What a great experience and 4outstanding service from Vivienne and Jimmy. Once we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Jimmy, a wonderful man with a brilliant sense of humour who immediately made it known that i we needed anything, we should feel free to ask. We were looking for a great seafood restaurant in the area and Jimmy and Vivienne gave us a few options. The one we chose was based in Kalk bay and my wife and I had some of the most amazing seafood we have ever had and it was perfect for the fact that this was our first night alone without the kids in months. We had an amazing nights rest followed by the best tasting breakfast made by Vivienne and Jimmy themselves. They are an amazing team and made us feel like we were at a home away from home. You can't get a nicer place to stay.. everything is unique and chalets self contained cozy ...got to stay here to really appreciate the beauty of the place and the warm easy charm of mine hosts Jimmy and Viv. Thank you for everything Jan and Corine

Our accommodations were wonderful. Very clean place with lots of space in the rooms. Breakfast was good, though a bit unexciting after 6 days in a row, haha. The laundry service (extra charge) was a life saver. Owners were very helpful in providing suggestions. WiFi wasn't great, but it was manageable. FANTASTIC views of table mountain. Very quiet place. Appreciate the big gate and alarm system to keep our car safe. Would highly recommend this place!

Such a lovely experience. Jimmy and Vivienne made us feel right at home and we really felt relaxed. An amazing getaway!

This is a fabulous place to stay. The lovely couple who own Makapa Lodge are very personable but respectful of your privacy. The breakfasts are superb with fruit, yogurt, granola, mixed cheeses, meats, dried fruits, sausage, bacon and eggs & toast cooked to order. Make sure to ask for their ZA “jerky”. We stayed in the suite with the king-sized bed which was quite lovely with a superb bathroom & shower. Earl Grey Tea & coffee in the room. Room service was delivered discreetly every day. They have a pool available but we did not avail ourselves. Their property backs up to a reserve. Their property has many species of birds including Sugarbirds and Sunbirds. Jimmie is a font of information on birding sites. Ask him for his personal map to the waste water facility with reclamation ponds teeming with birds. You won’t find it any other way. We saw a gorgeous flock of Greater Flamingos. We spent a fabulous week here and would come back in a heartbeat. Last but not least, on our last night here, Jimmie spotted the Spotted Eagle Owl on the property. He quickly came and got my birder husband to show it to him. I got to see it too - magnificent bird!

An absolutely amazing escape from the outside world. The scenery is beautiful and service is excellent. I loved every minute of my stay from the time of arrival up until departure and Vivienne is an outstanding host very friendly. Will definitely take time out to go and experience the tranquility and relaxation again.

What a beautiful property. Our hosts Jimmy and Vivienne are very warm and charming. We felt more like family than lodge guests and they made our wedding anniversary so memorable. Thank you so much for your lovely lodge. This is a great place to stay.

Our stay at Makapa Lodge was wonderful. We came with a baby and everything was prepared, even a baby bath was provided. Vivienne and Jimmy are very friendly and helpful. The setting is great, just in between every interesting spot and very calm. The rooms are big and the pool is very nice. You can see some animals if you're lucky. :)

Hi All I would like to share my experience at Makapa Lodge over the weekend. Lets Go!!!! Myself and my husband decided to go away abit as a break from our kids, like we all do from time to time.😊 The warm welcome we received from Jimmy and Vivienne was perfect. We then booked into our room and it was clean, neat and beautiful. The warm water pool was unexpected and amazing. We had a peaceful quiet nights rest and headed for breakfast upstairs to start a new day. Once again warm welcomes, jokes and laughter all the way. We saw some wild animals while having breakfast which just ended everything off perfectly. Oh, the resturants advised was excellent! Thanks Vivienne and Jimmy for welcoming us and we will be making Makapa our new get away. Simone and Darron
