Amazing experience I had. I didn’t plan to go to Aperitif that night. My mind just came up with spontaneous idea to visit Aperitif. I didn’t prepare to dress up at all. Just simply wearing black tunic, white shorts and TB flat sandal. When I arrived at their gate and entrance, they really have a nice facade which I thought they might not let me enter the restaurant because of my somewhat casual outfit. Well, they welcomed me in a friendly manner. As a starter, I ordered La Vie En Rose Highball and Aged Boulevardier (Negroni) as aperitif. I loved both but La Vie En Rose was sweeter. Very much suitable for ladies. I ordered the Prestige 6 course and Signature 6 course (both are degustation). Each course was very impressive. I must say, I was impressed with their Kagoshima Wagyu A5, Tokusen Wagyu Carpaccio, Snapper and Tutti Fruiti. Each dish was prepared and served in the right time. Not to mention, their restaurant interior, the bar and its balcony, and even the restroom, I LOVED IT VERY MUCH! A little touch of antique French design style and grown-up allure, which I adore. They offered us to have our Petit Fours (pastry) at the bar area, and we did. Over all, this experience was the best dinner I had in this year. Will I be back? YES, definitely! Just in case you want to know their price of degustation menu: Prestige 6 course - IDR 1,825,000 Signature 6 course - IDR 1,400,000 *including tax (if I’m not mistaken)

A wonderful experience for our 1 year anniversary. The food was exquisite, we did one of their tasting menu and would highly recommend. It is expensive but totally worth the money. We also did the wine flight too which really complimented the meal. The setting was stunning and the staff couldn't do enough for us. My favourite course was the venison Wellington, but everything was incredible. The whole experience from start to finish. They even made a special dessert for our anniversary. The meal cost roughly £450 for two with the wine flight and an extra course (lobster ravioli, which was well worth it) and a cocktail. Like I said expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

This is my goto restaurant in Ubud where the food and service are consistent and of high quality. The interior is classic and elegant. The menu changes seasonally and the set menus are usually interesting. The food is always presented beautifully. Their wines are of good collection to pair with the food. Wine by the glass is always fresh tasting. Also have a visit to their bar. It is very nice.

This must be one if the top restaurants in the world. If located in Europe Michelin would grant a minimum of 2 stars. The colonial location is paired with an extensive wine list, outstanding food and very attentive service. We enjoyed the 7 course signature degustation with tasting. Every wine was paired perfectly. Total bill for 2 A$700

Nestled in Ubud's lush jungles, this elegant restaurant offers an enchanting culinary journey through contemporary global cuisine. Starting with captivating cocktails and appetizers like the fresh California caviar and delicate Chawanmushi king prawn, the journey unfolds. Standout dishes include the Venison Wellington, Kagoshima Wagyu A5, and the exquisite Hokkaido Scallop. Desserts, notably the chocolate mousse adorned with shimmering gold flakes, leave a lasting impression! While service is a bit slow, Aperitif Restaurant remains a favorite place for me in Bali. It flawlessly blends innovative gastronomy and refined creativity, making it an ideal choice for an unforgettable dining experience.

Best dining experience of our lives. We came here for our honeymoon and we were so impressed with every course (and left completely stuffed!). Our server Ogik was attentive to our restrictions and the other staff members were always checking in on us. The atmosphere is incredible - I would recommend heading to their bar afterwards as it's such a beautiful space. We would recommend the degustation menu. We chose the venison wellington which was incredible. Favourite course was surprisingly the heirloom tomato - for my husband who likes his meat options, he was really blown away with how many flavors and creative ways this was incorporated.

I love every single things that Aperitif has. Venue, staff, kitchen, bar, especially the taste of every dishes are truly high class culinary. I had my 8 courses here and all of them is outstanding. Totally the most awesome yet fantastic fine-dining experience i ever had.

Truly memorable dinner, would totally visit again. All the dishes we got in the degustation menu taste amazing and the concept is very well thought out. Some being inspired by local flavours. Even the side bread come in different types with various butter. This is paired with excellent service. Very attentif and some meals are served through the “carts” (forgot the fancy term). Venue itself looks glam but very spacious, downside is it doesn’t feel very intimate.

A real ‘bucket list’ experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our eight course degustation lunch in this beautiful 1930’s inspired restaurant. I had the pescatarian version of the Prestige menu and my wife had the vegetarian option. It commenced with cocktails made at our table accompanied by delicious hors d'oeuvres (snacks), then five savoury dishes and three desserts - each more spectacular than the last. We retired to the amazing bar for our last dessert and played a couple of games of pool. The service was friendly and impeccable. Highly recommend!

Went for the tasting menu in August and was blown away. From their excellent, creative cocktails enjoyed on the terrace, through a spectacular 8-course tasting menu, to petit fours and digestifs in the bar, it was a memorable evening. And with the 50% discount extremely reasonable. Go and experience it while they have this incredible offer!

The delicate layers of flavour for each course delivered was sublime. The wine pairing was also excellent. The service was impeccable. Cannot fault this place other than perhaps the lighting. It was a tad bright but looking at the lighting configuration, i think it was due to the social distancing initiatives which meant the carefully integrated down lights did not work with the current table assignments and hence the massive central chandelier was the main source of light which was a tad bright!

My husband and I dined here on our honeymoon and we enjoyed what was most definitely the best meal of our lives! It wasn't only a meal but an entirely memorable experience. From the moment we arrived we felt like VIPs as we were introduced to the chef, given a tour of the restaurant, garden and bar and presented with a complimentary cocktail (prepared in front of us at our table!). The meal is advertised as an 8 course degustation, but be warned that you will be spoilt with all sorts of extras, such as additional canapes and petite fours! As it was a special occasion for us we were kindly served an extra dessert course with a decorated plate saying 'Congratulations', which was so beautiful. I think it ended up being more like a 15 course meal by the end and we basically had to roll ourselves out of the restaurant because we were so full! They even gave us extra sweets to take home in a cute little paper bag, which was a very nice touch. The service was also exemplary, each staff member was so friendly and professional and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with our wonderful waiter Yuna. If you are wanting to have at least one luxury fine dining experience in Bali, make this it. It is expensive but absolutely worth it! We can't wait to come back next time we are in Bali.

It was my first time eating here, and I LOVE every second of it! The staff was super friendly and they escorted me to the best seat facing directly to the beautiful greenery of the jungle. The food was phenomenal and the presentation was beautiful. My favourite dish would have to be the Squab and the Wellington; the meat was so juicy and tender. For cocktail I would definitely recommend the Flower Carrier, its very tasty and refreshing.

A stunningly elegant restaurant. Love every details inside. I didn’t expect that there would be a really fancy and excellent fine dining restaurant in Ubud. Had fine dining here and absolutely love the food and the service as well. After we finished our food, we went to the bar, which unexpectedly also had a really amazing design. We preferred to stay outside and we had our chocolates there, so hard to choose when one of the waitresses came and asked us to choose the chocolates! At the time we finished and wanted go back, a waitress gave us a bar of chocolate and a red rose! That’s so sweet and flattering 🌹Unfortunately I forgot her name. Thank you. Truly appreciate it. Such a beautiful and extravagant restaurant. A must visit restaurant in Ubud for fine dining or simply chill in the bar.

The decor is very welcoming. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and tasted as though the chef took great pride in his dishes. I have been travelling to Bali frequently for many years and have tried many restaurants, but Apéritif has by far been the best. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quality dining experience with an intimate atmosphere.

I had such a wonderful evening here with my friends. The whole thing is polished to a fine art (in such a great way…not robotic at all). Outside of the food which is tremendous, the experience just gets better and better with all the different courses and table service. Especially love the barman making the cocktails live at our table. It’s just fun, yet refined. The atmosphere was buzzy and the restaurant and bar are statement pieces in themselves. If you want a special meal outside of the normal bali offering then definitely get it on your list.

The best dinner experience in Indonesia and very well catered for vegetarians with inventive and bold creations for the diverse menu. The bar is also another immersive experience that transports you to the 1930s with signature cocktails, decor, entertainment and knowledge like no other. My compliments to Oggi our waiter, the chef, the baristas and the rest of the amazing team that are attentive to your every needs.

An amazing experience from start to finish! Starting off with cocktails in the bar - and what a fantastic bar! The decor is great, and the cocktails are amazing. Following this, we went through to the dining area to finish our degustation. Every course we had was spectacular - from presentation, to service, to the all important taste. Not something you would do every day, but if you are looking for a treat and for an evening that will stick in your memories for a long time, then this is a great one to try!

Ok, so dining at Aperitif was, without a doubt, the BEST fine dining experience I've ever had the satisfaction of enjoying. Now, I've dined all over the world and we regularly eat at top-rated restaurants in metropolitan cities around the world, however, the food and the hospitality at Aperitif was truly hard to fault. Dinner was booked by two of my friends who wanted to gift my partner and I an early birthday dinner, so we had booked a couple of days earlier with anticipation. Not knowing the menu or what to expect, we were in for an absolute treat! We were initially ushered into an old-world mixed gentleman's club "world", away from the hustle of Ubud centre. Almost like stepping into another world. Classy, elegant, sophisticated, discreet. There was a cigar room and a pool table, with spirits and wines that littered the shelves. "Wow, I feel like I've been transported back in time..." Our entrée for the degustation menu started in the bar, and the whole experience kicked off here. Ordering a cocktail from mixologist, Panji's, new drinks menu was also an experience unto itself. I won't spoil you with all of the little intricacies that await your dining experience, but I do want to mention a few things that elevated our enjoyment. The cool towels to wash our hands with at the beginning of the dining service was just a nice touch. I loved having the option of choosing which additions I wanted added to my water: mint, cucumber, lemon and/or lime. After the entree, we had four different choices for bread accompanied by three different butters - all made in-house. We were also able to see the entire dish prior to plating and serving it in the kitchen, which I just thought was so lovely. We could select between 6 or 7 different steak knives hand-crafted from around the world. Of course, we chose the local Indonesian knives. The whole experience was enhanced when every single wait staff and bartender who interacted with us - of which there were at least 10 across the evening - knew us by name and addressed us politely each time. Between the main course and dessert, the waiter came by with a crumb scraper to clear the table of any mess. Because it was my birthday, they had also prepared an extra slice of chocolate cake for me, dimmed the lights and the team wished me a "Happy Birthday" and passed on a personal, birthday card with signatures from the entire team. The desserts were honestly so good, in fact, that we went back the following night and specifically ordered more dessert to have our friend try it with us. And order more cocktails. On the second night, we had shots with Panji (mixologist) and met the pastry chef and passed on my regards to her too. Aperitif was truly an outstanding dining experience, that I feel would be hard to top and I'm definitely going back there again upon my next visit. Best dining experience of my life. 12/10. Truly.

I attended the ladies night on Wednesday. The food and drinks quality was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet poised. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quick R&R or fine dining. My family and I tried the full-course menu.

While my wife and I were wandering around Ubud we decided to check out the new bar at Viceroy that we read about on Bali Buddies. They were kind enough to open for us early and we had the bar essentially to ourselves. Our host and Bartender Panji was incredible and undoubtedly the most talented and passionate bartender we’ve met in Bali and we’ve been living here for ten years! We did not try the restaurant but we did eat in the bar and the food was perfect. The only negative is that this bar is PERFECT for cigar smoking but unfortunately that’s not allowed inside which was disappointing - we sat outside and smoked with an incredible view but it can be quite sunny so perhaps management should consider putting a large permanent awning outside if that’s the only place you can smoke. Other than that, it was a perfect visit and we’ll be back very soon.

I came here because they're having the 50% off for the month of August. Being a commoner like me, I thought this is my one chance to try fine dining. The experience exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The service is impeccable, the food & drink are beyond words, the presentation, mannerism, decor, thoughts, and intentions are genuine and beautifully executed. I simply can't praise this restaurant enough, I applaud all their hard works and sincerely in making their guests feel like they're royalty. They took care of me for the whole evening, it's an experience of a lifetime and I absolutely love it. I ended up having an upgrade menu and add additional cocktail, but it's worth every penny. If you're looking for an amazing fine dining experience, don't go anywhere else! Just come here and you'll understand why. Also, a huge shout out to my waitress her name is Mary, you're the most delicate and poised human being I've ever encountered. Thank you for making my evening special! Cheers, Sten.

Just perfect! Amazing place, stunning food, awesome ambience to meet up with a group of friends after celebrating New Year. Also worth mentioning is the bar, love the ambience there, delicious cocktails. The one where you “kiss the sphere” then burst into smoke was a hit for photo ops

Out of the many fine dining establishments I’ve visited in Ubud, Aperitif is hands-down THE best for myself and my husband! I am especially impressed how they reimagined typical dishes with multiple layers of texture, temperature, sight and smell! The ambience is also to die-for! If we hadn’t planned out the rest of the day, we would certainly have stayed on at the cocktail bar. Couldn’t believe we actually missed booking the resort right next to it and will definitely return again for dinner!

Best dining experience in the world. In our humble opinion, this restaurant deserves much more recognition. We've been fortunate enough to dine in several Michelin star restaurants, as well as a few San Pellegrino 50s best. But still, Aperitif remains our favorite. Chef Nick and Mixologist Panji are true geniuses!!! Cocktails are perfectly crafted to tell a story, and the food... Oh God, the food is to die for. I know a chef knows what he's doing when the first amuse bouche is the most interesting dish of the night, it awakens your senses. And so it is here, after the amuse bouche selection, you can't wait to dive into the tasting menu. Our favorite will always be the wellington stake. Staff is so talented, the waitresses are so friendly, polite, and refined. Thank you all and congratulations on such a masterpiece.

(Translated by Google) A staid restaurant with a haughty, boring experience by obsequious staff. This kind of establishment, totally disconnected from the spirit of Bali, is poorly decorated, and tries without success to imitate the great starred establishments. The real luxury today is fine, delicate food, with good wines, people who smoke and party. A party atmosphere of the briefs. Ce genre d'établissement, totalement déconnecté de l'esprit de Bali est mal décoré, et tente sans y arriver de mimiquer les grands établissements étoilés. World class restaurant, we have eaten at some world ranked restaurants and this falls inline with those. The experience was perfect from welcome to wine to food and dessert. Staff and Sommelier were very helpful and nice. Everything I had was the best I’ve ever had of it before. Only comment to take it to the next level would be more intricate and unique dishes with a story behind each. Great job! Absolutely recommend.

The venue is stunning, started with a drink in the bar area having a delicious Novelist cocktail Then I took a seat in the main dinning room, the Menu was extraordinary. From the quality of the product to the service. I had the foie gras with a sauterne. The opu fish was stunning +++ with a great sauce and a glass of Chenin blanc And a delicious lamb with a glass of haut Médoc I also had the chance to talk to the chef Nic, his sommelier JB and the special guest of the night mister Reeze Choi Special thanks to Amanda and all of her team for that special night

Me and my husband visited aperitif for dinner, as this was our 1st time. First of all i am amazed with this place, the combination of luxury and elegant from their interior details with touch of french as their named. We took 7 course set menu each. We spent 3hours and we felt cozy. Especially their staffs are friendly and explained everything of what we ate. Good hospitality and very helpful. Each menu are magnifique, beautiful and tasty. I went on Christmas night, and it was one of the best experiences of my life! I've been to several starred restaurants around the world, but the aperitif is unique. All employees from the reception are attentive, kind and patient, especially with me who cannot speak English. Real, authentic, European high-end fine-dining! With a twist on Indonesian spices. The food was gorgeous. If you came from a western country, this might be not your exotic food experience, but if you want amazing food - that's a very good address. I loved each single dish, and the drinks are amazing, too. The bartender is something else - his creations were just so good, and he told me lots of interesting things about Bali's history and the hotel. Did I mention the view from the outside area of the bar? 5 stars!

I went to eat at Aperitif with my girlfriend a few days ago and I have to say it was one of the best dining experience I have in Bali so far, from the moment they pick me and my girlfriend in our place until the end of the meal the services was top notches. The food was beautifully crafted by Chef Nic and his team, we choose the 8 course degustation menu but it feels like a 14 course meal because of the overflowing complimentary from the generous Aperitif team. We started with three complimentary snacks of small bites then follow by what you can say three appetizers, three main courses and three desserts plus a a petit four and another complimentary dessert. For us the standout dishes off all of them would be the rujak, scallop dish, iberico pluma, squab dish and of course the venison wellington. Not to mention the complimentary dessert which is a chocolate cigar is also very good, the baba au rhum we find it a bit to sweet for our liking although the lemon tarte is very well balanced in terms of flavour because there is a lemon curd to temper with the sweetness of the meringue. But overall the experience was very much exceeding our expectation and worth every penny of it.

At first glance, the interior - a marriage of colonial and Balinese cultures looked impressive. We ordered a 6 course degustation. The waitress did an exceptional job explaining each course and the service was faultless. I appreciate and am grateful that the staff did their best to accommodate my daughter’s dairy intolerance at a last minute’s notice. Each dish was beautifully presented. Almost too beautiful to eat. However, with each dish, our expectations fell short and one dish after another was too rich including the dairy based “palate cleansing” amuse bouche. As an example, the venison wellington; The nearly raw venison was wrapped in eggy pastry, doused in rich rendang sauce and served with potato purée smothered in butter. Each dish was heavily laden in cheese, butter or cream. All three of us felt it would’ve been far more palatable and easier on the stomach if each dish was more balanced - light with heavy so that it was more pleasant to partake. What disappointed us the most was the conclusion to our meal. It didn’t leave us a good impression at all. The chef sat with his back turned to us chatting with his mates and barely sparing us a glance as we walked in and had our dessert. We felt exceedingly uncomfortable as if we’d intruded on a Boys Club. We ate quickly and left. Given that there was only 3 of us eating at the restaurant, surely it’s common courtesy to at least greet the customers? It’s a shame because the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful.

tried a few fine dining spots in Ubud... the food here is out of this world, except for the new building with a neocolonial facade ...

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon. We enjoyed the 8 course degustation with the extras it is more 15. The food is really amazing and is varied and we couldn't be more happy. Great location with amazing views too. The service was impeccable too, yuna was our server and she was very lovely and were very appreciative of her specifically. I would highly recommend it

I don't know where to begin this review! This has been one of the top restaurant experiences of our lives. First of all, Yudi the host, is one of the most thoughtful and helpful hosts you can ever wish for a restaurant. He is a great wine connoisseur and extremely well spoken. Second, the place is magical, it's so beautiful so grandiose, it's like having dinner in a movie. Wait till you see the bar, wow! Third, the staff, everybody is extremely attentive to your every need, helping you sit on the chair, to refilling your glass. The right kind of friendly, not overly pushy. Mahendra, we really wish you the best. Seen your talent at Apertif, I'm sure you'll get into Bali United if you wanted! Fourth, oh yeah, the food! The food is a work of art, the lobster, the opu fish, scallops, the desert!! The cheesecake. All the food was well crafted, balanced and most importantly delicious. The wines were exquisite and the cocktails pure craftsmanship. Finally, I was celebrating my relationship with my girlfriend and we had chosen for the romantic candle light dinner. Alexander the pastry chef had made us something special for the occasion which was lovely. It was so well done. The preparation work of Yudi, Alexander and his staff brought tears to my girlfriend eyes. My girlfriend says this was her best restaurant experience ever and she has been to many multiple star Michelin restaurants. Dinner at Apertif is a memory we'll hold very dear to our heart. We can't wait to come back again. Thank you Yudi and team for this wonderful experience.

We had a very disappointing experience for lunch at this restaurant. We were excited for the food to come but when we saw only one plate being delivered, we were confused. We were never told that my husband and I would be sharing a plate for each food item. So, instead of having individual plating, each food menu item was on one plate for 2 people to share. This definitely gave me the impression I was eating at a chinese restaurant instead of having a fine dining experience for our lunch.

Amazing food and service. Even the free pick up service was a nice touch. Best meal we’ve had in Bali. Can’t wait to come back.

This was my first fine dining experience, and Apéritif gave me the best experience I have never had before. You can feel the warmth from the entrance as the friendly staff greets you with covid-19 protocol and directs you to the Bar. The bar is very nice with a large selection of mocktails and cocktails. The mocktail I had "1920s Celebrity" was amazing. I chose the Vegetarian set menu. All the food was great but I think "Mushroom Forest" is my favorite. Dinner ends with Milk and Honey, an unforgettable dessert. The flavors of buttermilk, yogurt and white chocolate go together perfectly. FANTASTIC is the only word to express what I saw, what I felt and what I taste at Apéritif Restaurant. The architecture, ambiance, food, staff are the best I have ever had. Everyone is very nice and just wants to make sure you enjoy your dinner. Thank you to all the staff, Panji, Yudi and Amanda for your great hospitality. Strongly recommended.

One of the best restaurants in Bali. Degustation menus with wine pairing or ala Carte. Great selection of wines and cigars. Fantastic service and relaxing decor

Such an amazing experience. Indulging my senses: sight, smell, and taste. It’s a beautiful journey of taste from one course to another. They will take you to discover every layer of flavor burst in your mouth. They provide vegetarian/plant based full course. Love it!

This review is for the bar. Sadly we had no chance to try the restaurant. I am a big fan of good cocktails and love to mix drinks myself. After reading some good reviews, we decided to try this bar. To make it short, all the drinks were good and some were fantastic. The drinks are at the same level than the best drinks I have tried in Germany. A lot of the ingredients are homemade. All the staff was friendly and I loved to have conversations with the bartenders. The location belongs to a high class hotel. Because of that, it had the most beautiful ambiente you could imagine. We enjoyed our time so much, that we made a second reservation for the bar. That said, the Aperitif Bar is not a cheap location. Most cocktails will cost around 12 - 16 € + taxes and service charge. In my opinion it is well spend money. I hope one day I can make another visit.

👍 Ordinary food in a spectacular location, in the middle of rice paddy. The crispy duck is really crispy, a bit too dry. The sate lilit is delicious. The gurami goreng bit bland / tasteless. Nor the sauce / sambal nor the fish have any taste. It also would be better if they have soup in their menu to...
