Summary: is you have low expectations on food and don't mind paying high prices in a bar this is a place for you. It is not a place for families, certainly not those with kids. This place should just be a bar not restaurant, it's dark, close to dingy. Has a long bar where I imagine the drinks flow easily and would make for a nice stop on a bar crawl. However, as a restaurant it sucks! We ordered 3 meals, 1 kids chicken strips, 600g ribs and a meal size portion of spicy chicken wings. All the meals were terrible. The chicken strips were dry, tough and tasteless, my kid could not eat them. The ribs, which I was promised were tender and "fell off the bone" were hard as rubber, the only redeeming quality they had was the basting sauce. The chicken wings did not taste good (according to the Mrs), and for the money they cost, the meals left a bit to be desired. Needless to say, Bree street has a lot of bars and restaurants and I will be walking straight past this one next time.

Amazing dining experience. Staff extremely friendly and very attentive service. The milkshakes are a must have(very tasty). Buffalo wings, lobster roll(goes without saying) and the burger was lovely. Will definitely return when in Cape Town again.

Delicious food, attentive service, extensive wine and cocktail menu and the restaurant itself was modern without being cold. Energy very good, I imagine it is vibey at night. Menu items are pricey, but it's lobster and that isn't cheap. I enjoyed the lobster roll - very good. Next time I'm going back for their wolf burger - with lobster and pure beef on a brioche bun.

Exceptional experience from the food & cocktails, the ambience and the friendly staff. I failed to make a reservation but I wasn't turned away and was still treated with respect and kindness. I was given a reserved table by the FOH manager and was told that I have about 2 hours at the given table and that was obviously more than enough for a hungry foodie! The food didn't take too long and was made with fresh ingredients. The prices are quite affordable for the quality food they provide and the cocktails were a perfect balance between liquor & chaser. I was quite impressed that The Lobster roll came with fries AND salad whereas normally you'd have to choose between the two. Absolutely obsessed with the ambience, the dim lighting goes really well with the deep house music they play. The whole experience was satisfactory. It was my first time and definitely won't be my last! Happy foodie!

We had a great dining experience. The waitress - Chantal - is very knowledgeable and explained all the details. Making sure we were happy and set. Great food - both burger and lobster! One comment though: we also ordered take away one other evening (via delivery) and it would be great to also have the plastic apron for take away. Not a big thing but a small and meaningful detail. . . . an absolutely awesome Lobster combination, personally I would just add some Chilli. The B&L Burger is so understated, it's in a league of its own. This place is simply oozing ambience, and the food is even better. Once you've been there once, you'll be back for more. I know I will be back, coz my taste-buds tell me so 😉

Had the greatest time at Lobster and Burger today. Service was impeccable! Mikayla you were such a great waitress! The bar snack were so good, definitely give the lobster croquettes and the prawn bites a try! On to the mains, the lobster rolls were delicious. We made it for Happy Hour (4pm to 6pm) and the drink were on point! Thank so much to Lobster and Burger for a great dining experience! 👍🏽

Went for their happy hour and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so worth it! You sometimes find that happy hour drinks are weaker or diluted somewhat but not here, these were exactly the same. Definitely a happy hour venue (4 - 6pm). Had so much fun, great vibe, friendly barmen and excellent drinks. I'm in love with their cocktails🍹 and the great variety. Definitely going back. Oh and apparently the food is great too 🤣😋🤣😋. I'm building up a nice list for great happy hour places. I'll share them soon 😉😉😉

A gastronomic oasis in Cape Town. If you are a fun of burgers, (everybody is!) and if you love lobsters, (who doesn't) this is your place. Excellent location with easy parking. Very attentive and beautiful personnel. Amazing dishes made with passion from globally known chefs. Not to mention the desserts. I was speechless after every bite. Totally recommended!

I had an amazing experience at B&L. We started off with starters- cheese balls and brisket. Then shared the roll combo for two (burger and lobster roll) with starters and a bottle of wine. The food was amazing, the service was speedy and the waiter (Daniyel) provided us with world class service. We'll definitely return soon!

Updating from 2 to 5 because of the following: I am really impressed with how Paolo handled the matter, ensuring that my concern was heard and that he had a chance to fix it. I went back to have the big boy lobster roll and it was loaded with lobster meat, accompanied by a green salad, dressing, lemon butter and chips, all of which tasted delicious. Will be back for more next time. 😋 _________ Ordered the lobster roll to go. Disappointed to say the least. No salad or butter sauce, only a small amount of lobster meat just to cover the top of the bread essentially. The place is cute, the staff were friendly, the lobster tasted nice but overall I would say not worth the price of R235. Unlikely to eat here again.

Updated review, I've been ordering from B&L for about 3 years, and I've only gotten outstanding service & food. However, last night we got a burger that fell below their normal quality. Positively, their chicken burgers are really amazing, it's one of the biggest reasons we started ordering from them in the first place, highly recommended. I originally had a 2 star review up as they hadn't been able to contact me, but they called me to sort out the situation, we'll be keeping in touch. I hope to make this a 5 star review in the future, we really do love B&L, it's some of the best burgers in cape town by far, the price really shows on the quality, usually.

Great quality food. Superb burgers and amazing Lobster. Host and staff polite, kind and very supportive. Was an overall top experience and excellent food. Starters, main and dessert was all super!!! Definitely a must have dining experience in Cape Town.

I would like to start by saying can we PLEASE have a Burger & Lobster Johannesburg?! 😭 This is honestly the best burger I’ve had in my life!!! This diner was the highlight of my Cape Town trip, I’ve been thinking about it since! The burger I had was so good, the cocktail was also good! Our waitress was also so friendly and just a darling. If only I wasn’t 1000 kilometres away, I would be back there by now.

I enjoyed the dimmed lights in the evening, created a very intimate vibe for dinner. Our waiter was an absolute star, took the covid protocols very serious and most important his service was top class even though he was catering for multiple tables. I LOVE IT! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! We had two big boy lobster rolls (I think that's what they're called..?? I just know it was the up sized one!) and the HUGE wings in BBQ and Buffalo (I think those were the flavours? I know one was sweet and one was spicy!) Everything was delicious-o!

The space is intimate and great for catching up with friends and having fun. Their creative with their cocktails which I enjoyed and the food is absolutely mouth watering. Highly recommend if you are looking for some delicious food and good drinks. Definitely pop in for their happy hour everyday from 4-6pm. The cocktails are 2-for-1 and all the starters are R50. The starters portions are really decent so after 1 or 2 you really don't need another meal. Really enjoyed this spot.

Amazing ambiance and even better service. Jesse (our waiter) was absolutely great and full of energy. Truly made us feel welcome considering this was our first visit (definitely not our last visit). To be fair, all the staff was super friendly and incredible! Starters (wings and prawn pops) and mains (Legacy Burger, Fillet and Jack Daniel’s Ribs all 600 grams) was 10/10 The Creme brûlée was a massive 10000000/10 as well! Lastly, the cocktails was out of this world! If you are looking for a place to unwind after work or to have a date night - Burger & Lobster is the place to go! Thanks for having us!

An all-time favourite, contemporary and delicious dishes same consistent exceptional service and experience. Second time dining here and thought I would reserve my thoughts ,I tend to take several elements dining out including the vegetarian and vegan menu, lighting, waiting staff service decor etc. to ensure that my friends feel included whilst making amazing memories and sharing experiences. Burger & Lobster ticks all the boxes. A wholesome experience would be great if there was a way to improve street lighting in this area to feel safer. Similarly the access and lighting in the restroom could be significantly improved with little effort and understanding the pressure was rather disconcerting to hear the kitchen staff use profanity speaking to the waiting staff.

So I’ve never eaten Lobster before and my wife decided to bring me out to Burger & Lobster for my first time. If there was no Lobster options, the friendly atmosphere and staff combined with other food and drink options would have still brought us to this restaurant. Cocktails: I had the Old Fashioned and it was simply the best Old Fashion I’ve ever had…I didn’t want it to finish! For our mains we both had the lobster roll as the reviews on google are filled with that as a suggestion and for my first time eating lobster I simply fell in love with this dish. We are definitely returning to try out the other non lobster dishes as they sound divine…and for another Old Fashioned.

Service was great the front office girl was responsive and supportive for all the questions and concerns. Ordered the Veg options comes with salad and fires. I couldn’t complete the entire meal but it’s really delicious burger.

The food was delicious and although our waitress was friendly, the service was a little lacklustre. Interestingly, when we arrived we had one waitress👩 assigned who was later switched with another👩🏿 for some reason... Good food, good cocktails and good vibes.

We tried a couple of starters, sliders and lobster royale along with all the cocktails offered in happy hour and can say each was just brilliantly done! The cherry on top is very cool vibe and amazing personel who seem to be having fun at the job and treat you very kindly. Def recommend!!

Went to dinner with some friends last night, such a stunning venue - truly beautiful. The food was really yummy I had the slide trio and it was my first time trying a lobster roll - WOW! The service was also top notch, we were served by a lovely gentleman named Andrie. Only thing I’d say is to be cautious where you park at night we walked to our car about 150m away afterwards and were harassed, rather park closer, or uber.

Always the best service, the best drinks, the best food and the best vibe. 100/10 always recommend.

The 2 for 1 deals are super, and the bar bites were delicious starters before our main meals. Short sweet menu with a nice variety and an awesome vibe.

Food was amazing! Drinks were really good and really strong. Just how it should be. The only reason I cannot give this a full 5* experience is because we had to bolt because it literally felt like we were sitting in a sauna. Would definitely go again if there is some sort of air con or fans, just needs a really good ventilation system. Other than the ridiculous heat we really enjoyed ourselves!

Great space, food is OK. We started with the calamari and prawn bites - the calamari was sandy but had great flavor (probably the high point of the evening). The prawns were yummy but over seasoned. We had the Wolf burger with truffle and parmesan fries. Burger was like any other, but with battered crayfish on top. Crayfish was sandy too. Fries were OK, parmesan tasted processed. Happy hour drinks are thrown together - not worth the saving. Service sucks, management is dismissive of any attempt to discuss it. If you are light sensitive, there is a red light that may irritate you too. All in all, not worth my time or money.

By far the best burgers in Cape Town! We go there every year! Absolutely LOVED it. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to treat someone special, or even themselves for that matter :) Great service and even better food! Well done B&L!

The food was superb. But, this is not a value for money type establishment. But then again, when has Lobster ever been value for money 😉It was well worth the visit. The food was great, really tasty and prepared to perfection. Service was attentive but relaxed. We will be back.

Only came for the creme brule, and I must say the Best creme brule I've ever had! Presentation is a bit spoiled but so NICE! Bit pricey but it is worth it, highly recommend.

Excellent tasting lobster and the sauce was amazing. The bread made it impossible to eat without spilling however, I think you should have a bottom as well, maybe by folding a larger piece in two? The fries could also be elevated.
