Highly recommend this place for fish lovers. We went there as complete newbies, looking for fish for our pond. The young girl who assisted us was very knowledgeable and helped us finding what we were looking for. Incredible range of fish, decorations, equipment and all sort of things you need for your aquarium. Staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great aquarium fish shop great range of fish and plants. This is one of the very few shops that I will buy fish from and the manager is great too always helpful and as are all the staff. The only negative is it needs to be a bit bigger because it gets over crowded with not much room to look at the fish and product as there are to many people around but that doesn't stop it from getting a 5 star rating

Small aquarium shop but so many fish. I feel like I’m walking in a fish tank. We have adopted many fish from here and they are all still going strong . Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and are all about the health of the fish. My 13 year old daughter asks to visit every weekend just to look at them and pick the brains of the staff for her aquariums at home. We never leave empty handed though. Even if it’s just a few more snails. Below is a recent purchase of a male fighting fish.

These guys know their stuff. In 30yrs of aquarium keeping I'm impressed with the advice and knowledge. They're not cheap, but cheap and good quality don't often go together when fish keeping is involved. Excellent squad!

I've been searching for a male bristlenose and the pipe but the last three aquariums were out. Its a touch out of the way but these guys have the range. I've been here before had my turtle tank custom made by them. Definitely worth the trip got a handsome male with a fabulous crown and my two lady bristlenoses are not leaving him alone.

Smiths Aquarium is amazing. I went there today with a problem and they hallows me in every way that they could. They helped reassure me and also gave me some tips as well. The staff there are so friendly and helpful and I thank every single one of them for their amazing work.

Great aquarium store to get all fish needs. Plenty of different sorts of fish, even sting rays. Very busy store with helpful staff. All fish have clean tanks and look healthy. Great store to check out fish tank set ups. It is worth checking out this store for a spectacular fish display.

I have been visiting this shop for the last 2 years. The best quality products and fish. Now I also started keeping shrimps as a hobby and have bought them from this store as well. I was given heaps of information on how to start a shrimp tank and really good knowledge of what I need to start a tank. The staff are very knowledgeable and always helpful. I would highly recommend this place as the best aquarium store!

Bit expensive.but it's the old saying..you get what you pay for..for example bought fish from a well known place. And they all had something wrong with them. & died within a couple of days or developed some problems....Smith's Aquarium fish are top notch. And you can see that in the fish..they are very vibrant..very colourful & very active..so if your not bothered paying that little extra give these guys ago..you will not be disappointed..

I moved to Brisbane 4 years ago and thought I was spoiled for choice in Sydney, nope.... Smith's Aquarium is my local (even though I live in Cleveland) it's always worth the trip up there to see what's new in store. Super friendly staff that actually know what they're talking about and are actually happy to offer advice if you need it. Clean tanks,Healthy looking livestock at great prices and knowledgeable staff... What more do you need from an Aquarium Store? Definitely the number 1 freshwater aquarium in Brisbane hands down.

I travel a long way to shop here because this is the best place for service and healthy fish. Malcolm is amazing and all of his advice was spot on and really helped me. He was so patient and friendly helping me select some new fish for my aquarium. All of the fish he selected for me not only survived but thrived! Such healthy happy fish at this aquarium shop. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. We purchased an $80.00 African cichlid and it died not even 2 days later. We tested the water and it’s fine and no issues with the couple other fish we have in the tank. Don’t buy fish from here unless you want to waste your money and then get abused and chased out the store as you try to leave because you are being treated and spoken to so poorly. We were accused of being aggressive when simply just explaining the situation. We were then ushered around the aquarium as the manager tried to move us and our concerns away from any other perspective customers. We were made to feel like we were making it up and at no point was the manager understanding or helpful when we raised our concerns. Do not buy anything from this place or these people.

Reasonable variety of live stock with some great finds to be had. Live stock were all in fantastic condition, clearly very well looked after. One of the last LFS in Brisbane to stock feeder fish, shame they're so far away from me or I'd be in regularly just for the feeders. Staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, making for a good overall experience. Some very nice display tanks here as well which help for inspiration. Very nice overall atmosphere, however the space itself is poorly utilised. All of the live stock and half of the dry goods are crammed into one half of the shop. I didn't even realise the other half existed until I was halfway through checking out. The other half houses a small number of aquatic plants and some dry goods in the corner. This half is sparsely stocked, in direct contrast to the other half which is so crammed it's impossible to get down some of the tank aisles if someone else is in the aisle. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a look, would be great if they spread things out a little better, and made the other half of the shop more obvious.

Awesome place to buy plants for fish food and also for any related fish products and accessories. The lady who assisted me this afternoon is very helpful and she even gave me discounts for the plants I bought because I wanted to purchase as much as I could! She is knowledgeable and insightful to give me tips/ tricks for 'low maintenance" especially for us who are going away in a little while. This place is highly recommended!

Had my first visit 2 Smiths recently and was presently surprised at what I found. Store and staff a very good and the range of fish is stellar. It really doesn’t look much from the outside but it’s a different story once you walk in and I’ll definitely be back. My only gripe would be the premium prices particularly on things like filters and other hardware. Some items were waaaay above what they can be found for elsewhere.

These folks were very busy when we arrived but when it was our turn it was lots of advice and plenty of fish and other options on offer. They even gave us a discount for having to wait. I have no price comparison for anywhere else as a fish newby but I would happily recommend this business. Parking is a little tight if you have a large vehicle.

Great range of accessories, great staff

I recently ordered an aquarium through Smiths and their service and products are really great. Mark helped me load the aquarium into my car andexplained the workings of the Fluval FX-6 to me during a busy Saturday and Andrew took time with me over the phone to discuss LED’s. And of course the fish stock is excellent! Definetly recommend!

Staff were very attentive and the fish looked very healthy which is always a plus. The range of aquarium products and fish was huge. as far as tanks and live plants go there isn't many options but also they can't really fit much more into such a tiny store! Great place to visit if you already have your tank set up otherwise I don't know how much they would be able to offer you.

Bought 6 guppies, 1 snail and 1 tetra neon fish for my partner as surprise. Unfortunately, it turn up another surprise that I was told those guppies looked so ugly , small and almost no colour. They were 3 for $25. After we went to Pet Barn, I then understood why my partner was disappointed. The guppies at Pet Barn were double the size and cheaper, more colourful. What upset me the most was, 1 of the male guppies died on day 4. I contacted the shop and see if I can get the 14 days livestock warranty like other pet shops do for customers, one of the staff said they do not provide livestock warranties. I expected buying fish from aquarium should be more better looked after, but no! The staff told me to bring the water sample to test. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the water as all other fish and snail I bought were perfectly fine. It was just the sick fish I got from them. Will never return there.

Not a giant shop but they had everything. Fabulous place just to take the kids for a look. Fish of all kinds and sizes , even stingrays, some really large, you can see there. They fill the whole place even above you. The prices are very good and the service is prompt and informative. I will be going there again soon.
