This is a great downtown venue. From the serious-looking bouncer at the door, I presume it can get crowded. I quite like the atmosphere and the staff were quite friendly. Unfortunately, a small poster in the toilets informed me that all the drinks we ordered from the main bar were on a 2 for 1 special at the outside bar because it was 30 minutes into happy hour. Considering the place was virtually empty when we showed up, it would have been a very stylish move if the bartender informed us of that fact, and it would also have gotten the Village Idiot a five star review.

What an absolutely wonderful place to go to. The food is amazing and for the price it is well worth it. The vibe is electric great atmosphere.The service and the employees are friendly and always there to assist when you need them. Will definitely be back.

Wednesdays is bottomless wings and chips.. Delicious... They had a pop up gin stall for R40 where you could choose all the toppings you desired.. The prawn curry was filling and tasted amazing. The vibe is quirky and uniqie with a fire place for the winter nights and many funny sayings all of their walls and artwork that will keep your eyes entertained .. A good night out with good food and great venue

This is a great place, it has the most relaxed vibe and great culture. Their toilets are extreamly clean and well maintained, their drinks are great and of good quility. We had great service and fantastic food. Never a disappointment and will defenetly see me soon for more. I would heighly recomend this place for any couple or group of friwmds to come and enjoy their night

The entrance looks a bit suspect but once you go upstairs, it has a great atmosphere. Friendly and attentive waiters. The food was incredible! Great music and DJ playing some 2000’s tunes.

Came back after 4 years and everything is still 10/10! I'll come back every time due to the fact that everyone always makes you feel so welcome. We had mayce as a waitress, she was so great! Compared to other restaurants and bars in Cape Town, the service was very fast. Also the other employees worked fast, smart and friendly. Will come back for sure.

Love this place. The chicken burger was huge but absolutely amazing. The best thing about this place is the vodka slushies. I had both the granadilla an raspberry & they were delicious - the servings could be bigger though. The place turns into a full on club by 10pm and becomes extremely crowded so I suggest going early if you are going for food only.

The vibe really picked up after 10pm, got me dancing non-stop. Loved the fact that they had flaps on the balcony to protect us from the rain. And I especially love the little check they do on your way out. Security checks that all cellphones in your possession can be opened by you. Definitely revisiting this one.

Really nice hipster like bar, and the Burger deal was pretty amazing: R120 for a burger and a small beer. I didn't like the Standard Lager, but they have plenty of other beers to choose from.

I haven’t been here since lockdown started - but I’ve been here a few times. It’s got an incredible vibe. I don’t know if it’s the decor, the staff or the clientele that make it great but it just works. Love it here.

The food was okay. The vibe was good, however, the attitude and treatment we received from the waiter was appalling. I had called to make a reservation before my friend and I came to the restaurant. The waiter who served us was rude and very impatient. He took his time before he came to take our order. He would roll his eyes when we asked for more time to look at the menu. When the food arrived, he basically threw the plates on the table. He made us really uncomfortable. I do not want to allude to the fact that this was a racial incident, but it pretty much felt like it. It’s disgusting to say the least, that we as customers should tolerate dealing with mistreatment from a waiter especially when we pay for a service and still paid gratuity of 10% each.

We where there on Wed the public holiday, the place is beautiful the staff are so friendly.... However they need to do something about there Wednesday night special that crazy priced and ridiculously small pizza for R110. That is all they have to offer so u have no choice.... Its so small I can put my 2 phones together, it's about that size....i hope the management sees this and make some changes.

What a lekker jol. We had a great time although on a Wednesday the crowd was very young. We enjoyed the pizza and drinks. The music got very good and loud. We left it to the youngsters and went home at 12. It’s not easy being 40 😂 Great drinks and so much fun. Will always come back.

The dinner specials here are worth coming back to time after time. The atmosphere and ambiance is inviting and the late night vibe is tremendous- great music and dancing. I always feel safe and comfortable here with the presence of security.

On a weekend, this club is a stampede danger waiting to happen. One cannot move sideways in this place. The crowd is forever pushing and shoving. The space is just too small for the amount of people they allow in. The club is a really good venue otherwise. If you go there on a weekday ,it's not so crowded. We've been here a few times . Always with the hopes that the experience will be different but it's always the same. Too full. Poor crowd control.

The waiter Tim was very rude to my friends and I, a group of all black African women who didn’t tip as much as he wanted. He yelled and threatened us to never be allowed in the restaurant even after paying and tipping him. Even though the food was great, I felt racially profiled.

Assisted us with a smile, was keen to help. So Kudos to her 😊 Pizza was good, however the Veggie burger - my friend didn't think it was great. I think, I'd probably have to visit again and write a follow up review. I suppose that's a good thing right 😅 3.5/5 for now... Can't score Half's so 4 will do

What a beautiful place to drink something with friends and dance some nice music. Very particular and well designed, this place is full of young people, there is a fireplace, nice table , two bar. Good choice of beverages and drinks and good prices too. Recommended!

I attended a networking event and it is a great venue with plenty bar staff and waitrons. The outside deck is perfect for mingling and drinking plus there's a dance floor to dance the night away on weekends. Unfortunately, there's a lot of signage requesting people to watch their valuables so I don't think it's a 100% safe.

Amazing design and decor, great food and drinks. However, when attempting to leave we were accosted by an employee at the door who demanded we take out our phones and unlock them. A strange request, we’ve never be asked to do this before on our travels. When we asked why, we were repeatedly told to “unlock your phone” you can imagine the manner in which this was happening from a man who was given a false sense of authority. I was then told by another customer it was to check that the phone is not stolen. This I agree with, but after enjoying an above average evening and paying my above average bill, I don’t want to be treated like a criminal on my way out. Rather educate your customers of your processes. Still, 5 stars!

THere was very good service and a good atmosphere. It got very busy later with loads of kids drinking and dancing. Then it was time to leave for me after 30 - 40 minutes of that. I enjoyed myself for sure. Just didn't notice that the bill already had a ten percent tip tariff and I added another 20....🙃. That was my mistake, easy to make after some shots. Food was good aswell. They also have you screened by security on way out to make sure you didn't steal anyone's phone. That's a new one. Probably a good idea considering it's a huge issue these days going out in popular busy spots. Then there was a door guy who made sure you got in the right transport outside. That was cool too!

I got there early around 5pm, not busy at all. Cute place for sure. The service I got was great, but again it was early. Tasted some beers before deciding on one. I came there for the biltong plate. I asked if they could add some cheese to it and yes they could. Fantastic....just great! I had to take some back to my room, the waiter know that and gave me a togo box right away. I sat outside which is a smoking area but it was nice. For sure I must go.

Really great food and vibe. Sometimes service can be slow. But all and all great music and vibe on weekends and some weekdays. Music does get bit repetitive towards the end of the evening.
