What a glorious meal. Start to finish everything was excellent. The signature cocktail classic pico sour is like nothing we ever tasted. The octopus was excellent with a wonderful smoky flavor. We have never had such wonderful steak with 3 amazing sauces that are completely different to the standard mustards and relished that most offer. The chicken was succulent and the spices so unique. The barramundi was so fresh and tender. And finally the desserts: each was amazing and were slightly unexpected in wonderful ways. We especially enjoyed the Pastel de Lava Blanca that paired with the raspberry sorbet beautifully. Can’t wait to return. But next time we might choose the set menu to get a better understanding of what is on offer as it was all so new to us.street parking just around the hotel after 6pm is free. hotel parking 10$ for 1 hour. Better book before you go.

Was highly recommended to us by friends, one from Peru and it did not disappoint. Beautiful produce treated with care and amazingly delicious flavours of Peru. Gustavo gave us great service and we will definitely come again. The Journey Menu gave us a great insight into flavours and now we can’t wait to try ordering off the a la carts menu.

We got the set menu. The food was okay. We were expecting an egg yolk in the egg yolk bun. But it's just a simple bun. The burnt cheesecake wasn't my fav. The service can be improved. For $95 per person, we were expecting a good service. Had to clean the prawn heads ourselves, spoon dropped on the floor, but the waiter returned the dirty spoon to me, kids were lectured for walking around the table. Not worth it to return.

First time to come. For our anniversary. Venue: Located next to the pool in Pan Pacific Hotel. Beautiful Peruvian themed decoration. It's not a very fine dining setting. Small tables. 8.3/10 Service: reached basic 5-star hotel standard. Polite, friendly, and not everyone was attentive. Not easy to flag a waitperson. No specific servers. Only waiters served with smiles. The young girls wwrw not bad but need more training. Tap water is available. They would introduce the menus (like a robot more) the first time you come. Reasonable waiting time between courses. If something is changed, not same as the menu, please tell the clients in advance. Or more elaborate when food served. Pay at the table or the cashier. 8/10 Food: tried the "Journey Through Peru" set, $ 105pp. Share dishes for the whole table. Good presentation. Same portion as al a carte dishes. Resonable price for environment and service. According to other reviews and photos, food/dishes were not very consistent. Lack of fabric ~ First course: There are 3 dishes. Beautiful presentation. Very good start - Nikkel Salmon: Every element was there. Good either in portion and flavor. --- 8.7/10 - Traditol Tropical: good presentation. Good combination. Unique sauce. Well-matched. --- 8.8/10 - Pan de Yema: Egg Yolk Bread with whipped feta & garlic dip and toasted buckwheat oil. Nice --- 8/10 ~Second course:There are 2 dishes. Simple presentation. No extra garnish. - Tequeños de Pollo: 2 long spring rolls with chicken fillings. Served very hot. Too hot and burn my mouth. Not enough resting time. Pastry wasn't crispy. The flavor and texture of chicken filling was ok. The ají emulsion as a dipping sauce was too watery. --- 6/10 - Anticucho: 2 Beef rump cap skewers on the bed of smoked potato purée. That one was yummy. --- 9/10 ~ Third course is the Main: - Cordero y Gulsantes: good presentation. the Braised Lamb shoulder was very tender, fell apart. Plenty of palmito & Kaffir Lime puree and greens. Toasted seed crumb was crispy. --- 8.5/10 - Yucas a la Huanciana: cassava chips were harder than potato chips. Good portion of chips with Huanciana sauce on the top. We prefer putting the sauce aside as a dipping sauce. Not enough sauce. Where is the olive salsa. Is it the black crumbles on the top? ????? --- 6.5/10 Where is the olive salsa? Does every waitperson and chef know all the courses well? ???? Last is dessert: - Tarta de Queso: claimed to serve with quinoa crumb and seasonal fruits. It's not look like a tart. The cheese Tart was ok. Plenty of Dulce de Leche. Not sure to taste the quinoa crumb, but sauce with the blue berries and half-cut strawberry were too sour to make us cough. Where is quinoa crumb? Changed. --- 5/10 Won't try the " journey through Peru" set if come again.

We came here for dinner and we had a good experience. The wait staff was helpful and attentive. The food was really well made and it was the first time I had Peruvian flavours. The egg yolk bread was fluffy and also rich. The cassava chips were light and the texture was interesting, as you chew it'll almost become like a firmer texture. The tiratido tropical was fresh and the acidity brightens the whole dish. The eggplant tiradito was interesting as the eggplant firms up to almost like a fish texture. The octopus and squid were crispy on the outside and flavourful. We also had a lamb shoulder, and a steak which came with 5 different sauces of different flavour profiles.

UMA came recommended by a friend and I also read all the 5-star reviews so perhaps my expectations were too high, but I found the food very underwhelming. We had the chef's choice menu and every dish was average - nothing was WOW unfortunately. Won't be going back.

The staff are amazing, the ambience is beautiful and a great location for formal dining experience. Didn't score the restaurant 5 points because the valet parking, included in the experience, is no longer provided because of Covid19

Amazing! Great place for a special event or for a special night out. The food was delicious. We had 5 dishes and only one of them was "ok", with everything else being delicious. The service was great! Really friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Marcos. The place has this amazing decor that makes you feel like you have traveled somewhere. The place is big enough but it feels cozy. And the music is just great Latin track one after the other. Also, the free valet parking service is a nice extra touch. Will definitely go again.

Uma is a sensational restaurant serving delicious Peruvian food and offering some interesting South American wines. We had excellent service from Louise, Vanessa, Isabella, and Marco. As it was our first visit we chose the Journey through Peru menu that offers four courses that provide diners with a sampling of the restaurant's food. We had two different ceviches with egg yolk bread and a whipped feta and garlic dip for the first course. I love ceviches, raw fish cooked in lemon sauce, with other ingredients added to enhance the taste. The second was a ragout of alpaca meat in a celeriac remoulade and potato and braised waygu croquettes. There was a bit of spice in the croquettes which we liked a lot. The alpaca had an interesting texture and flavour, a bit like beef but different. Course three was a creamy seafood rice with a spring salad. The creaminess of the rice, with squid, prawns, clams, and scallops was balanced by the preserved lemon salsa in it and grilled stone fruit in the salad. Dessert was a rich cream covered sponge cake with raspberry sorbet. Perfect for lovers of rich desserts. We had a glass each of an Argentinian rose and a Chilean pinot noir. They are well worth trying. The serves were large and very filling. Uma accepts major credit cards and there is disabled access. It offers complimentary valet parking subject to availability and limited to one vehicle per table. The entire experience was so good that we made another booking for next month.

If you’re looking for something different, Uma should be your go to and it will also become a new favourite for you! A contemporary twist on Peruvian classics, the dishes are fresh, zesty and full of flavour. The venue itself is beautiful and the team cannot so enough for you

I can't believe I did not try this place sooner! With zero experience on Peruvian cuisine I gave this place a go since me and my family stayed a night at Pan Pacific. I have to say, definitely need to try this place out, me and my wife did not disappointed at all. We had a look at the menu and can't decide what to have but our waitress gave us suggestions, It's a meal to share kind of cuisine, not your typical each person have their own entree, main and such which I find its good so that way we can try most of it but we ended up follow their fix price $75 Per person chef recommendation menu. Meals be based from what chef's recommendations what we should have which also includes entree, mains and such but with few extra dishes. All our meals came out spot on, no faults can be found. With fresh ingredients, well presented and balance portions as well. Every dishes was presented what it is which was great. As for customer service, thumbs up for their well trained customer service, not only helped us to decide but to explain what's best for first timer like us and explained to us on the dishes as well. As for deco, we loved it! Feels like we are in South America or in Peru! We definitely will be back again and have already suggested our friends and family to visit this place!

Deliciously creative menu, 5 star presentation, beautiful ambience, lovely staff and friendly service, 1st two courses came out quickly too, only the mains took a while (30mins) but it must have been an unusually busy night. All in all, beautiful experience. Thank you all.

Uma delivered beyond expectations. I hosted a very special family event for the first time at a restaurant instead of my home so understandably very nervous about how it would go. At the very beginning Paula took the booking, listened and made notes to assure a splendid evening. The service was excellent throughout the evening and the restaurant was packed! The menu was printed with our special event on it and dessert also highlighted the celebration. The food was superb, beautiful courses which flowed from one to the next, sublime and beyond our expectations, far more than we could eat. We had the Journey through Peru menu which delighted and satisfied everyone. The drinks did not disappoint in the least bit. Uma is a hidden secret we all need to know about, great service, excellent food and great ambiance for any type of celebration. Thanks to all the staff, booking, table service, chef and kitchen for making our occasion a very memorable and absolutely enjoyable one!

My Mum and I chose the Journey through Peru menu and we were so glad we did. My Mum upgraded to the paired wine option and was glad she did. My mocktails were also delicious. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic - every course was amazing. It was our first experience with Peruvian food but it certainly won't be our last! Lovely ambience and beautiful decor enhanced our dining experience.

From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable. Staff were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and on point. We tried the "Journey Through Peru" set menu, and it did not disappoint. The cured seafood was flavourful, the prawns marinated in a paprika style sauce with a chili lime hint. Amazing. The Wagyu rib eye was cooked perfectly and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The only course which we'd change was the desert. A creme caramel or something else would've ended the meal perfectly. Great night out, and we will be back!

Absolutely stunning Peru’s journal Spicy and happiness fried pork/ baked potato. The octopus skewer is fascinating! Definitely unbeatable in Perth ct. The fish crudo is a bonus on, worth try. The main is just about ok, interesting sauce though. The staff is extremely friendly, highly recommend! Will return in a soon time!

Went to uma for our anniversary and it was amazing. Favourite place in Perth at the moment. We opted for the chefs journey and we weren’t disappointed. The food was great but the customer service is what sets this place apart from others. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend to anyone.

This place has some of the best food that I've ever tasted The Cerviche Perano was simply amazing. The Anticuchos (beef skewers) were delightful with a lite smoke flavour The lamb shoulder was tender and the signature chicken dish (Pollo Asado) amazing All matched really well with a whisky sour

First time for Peruvian restaurant. Absolutely loved it. It was a special winery pairing dinner. My favorite dish is octopus and deep fried seafood mix. The winery pairing was amazing.

The staff and hospitality are perfect, very polite and responsible. The food was excellent, but if you don't like raw food, mention it. I ordered one starter, but because it was a raw fish, I couldn't eat it. Butter bread was tasty. The stake was perfect. Cheese tart could be better than this; It didn't have taste. The drinks were nice. I have to mention again the atmosphere, pureness, hospitality, and quality were excellent.

We’ve been to Uma a few times and it never fails to disappoint. The food is exceptional, especially their seafood, they have an extensive wine list and the staff are very accommodating and knowledgeable. Great value too for this type of meal.

Uma's food and drinks were delightful. From start to finish, all dishes were close to perfection. We had all our dishes to share among 6 people and the opinion across the group was exactly the same. These guys are really doing it great. The service was super friendly and knowledgeable which helped us a lot to make our selection.

Food was amazing. Fish was fresh, steak and octopus were so tender, salads were yummy. 100% recommend this place. Couldn’t test the dessert because we weren’t hungry to begin with. Would have definitely have dessert if we had a room.

What an experience from start to finish! Mood lighting with beautiful back drops and relaxed atmosphere. Started off with the Uma specially a spritz. DELISH! The head of house paired our red wine, we had the chefs menu and it did not disappointment. My favourite were the kebabs and sweet potato puree, my partners the prawn civeche (loved as well). We will be back!!

More of a 3.5 out of 5. The cocktails were great. The raw fish dish was great. The service was great. It’s a really nice venue / decor / music. And the prices are reasonable. Everything was great except... probably one of the most important parts of a Peruvian meal: roasting the food over wood fire coals. Without that... what is it? I may be wrong, & I’m happy to be corrected, & will remove / amend my review if I am wrong. But I know what food tastes like when it is fresh / raw.... and then cooked using wood-fire coals. The beef skewers & potatoes we had actually tasted like they were pre-cooked earlier in the day, or even the day before, & then re-heated. The skewers had been put on some sort of grill... but I think it was gas. You can’t achieve an authentic taste in this way. I must add that the spices on the meat were exceptionally well done, & the presentation was great as well.

Absolutely amazing! We had the set menu and each dish was delivered to perfection. First time trying Peruvian and couldn't fault it. Everything just tasted fresh from the ceviche, octopus, trout, salad all the way to the fruits on the desert. Will be back for sure.

Booked this because we wanted to try their take on Peruvian food. We arrived early and they were able to seat us which was super nice. The pisco sour was perfect and we loved the Pan de Yama, papas and black Angus special for the main. Although the ceviches and tartare were a bit too salty which was a shame. But the service was very good as was the wine selection, lots of South American and local picks.

I’m editing this as I went back and the steak was perfect! As always service was amazing, from when we were seated and throughout the meal the staff were attentive but not overbearing. Great vibe, would go back for another steak!

The food was generally quite nice but it was let down by the majority of the service staff who seemed friendly enough but didn't know what was going on with the food or the paired wines. The only exception was the young lady who seemed to be the maitre d' and did a good job.

One must ask why isn't Peruvian food more well known for its delicate flavours and depth of ingredients. We sat down as a group of 8 shared multiple dishes of the $75 Chefs choice plus included the Alpaca "spring roll" meal. The seafood dishes such as the prawn and shark fish were so fresh and sauce just Devine. The lamb came off the bone patiently slow cooked and once again the sauce and coriander dressing so fresh and compliments the palate cleanser. I have to say forgot the drink we had to start although the tones of Peruvian sour was pleasantly different to anything I've tasted. Found the environment not too noisy, nice space between guests. Some comfortable lighting and staff very knowledgeable and attentive. Each meal they explained as it came out which was all on time. Highly recommended.

Dined in Jan. (Just managed to get photos from my old phone) The food was delicious however have to mark the venue down due to the overall experience. We were a table of 5. We looked at the menu and opted to get the 'journey' ($89pp (minimum of 2, best shared with the whole table according to the menu). Not having been here before we had 3 of us go on the journey. One of our guests ordered her own variety of items from the menu and was told by the waiter that he will make it a 4th journey and switch dishes. When the food came out we were told you couldn't make your own journey as it was a set menu. That was fine by her as she initially ordered them separate. What was rude was the team meeting that was held next to our table discussing the menu change. When the custard desserts from the journey came out there was 2 desserts between 3 people. When we asked what happened to the third the waiter explained it is 1 dessert per journey and that we actually got an extra half making it 2. If this is the case the journey should be altered to something along the lines of '$178 for a journey for 2' rather than advertising it as a 2 ppl minimum order. The food was delicious and we can't fault the food however the confusion around what is provided on the journey should be made clear and the staff should not suggest altering our order to create a journey if this is not an option. It was quite embarrassing and took away from our overall experience.

Excellent food and variety of drinks. Ordered the grilled squid and octopus as appetisers and 1.4kg Tomahawk. The Tomahawk was cooked to perfection - Medium rare. The only downside was there was no proper steak knifes so we were struggling a little with the knifes provided. The sauce accompaniment for the Tomahawk was delicious as well - salsa, chimichuri. The desserts were excellent too. A nice experience, although I think the restaurant was a little short handed with staff so sometimes it was a little difficult to get the attention, just need a little patience.

Highly attentive service, every request was met beyond our expectations. Will definitely be back to try out other dishes.

Uma started off fantastic with the chef's menu with the shared plates of ceviche. These dishes were fantastic with hints of spicy but not too spicy with lovely flavours. The second course consisted of beef cap on skewers and a stuffed tacu tacu squid. The beef cap was delicious but the stuffed squid tasted very fishy and bland, I only had one bite. The third course was some brilliantly spiced roasted chicken with heirloom vegetables. However, we had to wait over an hour for our dessert to arrive. We were the first people to order at the restaurant and other people that arrived after us got their dessert before us. We had to ask where our dessert was and they said it was on the way, we suspect it was forgotten. The cheese tart was more of a cheese cake or cheese sponge cake and I wasn't a fan of it. Uma started off really well but didn't end on a high note.

Went on a date with my partner and had the chefs selection for $70pp. Ceviche was ok, skewers and alpaca next level. For the price I would have liked a little bit more on the plate. The flavours were spot on in every dish. Drinks - definitely One of the better espresso martini’s we have had. Pisco sour is always a goer when dining at a Peruvian restaurant.

Wasn't wow'd by the chefs menu. For $75, would have expected better quality of food. The fish ceviche for starters was passable, the octopus was nice. The trout for mains was a fave but the chicken was ok. The meringue with fruits for dessert was nice if you like meringue. The salad and potatoes (thought we were going to get yucca but instead got potatoes) were ok. Overall, I'm not sure how authentic the food is (even if fusioned) and defo not worth the price. Wouldn't come back for anything other than the trout fish.

And next is to stay and relish in a hotel where as a guest you feel every bit special. Forget the Ritz, uma in pan pacific sets the benchmark others wish they could only reach.

(Translated by Google) I am Peruvian so, my expectations were high, the food is not bad but do not expect to find something really Peruvian. The pisco sour was great. (Original) Soy Peruana así, que mis expectativas eran altas, la comida no es mala pero no esperes encontrar algo realmente Peruano. El pisco Sour estuvo buenísimo.

A beautiful dining experience with delicious food and drinks, Uma is a small taste of Peru that brings something truly unique to Perth. The rump cap skewers are sensational and the care and presentation of all the dishes was divine. Ellen was a wonderful host who made us feel welcome and ensured we enjoyed our experience from the moment we walked in. Will definitely be back when the a la carte menu returns!

Went there for a chef's choice dinner for two (Covid-19 menu) In all honesty, one of the best meals we've had in Perth for a while now! What a refreshing, well constructed dishes we got served! The prawns ceviche was OMG!!! Better than all the oysters I've ever eaten. Was so fresh and every mouthful tasted like a gift from the ocean. All the other remaining dishes were top notch too. I highly recommend to anyone living in Perth to go in and treat themselves with some Peruvian food.

Can't recommend enough. Food was one of the most unique experiences I've had in years. Ceviche was glorious, and the understated naming of the beef skewers belies the melt in your mouth texture and rich palette of flavour. Do this for an anniversary or date night and you won't be disappointed. Lastly, have a cocktail for the first course then (if you're a red drinker) definitely buy a bottle of the Ventisquero Pinot Noir. It was not only the best Pinot I've had for years, but also a fresh complement to the dishes that followed.

First time last night at UMA. Decided to go to UMA's as it promotes Western Australian seafood and produce and had awesome reviews. This little gem of a restaurant did not disappoint. We had the $69 set menu. That fresh made brioche bun with whipped feta and roasted garlic - oh my goodness, just delicious. The first course Shark Bay fish ceviche was outstanding. Same with the Treeton farm beef rump skewers. The potato puree - I kept scraping the plate to get every last drop of it. The Shark Bay fish and cuttlefish in Peruvian creamy sauce matched perfectly with the Solterito Salad. By this stage we were well and truly satisfied. We had desert to go and managed to eat the sorbet and raspberry sauce however found the milk soaked sponge cake just too heavy. I'm sure if we had not filled up on the other dishes we may have eaten more. All in all, a great evening with exceptional service, food and the ambience. Total compliments to the Chef and all the staff. We will definitely be back. Lyn and Pete.

Unique and delicious food, never thought I’d eat raw fish but the ceviche is amazing and the pisco sours are *chef kiss hand*

Great place for a late dinner service. We came had a 9:30pm booking, there was a bit of a hiccup and we didn't get our food or drinks until about 10pm. But everything was sensational and packed full of flavour. We had the 4 course degustation and can't fault a single dish served.

First time having Peruvian cuisine in Perth. Beautiful open space design. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely staffs. Our group of 18 tried the Journey Menu, absolutely loved every dish, cerviche to beef rump cap to the 8 hour slow cooked pork belly, all beautifully cooked and well presented.

Very average food and really poor service. Only have the choice of degustation on Saturday night so basically the kitchen as only to produce 7 dish for the whole day. First course of cevice were good the rest very poor. Mini portion of beef with a cold salad ( you do better at home with the rest from the fridge). For main course a discusting kind of fish curry, basically a curry fish through on the plate with some dry pieces of fresh and calamari not even seasoned with the same kind of salad that you have with the previous dish. The dessert, below anything, a pudding that still cold at the bottom with a coulis from a defrosted puree bought in mix and a poor ice cream from the supermarket ( if it's home made, looking at the quality, don't bother making it yourself). Wine list is similar to a poor bottle shop. The service is pathetic, poor kids lost in a restaurant with no one with an idea of how to run a restaurant.

The service was very good, table space was good, the food was well balanced, tasty and although the 6 course had small portions by the time the final dessert came we were both satisfied and pleasantly full.

Finally the full menu has been back and shows the Peruvian cuisine at it's best. The Pisco Sour couldn't have been any better then down south. The Ceviche was fresh and big enough for an entree. Some cubes could have been cleaned of the tough edges but the marinade was beautiful. For the main I had the Risotto Marinara and it did not disappoint with a nice balance of rice and seafood. Having some Malbec with it made it a beautiful dinner.

Absolutely delicious food and lovely service. Good wine, had the festive menu with wine pairing and enjoyed every single dish. Fresh food and well made, everything was nicely portioned and cooked perfectly. Would absolutely return, this is a hidden gem!
