受付の女性は日本語は話せませんが日本人だと分かると日本語の問診票渡してくれました。
その時間にはナースも医師も日本語対応できる方はいませんでしたがGoogle翻訳などを使い一生懸命理解しようとしてくれてとても安心しました。
結局食あたりみたいなものだったようで朝〜15時頃まで入院して点滴をして貰いました。
「点滴をしましょう」と言われた時は日本的な考えで処置室で1時間〜2時間ほど点滴を打って帰るのかと思いきや入院と言われて驚きました。
ちゃんと朝食と昼食も出て、点滴で息子もすっかり元気になり帰宅しました。帰る前ごろに日本語を話せる女性が来てくれて色々詳しいことも聞けたし、病院に行く前に加入している海外旅行の保険会社に電話で問い合わせたところ、診断書と領収書をもらって一度支払いをして、帰国してから請求をすると聞いていたのですが、結局は病院が保険会社に直接請求してくれるようで金銭的な負担は全くありませんでした。
