TL;DR: great place if you like busy places. Amazing things to see. A lot to do This place is really beautiful. There's so many shops and you can most likely find exactly what you're looking for. It is almost always very very busy. There is people everywhere and is not a bad busy but rather a party time busy. The restaurants is also really beautiful and have a great great view of all the boats coming in.

A beautiful vibrant place to experience. There are multiple stores to visit. There are multiple activities to do while you are here as well such as going on a cruise tour and experiencing fine dining or perhaps watching a concert, sounds surreal right? Except it's not. There are so many gasp worthy moments that leave you astonished at this establishment. You are certified to leave extremely exhausted here man, walking around alone is a journey, this place is humongous. Overall, i enjoyed exploring this trendy place. It was worth the hype. Cape Town has a special place in my heart.

Still one of the coolest places in Cape Town. The views, the vibe and even the shopping is amazing. There is something for everyone and you can be a tourist without feeling like one. Even though there are lots of restaurants, I would argue that on average you can probably eat better elsewhere in town, but then you don’t have the views…..guess you can’t have everything in life.

Super trendy! A real tourist attraction offering a lot of shops, restaurants, activities for kids and adults. It does not feel like you're in SA when you're here. I was impressed at how clean the area is.

A truly magical place during the festive season. V&A has so much to offer day & night. From the harbour boat rides, to the the restaurants and the entire mall. Nothing is better then the true African vibe the mall by the entertainment area. The guys who sing and perform there are amazing to watch, and they’re so entertaining and talented. The cape wheel looks beautiful at night. You can spot a bunch of seals by the harbour @ night. Absolutely love this place :) !

Def not your normal place in SA cape town. This is your typical clean modern elegant walkway you would expect like the America's. The cool part is the waterfront canal that runs through it. there's a water taxi you can ride on that gives you a bit of history about the area. The silo hotel is def too cool. they have a rooftop terrasse, but it's only reserved for hotel guests that pays nearly 1800$ a night. so that's pretty exclusive. But to get the same experience, head over to the museum next door , on top of the silos is their rooftop terrasse. you'll get the same feel with those cool bay windows overlooking the water. It's actually cooler because you get to see the silo hotels windows up close.

Amazing location. Clean, neat & well laid out. Plenty of places to eat, plenty of activities along the Harbour side with amazing views. Informal pop up markets with a variety of goods & foods cater for all tastes. V&A is safe with plenty of parking. Loved it!

Wow, what an amazing experience . The environment was clean,The people were nice, except the incident of two very clean guys who wanted to take our phones "their approach was really lame, but one can easily fall for their tricks out of kindness. NB. : DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR PHONE FOR PICTURES or ALLOW ANYONE TO USE YOUR PHONE TO SEND PICTURES. Otherwise the place is beautiful and has so many activities and historical monuments. The Mall has a lot of shops and ice cream 😋🍨🍦 We really had fun .

Really beautiful place. Great scenes as per usual upon arrival. The atmosphere is very buzzing. This is a great family on vacation shopping destination. The solo traveller will enjoy the silent spots I've come to discover and enjoy too. There are multiple activities to engage in.

It's like a normal shopping centre but it's by the sea. Lots of restaurants and pubs if you into that vibe. It's really cool to see the boats coming into and out of the canal the architecture is also very unique.

Great experience in this wonderful mall! Had a lovely lunch and great shopping variety for anything needed. Parking is easy and the African shops are worth looking at given 100% SA made items are truly beautiful. When visiting I shall be back to embrace the beauty of this wonderful waterfront

Absolutely beautiful place to definitely see when in cape Town.. Because it's so big and spread out.. One can get a little lost.. The ground floor is very busy but as you go another level up it's too quiet for me and it's like a maze.. Nice shops but it's not properly advertised.. So first time Comer on the V&A. Wouldn't know there's absolutely beautiful shops on the first floor..

Clean safe. What a lovely experience. You can pick and choose from a variety of restaurants. Shop to your heart's content and explore and enjoy the many activities available at the Waterfront. A visit to Cape Town is not complete if you have not spent a day at the Watefront. Go out on a boat our enjoy a helicopter flight I specifically loved the painted Rhino's. You can commission the painting of a Rhino and have it shipped anywhere in the world, with all proceeds going to Rhino conservation. Then there is a Cape Town letters ... Take a closer look as each letter tells you about the different mountains in Cape Town. This place a true Gem. Enjoy!

The experience here is hard to describe in words. Perhaps the short version of my description would be, "A must visit". This place is just too good, and houses several activities catering to different kinds of interests. At the Waterfront, you will find a bustling mall, an aquarium, the Cape Wheel, boat cruises, helicopter rides, seaside views, live music and performances on the ground and several other attractions. You will also be treated to fantastic views of the Table mountains, giving you nice photo opportunities.

Victoria and Alfred waterfront is a lovely place. A must visit for everyone visiting Cape town or staying in Cape town. It has a shop for everything you can think of. Restaurants, pharmacies, the cape wheel, play grounds for kids, perfume shops, boat rides, sight seeing, clothing, and others. It can get really crowded here. There is usually outdoor performances on going. With lots of people relaxing enjoying the weather or a meal or chatting and others moving up and down enjoying the various forms of entertainment.

V&A waterfront mall is one of the best malls in Cape Town South Africa. It has both local and international outlets/brands. The mall is located right at the waterfront. It has many great eateries and a beautiful walk out on the water front. V&A waterfront is a short drive from the Capetown City Centre.

Situated in Cape Town on the Atlantic shore with the Table Mountain as it’s backdrop. It’s is an iconic mixed-use neighbourhood popular to tourists from all around the world. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from, including the Two Oceans Aquarium and a market place. There is definitely various things to see and do within the neighbourhood and you can allow hoop on the City Sightseeing Bus to experience the beauty of the whole city.

Multi-level shopping centre with lots of stores offering just about all you could need. Fast food places indoor while most upmarket restaurants are situated outside overlooking the harbour. Early mornings are calm whereas it gets busy from late morning. Usually traditional bands playing music or dancing outside, or a show is on at the mini arena. Gets very festive at Christmas and New Year where the fireworks can be viewed. Many parking facilities at a cost.

The Cape Town V&A Waterfront is certainly a vibrant place with a constant exhibition of culture and talent. There is also a great variety of activities to consider from different boat rides, city hop on hop off busses and an aquarium to helicopter rides, and many more. There is furthermore an extreme selection of cuisine options and a large shopping mall to explore and ample opportunities to take special photos. It certainly is a top attraction in Cape Town and is not to miss when visiting the mother city.

  • 5/5 Aviva 3 years ago on Google
The V&A has something for everyone. Trendy restaurants, live outdoor music, delicious food at the food market (I highly recommend a visit), breathtaking views of Table Mountain, walking shelter dogs, the picturesque harbour, and a great shopping experience.

Dip & Dip is a must try for dessert fans. The desserts can be shared, as the portions are large. Go on the big wheel for good views and a fun experience. Don't forget to take a pic at the yellow photo frame with Table mountain as the back drop.

This is perhaps the only mall with the coolest place in the cities of South Africa. There are many expensive brands’ shops and many kinds of choices for food, such as fish, chicken and meat. And also playground for children at the entrance it can be found. There is a very nice, clean, and a masjid with toilet and ablution facilities that find all needs (for male and female).

A truly amazing spot in Cape Town. The views, Vibe, restaurants, shops, people and music just gives this space an extra vibe. There are loads of restaurants to eat or just have a drink, lots of music being played by different artists / bands and loads of shops to explore... The views are just lovely. We loved it here

Very upmarket shopping venue. The usual suspect stores are all here plus the high end luxury stores which are not so easy to find. Reasonable selection of restaurants and the more market like stalls are also present outside. Loads of boat and helicopter tour stands along the actual dockside. Must visit venue when coming to Cape Town. Fantastic views of table mountain in the background.

When a place is great i visit it morethan once. I was there 3 times in a row. Was a great place. All shops are there from designer shops to normal ones. Very many eateries, tried Nando’s rice, obviously I'm a rice eater, so I visited it after robben island, then the second day was spur for my sightseeing trip. great food, saw sth carribean. Then last was definitely wimpy. Always a great time. But I loved V & A waterfront beach. Ohhh the other thing, the boat cruises, the ones that set off for robben island prison set.off from the beach, sightseeing boat cruises as well. Family rentals of the boats. Plane cruise around the beach. Its just an action-packed place. Wine, alot can't say it all. While in capetiwn, be sure to visit waterfront beach. The hotel too, woow ambience.

Definitely one of my favourite spots in Cape Town and South Africa. Everything you could possibly want and more. Safe and easy to walk around. More than enough food, drink and coffee choices. Definitely a must see and experience place to visit.

Really great place if you're a foodie, a lot of awesome food stalls and restaurants with stunning views. The only downfall as a South African citizen is the tourist prices on a lot of the market goods, other than that there are some really lovely artworks, jewlery and clothes to shop for

I had the previlage to fly down to Capetown for a week. One of my stops I made was at V&A waterfront. Firstly, the views are absolutely stunning. In saying that on the day I got the the bay area and the mooring spots where the boats are had a really bad foul fishy smell. Not sure if this is common in Cape Town but it can put one off if you sensitive to smell especially if you sitting on the sidewalk Cafe trying to eat a meal. I eventually opted to eat at Starbucks as this was situated in the V&A shopping center and much higher and away from the waters edge. I had a salmon bagel and a frappicino and I was surprisingly impressed with the quality of the Salmon bagel. Overall a great experience for anyone to try of you haven't been down to Capetown.

V&A water front is a stunning location with excellent facilities that cater for both local South Africans and international toursists. A great place to get quality food enjoyed between friends and family with Table Mountain towering the backdrop.

Really great...great that one's able to enjoy outside facilities especially whilst we still going thru a pandemic. Great to see most people wearing mask correctly.. Not all but most. Overcrowding and mask wearing should be monitored and enforced. If more monitoring is enforced, less people will succumb to the virus. Otherwise, really great.

Loved it, it was so lovely walking around in the open air, and watching all the solo singers performing and the mimes, of course the one in the gold outfit had my grandchild holding tighter onto my hand, but it was a joy being at the most attractive place in cape Town, with lots to c, especially the seals, and all kinds of food to eat from. And of course u always meet someone u hadn't seen in ages.

Clean, quiet and so many shops. It's beautiful inside. The Christmas decorations and beautiful and it feels comfortable waking around in the mall. The outside is also great due to the harbors and the City views. It's well worth a walk through. Always keep vigilant of opportunistic crime at tourist Hotspots like these though.

Had dinner at the Harbour House. Very disappointing. Table not set ,it was very untidy, we had to ask for napkins and cutlery. Service very slow. The waitress was trying hard but seemed very stressed. The beer and coke was warm and she suggested we but it in the ice bucket for a few minutes. We sent it back and if we had not already ordered the children's dinner. The food was average. My daughter complained to the manager who was very apologetic and wanted to comp our meal, we did not want that as we did not complain to get a free meal. He explained that he was new and determined to get it all sorted. Will try it again some time but definitely not at month end, the Waterfront was very busy, all the restaurants had strings of people waiting .

Lovely place to visit. Has many restaurants, a nice aquarium and many other activities. The mall is also home to a few high end shops. The Cape Union Mart is one of the best in South Africa. Very tourist oriented place. Boarding for Robin Island takes place at the waterfront, there are also several souvenir shops. The highlight of V&A was the open area for the seals to bask. Amazing experience interacting with the seals, however they are wild and can be dangerous so approach with caution.

Yes please. Had a good wander around enjoying the views and people watching as you do. A lot of interesting things going on. The place was very busy and had plenty of atmosphere.

There a lot to do here and it’s great. The walk from shop to shop isn’t at all bad and it’s absolutely stunning!! Spend a full day here and be sure to do a Catamaran Ride up to sea point and back.

The V&A Waterfront was very active and as always provided great shopping, good food and nice views. You can easily spend a whole day walking, talking eating and shopping. My favorite shopping is always at the Water Shed which has many vendors and is well organized. It is a clean open and airy environment.

Packed with shops and restaurants and laid out beautifully. The combo of actual working ships alongside a huge shopping center and wonderful restaurants is rare. It's just plain fun!!

We had a lot of fun. We've celebrated my girlfriend's 31st Birthday at waterfront and it was amazing😁😇🥳. All and all it was good. The reason why i am giving 4 stars and not 5, is because there is always room for improvement 😉

Greatest experience ever, worth the money. Their hospitality is out of this world. We missed our slot and they let us get on the following slot. We enjoyed our 1hour on the boat cruise

Great array of products. Also, had a sense of safety. And there was good spacing and store organization that didn’t discomfort foot traffic. Navigating between different floors was also easy. Major everyday fashion brand have stores here, or there products are sold one way or the other. The motor traffic organization was also good.

The V&A Waterfront is an amazing place to visit. Beautiful harbour, convenient and massive shopping centre, entertainment and the Aquarium near by. Amazing undercover street / flea markets. Also great for food lovers while dining with amazing views. This is a must visit gem.

Great area to visit, walk around, shop, dine, take a boat ride, enjoy the day! Indoor shopping mall is upscale, modern, clean and two levels. Lots of high end shopping. Lots of restaurants to choose from both in the enclosed shopping mall and around the waterfront. Every restaurant seemed very busy and the ones around the waterfront had balconies overlooking the boat slips. I took an hour and a half boat trip out and around the harbor on a forty foot catamaran designed to take a lot of people and there were only two other people on it. It cost me five dollars. One hundred Rand. I had limited time but could have easily spent more time here walking about and trying different restaurants. This is also where you get the boat to visit Robbins Island, a former penal colony with deep Nelson Mandela history. This is a four hour excursion which I was not able to do. Trips fill up quickly so book this online.

Very clean with incredible scenery of both Table Mountain and the ocean. A variety of excellent restaurants to choose from and a large mall with plenty of shopping options. Street performers add to the vibe.

Lovely views, great shops and restaurants, live entertainment, clean and well maintained, what's not to like? As tourists we found it perfectly safe to walk to during the day, using main routes, but at dusk, would not visit without shuttle bus or other transport.

Worth a visit, loads of shops, cafes and bars in the most beautiful setting. It’s very busy and there is lots of live dancing, singing and street art. Great for people watching and window shopping

A day out retail therapy and chilling. Eating drinking and enjoying the surrounds. The yacht race was docking here and we were able to wish a couple of crews good luck on their next leg of their voyage.

Beautiful mall with all the shops and restaurants you could want. The waterfront is gorgeous! We took a stroll on the boardwalk at the water...and there was a loose board which I didn't see. I fell & broke my hip!!! I can testify that Security, EMT at the mall were fabulous and treated me with the best care.

Pretty place to be and hangout. Try to eat at one of the restaurants sitting right on the pier for a memorable view. I wouldn’t recommend eating at Life Grand though. My friend’s food tasted like dish washing liquid. We spoke to management and they undertook to gaslight. Apparently we were imagining this taste. We asked for them to try the plate of food for themselves. They refused 💀.

Always a bliss visiting V n A Waterfront. It can be crowded during festive season, but ofcourse it's festive vibes right? Where else can one be? Great restaurants, all shops are available here, I mean all. Great place to be when you are on holiday, or when you want to relax and catch some fresh air. Nice view by the harbour. You can catch a boat, a helicopter an uber or a red bus. You will find everything you need here!
