We visited this large and lovely park. There are nice walking paths, a bridge, fountains, statues and lots of flowering plants. There is a great view of Perth city from here. The park is well maintained with beautiful lawns too. A great place to visit for some greenery and fresh air.

I had a lovely day with my family at Kings Park. We love to picnic there as they so many thing to do with kids The view of our beautiful city perched on the edge of the Swan is always pleasing to the eye. The gardens are very colourful at the moment. We always feel very relax after a good walk through Kings Park.

What an incredible park! It’s absolutely huge and every area beautifully kept. There’s loads to admire and explore throughout and the signage for ‘attractions’ is good. Views over the city are amazing and there’s a good cafe / restaurant with plenty of parking at one end. History, nice walking bridges, more natural wild areas and picnic areas - there’s something for everyone. Everyone should explore here on a first visit to the city.

Ein wirklich toller und großer Park den man mit dem Taxi in wenigen Minuten erreicht. Man kann hier super entspannen und es gibt viel zu entdecken. Von einer Aussicht über Perth bis hin zu einem Baobab wird hier viel geboten.

Breathtaking views of city and beyond. A beautiful collection of native Australian plants in bloom. This is a must do when you drop into Perth. Wide open parkland for those wanting the relaxed picnic, interspersed with walking tracks for those a bit more adventurous. Strategically located throughout the site are memorials so that we may never forget those who have served our country. Well worth the visit.

The best lookout location of the city and the swan river is at Kings Park which was absolutely spectacular especially on a bright sunny day and also at sunset when the city skyline lights up. This place was one of my favourite places in Perth to visit. If ever you need a place to see the whole city from a top then kings park is the place to be.

It's probably the best area of Perth. Lots of walking, great views, chilled atmosphere. Need a few visits to really appreciate. Morning afternoon or evening a good place to go. Take a picnic and a cold bottle of your favourite tipple!

Really huge park with lots of scenic views, places to sit, flora and fauna to explore, and paths to walk on - all for free! Perfect for families, with a clean and friendly environment. Great place to take pictures of oneself and of the landscapes around. I went there as a tourist and I believe it is a must-visit if you're in Perth.

How can I describe this huge park? No wonder it's a must-visit while in Perth! You can see the complete view of Perth CBD and Swan River at the park. Definitely recommended 👌 It has also a few trails to walk (even almost like you're doing bush walking).

Came here on a hot summer day and while we nearly melted to death we really enjoyed the gardens / park. This is such a cool place I could see how people spend every weekend here the views are amazing, the gardens are spectacular / beautiful and the amount that there is to do is unbelievable. We only spent a few hours here due to the hot weather but we would come back for sure. The blue cat (free) drops you off right at the entry which is so convenient. There is no entry fee to the gardens either which is really great. There are a few walks you can do which are outlined on the information sign. We took the 1hr walk and it was about 1.5hrs after all our stopping & looking. Lots of Aussies were there for a jog and for food at the cafe (forgot to take pics). I would highly recommend to come back for a full morning of walking and eating at the cafe which looked to have a really nice selection of food. Note: if visiting Perth for the first time do note that they have free city bus transportation called CAT that will take you to all the sights for free! So convenient and did I say free! There are blue, yellow, red and purple line (if I remember correctly). You can download the CAT app too to check bus arrival timings but most of the buses were white frequent, we never waited more than 5-7min.

The most beautiful displays of Australian flora that I've ever seen. Incredible views of the city and surrounding bodies of water. Lots of easy walk ways and interesting bridges, pretty accessible even for wheelchairs for most of the park (some hills when you get deeper in). Cafe and restaurant on site with an icecream spot. Lots of picnic areas and free parking on site. Be sure to look up any events happening as they have some pretty cool light shows etc. War memorial and art gallery on site near each other.

Beautiful gardens overlooking the city and the sea. There were lots of colourful flowers and plants to see here, there is a lovely walk around the gardens, with fountains, themed areas and a great cafe. If you are in Perth then the park is definitely worth visiting, for the gardens as well as the fantastic views.

Beautiful park with a superb view of the Elizabeth Quay, the Swan River and South Perth area. The botanic garden is free to visit and while I am not an enthusiast I could see lots of photographers snapping pictures of plans and flowers. The state war memorial is worth checking out too.

Sadly, I've only given 4 stars due to my experience at The Botanical Cafe (see my review) but Kings Park, itself was amazing, in fact; my dog would give it 10 stars - he had the time of his life. Everything was so green, & the cleanliness surprised me, especially when taking the rest of Perth into account. It was spotless. The grounds staff must go above & beyond. The views over Perth were incredible, and as it was a clear sunny day, we were able to see for miles. Definitely, take your camera when visiting, as it's so scenic. There were nice quiet, shaded spots to sit if you wanted a moment alone, or busier areas if you want to feel a tourist in your own city. If you need a place to sit & read, or even, do as I did; & take your pup somewhere different. It's the place to go. It was a day out I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful huge well kept park/gardens. One of my favourite places to visit. Love all the native plants and flowers. Gorgeous Perth city and swan River views during the day. And at night the views of the city are beautiful, where the city lights up like a Xmas tree. Spend the day having a picnic or exploring. Has a cafe if you're feeling peckish or thirsty. Highly recommend the visit. 😊

Pristine kept park and grounds. Unmatched view on Perth center and a beautiful, well designed and planned war memorial. Doubtlessly a habitual place to walk about or spend a weekend afternoon for locals. It would certainly be that for me if I lived here. Either way, a must visit destination for visitors!

The botanical event and art exhibition in 2023 was a brilliant way to spend the day or even just an afternoon. Take some time to admire the park and it's beauty and the flowers when they are in bloom. Lovely park for family or just to enjoy the outdoors.

As a photographer, Kings Park is a favourite for both daytime and night-time photoshoots. I primarily take images of weddings, engagements and some family photo shoots, and with the abundance of scenic views, greenery, and flowers, Kings Park really delivers! I love the small quieter areas, as well as the big open grounds which are overlooking the city. It's a must-see location for visitors, and a great place to consider doing a photo shoot.

Literally too many photos of beautiful flowers to upload all of the best ones here - every photo I took turned out extraordinary! Go see the flowers! The botanical section will take your breath away! And if you're able to, get a guided tour with one of the knowledgeable volunteers! Spring has sprung, and so have the flowers of Kings Park! 🍃🌷🌼🌸🐝

No doubt, this is the nicest place in Perth and one of the most beautiful places in Australia during Spring when the WA wild flowers come to life. The area is a nice balance between running tracks, areas to picnic, gardens, hospitality venues and of course, unrivalled views of the Perth cityscape - beautiful at any time but even more so at dawn and dusk.

We acknowledge the Nyungaar people and their elders past present and upcoming as the original and traditional custodians of the land on which the park was built. Stunning park with such a diverse array of flora and includes spectacular views. It also has very good walking trails that are ok for varying abilities … there’s a good couple restaurants and it’s also a great place for weddings.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden Visited on 25/5/2022 It is a very, very big park, 400.6 hectares to be precise. It has picturesque background of the Swan River and Perth city skyline. The park incorporates the State War Memorial and Botanic Garden. It is not a floral garden as such, and therefore it lacks the colour and vibrance. Nonetheless, it is still a great park in the Perth city, with vast area of green "manicured" lawn. The Botanic Garden are "zoned" with different types of plants of Australian origin. Besides being easily accessible, it has plenty of carparks. One can also take a break and have a cuppa and snack at the Cafe.

I've visited King's Park many times across the years, and each time it becomes more impressive. Since my last visit quite a number of years ago, numerous improvements have been made to lookouts, walk trails, signage, and the park areas and facilities. A spectacular place to visit with beautiful views, lots to explore, and impressive facilities, including multiple options for grabbing a bite to eat. It can be very busy at times, and the main parking lots can get full at certain times of the day, as we experienced on our visit. But it's well worth coming here, and not just visiting the main area, but exploring other areas of the park as well.

This is a great place! There are so many walking paths and routes to take to see all the statues and memorials. The view from the War Memorial is breathtaking and I was surprised to find out that the park is dog-friendly. This was my first time there but I will definitely go back and have a picnic or take a solo stroll through the Roe Garden. I love that there are signs detailing the uses of some of the native flora. I can't wait to go back!

We were a bit surprised to find not as many flowers as we expected. But it was still a blast. We stumbled upon some of our favorite plant varieties, and even some we didn't recognize. It's all part of the fun and exploration at Kings Park and Botanical Garden. Now, let's talk about the glass bridge – it's nothing short of spectacular. When you step onto that bridge, you're greeted with jaw-dropping views of the Swan River and a side of the city you've probably never seen before. It's a visual treat that makes the visit worthwhile. What's even better is that you can take a leisurely stroll along the bridge. Picture this: a sunny spring day, a gentle breeze, and the aroma of blooming flowers in the air. It's like a scene from a dream. The fresh air is invigorating, and the view is pure eye candy. So, sure, there might not have been as many flowers as we hoped, but Kings Park and Botanical Garden delivered an unforgettable experience. It's a place where you can enjoy nature, discover new plants, and soak in some of the most breathtaking urban views you'll ever encounter. Definitely worth a visit! 🌿🌉🌼

Kings Park is such a lovely place to visit in the heart of Perth. It has something for everyone....great walking tracks, fabulous views, interesting history, well equipped playgrounds. Then there are the gardens- amazing, no matter what time of year you visit. And there is always plenty of seating & shady spots to relax. It is dog friendly too. The public bus system goes through the park so it is very accessible. Definitely recommended for locals & visitors!

Excellent place for a family picnic. Extremely crowded during peak days like public holidays so you should plan your picnic in advance so as to not struggle for parking spots. The botanic garden may take up to 2 hours for a thorough walk-through so make sure to have healthy heels and good sneakers.

Kings Park is a 400.6-hectare (990-acre) park overlooking Perth Water and the central business district of Perth, Western Australia. The park is a mixture of grassed parkland, botanical gardens and natural bushland on Mount Eliza with two-thirds of the grounds conserved as native bushland.[1][5] Offering panoramic views of the Swan River and Darling Range, it is home to over 324 native plant varieties, 215 known indigenous fungi species and 80 bird species. It is the most popular visitor destination in Western Australia, being visited by over five million people each year. Besides tourist facilities Kings Park contains the State War Memorial, the Royal Kings Park Tennis club and a reservoir. The streets are tree lined with individual plaques dedicated by family members to Western Australian service men and women who died in World War I and World War II. The park is also rich in fauna (both native and imported) and during September of each year Kings Park hosts Australia's largest wildflower show and exhibition – the Kings Park Festival.

Beautiful, stunning, views of Perth and surrounds indescribable. Just saw a small portion of this magnificent park. Will be back to see more. Go there and experience this, either walking or a picnic or just lay down and enjoy the serenity of Kings Park. You are in a different world only minutes from Perth City.

  • 5/5 Melinda Z. 3 years ago on Google
The most lovely park in all of Western Australia and the best place to view Perth City. The walking tracks meander through the park and the plants on display are amazing. The war memorial and eternal flame make this the ideal place for reflection as well as peaceful wandering. Great place to bring the family for an outing.

Even on a hot summer's day, you can sit in the shade of the big trees and enjoy a nice picnic with your friends and family. Beware of the naughty kookaburras who will swoop in from the trees to steal your food 🤣 Otherwise, the ducks and magpies are pretty friendly and come pretty close to where you're sitting in search of food 😊 The bus from the city to Kings Park is free of charge so you can drop by anytime to take a break from the hustle bustle of routine life. The views from here are beautifu- the stark difference between how everything looks at night and during the day is stunning. Car parking available but nothing beats a good walk. There are cycles for rent available as well.

Awesome park. There is so much to do and see in this Park- take a walk or a bike ride, so many different areas to explore with some outstanding vistas towards the city and the river. Definately a place to take the visiting family tourists from overseas, to truly give them a glimpse of how amazing Perth can be.

Beautiful slice of nature with the best views of Perth CBD. Cafes, playgrounds, walks, monuments and the gift shop are all good too. Great spot for a picnic, plenty of shady spots for summer days. Parking can be busy in the main car park, but there is plenty of other parking around the park and the buses from the CBD go into the park.

Always a lovely time here, whether it's for a jog, a walk, a picnic or just lying on the grass and soaking in the views. There are quite a few options for shorter or longer walks in the Botanic Garden; make sure to take the opportunity to check them out. A few cafes offer refreshments and there's more than enough space for picnics. Unparalleled views of the city while listening to birds and waterfalls. It's just amazing to have something so great so close to the CBD.

Kings Park is an absolute jewel in the crown of Perth City. There in the middle of a metropolis, as cars zoom around, buildings reach for the sky and millions of people go about their daily lives in this vast sprawl of humanity, this refuge of bushland rises above. To have this beautiful piece of nature accessible to all is wonderful. The maintenance and care shown to this Park makes it a pleasure to visit, and it’s easy enough to find peace and contentment on the busiest of days to recharge your soul.

Great place for a pleasant stroll, either alone or with family. Best to visit the shops and information center first, as maps are nearly essential for making the most out of your visit. The signs on the path can be far apart and may not include all the places you're looking to visit. The views are majestic, and the greenery is unmatched.

Come and spend some time here! Buses including the free Blue Cat access the park.

Kings Park is beautiful, with some fantastic viewpoints to the river. It has a variety of vegetation (with small plaques giving the botanical name and large signs explaining the animals and plants) and there are several walks of varying lengths. One of the highlights is the glass bridge. Definitely a great and well-maintained park in the middle of Perth with free entry. Also good for families with children or people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users.

What a beautiful park, and the cool weather definitely made it even better! So many things to see and so many things to do. We claimed towers, walk across beautiful bridges, marvel at the picturesque view down to Swan River. And we had fun using the escooters, such a convenient way to sightseeing - should have it all over the city, we didn't see them when we were walking around the city center to china town, bell towers etc.

Fantastic experience at the Rio Tinto Naturescape in Kings Park. We were there when it was drizzling rain and everyone in our group from the 3yr old to the 68yr old still had an adventurous and wonderful time. The facilities are spectacular, easy to navigate but still challenging, and you feel like you could keep exploring for days.

It is an incredibly beautiful place, with spectacular views. Very relaxing and with plenty of space to spend a very pleasant time with friends or family. If you go to Perth, you have to visit this place. Clean restrooms. In the parking lot they have signs not to leave valuable belongings in the cars since there are people who break the windows, in our case nothing happened.

Kings Park and Botanical Garden is a great place for one to do your runs, ride your bikes, complete your personal exercise routines, have a catch-up coffee with your friends as well as pay your respects to the dearly departed. Lovely find in the middle of Perth. A must-see if you are visiting CBD! It's a very beautiful Botanical Garden with its elevated walkway .... There are so many different places to explore and check out it definitely can’t be fine in just one day! Loads of playgrounds for older and younger kids, walking tracks, memorials etc. I spent a couple of hours exploring this really well-designed botanic garden. Well worth an afternoon I must say .... Incredible view of the Swan River to the tranquil atmosphere and the CBD view was just breathtaking... it's an ideal spot for a peaceful getaway or to spend some alone time!. It is one of Perth's highlights. Highly recommended!

  • 5/5 Cheryl Y. 6 months ago on Google
Absolutely stunning with great information on the native flora. I knew it was diverse but not how much! For example, even Kings Park only has 60 of the 580 odd species of Acacias. Many of the varied other species of trees, shrubs, flowers etc. they have growing, are being rescued from being critically endangered! Good on them 👌🤩👏🏻

A lovely park but probably not the best activity during the 30 to 40 degree heat. We drove around a little but most of the points of interest require walking / following some path or track. The view of the CBD is lovely. May come back during a cooler season!

It's not just the perfect view of the river from here... Ursula our volunteer guide gave us the best tour of this biggest inner city botanical garden in the world yesterday morning! Her energy and enthusiasm doesn't fade over the long 90 minutes walk, and truly puts us to shame. She came equipped with maps, photos, and many fruits and seeds for her illustration. Twice a month she gives a tour, but spends much more time with her husband (together with 20 other volunteers) managing the plants and weeds around this giant garden! You may be able to spot some volunteers in one of my photos here caring for the plants :) I have high praises for Albert the contractor who, also included in the background of a photo here) mows the perfect lawn (weed invisible!!).

John Forrest gave a wonderful legacy to WA. He wanted people in 1000 years to see what he saw. This is the most beautiful botanical gardens I have seen around the world. With fabulous views of the Swan and Canning rivers. And the 100s of hectares of natural bush close to the city is almost unbelievable.
