Ordered chicken chow mein as well as sweet and sour pork from Uber eats. Enjoyed the chow mein, lots of crispy veggies. Pork and rice was also good. Only small criticism is that the sweet and sour sauce was very acidic and gelatinous

Love their sushi buffet. It includes spring rolls, dessert as well. Well worth the money. You can get sushi off the menu or order off the menu if you want hand rolls or anything specific you want on the menu that isn’t on the belt. …..We found a remarkably good meal-deal with WIKIDEALS for 1KG RIBS, 1KG PRAWNS with CHIPS & ONION-RINGS for Four People to Share. Hence our visit here today. We were unfamiliar with the “COBBLE-WALK SHOPPING CENTRE” so we were very taken aback by the sheer size of the restaurant “ASAMI’S ASIAN-GRILL”. When you enter you are met by very well mannered and friend-lii staff, who first make sure you are “MASKED-UP” and that your hands are “SANITISED” before showing you to your table. So you can rest a sure that they have their Covid-19 Protocols in place. It’s Safe here! The seating area is divided into two by a pigeon-hole partition where the openings have pret-tii Chinese-Trinkets on display. They have a “Smokers-room which also happens to be the bar where there are tables to sit down and eat and there is a large Pool-Table also. In the bar they have a “Happy-Hour” daily from 16:00 to 18:00. Sushi seems to be their speciality or so it seems and I say this only because of the “Mile-Long Sushi-Conveyor-Belt” that starts in the one section of the restaurant and goes all the way to the end of the other side. Wow! The have a large menu-card that offers many fish-dishes, a wine-menu and they sell wine per bottle or per glass and various other drinks at reasonable prices. Lots of daily specials like Noodle-Mondays buy one and get one free, Fish & Chips for only R 39-00 per plate, Sushi for R 169-00 eat as much as you like or can? Etc, etc. We started off by ordering “Two-Cousins” Rose’ per glass and Hazelnut Frappe’s served in glass-jam-jars. Our “KING-GRILL-PLATTER” real-lii overwhelmed us as the Ribs served was 3 x Racks very well marinated, cooked soft and succulent, the meat falling off the bone. The Prawns was a good-catch the platter filled to the brim although not big sized prawns but good enough to peel the white-flesh out of the shells, the taste & flavouring was intriguing not quite Peri-peri sharp but nice & taste-ii the fresh coriander sprinkled over it complimented it delicious-lii. Isaac our waiters was on point served us very professional-lii. This restaurant will get many more visits from us in the future……NB! Patrons must make use of the Centres Toilets which are clean and well maintained.......

Booked table for 2, got there, waited at the door, waiters just walk passed us after awhile, we went to look for a table, we about to sit and a waiter appears and tells us the table is for people that always want that table, i explained we booked a table, but he didnt take notice, we followed him to a table in the back, ordered drinks we odered the sushi deal, and sweet&sour pork, i asked him could i have noodles, which his answer was R10.00 extra i said it was fine, i didnt want rice, i wanted noodles. Right, so the sushi on the belt about every meter and a 1/2 is a plate, my pork and RICE got to me 45min later, i tasted the pork while waiting for the waiter to come back so i could tell him i actually said Noodles and the minced pork balls tasted like raw batter. Told him, he took it back and i waited another 20 min for my cold Noodles and balls to get back the noodles tasted like spagetti that had sucked up too much water.Not a nice overall experience def wont go back

Waited an hour for my take-away sushi. The soy sauces was clearly watered down (luckily we had our own soy sauce at home), the fish wasn't fresh and both the fish and ginger had a very artificial color. Not worth the money and we definitively will not go back. Two out of 4 people who ate the sushi was sick later.

Fantastic sushi restaurant, with all you can eat buffet! They have the option to sit at the belt or at tables. It is best to reserve a table on busier evenings and the service is alway polite and friendly.

Did not have a good experience at this branch. Placed my order on their app for collection, after 40 minutes I left to collect my order as this is the time that the app has indicated. When I arrived I was informed that the app does not work!. So I handed them my order and visited some stores in the mall. Came back 30 minutes later for my order only to be told there is a mix up with my order and It would take another 15 minutes to correct. At this point I am starving. Received my order and when I got home I realised that half my order was incorrect. At this point it was seriously just going to be too much effort to go back and return it. My family and I made do with what we received even though it was not ordered. I was super disappointed in the level of service received. 2 stars because the food was still very tasty, though not what i ordered.

I've been to all the Asami's branches and today was my first at this one. Definitely the best! The sushi was great. All my favorites were on the serving line and they were all divine plus tried some new ones too! I have only one suggestion.... organize some wheelchairs with a patron to drag your customer back to their car! Stomach too full to walk 😂 Well done to the chef and friendly staff!!

All you can eat is really worth it. Come just before the lunch rush and you'll get a good table at the all you can eat belt. Just be careful not to eat too much and break your chair.😉 I definitely didn't do that,... At all. Service is friendly. Also don't forget to try the desserts.

I've never had a bad experience at Asami's & I've been going there for 2yrs now. The service is good & one cannot fault the food, it's ALWAYS delicious. I drive a fairly long way to get food from this restaurant cause it doesn't disappoint at all. Highly recommended.

Delivery took more than 2 hours. I called after 1h20min and they said it was on its way. Waited another 40min after that. It was warm and smashed when we finally received it. Still gave the driver a tip though.

So my valentine’s experience tonight was not a good one. This is a badly managed situation that could have been fixed easily. So we sat at a table instead of the sushi belt as we were told that the open seats we wanted was booked. I stood at the belt (at the open seats that no one ended up using) a total of 45 mins to get sushi, and my wife and I ended up spending 5 mins together at our table. The drinks were horribly late. I never got my extra ginger I ordered. The salmon roses we ordered never came after 35 mins of waiting. I ended up eating 8 trays of oranges. The uber eats guys crowded the entrance and the got their orders way before we did. Nor the waiter nor the manager informed us or communicated the issues tjey were experiencing. Total bill for the evening was almost R700 for my wife and our two daughters. We spant our whole time apart from each other hunting for the ill stocked sushi belt dishes, ended up eating mostly watermelon and oranges! And paid an arm and a leg for it. After many meals I’ve had there, they won’t see me again.

Went for the buffet on Thursday 23/6 but the quality of the sushi on the belt was not great. Ice cold spring rolls, salmon roses that is only wrapped half way with the open sides squashed together on the plate. Wasabi parcels looked like Wasabi tower of pizzas. I'm not critical when dining out but there is definitely a lack of training. See also picture of sushi staff, no uniforms at all. The one lady with the spectacles puts on Vaseline on her lips with her index fingers and then non chalantly carries on with food preparation without washing her hands. Not on guys. The Zimbabwean female waitress was very friendly though. Won't be able to recommend you, sorry.

The service was so slow. We were sitting for 15min when a couple came in and were immediately served while we were still waiting to be helped. When i asked if we can at least order our drinks we were told, we need to wait for someone to come to us😳. Also we ordered 2 serving of Dim Sum and they charged us the price of dumplings, even though it cost more and they wouldn't charge it because apparently that's how they always ring it up. Not again thank you.

We often eat at Cobblewalk Asami as we love to take the kids, sit at the belt and all have the buffet. Tonight we were horribly disappointed with the quality and variety of sushi that was available. The sizes were inconsistent. Everything had WAY too much rice and everything, except what we ordered extra was covered in too much sweet chilli sauce. The tuna was inedible and the salmon was a very weird colour. All in all, just not a good experience.

Service could be a bit faster, but the food is amazing. They're not shy with the samon on the roses either. Smoker section in the back that's more a bar like vibe so can go there to watch sport or hangout with friends. Conveyor belt for buffet is full as there are multiple chefs stocking it up

Was our first experience with this Asami's. Sadly it will be our last...the manager,staff and our waiter were very friendly and helpful but sadly the sushi was not that great. Some of the rice and salmon sushi were dried out which made it really chewy and some of the sushi pieces with avo were brown (like it was made very early that morning and left out...) There was a lot of pre-made sushi aswell...with really brown avo. Understandable that they might get busy, but I doubt it's necessary to prepare that amount of plates beforehand My partner ordered a prawn cheesy roll as he loves it, but it tasted very off according to him. When I took a bite, I could easily taste something was off. Our waiter and the manager was really nice about this and we were given a fresh selection. This is probably the only reason I am giving it a 3 star. It was definitely not worth the money(R220/p) The ice cream with chocolate sauce was nice tho...😅

Would not recommend. Pro's: The sushi was on par with about any other place. Not better, but not worse. The portion size itself vs the price is fair. Cons: I received my 14 piece sushi about 20 mins before my GF received her chicken burger. My GF waited 20-25 mins for a terrible chicken burger. The burger was just minced chicken pressed into a patty and not a regular chicken patty / chicken breast. It wasn't good at all. It was served on a plate that was basically meant for soup. I mean seriously? She could hardly cut her burger or anything on the plate because of the MASSIVE indentation in the middle of the plate........ Then our waiter disappeared for about 15-20 mins while she was eating (and I was just staring at her because my food was done before hers arrived). We had to wait 15-20 mins just so we could ask for the bill. So instead we went to the till to pay and low and behold finally our waiter shows up. Extremely unprofessional.

Delicious all you can eat sushi. Had a nice selection on the belt and some interesting sushi pieces too which was a delight to try as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and we had a good evening out.

Sushi quality and variety is what you are looking for at Asami's and it usually delivers. Been a year since I've last been there - and it felt a bit drab atmosphere wise to me this time around. Also - the all you can eat option is nou almost on par with a couple of combos and not worth it anymore - they are going to have to start thinking outside the box All in all - can still recommend

Verry poor on take aways

We arrived at the restaurant looking forward to a great meal but the waitress sprayed sanitizer into my girlfriends eye. Then she offered no help and the restaurant was completely empty. The female waitress also showed an attitude towards us on arrival. Horrible..

After lockdown there service has really gone down the drain. Especially there delivery service. If you actually get your order within 3 hours and after a few phone calls to follow up if they actually received your order. Chance is good that the driver will turn your sushi on it side totally destroying it on it's way to you.

The food was great..the shopping was good. Lovely little place.

My go to for a delicious AYCE sushi! Fresh and love that the sushi pieces are smaller with a little less rice, so you can eat more and more. I just dont like the current online voucher required for buffet. Otherwise food and service was great. Thank you.

I am usually a big fan off Asami's however was a little disappointed today. There was very little on the sushi belt and only about 4 different items...Sundays at 18:00 is obviously not a good time to go...I would suggest they rather close up earlier or at least have a Sunday half price special...Our waitress however was very friendly and helpful

The restaurant was clean and tidy. Our waitress was very nice and gave us some great recommendations. The manager also came round and checked if everything was good. Its a bit pricey but the quality was great. Also liked that the sushi wasn’t oversized. Check their website for specials.

Service has been bad for the last few months. Too bad because we never had any issue with service from them. Only the last few months it's been horrible, food quality, delay in orders, and cancelation of Uber orders. If they want to stay in business they will have to up their game. It's now more that 4 times consequently having bad experiences.

Waited more than an hour for the food we ordered while seated.

Meh. Sushi is ok at best. Also, don't take from the belt before it gets busy in the evening. We went on a weekday afternoon and all the sushi on the belt was clearly from the previous evening. The amount of actual fish in the sushi is minimal too. Try Boathouse if you want decent portions and a much fresher tasting sushi.
