Rock Bar has one of the most scenic oceanfront spots on Bali. This restaurant will not disappoint a couple or a larger group. The menu is a bit pricey because it's a hotel restaurant. But the vibe and atmosphere is reliable and fun for an evening near the waves and ocean breeze. This restaurant is currently on my short list of sunset options for quality fusion cuisine and drinks on Bali.

It offers great view? Yes only when it’s sunset. Is it worthy for hundred thousand meal? Nah I don’t think so. Probably if you fond of fancy dining while having drinks and enjoy the Bali sunset, this might be a good place to you. But my preference wasn’t it. The meal is actually okay but not that good, it doesn’t make me scream “Wow it’s so good that I want to be here again.” I had the chicken, the meat is dry, puree taste it’s under seasoned. Acquaintance had lobster pasta, oh the lobster is actually a garnish. They just sprinkle the lobster meat over the pasta. Dessert? Pretty good.

In all honesty, I would strongly recommend you just come here for the drinks. The food is very frankly alright and nothing special whilst being pricey. AND they take very long to serve, each dish comes up every 10 15 mins and it seems like there's a disconnection between each serving. The drinks however are pretty good. Comes fast since the bar is just a few steps away. If you come here too early like us (5pm) we just ended up sitting under the hot evening sun for 1.5hrs taking all the umbrellas trying to shield ourselves. The level of comfort at that timing doesn't match the scenery. So, come here after 6pm for the drinks.

One of the best place to spend during sunset. Personally I like beach club more than bars, but this bar have just beyond beautiful place and view. Pricey as expected - it's a super famous bar at a 5 star resort. Tips: if you drink, open a bottle of Balinese wine. The price is very acceptable / equivalent with 2 cocktails + another drink. Also the place is hot BUT have many other guests. I recommend you to arrive at 4.30ish for the best seat but not too scorching hot

Rock Bar was an incredible experience, I got to attend dinner at Sunset, something generally reserved for Ayana Resort guests only but due to the low tourist numbers currently in Bali, I was lucky enough to be able to attend. I wasn’t disappointed at all, the food was delicious, the drinks hit the spot but best of all, the view. The sunset was breathtaking. If you get the chance, don’t miss the chance to make the journey to Rock Bar.

Price is definitely on the expensive side compared to others in Bali. But do consider that this is inside a nice and fancy hotel with a great atmosphere and view. Had a great time. Also feels very private as the bar only accessible via their lift.

If you are going to Rock Bar it's strictly for the sunset view that's it. The view is great, food is expensive and "sub par' (not good).. Once you arrive at the hotel it will take about 20 minutes to actually get down to "Rock Bar".. It's VERY busy and service does not = the clientele they are seeking.. Slow service, not clearing tables and a bit "frantic".. You can NOT make reservations for Sunset so go early or your table will be behind some rock and you won't enjoy what you came to enjoy. Many choices in Bali for Sunset so choose wisely:)

Great views. Spectacular sunset. You have to endure the heat ( under umbrellas) till the sun goes down Toilets are air conditioned ( nice surprise) which was nice to escape the blazing sun. Umbrellas should have holders. Misting fans should be installed would have made a massive difference. Food was ok expensive for what is was Drinks were pretty pricey but we knew that before we arrived. Our bill for drinks and snacks came to 2.3m For 4 of us.

What an incredible location and view to have whilst enjoying a meal by the beach! A little on the pricier side, but worth it for a special occasion or date night. We had an incredible time, staff were so helpful and friendly; and the the food was delicious. Serving sizes were a little smaller considering the value, but the quality and flavour made up for it.

The Rock Bar was recommended by a friend while we were visiting Bali. It is an impressive site, and all around amazing. The Rock Bar is located inside the amazing Ayana Resort and Spa Bali. Upon arrival you will take a nice walk through the resort to the cue for the Bar. You can only make reservations if you are a guest of the resort, all others are first come, first served and it starts aaah 4pm, so you will want to get there early if you are hoping to see the sunset. There is a tram that will take you down the side to the bar. You have a $300k requirement in spending per person, which is easy to do as it is not a cheap place, but totally worth it. You will want to make sure to pack sunscreen and a hat, as the sun is extremely bright until about 40 minute prior to sunset. They have a nice list of cocktails and wines to choose from and a selection of Tapas (Small bites), but no full menu options. Both the food and drink were amazing and the view is like no other! In addition to the view, the absolute best part of the night was the amazing service. We had the pleasure of having MD Budi as our server, and he was probably the most friendly, funny, and helpful staff member I encountered during my 13 days on Bali (and this is saying a lot as the people of Bali are amazing). Management should be very happy they have an employee like Budi as he is the reason we stayed extra long, and the reason I will return! Once again, he greeted us with a great introduction, offered to take photos, talked to us about Bali, made suggestions for the menu, socialized and joked with us and make the entire experience AMAZING!

5, no 10 STARS! 🤩🤩 These people are the kindest, most thoughtful, and attentive that we've met in Bali...and if you know how nice the locals are here that says a lot! 😄 Our party of 3 had an AMAZING sunset experience and the wait staff had everything we needed PLUS it feels like they've been trained as PRO videographers or photographers. (Maybe it was just our guy, but he was AMAZING with making sure our whole party got good pictures and views) The drinks are great! HIGHLY recommend their take on the Old Fashioned. They have good veggie options for vegetarians, and the fish was served beautifully. We were accidentally charged extra after splitting the bill, and on our way out, the waiter SPRINTED back to us to immediately refund the difference. He looked so stressed because he wanted us to have the best time and we can appreciate everything he and the staff did to ensure our expectations were more than exceeded. We were even moved to an extra special couch spot after sunset to relax closer to the ocean with our cocktails and food after it was already served. **Quick side note- it's a very fancy resort and you'll take a tram down cliffside close to the water to get to the actual bar. From there, there's a great energetic DJ side, a lounge side, and a romantic getaway side so you can ask for which experience you'd prefer to have while you're there. Thank you so much for the wonderful night and experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a unique Bali sunset dining experience.

If you don't want to wait in line for the tram back up the cliff - plan on having dinner. The time immediately following sunset (~30 minutes) is most colorful.

This is one of the most iconic place in Bali, if you come to Bali you have to experience this amazing spot. The sunset is what a lot of people come here to see, but the atmosphere, foods, drinks and the quality of service is amazing as well. For a lot of people to get a reservation at the top (next to the DJ) you have to stay at the Ayana Villa Resort, but you can still make reservation at the lower section. But come early to have a drink and I would recommend staying for dinner as well. Food is amazing here, I will be back again next year for sure.

All staff are super friendly! Due to they are nice to all customer, it makes the ambience and view become perfect! No racist betwen local or tourist customers. The rule only: one person one drink. The waiters will give you cold towel and sweet potato crackers for welcome. It has different area between outside customer and in house customer, it doesn't really matter. Beer for 100k and up / bottle. I ordered tuna, super delicious with edible flower. Wanna visit for second and so on.

Quite possibly the best bar I have ever gone too! From the moment of arrival to when you sit at your table, it’s beautiful! The gardens are amazing and the ocean view is amazing! The vibe is relaxed enough to just sit and watch into the sunset.

Situated within the Ayana Resort (old Ritz Carlton) in Jimbaran Area, the rock bar is the most picturesque and unique bar in Bali. The views are nothing short of spectacular, especially at sunset time. Even the ride down to the seating area is amazing. Staff are very polite and professional. Drinks menu is good and food (at least in my opinion) was just ok. They do need to improve on that but nonetheless a beautiful place to visit and party if you want whilst the DJ is spinning some tunes on top of the water.

Very unique spot spanning along the side of the rocks by the sea, best enjoyed at sunset. It’s quite a large area, it may take you a bit of a walk to get to your table. The place overall is interesting as it is all built into the rock, but that also makes it quite humid and there is a strong smell of the sea. It also gets quite hot, the umbrellas are a nice touch but they don’t quite protect you from the heat. They also hand out cold towels but again it’s not enough, this place desperately needs misting fans.

Drinks are expensive as expected. $22 for most cocktails. Bar snacks were pretty good, we had the mixed share starters which came with popcorn chicken which was good. You go here for the ambience and vibe though not the food!

The views were absolutely stunning from here. It was very hot though so the umbrellas provided came in handy. The food was good. I had the calamari and samosas which were very tasty. The cocktails were also delicious and not too sweet. Has a great vibe with a DJ. A must see!

Not really enjoy the sunset here as it’s roasted and sweaty, if you are not their customer they wont let you good view sport. Being seated behind a rock with no views of the sunset while there was empty seats with great views was a huge disappointment.(Although at last they put us to a better location,we wont be back. *Each person have to spend rp300k and we still have be be treated like this.

Stunning bar with it’s OWN gondola to get down! This was exceptionally busy for sunset and they weren’t allowing non resort guests down without an advanced booking. If you aren’t staying here, you can take a taxi or scooter to the venue. You have to walk down to the entrance of Rock Bar where you’ll take a gondola ride down to the bar. It’s off the side of a cliff, the view is spectacular and the vibe is incredible. Be wary of huge queues. If you want to leave after sunset, it’ll take you over half an hour to queue for the gondola back up!!

This was my 2nd time visiting Rock Bar. The first time my trip was great but it was damper because of the weather and began to rain and they wanted to close early No big deal I was excited to return this time around and I will say I made it at the prime Time of sunset which is the pinnacle of everyone's experience at rock bar. The problem is for one they have a dress code but this does not apply to guests so you'll see people there and their swimsuits and day attire meanwhile here I am dressed in a suit. Second guests of the hotel have priority seating at the restaurant so if you are not a guest you are left with whatever is remaining. The one thing I noticed is most "Guests" only have cocktails taking up prime seating for the best views. The moment the sun goes down....so do they. I was given a table with a blocked view and by the time most people were gone I didn't feel like changing tables nor did the other 8 people I was with. The staff which are many are all over the place. They do their best but I think they get very side tracked with so much going on so with that said you will constantly have to get the attention of the waiter because not once was our table checked in during the visit. Lastly the food this time around definitely was not good I ordered a tiger prawn entree which came in a small cast iron pan which appeared to be full with the exception of the six actual shrimp that were in the dish and the nine shrimp heads that were scattered about and covered in sauce. It was the biggest waste of money I have yet to spend here in Bali and probably the worst meal that I've had since being in Bali as well. This place is simply good for the views if you can catch him The ambiance is nice the music was great the drinks were lackluster but it's more for the vibe It will be very difficult to make this your place for a nice dinner dates with the way it's managed at this point. Very nice place to see the sunset if you manage to get seats. Reserve in advance if possible to avoid long queues. Non-hotel guests must pay minimum Rp300k per person for the bar or Rp500k per person for dinner. We enjoyed our short visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman at the bag deposit counter.

Really amazing venue with stunning coastal views and the rocks and cliffs are as advertised with amazing waves crashing up into the sky and splashing with majestic tenacity. The food was good but expensive of course as are all places with amazing views. Overall an awesome experience with 5 star food, 5 star service and 2 star for value which is common for places with great views. I’d advise to only eat before or after as you can get much better food for less cost, but the view is definitely worth experiencing!

They took my reservation wrong. I said 5.30 they thought 5.00. So when we came they said that they already give our table to someone else because we were too late. So when i said my reservation is at 5.30 not 5.00, they start being panic. Plus we have to wait for elevator, don’t u have stairs too????

TIP: Wherever you are staying in Bali, try to leave early for Rock Bar as there is a long waiting and specially at the time of Sunset which is the best time to go there. Try to reach the Ayana Resort and Spa around 4 pm so that you get a seats down in the Bar till 5 pm or 5:30 pm. Food is really great and the crowd is superb. Dance, feel the breeze and have an awesome time over there. When you leave from Rock Bar, you will be assisted by the Resort Staff at the main entry for getting taxis and they are seriously really helpful. And let me tell you that getting a taxi by your own is not easy there as it is far away from city area but as I said the staff is really helpful and responsible.

a lot of work to get the actual place. walk thru the resort and wait in line to take an elevator, where you can wait some more for your reservation (which was incorrectly made for the wrong time by the venue). the view is good of course but it’s crowded and some are much better than others. that said the food was better than average. more expensive than usual in bali but that’s to be expected. worth a shot once (kinda) and that’s it.

Great bar for sunset drinks if you are staying anywhere in the AYANA resort. We got a buggy over from Rimba. It is still really quiet here and we pretty much had the place to ourselves but most tables seemed to have good views and the cocktails were great. They were the most expensive cocktails that we have had in Bali so far though. £12-£14 each when you include the 21% tax.

From the hotel itself to the structure of rock bar, everything was well thought of. Staff were lovely and assisted us with any queries. We sat by the water and at nighttime the tide was high and therefore we had a few waves splashing us but staff moved us higher, view was spectacular. My parents and sibling loved their first experience and would go back again. Photos and videos doesn’t do justice.
