the beach sand not really good because the distance from border hotel to the water sea it's really close so in the afternoon you can not walk close to the sea because of sea water level up to the border of the hotel. The best still at seminyak beach for me. Pay attention if you depand on taxi blue bird or online grab or gocar services for transportation, the villages have rule have to use local taxi for going out the canggu area which i don't have any information about it. Better check with the hotel. Overall I love the hotel. Will come back again if in Bali.
