Having not done a huge amount of research, I stumbled upon the CFC via Google - and boy am I glad I did. My initial consultation with Dr Oosthuizen was helpful and informative. They were flexible around my changing timeline and accommodated my cycle when my flight got delayed and we had just enough time. Dr Mathabese did the final consult and extraction and was gentle and supportive. I appreciate the way the team managed my expectations, explained everything clearly, and made me feel secure and reassured. Highly recommend this team - and the process itself! As a working woman in my mid thirties - living through a pandemic - it’s given me a sense of optionality. Tip: use an ice block to numb your skin when injecting each day! Makes all the difference.

This place is amazing including all staff. I never thought I’d have a baby of my own until I met Dr. Heylen. I’d recommend him to anyone... He’s loaded with lots of experience!

Attended clinic 12 years ago and saw Dr Heylen for a period of about 2 years. He is excellent and professional and comes highly recommended.

My advise : stay away from this clinic. We wanted to benefit from an egg donation then an IVF. 1)Doctor Heylen did not check the age of the donor at the time of the egg retrieval and affirmed we had a 50% chance of live birht sucess. 7 eggs were fertilised. We found out afterward that the donor was 44 years old and that we had a 5% chance. We came from London, Dc Heylen knew it. He confessed that the Lab did not check the egg quality nor he checked the age of the donor before giving us this estimate of 50% chance. 2) while there is a 95% average survival rate of the eggs during the thawing process, during the second thaw, all eggs were lost. 3) I had to take a treatment to prepare for the IVF (which never occurred, given the above) no medical advice were given post treatment. When we outlined errors mentioned in 1) and 2) Doctor Heylen sent an e mail to mention that he would cease all communication. While certain staff from the clinic are very kind and professional, I can only recommend, based on my very bad, sad and costly experience, to stay as far as possible from Dc Heylen.

Cape Fertility clinic is a place of joy ☺️ I’m impressed of high professionalism and kindness of each member of a team. We came there as foreigners, when we visited Cape Town as tourists. We didn’t expect that we will be able to get consultation and checkup in a short notice. But likely we met Heidi (coordinator and nurse) who listened us and organized everything we needed. Heidi, thank you a lot for help, support, time and communication 🫶🏻 During consultation we met dr. Pottow. She is such an incredible person. She gave us hope and plan for the future. She explained a lot of things which was not clear, answered all of hundred questions we had, gave us recommendations what we should do. Thank you, dr Joanne, Heidi and all Cape Fertility team for being so cool ☺️

Best fertility clinic ever . Dr Oosthuizen was sent to us like an angel . she was always so friendly I could email her literally on the silliest questions that I had and she would always respond . Thank you Dr Oosthuizen to all your hard work I am now 8 and a half months.

Dr Heylen and Nazeema are absolutely fantastic. All the other Doctors and staff are also friendly and welcoming. Best place ever!

Dr Heylen is a wonderful doctor and seems to have been lucky enough to find his true calling in life! I have never had such a great experience with any other doctor. CFC is a great center. There are professional and kind. I followed my treatment there and got my first child and what I can say is a special thank to Dr Matebese, a great and professional specialist. I really recommend the centee. Thank you.

Not recommend for women going through perimenause or menopausal symptoms as I've now suffered for years because I was sent away "you've still got eggs, come back in a few years"... In my late 40's. So totally misdiagnosed. Watch Dr Susan and you'll be much more knowledgeable than than the gynecologist is saw.
