Update, after eating here several times the food is served really fast and you feel very hurried to eat and hard to enjoy the truly amazing foos. Great dishes in this tiny restaurant. Elevated Indonesian flavors and french techniques for a good price. Pork chop Pork buns Beef tongue All come recommended.

Such a cozy, delicious place in Berawa! I ordered the chicken taco and battered mushroom taco (the mushroom is a must must must try)!! Sauce is delicious, and the mushroom taco uses a plant-based sauce too (perfect for plant-based people out there). They also had a promo on Oysters and clams, which were AMAZING. Loved the taste! Will definitely go back to try more dishes on their menu!

This is my 3rd time coming here. As always we’re being greeted by the staffs and lovely young chefs. The food are always excellent. We order Cauliflower, Pork Chop and Rawon along with cold beer bintang. Each of the food have uniqueness flavors but has kick in it. The vegan cauliflower with light mayo, thick and juicy pork chop with pumpkin flavor and the Rawon unlike any Rawon I taste, they didn’t make it soupy but instead they separate between the meat is so tender, surrounded by tempe and the thickness of the sauce. Even the plating is so aesthetic. I recommend for those who want to try, this is one of the best restaurant in Bali 🤩🤩🤩

Had an amazing dinner at Tanau. So simple yet sophisticated flavours. Excellent pairing with Indonesian flavours and western ingredient. Having the small plates give you an opportunity to try more dishes. Just note that they could probably only seat 20 people. I was lucky with the walk in. Excellent service.

Lovely little paradise ! This asian fusion eatery is worth many visits. Well designed with an open kitchen. Always nice to see the food being prepared by the staff - you get to see the love that goes into it. The chef Nate and co-workers are fully in control and obviously take pride in their dishes. The menu is regularly changed to surprise their clientele. The food was excellent. Nice playlist as well. Sophisticated lounge tracks - not intrusive. Sublime cocktails. Will definitely come back. A little hidden Gem. This place is small but massive on the menu flavours and presentation. What a great find mostly Indonesian food but a twist on the taste that makes almost every dish I have tried not good but amazing. Booking is a must to guarantee a seat. Just book it, you won’t regret it from steak to tahu Telor (just amazing) there’s something for everyone on this menu.

Best new restaurant launch in Bali; I love this place! While the grillhouse itself may be quaint, the food speaks loud and clear: quality ingredients prepared by talented chefs, with a lovely staff and two cute doggos. With weekly specials Monday through Friday, it's a great way to sample their growing menu: Monday - 10k sliders Tuesday- 10k taco Wednesday - 25k wings package Thursday - 10k oysters Friday - 40k burgers Of the specials, I've tried all but the wings so far, and have loved every dish. Through my prodding questions, I learned the two chefs are internationally experienced and come from differing backgrounds - together their co-created dishes brings a unique mix of flavors that I'm sure almost all could appreciate. Currently, the snapper is my favorite dish - grilled in a banana leaf, served with greens and sambal - I highly recommend it. However it seems hard to miss, everything from the seafood to even as simple as the fries are extremely well prepared, seasoned, and presented. I know this may seem like a paid review or something, but it honestly isn't, just a foodie who loves delicious food, good people, and better yet when those two come together - that's exactly what Tanau has captured. I'm thankful they've launched, and I enjoy supporting small businesses (especially amidst a pandemic) - I hope you give them a chance and support their dreams. 🍻 Tanau team! I knew about Tanau from my friend's instagram, and one day when I'm riding my bike in bali and caught in a traffic i saw the glowing Tanau sign and decided to stop by to try out their food. Once inside i was greeted by the waitress and get seated. My first impression on the whole ambiance is warm and cozy, maybe the warmth came from the hospitality of the whole tanau team because they are friendly and helpful. I looked trough the menu and decided to have their pork chop and negroni to go with it. I really liked the pork chop because all the ingredients really compliment each other very well. Their negroni is also quite nice. Overall it was a nice dining experience and would definitely come back for more

A small restaurant on the side of a busy road. Unbelievably great food🍜 and cocktails🍸, the chefs did an amazing job and all the staff were so friendly. We ordered grilled cauliflower burnt ends and pork bao bun for starters. Air dried black cod for main course with crispy baby potato and corn in the hust on the sides. Everything was just 😚👌🏽*chef’s kiss*. Most importantly, their bathroom was very clean and they provided some personal care products, how thoughtful 🥺 Advance reservation are strongly recommended!

Wow! This place is like a Hidden gem thank god because there is only 11 seats. They go absolutely delicious food. Great mix of western and asian. The cooks are a lovely couples. We went there 3 times in 1.5 weeks. We fell in love with the chefs, the places but out of all the FOOD!! Wow! The place os tiny and sometimes when you come in they are oit of some stuff on their menu. But they want to always serve fresh so sometimes they are out of shrimps or of dumplings. But I am telling you, everything on that menu is fantastic. So just choose something else, the chicken is juicy, the shrimps... wow, the tacos are delicious, the pork chop! Wow! The cauliflower... THE CLAMS! Everything!!! Try it! And you know what is cool now!? They don’t have their alcohol permit so we can bring our wine! Loooove it. What are you waiting for go try it before it gets too busy!

Amazing, soulful food! Changgu is not short of good food options, but Tanau is up there with the very best. Their sophisticated fusion of Asian flavours is refined comfort food at its best. The Boa, Beef Brisket & Pork Ribs were stand outs. Highly recommend!

Our mouths and minds were left clueless! We didnt know what what happening, there were so many flavours but it all made sense together and just left us wanting for more. Honestly weve been to every up and coming restaurant in Bali and this supersedes some of the big name only because of the food and the flavours. Genuinely a must try. I only wish we all could hype up this place so much just so they can make a bigger place for themselves so we can always get a reso. Had one of the best meals we’ve had in Bali here at Tanau. My wife and I enjoyed everything but would really really recommend you to order their Cauliflower and Blood Clams if you were ever to visit. Great food and and made even better with the service given by the wait staff. Owned by a couple that love each other very much and it shows through the food that they produce. Filled with passion and tastes amazing. Amazing night! ✨♥️

Really lovely out of the way spot that makes you feel like you discovered a treasure. Dishes are elevated Balinese with a twist. Everything is absolutely delicious. In particular we’d recommend the cauliflower, aubergine, bao and pork chop.

Among the best meals I had this year. Truly excellent cooking, and great mix of techniques and flavors. Enjoyed the cauliflower, ceviche, pork chop, and salt black cod. Bubur sumsum was also great (reminiscent of panna cotta, but with a more interesting texture)

Food is creative and well done with local ingredients and sauces, recommend octopus and burnt end broccoli. I don't recommend the desserts though. Good price for the value. Note that you need to reserve in advance!

Visited this quaint little spot twice and absolutely loved it first with friends and then with my partner and 1 year old. We loved everything they served us great chat with the head chef who is also the owner. Keep it up guys hopefully we’ll visit again soon

Had a Taco Tuesday here with some friends, and enjoyed the tacos. The tacos had a slight flavor twist from your typical tacos which was nice!!

Intimate, cozy, soulful, super tasty! It can accommodate comfortably up to 15 pax if I’m not mistaken. We enjoyed our grilled dishes and loved the mushroom tacos. The food is yummy and the proximity to the chef preparing it is less than 5 meters. The food quality is excellent and so does its presentation. We tried grilled fish and lamb chops and we will certainly go back for something different. Their menu is enticing to explore. I think their edge is a very creative menu reaching fine dining standards without breaking the bank.

Delicious tacos!! I’ve been multiple times for taco night and love them all. Also loved their chili green beans and chili vegetables dishes.

Dined in at Tanau for at least 3-4 times during our recent visit to Bali. The restaurant is tiny but cozy, with friendly staffs and amazing food - they serve Western Indonesian Fusion, which is not an easy thing to do. On our first visit, we had a late lunch and tried their Garlic and Chili Prawn & Pork Chop. The food was so good (Garlic and Chili Prawn is my favourite!), we came back to try most of the menu items they have. The lovely owners told us about their weekly promotions, so we went back for their Taco Tuesdays (10k tacos), and Seafood Thursdays (10k for oysters/clams!). We could tell that every food we had were made with fresh ingredients. Finally, we also had the delicious Pandan Pannacotta for dessert. Will definitely come back and dine there on our next trip to Bali!!

Food is fantastic and I think the menu options are a bit unique in this area. Ordered blood clams (clam padang sauce) with sourdough & it’s so delicious. My friend took red snapper & it’s also very nice. Very recommended

I've been here twice and if you want to try a fusion foods of mixed with western and indonesian taste, then this is definitely a great place for eating in Berawa area. The place is cozy, neat, the staffs are friendly and dogs friendly. At first i order Garlic & Chili Prawn, it is spicy but it's good. The second time, i heard there's a taco promo, and so we order chicken and battered mushroom taco's (but the absolutely DELICIOUS one is the mushroom, it is to die for!!!), Snapper Grilled in Banana Leaf also good and the last is pork chop which absolutely delicious too and completed with drinking beer. I'm absolutely sure gonna come back again and trying other dishes when i go to bali again.

If you are looking for an upscale Indonesian cuisine with some twist (and reasonably priced), book a seat now bcs the long waiting list really worth the experience! My favorite were their salmon tataki and their wagyu skirt ❤️ But honestly everything was amazing. The owners who are also the chefs really took their time to chat with us to get some honest feedback. Such a great and intimate dining experience!

So good ! The owners a young couple that cook delicious and heartfelt dishes! The experience is so nice, the staff truly takes care of you and we had the sliders, French fries and dessert and everything was delicious ! A true restaurant to try if you are in the Berawa area!

Had an amazing lunch at Tanau. We ordered Chilli & Garlic Prawn, Battered Mushroom Tacos, and Truffle Fries. The spices and flavours were extremely impressive. Definitely will visit again and try more of their menu

Ordered food here for lunch and it was lovely. The burger was cooked well, the sauce in particular was amazing in my opinion. Also ordered truffle fries and chicken betutu tacos, which was a delicious take on western Indonesian fusion. Well worth the delivery from Canggu to nusa dua!

The Tanau is a cozy little grill restaurant in Canggu. The service was excellent and the stylishly prepared food was stunning. I have not eaten so well in a long time.

Excellent food and fantastic service. Came here with little expectation other then the trust on a friend who recommended this little restaurant. I thought the fusion of Asian and western styles were done beautifully! I highly recommend this place.
